    As user of this bike since April 2024, I would like to say it is highly accurate review. The smoking BBQ piping close to your feet & legs, having trouble with electric start, and big exhaust create bigger problem for side racks. Yet this cheap adventure cub available in Malaysian market while Honda and Yamaha doesn't. Using for daily commute on weekdays and offroad adventure on weekends.

      @@TheTruth70777 you could use some thermal wrapping but i dont suggest it. Because it might cause some rusting in the long run.

    Thanks Tom for the review of this bike. I have been waiting for a good professional review video regrading this bike in english for long time, and I were thinking to make one as I can not find any video in this topic. Aveta Ranger Max is Jialing Coco Cross 125x and it is a China bike. Hence, most of the accessories you can find are in Taobao, and you can not find anywhere else. For Pannier Rack especially, there will be much cheaper to import those accessories from China compare to local sources (and most of them import from China as well).

    • @tomonabudget
      @tomonabudget  Месяц назад +2

      Interesting to know that. I've also seen a bike that looks identical appear in the Philippines. It did have a different name but also had that X on the tank too.
      Interesting to know that there are rack out there. I hope they're better than what we had welded up in a hurry. It was also a few months ago now so there should be more accessories coming out.

    • @obsolete.camper
      @obsolete.camper Месяц назад +2

      @@tomonabudget As far as I know, Jialing start to enter SEA market last year. They have signed an agreement with two distributors in Malaysia and Philippine. In Malaysia, they rebrand it as Aveta Ranger Max (which I agree with you that it is a crap name, it should be given a name with shorter model code name) and in Philippine, they rebrand it as Rato Monarch Axis 125. Since there are zero info in non-chinese internet media, it is less known by small motorbike enthusiast.

    • @tomonabudget
      @tomonabudget  Месяц назад +4

      So, after thinking that this was a true Malaysian company, it's a big Chinese company that's producing their bikes in local markets. I wish I had known that. Thanks for the info!
      It almost follows "Cunningham's Law" where I wouldn't I'm not getting the answer after posting something on the topic :D
      I guess that explains how they managed to come up with so many models, so quickly. it might also explain some of the weird issues with Quality .Like the engine castings and the frame welds are actually really good. But then you find really "dumb" mistakes like the fork springs or the bad weld + bracket on the centre stand.

    • @obsolete.camper
      @obsolete.camper Месяц назад

      @@tomonabudget Not to be misunderstood. Aveta Ranger Max is a very reliable and well design "Scrambler kapcai". Although I have known all the possible production issues prior to my procurement of this bike, I never regret my decision. As long as all the known issues had been taken care, it will withstand high attitude terrain and from sub zero to tropical climate, which had been proven in many China vlogger's videos.

    What a sensible review! Of course we don’t get this machine in UK 🇬🇧 but your comments make a lot of sense to me. I have a Honda Innova (ANF125, a carb model) which I’ve much modified. Strangely it looks a lot like this bike, even to the colour. And I’ve even had some issues with my mods which you have with this machine (dip-stick under the exhaust!… I’ve re-modified that one🤔👍). I really like this sort of bike, but can’t afford / justify spending Honda prices on my hobby. Will look at some more of your videos. Thank you! Les in UK 🇬🇧

    hopefully Yamaha PG1 will be available in Malaysia soon

    • @tomonabudget
      @tomonabudget  Месяц назад

      It's certainly a good opportunity for Yamaha as Honda dropped the ball here. To everyone else's benefit.
      I've seen a few PG-1's in Thailand. My only complaint with the PG-1 would be the choice of wheels as they're rather small for a trail bike.
      Some people complain about the power, but I just haven't ridden one or any bike with that engine to provide good feedback. Reason: the power output per cc varies so much between engines it's crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if the piano company's 110cc engine pull harder than a 125cc Honda. The nmax 155 the I rode in Taiwan and showed in the video when I was talking about the seating position, was certainly pulling wayyyyyy above its weight! It felt more like a 200 to 250.
      I'm hoping that Yamaha might add CBS so it can be imported to Australia as we're truly starved for interesting small bikes there.

      @tomonabudget  12 дней назад

      I'd do the same today. I just don't know how good the quality assurance of a Chinese designed bike ks going to be in other countries.
      Honda tend to have more consistent quality regardless of country of manufacture.
      The XRM is an awesome little machine.
      I'd have to look up the Suzuki Raider J Crossover.

      It's like a Wave 110i.
      The low gearing helps it. My partner who weighs less than me and carried less luggage, managed to keep up with my wave125i.
      However it does lose power relatively quickly once yoy start exceeding 1300m or so in Altitude.

    Remove the shields wrap the pipe with exhaust wrap and then put the shields back on it'll make a world of difference

    • @tomonabudget
      @tomonabudget  Месяц назад

      I've done added some wrap onto an exhaust once. It's not something I'd recommend if there are alternatives. The reason is moisture. That wrap can trap water and cause the exhaust to rust, which I've read from a few people that found a lot of corrosion when they took the wrap off again.

    It seems also that Honda forgot about Europe to import the CT125, from all the current small Honda's it's the one that I most wish to own. Unfortunately this one won't be available too😢 , I don't see any AbS or combined braking system which is a No no for europe.😢😢

    • @tomonabudget
      @tomonabudget  Месяц назад

      As far as I know the CT125 is compliant with EU braking regulations as far as brakes are concerned.
      There dual channel ABS is only mandatory on bikes >250cc.
      Else Honda Germany wouldn't be selling the Dax an Monkey.
      Australia and New Zealand require Dual Channel ABS or CBS on anything >70cc.
      Why the CT125 was never imported into Europe?
      I have no idea. There's clearly demand for the bike and for some reason they refuse to bring it to many markets that really wan tit.

    • @tomonabudget
      @tomonabudget  Месяц назад +5

      I can only compare it to Honda Clone bikes, an Aldi pressure washer I used to own and a few impressions I got from people that owned Benelli's.
      I'd put it into the middle category when it comes to Chinese quality.
      Maybe on par with what I'd expect from a Benelli.
      It's certainly a lot better than the really cheap stuff which rattles, shakes, falls apart and has the clear plastics go all milky and yellow after 1 month.
