- Akasha, The Queen Of The Damned, will make her debut. For those of you who aren’t aware, Interview with the vampire has been renewed by AMC for a third season as the show continues to grow in popularity. Season 2 totally eclipsed its previous season in terms of popularity, expanding the immortal universe with an array of new characters that had appeared in the book version of the tale. Find out what else we're going to see in the next season.

Yes, her death definitely boosted the popularity of Akasha & the movie within itself but you cannot deny that she did an amazing job with what she had gotten to film before her passing.
As an Aaliyah fan as well as an Anne Rice fan, I went to see the movie for both of those reasons. Much like I did with “Interview with the Vampire”. I didn’t like that Antonio Banderas was casted as Armand nor did I like the idea of Tom Cruise being Lestat but enjoyed it because their acting sells itself.
Guess what I’m trying to say is, your viewpoint is completely valid, but I still feel whoever gets casted as Akasha will have to inevitably live up to the hype that Aaliyah has left surrounding that character!!
Let’s not act like Aaliyah wasn’t the reason the movie did well. Come on let’s be honest. Her death didn’t have anything to do with it. Sad yes the comment was unnecessary. I agree I would love to see the character Akasha but who do u think they will cast? A unknown or know actress and will it be a person of color ? Or will they go with more of the book descriptions of a pale woman

I jumped out of my seat when Lestat mentioned Those Who Must be Kept, completed geeked out. Then he mentioned Akasha and I was over the moon cause I knew it was going to get to her. I’m assuming they’re doing the books by release so when they finally get to Queen of the Damned, I’m going to cherish that season. Please guys let’s keep this show alive!
I will do with this series what I did for The Crown 👑. I wasn't interested a bit until The Diana season was announced. Emma Corrin blew me away with her powerhouse performance that ultimately made her a star. The actress casted for Akasha MUST have real star presence and enthralled the audience.

I meaaan. She played a fiercesome vampire for sure but from what I remember she mainly belly danced the entire film? I don’t remember her having many lines. Seems the role was a bit overrated due to her passing
Season two was fun. A real mini whirlwind. I had wished they would've given a buffer episode or more scenes with Claudia and Madeleine but alas, no fruit there.
Santiago gets a standing ovation from me. Ben Daniel's performance was incredible. He elevated our Buffoon to perfect Vampire Bouffon.
Santiago's death was lame tho , a little fight at least lol
Sam Reid has really put Lestae's famboyant chasmatic charms in the show. Now we'll get to c more of it next season. I hope Akasha will b played by a well picked choice of an actress. But Aaliyah will always b #1 in my eyes. I wanna c how witches and spirits r in this universe, mostly wanting to c Amel himself. It was said in book Amel looks like Lestat, but with pale skin, 6ft tall, bright green eyes, and red hair. I can c this show lasting for 13 season, as many as there r of books. It would offically b labeled as the 2nd longest supernatrual themed series, next to Supernatrual of 15.
I hope that they revamp(pardon the pun) the witches within the IU. I would like for them to completely change the Mayfair witches but I'd be satisfied if they fix those issues if/when the witches/spirits appear in IwtV and Talamasca.

This show is absolutely amazing. This reimagined story is so refreshing, entertaining, and addictive. The heart of the books is still present. People who are upset that its not exactly like the books clearly don't understand how adaptations work. I love all the Easter eggs they throw in there. The acting, production, and even the score is absolutely incredible. It's an emotional roller coaster I never want to get off 😭. I'm most excited for season 3 because I'm obsessed with Sam Reid's Lestat. I just wish they did a better job marketing this show because it's honestly Emmy worthy. Criminally underrated.
Akasha appears at the end of the second book, The Vampire Lestat. She abducts him when his music wakens her. It’ll be a brief cameo…but when they adapt Queen of the Damned…man! The writers have a lot to cover! That’s one of the most pivotal books in the series.
The changes are really exciting to think about. I've grown attached to Louis, so we'll see what it's like to have Lestat as the main character. In reading the books, I never considered him a more reliable narrator than Louis. In fact, him becoming a rock star seems to support Louis' portrayal of him in the show. But I'm actually most interested to see more of Malloy and what he does with vampirism, given how he has been as a human, and how he handles "the vampire bond" with his maker Armand, whom he despised as a human.
Armand wasn’t his maker in the books, the movie, orthe TV show. Lestat was already a vampire when he first encountered Armand in the TV show. I hope they give more on his origins in the TV show. I read Interview with a Vampire before the movie and i did not like him but The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned books made me understand and like him better

OMG SEASON 3!!! Just finished watching season 2 last night and the scene where they are both in tears just simply melted my heart!!! This version fleshes out IMO the main characters vs the original movie. The way Louis runs to hug Lestat at the end is magnificent and felt so right. While I like the portrayal of Santiago in this TV version I was sooo looking forward to a fight between both of them (besides the tongue grabbing scene ) but how Louis sliced him up was very satisfying lol. With Claudia and Madeleine the unfolding from season 1 into 2 was masterful and again made this version so much more believable as to why Claudia needed companionship w/ Madeleine. I agree with another poster the show is not getting its airtime w the media nor talk shows. Come on let’s push! Push ! Push! I am sooooo looking forward to S3 and beyond!!!
Just as a minor role. They need to wait for her till season 4 or 5. 3 should be based on the vampire lestat and him just meeting her at Marius home.

This show has been amazing. If you can get past the changes made, there's no way to NOT love this show. If Anne were still here (because she's definitely not a vampire watching from the shadows lol), I think she would love what they're doing with her work.

I am SO excited! I cannot wait to see how Sam expands Lestat's character. I love the glimpses of the 'real' Lestat we get in Season 2.

Seeing the “real” Lestat was so beautiful in the last episode of season 2, that I actually teared up. To see the love Lestat had/has for Louie was pure poetry.
And may I just say, THAT is how you do a same sex/gay romance my friends. Bravo!

I really loved both seasons. It's hard to pick a favorite!
The reunion scene is the one thing Lestat, in the books, claims not only didn't happen the way Louis said it did but that it never even happened at all. (Although Lestat also does admit to having been kind of out of his mind at the point and having spotty memory, which means Lestat might genuinely believe it never happened even if it did just because Lestat may not remember it. Ssoo.... We'll see what the tv series does with it or not.)
My choices for key characters for Season 3 of IWTV with The Vampire Lestat are Eve Best as fledgling/mother the Vampiress Gabrielle de Lioncourt. Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Akasha mother of all vampires and queen of all who are damned. Ian McDiarmid as Magnus who's Lestat's maker. Mads Mikkaelson as Mario De Romanus not only did he make Armand but is guardian of Those Who Must Be Kept in Greece.
It would be interesting to see gugu in the role of akasha because she and sam have worked together in the past they have good chemistry

Season two truly blew me away. VC is my favorite book series and I spent many years immersed in its characters and lore so the changes in season one were very hard to digest for me and I was a bit of a hater for it. But season two from the get go was so different. It was a much more confident show in its writing and presentation. The changes made sense and it added a lot more context and gravitas to the events. I am in love with the actors and how the captured the characters from the books and I can't wait for season 3. The way they are mixing things from later books already is so smart!

I thought that season 2 was far above and beyond season 1, as in season 2, we got to understand more about Claudia, her feelings, her wants and desires, and her loneliness. I really felt sorry for her, mainly because all of her undead life was not her choice. Now I am extremely excited about season 3, because I have read the books, and I am excited to see how they portray Lestat's life, before and after he becomes a vampire. The events are going to occur in a different era compared to the books, which I think, will give it a different perspective and a different feel all around.

i'm so excited! i was sat every Sunday for each new episode. i haven't been so into a show in years. the absolute just amazing casting and story telling in my opinion hasn't been seen since game of thrones!

I am so happy we are getting Lestat’s pov bc for the longest time we were getting everyone’s but not lestat. We are going to learn more about who is Lestat and what are his decisions when comes to dilemmas, much more.
My guess is that the Devil's Minion is either going to be another flashback sequence where we find out Armand screwed around with young Daniel and wiped his mind of it, or Armand tormenting vamp-Daniel because Daniel is too "okay" with getting changed, and he'd want Daniel to suffer.
I pray they keep akasha as a ehtinic person she is from modern day Iraq i dont want a white washing of the character

@@randomgeekcrapidk, I feel like they might? the show doesn’t give off diversity quota, it gives off more they love diversity regardless of race and wouldnt be opposed to casting a European to play Akasha. Which I’m not entirely against, a Greek woman playing Akasha would be kinda cool and would give cleopatra vibes. but I also hope they cast her as Iraqi, or preferably black, I say black because for some reason I feel like black people fit the “ancient immortal” image better, idky, but when I picture an ancient that’s been around for thousands of years for some reason they’re always black in my minds eye.

I can see the YOUNG 1970s Daniel in a short relationship with Armand ( maybe a “pre-first-interview” period of time that Armand made both Daniel and Louis forget?) But I can’t see a relationship between Armand and the older Daniel.

This is the time I shall start watching the show. I hope it's someone amazing and fascinating looking as Aaliyah, She was so enigmatic. I was enthralled by Aaliyah's look and character. If they cant keep up with Aaliyah, then I won't watch.
Season 2 was amazing! Even though a few things got altered, it did stay "spiritually" accurate. I don't think it will detract from the overall flow of the true story. But I'll just say I have been waiting so eagerly to see Sam get his full front and center stage to tell Lestat's story. Lestat is very complicated character, and unless you get his full story you can't really understand where all his anger and pain comes from. I know they will tell his story well with this next season, and I know Jacob is really to give it his all too. I really, really want to see who they cast as Marius and Akasha because of all the new characters, those two captivated me the most in the next two books. And I hope Armand's story gets fleshed out more too, because he has tragedy that needs to be told as well. Been loving this show and hope it continues.

Interesting how Enlil intertwined with Akasha in the storyline. Akasha was turned with Invocation of Set 🐍, not demonic possession like the story said.

Honestly growing up I remember watching interview with a vampire then going forward qotd came along and I didn’t know the book was expanded either so when I learned qotd was the the sequel to the movie interview with a vampire I learned it was book 3 in the series :0 I got audiobook credits I think imma start the book series from scratch. I’m actually about to go watch both movies now. I finished the current seasons and I’m hooked. Please pick a great actress for the queen 👸

I mean.... the last Vampire Chronicles books ever published said that Daniel and Armand had gotten back together, after Daniel had a temporary stint of being with Marius. Also, Daniel was the ONLY fledgling that Armand ever made, and Armand made Daniel a vampire specifically because Armand didn't want Daniel to die. (But you're going to say that Armand didn't really have much interest in Daniel? 🤔 😂)
Even in the tv series, Armand is like laser focused on Daniel a majority of the time.
It wouldn't surprise me if Armand didn't actually turn Daniel immediately after Louis left them, or if Armand and Daniel stayed together for a while after Daniel became a vampire if Armand did. Buut, we'll see, only time will tell! 😁😁

I'm wondering who's going to play Akasha?
I felt like the middle episodes were too chatty. They needed to intersperse some more action in between. What were Claudia and Madeleine doing while they were away? I would have like to see them build up their connection so it would be more painful to see Madeleine's death. Claudia's death was tragic. And I felt like Louis' revenge tour was rushed. I could have done with less of his madness and more on the theater fire and I felt like they rushed Santiago's death. The telepathic conversation they were having was brutal but it ended so quickly. Ben Daniels was amazing. And what can you say about Sam Reid? He is just superb. He's magnetic and everything you'd imagine Lestat to be. He definitely deserves an Emmy. Can't wait for the 3rd season. Thank you for the videos! They are so fun to watch.
