Im still so fuckin here for these newer viddys. You always been the most informed & on point dt creator. This "new" yoy is gonna go super far. You deserve & have earned it.
Something I love about this fury build is that while there are BIS weapons you can run, you can basically also just run whatever you enjoy. You have endless TR and throwing knives, you're going to get through what you're fighting no matter what. Been running something very similar and it's been great for off-meta weapon grinds or just weapons I'm new to using.
I used to run one of the Tac Axes before the update which gave Zealot Dueling Swords and it was a great armoured killer but now since DS is on Zealot i've been running that :)
Yeah, in my view right side fury path even enables so many off meta weapons like crusher, heavy sword and evicerator because it keeps up your 50% dmg reduction, more charges for speed of weapon and your increases overall damage (from more crits) without having to ramp up your stacks so often because it takes longer to kill an elite or boss.

I appreciate your work buddy, keep up the phenomenal work
12:46 It's not optimal for damage, but from this setup you can rip out the 4 point investment to Duelist to pick up 20% cooldown reduction on backstab kills, which becomes insanely easy to do with shroudfield. Add the sprint speed right next to it and an extra point wherever and you've got the fastest cooldown and literal fastest class with a fancy dagger on top. Less damage pumping but you do turn into a cloakable racecar
I found it so interesting when you commented on Shroudfield and on how it can make you worse, if you play with it too much. I had this feeling often with it and with other items in games and i thought i was going full-circle and crazy. Its good that it is relatable; i don't like to not have to think when Im playing something

Your explanations are super clear and concise. And you dont spend the first 4 minutes of your video with a long introduction. You just get right into it, and it makes your videos so much better.
Great video again Tanner, thank you. This build is almost exactly what I've been running on my zealot the last 4 months, but I've recently swapped to Thunder Hammer + Flamer for more challenge and weapon variety (since I run boltgun on my vet most of the time now).

I'm surprised none of these builds use Inexorable Judgement, but iirc your own tier list said it was the best keystone for Zealot. Especially for Shroudfield, it seems strange to take Blazing Piety over this.
@@EcchiRevenge you didn't seem to understand the Statement. It wasn't about taking shroudfield over dash, it's about why not pairing shroudfield with the left keystone as it seems better for shroudfield specifically
Honestly blazing piety is a lot better than I gave it credit for and since the dueling sword doesn't really need any more base damage and the bolter doesn't need any attack speed that consistent crit ends up being significantly more valuable it's also a lot better placed for benediction
@@TannerLindberg That's fair. They're both strong. Which one I take on a build is usually a question of which makes me sacrifice fewer nodes I want with the pathing.
@@gotnicerfeet Any weapon that can get a crit blessing like Riposte or Shred can easily maintain Enduring Faith, which includes the duelling sword from this video. He's just chosen not to take those blessings and used Blazing Piety instead.
a question in case anyone gets to read this: what is the rationale for thrust on duelling sword? in my (limited) testing it seemed to kill things either slightly faster or much slower than just using regular heavies. is it mostly just to max out charge crits?
It's usually to get a breakpoint you couldn't get otherwise, many long hour player like to mess around with builds, and missing some damage from the skill tree can be mitigated with something like thrust especially when you pair it with attack speed.
Thanks for the video Tanner. I know it's meme tier for you, but it'd be really funny to see your take on an ideal Ogryn some day. Consider it a challenge!
I've been using basically the same build recently. I play with randoms so I had to switch to Stun nades, because having to revive everyone 2 times per mission wasn't all too comfortable. Also, it's kinda neat how Bolter returned back to the similar spot it had for me during earlier versions of the game. I used it for control and sniping back then. Bursting 1 or 2 crushers was always just an "oh shi-" function afaic.
So after 3000+ hours of playing just my veteran, I finally got bored and started up a Zealot. I just got him to 30 last night, first thing I did was throw on Tanner's Fury build and hop into an Auric damn Comms-plex HISTG. Special spam was insane and I pulled out two 10 minutes clutches over the course of the mission while barely taking damage. That build's cracked af.
Mr. Lindberg, I have a question! Why do you say Uncanny Strikes and Thrust over Precognition for the Dueling Sword Blessings? I just went over your Uncanny vs Precog video and it feels like Precog would make more sense in a dodge/crit build like the ones you showed. And is Thrust better at taking down Crushers than Precog, or is this all just personal preference/playstyle?
Everything comes down to personal preference/playstyle especially when people talk about "meta". There are blessings that are better than others obviously, however you can make anything work as long as you have skill, map knowledge and situational awareness.
Im really looking forward to the Ogryn meta video to be totally honest. I know Ogryn probably suffers the most from it being difficult to make a build that covers all your bases like the other classes but gosh darn it I'm really curious to see people's opinions on the big guy when you do try to push it to it's limits.
I'm just getting back into Darktide and was thinking about reading up on the meta. Lucky me! Are there other weapon set-ups for other roles like horde clearing? Or is Zealot just the best single-target DPS, so leave other roles to others?
Probably go for pruge the unclean and sustained assault if you want even more horde clear. Otherwise I like the MK IX Heavy sword with head taker, death blow, flak and crit chance, charge, fury for a pretty nasty mixed horde mower but you'll want to take a ranged weapon decent against crushers like revolver (Carapace, elites, handcannon surgical + anoint inblood for 2 hit head shot from medium range) or boltgun. It's not the most meta build but I have gotten 850k damage from it.
@@TannerLindberg I took your primary build, made a couple tweaks, and have been really enjoying it. I prefer Immolation Grenades to throwing knives (dropped Second Wind and Ambuscade for it), and I switched to Infectious Zeal because I like buffing the team. I'm curious what you think of the Ogryn class; not his talent tree or weapon, but just his default state of being. Such as how him being taller affects the game, how his bigger hitbox affects gunners in particular etc
A fun challenge is to translate the Tigrus Mk XV into the DSIV stats to meet break points as there is some similar damage yet different move sets, yet Perfect Strike and Bloodthirsty can be similar in idea, much like Bolt Weapons vs Stub Revolvers compared competition of compared transmissions... Want to know what your thoughts are Tanner? Some fun food for conversation and content as you are making great ideas and breaking through walls of the game

Hello, Thank you for the video. I was a little suprise to not see a Momentum build in the different build you talk about. Always though that Momentum had a little more skillcap than Blazing Piety but greater damage when execute well. Did it receive a nerf or have i just overestimate Momentum ?
Ngl I have PTSD seeing throwing knives due to the number of times I'm watching a zealot flail around when someone is downed instead of being able to drop a grenade and reset the fight.
You mentioned in a recent video about momentum outperforming blazing piety. would you say that is no longer the case or is it just that it's more point economical for the piety setup? Or is it that for a general audience meta build piety is easier to make use of then momentum?
Good video. Not what I do right now but I get it. Zealots are always interesting because you always have to sacrifice something. Whenever I've talked to anyone about loner they've said its just to spend less talent points, I think that is a poor trade but I've tried it. Reddit's loner villain is pretty rare. There are like 5 people who actually queue up intending to ditch the team at the start who can pull that off.
I havent gone very high in difficulty yet as i just got into the game but ive loved shroud as more of a «oh shit this elite is gonna be a problem» and use it to reposition and one tap anything i need to. I see how its busted for sure, although i dont take full advantage.
New to the channel, and great and informative vids - especially for those of us coming back after a long break. However, for all that is holy, will someone please explain why Tanner is butchering the pronunciation of riposte? I've noticed it in other videos as well. I feel like I'm not in on a joke or something
I like how I have roughly about 600 hours in this game and EACH AND EVERY DAY I find new things about it that I had to idea were in it to begin with...what's a "super crit"? I've never heard of that before. Can someone please shine some light on that?
@@TannerLindberg Been back and forth myself. The consistency is good on high finesse weapons, and c/d on crit is easier to grab, but I really value the momentum dodge buffs. You're right, zealot is really contentious lol
I use the bolter on my zealot almost exclusively to magdump into bosses and was wondering why you've got pinning fire on there if you agree. Is it just to help with rager packs? I was pretty unimpressed with puncture when I tested it out, but felt like shattering impact still seemed to help the team take down bosses faster.
"puncture is huge on monsters since it scales extra well with shattering impact." this is getting its own video its so so not true it makes the bleed go from 132 to 180 a tick which is not at all worth caring about.
Hi, im mentally stuck at the point where you say that more than 50% crit chance is a dps loss. Can you explain why? Not only due you make even better use of fury rising, the damage still increases. In all games i know 100% crit chance is desired. How does Darktide differ? Thanks in advance!
Did I say 50? Uh oh I meant 70% so crit chance is desired how ever opportunity cost exists. This is kind of complicated so I'll do my best to explain. You cant crit harder. So 70% chance to hit means 7 out of ten hits are crits. If INVESTING in getting to 80% crit chance MEANS NOT INVESTING in base damage of say 25% that 1 crit added over ten hits IS A DPS LOSS to just attacking more or each crit being enhanced.
So is Momentum not trendy anymore? I recall you just recently proclaimed it the greatest, while claiming Blazing piety had lost your confidence. Also is sprint efficiency not something to useful on Zealot over 3 stam regens?
no and i dont think i ever said it was a real dump stat. just that it ISNT the end all be all since it doesn actually give nearly as much damage as people think.
So question, has something suddenly changed since the previous time zealot was brought up when it comes to momentum? Or are they still both interchangeable like you said last time
Good points overall. I'm just frustrated with the Dueling Sword on this class as it makes a lot of the other choices pretty much pointless. I mean you CAN run something different, but there's simply no reason to as this weapon does everything.
PC is easier as it allows for more snap movements. Game knowledge is the most important element for success here, though, so if you do your homework and play enough you'll be better than 99.9% of PC players as a console player.
I don't like invisibility in these games in general because you just don't have to interact with the game. At least smite bubble falls off with very dense mixed hordes in the higher difficulties

I would love to hear your reasoning on left capstone against right one. I feel like loner - shroud combo can save a lot of points going right instead.
Psyker next? :3
Ngl I have PTSD seeing throwing knives due to the number of times I'm watching a zealot flail around when someone is downed instead of being able to drop a grenade and reset the fight.
I think 400 rating Stamina Curios are bugged. Thes show +3 Stamina but round down to +2 Stamina in game.
So No Book?
Also what happened to Sprint Efficiency+Block Efficiency?
eh its to competitive for them imo toughness has really gotten alot better
I thought the video was muted for like the first few seconds. 😅
Im new to the game and im wondering if i could use the heavy eviscerator with this?
You mentioned in a recent video about momentum outperforming blazing piety. would you say that is no longer the case or is it just that it's more point economical for the piety setup? Or is it that for a general audience meta build piety is easier to make use of then momentum?
i think its both tbh.
So you think blazing piety is better than momentum now?
yeah its ESPECIALLY better for d sword
That's a really nice bolter skin tanner how'd you get it?
no pious cut throat?
just too expensive?
Meta zealot builds that doesn't use stealth ? fucking finally, we eating good with this one, Pilgrims !
Question: What makes you swap from Momentum to Piety? Is it to save Points?
Amazing work
I havent gone very high in difficulty yet as i just got into the game but ive loved shroud as more of a «oh shit this elite is gonna be a problem» and use it to reposition and one tap anything i need to.
He has arrived.
I like how I have roughly about 600 hours in this game and EACH AND EVERY DAY I find new things about it that I had to idea were in it to begin with...what's a "super crit"? I've never heard of that before. Can someone please shine some light on that?
Recently you said that uncanny strike is not so good. Whu do you use it in this video?
Hey Tan, just curious why you go Piety over momentum?
i kind of feel like piety might be better i wanna make a video talking about it.
@@TannerLindberg Been back and forth myself. The consistency is good on high finesse weapons, and c/d on crit is easier to grab, but I really value the momentum dodge buffs. You're right, zealot is really contentious lol
I started playing darktide yesterday I wonder how long it will take me get those meta builds going xD
We got polite Tanner before GTA6.
Psyker meta build next pls pls
I use the bolter on my zealot almost exclusively to magdump into bosses and was wondering why you've got pinning fire on there if you agree. Is it just to help with rager packs? I was pretty unimpressed with puncture when I tested it out, but felt like shattering impact still seemed to help the team take down bosses faster.
"puncture is huge on monsters since it scales extra well with shattering impact." this is getting its own video its so so not true it makes the bleed go from 132 to 180 a tick which is not at all worth caring about.
How are you getting 330 a tick? I consistently get 180 ticks on mag dumps
I'm surprised it's not using a flamer, I guess I'll have to give boltgun a try now. :)
i tried this build, sooo gud everything just melts
Wait, isn't momentum better overall than blazing piety?
Lets go new tanner video whooo
@TannerLindberg yeah I get it. Simplified it's 3x1=3 is less DMG than 2x2=4.
So is Momentum not trendy anymore? I recall you just recently proclaimed it the greatest, while claiming Blazing piety had lost your confidence.
Also is sprint efficiency not something to useful on Zealot over 3 stam regens?
nah its been mostly replaced with piety.
With recent changes is damage still an ideal dump stat?
no and i dont think i ever said it was a real dump stat. just that it ISNT the end all be all since it doesn actually give nearly as much damage as people think.
@@TannerLindberg What would be the general dump stat according to you?
So question, has something suddenly changed since the previous time zealot was brought up when it comes to momentum? Or are they still both interchangeable like you said last time
i think piety is better now tbh/ i have been piety pilled
@TannerLindberg piety gang indoctrinated you quick holy, it's only been a couple weeks, I'll have to start changing some stuff back then
Question: is the zealot excluded from finding 17% thoughnes curios? I have a hard time finding 17% curios, but no problem 21% Heath curios
That helped. Thank you.
How do you get sainted tier?
Am I trippin' or is your zealot wearing veteran's chest piece?
Good points overall. I'm just frustrated with the Dueling Sword on this class as it makes a lot of the other choices pretty much pointless. I mean you CAN run something different, but there's simply no reason to as this weapon does everything.
God I love your videos
Is blood redemption not good?
Genuine question about discord would it matter if im on console? Cause I dont think high skill player want a console player joining them.
