Thanks Dave, longer term reviews are really useful. I remember when you got it and have been waiting for the “sweeping up carbon on the A38” video but it seems better than I thought. For our little hatchback I started with a saris solo - so poor I used it twice and could not hand on heart sell it. One of its feet lift no matter how hard you crank the straps. Moved to a second hand Thule roof set up which has been great.
Thank you. I was also concerned about that! I’ve not used the saris solo, not sure which model I have but it was nice and secure…it just blocks most of my view.
I like the idea of putting the suction cups on the fork before placing on the car. Most of the people I've seen doing reviews put the suckers on top of the car first and then try to balance the bike over the suckers.
nice to hear you have had no problems. The other huge advantage of these racks is just how portable and transferable it is, like if you are travelling to go ride you can just take your rock bros rack and slap it on a rental car or on a mates car, etc...
Useful info many thanks. My MTB really struggle with conventional roof carriers so been thinking of something along these lines. Nothing beats the test of time..
Thanks Dave...enjoy the week with kiddo ...I have a rack that mounts to a trailer hitch at the rear bumper .I don't have to lift the bikes up , and it folds out of the way . NOT cheap , however , but well worth it , to me .
Bout to use mine for the first time today to pick up my new bike so I'm scrambling watching videos for assurance LOL. Great review and also sweet neck tats, looks sick with the sweater!
It depends on the frame… Front sizes… 12 x 100mm Road, Gravel 15 x 100mm (non-Boost) Mountain, Gravel, Road 15 x 110mm (Boost) Mountain 20 x 100mm (non-Boost)*Downhill 20 x 110mm (Boost)*Downhill
Just used mine for the first time today, i was petrified haha! But like you say its very sturdy i just made sure i wiped the roof with water and a microfibre cloth. Have you taken it on the motorway thats something im not sure about 😅
I have the 3 bike version, great rack holds bikes really good!
Good to hear.
Good review Dave. Good to know you’ve had it 3 years without a problem. 😎👍🏻
👌🏼 thank you

That Micra is a beaut!!
Thank you. 🙏🏽
thanks for the long term review - good to know you've not had any issues and can recommend it, cheers
Genuinely surprised it didn’t fly off the roof 😂

I really like it…although wouldn’t use it for a really heavy bike.

I’d love a trailer hitch rack but my car is too low so it would catch on the floor all the time. 😂🤦🏻♂️
@@DaveNoakes ah man. Sorry , be well.

Glad I could help. How did you get on with it? Did the bike stay on?
@@DaveNoakes I was freaked out the whole time but it stayed solid!
Hey great video but how do I know what size attachments I need for my thru axle ?
It depends on the frame…
Front sizes…
12 x 100mm Road, Gravel
15 x 100mm (non-Boost) Mountain, Gravel, Road
15 x 110mm (Boost) Mountain
20 x 100mm (non-Boost)*Downhill
20 x 110mm (Boost)*Downhill
So can you put your fixie bolted axle thingys….?Can’t think of the word 🤣
Yep a track or bolt in hub fits using the QR
@@DaveNoakes with qr ok would love to see how that works…
did it damage the roof in some way?
Nope not at all

I haven’t tried it properly…I use it for shorter journeys…that said my car won’t go that fast so I doubt it’ll fall off 😂
Micra looks sick ✊️
👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼
Thanks Dave.
No car, but that was a great review.
Thanks mate
What's the heaviest bike you put on this?
My mtb is around 17kgs…it was fine but it did kinda scare me
I do like a nice bike rack
Me too 😂
