    Or I suppose you could just use an installer usb in addition to the blank usb. Just follow the normal installation process except it is a usb drive and not an ssd or hdd.

    • @joemann7971
      @joemann7971 2 года назад

      I think it's so that the drive is unformatted when you start the installation. I guess you could just delete the partition during installation as well.

    • @stefanmoscalu4473
      @stefanmoscalu4473 2 года назад

      it's the same if you use diskpart, then select the usb device, and run the command clean

  • @kiensamac
    @kiensamac Год назад

    Tips:
    - If you delete the partition on the USB then your computer cannot see it anymore, try to format the USB to FAT32
    - Run the VMWare as administrator

    This host supports Intel VT-x, but Intel VT-x is disabled.
    Intel VT-x might be disabled if it has been disabled in the BIOS/firmware settings or the host has not been power-cycled since changing this setting.
    (1) Verify that the BIOS/firmware settings enable Intel VT-x and disable 'trusted execution.'
    (2) Power-cycle the host if either of these BIOS/firmware settings have been changed.
    (3) Power-cycle the host if you have not done so since installing VMware Workstation.
    (4) Update the host's BIOS/firmware to the latest version.
    This host does not support "Intel EPT" hardware assisted MMU virtualization.
    VMware Workstation does not support the user level monitor on this host.
    Module 'MonitorMode' power on failed.
    Failed to start the virtual machine.
    Umm... now what?
    followed exactly and this popped up when powering on the virtual machine.

    it would be cooler if you have it as a dual boot, for example you install windows then you use balena something i forgot the name- to make the usb a dual boot or smth like this- then after you have the usb in restart windows and while it's restarting you keep pressing f12 till' a screen with "USB device" appears and you press enter then install grub after that when you open your pc it will show: run windows or linux?
    It's pretty cool ngl
    Also I commented that using linux :]]]

      It may be as simple as changing the uefi, secure boot, and legacy settings in your bios, if your bios is set to boot uefi, try legacy, lmk if that fixes your issue

    I can’t use the USB in any pc because the wifi doesn’t work

    • @tylerdean980
      @tylerdean980 3 года назад +1

      Use a distro that has good wifi support. Linux Mint works great, never found a PC that that didn't work on. Though it will likely install the drivers for the computer you did the install on, you might have to install the drivers for other wireless chips that you know you're going to run into, so that way you can have the packages before you get there.

      @@tylerdean980 thanks for replying, how can I install the drivers the drivers for other wireless chips?

    • @tylerdean980
      @tylerdean980 3 года назад

      @@modernity3323 a lot of major ones are built into the Linux kernel, those you need to do nothing. The ones that aren't, you can install from the package manager. For example, for broadcom wireless, if you do "apt search broadcom", the terminal will show you every package and driver that is available for that manufacturer. Just think about the computers that you're most likely to come across, like friend's machines, or parents or whatever, then you will have an idea of what you need to install.
