Storyline:
A frontier family is celebrating the return of a gift-bearing father when the Indians attack, killing everyone but the young daughter they carry off as a captive.
Flash forward several years, and hostilities between the whites and the Indians are still raging, with members of the Arikara tribe determined to go on the warpath to make the whites pay for a recent massacre.
Kite (Jeff Cameron) will have the privilege of leading the Arikara warriors into battle, though his pretty lover Loana (Stefania Nelli) has premonitions that all might not end well.
Nevertheless, Kite and his men ambush a cavalry caravan, making off with a large supply of guns and two captive troopers, one of whom is badly wounded.
Loana sneaks into the teepee where the prisoners are being held one night, intent on killing that captive. Until she notices the necklace around his neck. It’s identical to one she’s worn most of her life.
Then the memories of that long-ago attack on the frontier family come flooding back. She was the young girl captured; the wounded soldier is the brother she presumed was dead.

Oh the uniforms! Suspenders (never worn), a yellow stripe down the legs of every man (only officers had that), yellow neckerchief (never worn), rank insignia on the shirt (insignia was worn on a jacket, never on the shirt, and the shirt was grey and worn under the jacket), Winchester rifles (US Cavalry used the single-shot Springfield carbine, Winchester rifles were never used by the army). Could they get it any more wrong?

Its hollywood also cowboys were ranchers not gunfighter gunfights were usually caused by gambling or alcohol which is why they banned them gunfighter weren't heroes they were murderers and scum exactly what they were. People didn't have a problem with Indians most of the conflict were with the government who ofcourse were democrats but they lie and say Republicans did it and their cult believes anything they say without question.

Nice cowboy movie in colorful character ( Thanks Gringo) ...its story completely created by US official opinion about Red Indian tribes its story far from reality 180 degrees ...Red Indian tribes had internal attacking & Battels among their tribes. Yes they had primitive or Savagery behaviors but their struggling against US armies & US army Mercenaries considered as Self defense & defends on their whole essential factors of their lives (surviving ).Whey white human surviving in Western Side blessed by US Propaganda but Red Indian members trying for (surviving) not acceptable ???

Well-meaning Western made by Spanish-Italian producers. One of the few Spaghetti Westerns made with cavalry and Indians theme and that too without demonising either the cavalry or the Indians. Weaknesses of most s[aghetti Westerms have affected this movie too, viz. weak story line, whites taking unconvincing Indian roles, historic and tribal details and costumes glossed over, etc. White child reared by Indians with Indian loyalty could have been handled more realistically. Indian chief committing suicide on capture of his tribe does not sound authentic as Indians do not subscribe to suicide as an honourable solution to their existential problem. Most chiefs fought as long as possible and mostly surrendered as they considered at last that saving the seed of their tribe was more important than their personal honour and victory in war. Even so, this spaghetti Western has dealt with a theme seriously and is qualitatively superior to most films of similar parentage without indulging in needless sex and violence.
