      DRY HEAT!!! hilarious!!!
I was told all my life that Texas was a dry heat and dummy me believed it.
So the first time I ever went there we had been in the car for many hours so the temperature was staying nice and cool inside with the AC.
We rolled into the parking lot of the hotel and I made the mistake of opening the door without proper precautions which apparently would have been soaking bath towels in cold water and wrapping them around my body... Or at least something!.
So I opened the car door and melted onto the parking lot.

I used to live in McKinney, I remember the day it burned to ashes. I was a somewhat poor man, I had no car, and I had a basic, small but strong brick house. I woke up one morning at about 6:30am to see on the news that a large fire appeared in the center of town with no explanation, and that it was spreading too fast for firefighters to extinguish. From there I just made sure to not go to the center of town until the fire was put out. From there, at about 7:00am I heard that the fires were spreading and engulfing the streets surrounding the center of town, causing people to have to leave, although many people died before they could escaoe to a safer area of town. About 15 minutes later at 7:15am, the local government was urging any able bodied residents to immediately volunteer to fight the fire and possibly push it back some. The battle against the fire seemed to be not pushing it back, but at least stopping the spread, however by about 9:00am, the majority of people were out of water and other supplies, and from there, the operation had to be abandoned and mandatory evacuation orders were given. But then, something very bad happened at about 9:02am, the fires instantaneous spread 5 miles in every direction, so many people died, I could hear the screams echoing from that part of town. I was in a firetruck, but the firetruck ran out of fuel, so I, the driver, and the rest of the passengers had to abandon it and keep running. However, suddenly around 9:45am, tiny sparks were flying around the entire town, and within about 2 minutes, I heard explosions everywhere, at this time, I was about at the McKinney city limits. Finally, I reached the end of the city limits, once I reached them though and left town... I just couldn't go on, I stood, watching McKinney, or what was McKinney perhaps, burn. I remember hearing the final scream as it faded away, from there, I knew that most of the population didn't make it out alive, and that the town would never be the same, I also knew that the fires would probably keep spreading, that's when I had to make the decision, do I go on?. So I had to press on, but when I decided to keep going, I saw that the fires had nearly caught up with me, but then I saw something strange... they didn't spread outside McKinney, everything was fine in Greenville where I was, so I just walked deeper into Greenville and started my life over. This tragedy was many years ago, and I have managed to fix my life again, but I will deep inside, never be the same after that day.

Absolutely! Pete Delkus used to be on Channel 9 in Cincinnati. He is serious when he has to be, like when he stayed on the air for over 24 hours straight during & after the deadly Montgomery-Blue Ash tornado in 1999. But, it's too bad that some people are so petty that they demand an apology just because you aren't as miserable as they are--even in Texas!

There's a lot of people on here who are trying to say that the weather station has to "apologize" for this malfunction. While they aren't "necessarily" wrong the apology was also clearly made in jest. The apology itself made fun of the situation and jokingly said that it wasn't actually a sabotage. The reason so many people are claiming they actually had to apologize is because some random news station tried to make it seem like it was a genuine apology. Here is a direct quote of the "apology"
"We're sorry, McKinney Our heat index map mistakenly said it felt like 101105 degrees in McKinney yesterday. @wfaaweather handled it the way you might expect - and no, it wasn't @JesseWFAA's fault 😂 For the record, the real heat index was *only* 105"
