Hi Bob and Jenny. We are total newbies to motorhoming, having been resolute caravanners for over 40 years until this August! Then we found your library of wide-ranging videos on RUclips and are now resolute followers. You two have been such a wonderful source of advice and comfort to us as we follow our new learning curve, and we really enjoy your travelling videos - maybe we prefer the travelling and arriving videos more than the walks through the woods, but they are all interesting. We wonder what is going to happen with towing with an A-frame when they become illegal in the not too distant future. Any ideas ???

Thank you, I hadn't heard anything about changing the legality of A Frames, but that would be a bad step. Sooner or later we will probably have to get a trailer, because our next or next but one car may be electric and you can't flat tow electric cars.

Hi Bob and Jenny. My wife and I are not "motorhomers" but, being of similar ages and wider interests, thoroughly enjoy your videos and following your adventures.
And don't be too hard on your selves about your "How To Make Videos" series. I personally found these to be invaluable, because they covered slowly and carefully, the ways in which videos can be made, edited and then set up on RUclips. Your videos are superior to the many tutorial videos on RUclips, which still tend to make assumptions about the viewer's knowledge, and take too many shortcuts. Your videos encouraged me to start with a Crosstour camera and edit with adobe premier elements, and "have a go". I thoroughly enjoy the filming. Best wishes for 2021. Christopher and Pamela.
Thank you very much, glad you found them useful. it is difficult to decide what videos to make especially when I know it has limited appeal to my normal audience. I am glad I made those videos, as I was asked by people how I made videos.

I thoroughly enjoy all of your videos, and I have especially liked the ones where you showed Jenny how you edited and put together your videos. Your planning and using data base videos are excellent too - I like detailed planning and organisation. Keep up the good work. Let's hope we can all be out travelling soon, but living in Wales we have no 'roadmap' or been given any dates or glimmers of hope yet.

U just have to get used to the fact that by the time we get to our age we feel that we've earned the right to bore anyone into submission. Lol. Your channel, to me, is a dairy of what interests you two and it brings us along on your journey. We are lucky that the vast majority of what you do is interesting to us, however, we should not expect 100% . Keep enjoying what you do and make that the only reason that you do it. Onwards and upwards. Lastly I have relocated to SE Asia and what Bob and Jenny do is more heartwarming and real, for me the expat, than watching the overly dramatic stuff served up on mainstream media: plus Bob and I went to the same school around the same time although I don't think we met. Respect to you both.

Hi Bob & Jenny, having just watched this video, We wanted to encourage you to carry on doing all you are doing. Your ‘making a video on how to make a video’ series has been so helpful to us. We have watched them through a number of times, as I’ve learned how to use Premier. There may be many videos on RUclips, on the subject, but your’s are so easy to understand, as you go through, step by step, and not rush through it. Also, when people ask questions in the motorhome Facebook Groups, we always recommend they look at your channel, as we have found it so helpful. Wishing you both a lovely Christmas. x

I love your videos, they are like having a day out with friends. My parents had a caravan when I was a teenager and I felt priviledged to have been all over mainland Britain, so love "going with you" to visit places I visited a long time ago. xx

I am always in awe of the dedication you and Jenny show. I didn't realise how much effort you put in, they always say an expert makes it look easy ans natural. I spent all of yesterday afternoon using my phone to record a 5 minute presentation about myself and my new 4x4 for a customer advisory panel. Everything you talked about went wrong. I had no tripod so had to use a brick to prop the phone up, the lighting in the car was awful, it sounded as though I was filming in a toilet. My dialogue was full of "erms" and "ahs" even though I knew what I was going to say. I struggled to download the clip as my system was too old. I didn't do any editing or B roll. The icing on the cake came when I looked at what others had done and posted
The other owners had produced film studio standards, with perfect presentation, sets and scripts. I was so embarassed and disappointed that I told them I was withdrawing from the panel. I thought it was so easy. Respect to you Bob, I will remain a viewer rather than a presenter. Guy.
Yes, and some people say to us all you need to do is get your phone out and talk to it...

We never used to watch RUclips, then Covid hit and Lockdown followed! Stuck at home and thinking it would be so much fun to buy a motorhome and get out and about, we clicked onto RUclips looking for hints and tips about owning one. We strayed across your channel and have followed your adventures and advice on motorhomes ever since. Sitting at home, we feel we have travelled with you to so many places we wouldn't otherwise have seen and have enjoyed the journey very much. We have since bought our own motorhome and can't wait to have our own adventures. Thank you both very much for keeping us going in such strange times!

Hi Bob and Jenny, I’ve watched lots of your videos and I always enjoy them. I find you make them very interesting. Even when you have looked back over past videos and you have thought ‘ ooh shouldn’t have done that’ at the time we would have accepted it. It’s only when you look back as technology has moved on. I also loved your videos when you say your waffling. I find it very amusing as you are quite funny , keep up the good work xx

I am a new owner. I have found your videos extremely helpful, you share your experience without talking down to us, I found your video on cleaning the toilet cassette very helpful. I have bought some of the products you have reviewed and they have been perfect for our needs, the extendable waste hose is brilliant. Your arrival videos are helping us decide on sites to visit, the desert rats base in thetford forest is high on our list. I can never understand why people have to deride and insult someone who genuinely is trying to help others. I also enjoy your collaboration videos, they show the different styles of presentation but all still have that desire to help owners new and old. Please keep the videos coming.

I agree with that comment. We've just started vlogging and I had a thumbs down and that upset me as I wouldn't even do that to somebody, let alone leave a mean remark. If I don't like it I turn off.
Your videos are interesting and informative, particularly the arriving at ones. Jenny is right. If you have a point to make you should start and end on a positive. Quite frankly, anyone who is rude enough to say something is boring so they are unsubscribing you are better off without. We look forward to following you both in the New Year.
I bloody love you both. I’ve been watching you for years. I feel like you edit less and we get to see exactly how you both are. You’ve made me and the other half believe we will be motor homer’s one day. Fantastic escapism. We cried with laughter when you took a wrong turn and ended up on a ferry crossing. I rarely watch tv anymore. Loved also when you, Bob, took poppy for the walk where she got covered in muck! It started to rain, you kept going. Jenny was back in the swift, and you persevered for as long as you could. Your vlogs are probably far from perfect for some, but that’s exactly what we love. Seeing you. ❤️

I was one that enjoyed your "Jenny learns to edit" series (and watched it to the end) and your occasional video equipment videos. I am sure that if we all go back to our first videos we cringe and comment on how we have improved.
I am not a fan of live streams on RUclips, I have watched far too many that consist of "Hello Joe", " Hello Father Christmas, glad you could make it" with very little content. Although it is an easier way to produce a video by removing all editing, it puts all the technical issues in the finished article and adds pressure to monitor audio and video while speaking and sound interesting.
Keep up the good work and keep improving; you will even if you are not aware of it.
Precisely, plus you get the "have a missed anything", the same question asked 20 times by the same person and all the technical issues and pressure to answer.

When it comes to Motorhome channels, I watch many but only subscribe to two. That's you and Jenny,, and Ads and Zoe. I found you both by accident I may add, when we bought 'Pippin' last August. Ads and Zoe are so laid back, I could see myself enjoying a beer or six in their company, and you and Jenny are just lovely. Your advise and knowledge about motorhomes is invaluable. YOU ARE NOT BORING. I really enjoy your 'Arriving at' videos. As a key worker, they have helped me through the lockdowns. It's as though I'm sitting in Jenny's seat and out on a road trip. It certainly takes my mind away from the thought of work the next day. We're just hoping that the situation is better next year and that we can get away. Aw, it's good that you can learn from any "mistakes" - we all make them, it's just we don't all make them publicly lol! There's no way you can please everyone all the time with your content - but look how many followers you have - definitely doing it right! Love watching you two and Poppy - you are very natural in front of the camera and there's nothing wrong with "talking to each other" rather than of the camera! Being shy isn't a fault - you do you x I am learning a lot from your channel and hope to visit some of the sites you have reviewed over the years once we are allowed to get out and about again! Hi Both. I really enjoy all of your uploads. A question please. I'm hoping to get my first motorhome/ campervan in the new year. What would be your advice /opinion be based on your experience on the best makers layout for two single beds or a double fixed . My partner has MS and I think the ones where you have a high bed at the back with steps or one where you lower a bed would be a no no. Budget is 20k-30k so used . Many thanks
I really can't give advice on what to buy, it is a personal thing, but have you talked to anyone who adapts motorhomes?
Personally I’m not a fan of the “live” video format and tend to skip those when they pop up from any of the RUclipsrs I watch. They just seem a bit stressful all round. I especially like your walk throughs of new vans, I don’t think any other RUclips channel comes close to you on those.
Yes, I tend to agree with you on livestreams there. I think they are useful if it's more 'reporter at the scene' type material.

Hello Bob and Jenny, love your videos. Have you ever thought about using the go pro app which means your be able to see what the camera’s are seeing on your phone/tablet. Using the app will mean you can get cameras set up using the app as a display screen.
Yes, could do that and I have used it before, but it drains the battery and you can't do that out and about. A front screen is so much easier to use.

We've only just started vlogging and got a thumbs down the other day and I felt quite upset about it. Silly really when I suppose it's just part and parcel of vlogging really. Nice to see that such seasoned professionals have had issues in the past too. Shows we're all just human.
Yes, it's hard to not get upset when someone doesn't like your hard work, but you never really know why you get thumbs down, they don't come with an explanation. So I don't worry about them nowadays. Harder still is when people criticise in a comment and there's a little grain of truth in there. Sometimes you have to reflect on it first.

Bob & Jenny ..... you really shouldn't be bothered by those that leave nasty or negative comments..... I've watched many many of your video's in the last few weeks and didn't find anything negative to say about any if them. You make your video's for others to enjoy ... for information... and go share in a pastime you both thoroughly enjoy.... don't let a few idiots you would be negative no matter what you did ruin it for you. If you think about it... those negative people enjoy being negative regardless.... so if you've given them the opportunity to be negative you've given them what they wanted... so you've pleased them.... which is what you make your video's for... for other peoples pleasure.... win win in my book..... you pair keep up the good work and we'll keep watching.... as for those that complain of boredom.... if they sat and watched the whole video before complaining it was boring then they must have been entertained else they would have ended it.

Great video highlighting the reasons that I rarely watch live stream: You get hundreds of Q's fired second by second. Considering the great care and attention you both like to give to each person, it's not surprising that answering every one becomes nigh impossible. The few successful (L S's) set narrow 'subjects/themes' and viewer rules. They also need the person watching posts to be able to cherry pick the questions to answer as well as listening to the answers and feeding the next Q. There is a quantum speed computer able to do that, called 'Deep Blue' I think?? 🛰🛸🚎🚙🐈😀👍👍

@@BobEarnshawMoHo yes it is awkward and lots ive seen are boring. Hosts could ask for questions etc in advance of the live show, so they have as series of ready made answers to fill the gap as the show starts and then field comments etc. A final comment agreeing with your point that people get tongue tied or shy when in the Limelight? Regards to live video, personally I am not a fan, the one's that I have watched you would be trying to keep up with the questions that are coming on your screen. And I end up turning off, not good to watch.
But please keep your videos coming, we have lost count on how many hours we spend watching your videos.

Yes, could do that and I have used it before, but it drains the battery and you can't do that out and about. A front screen is so much easier to use.

Enjoyed this chat about reflections :) Jenny is a lot politer than me, I've always called that sort of feedback a sh** sandwich given that sandwiches are always named after what's between the bits of "bread"! To me comments like "that's boring" are more a reflection on the commenter than the video maker (that's not to detract from how much they hurt the maker who cares about what they are doing!), I mean why on earth watch something if it's boring (to them); that's a bit of life wasted, just turn it off and move on, don't watch the channel again and then to waste even more precious time by commenting. I can only assume that the commenter gets a kick out of wasting their life and saying something nasty, it's all about them and their need to be heard by someone, anyone, therefore it wouldn't matter what the video was about! To me it seems super entitled, if the commenter isn't directly paying for your content then what right do they have to say that it's not what they wanted, they are not your customer, they have chosen to watch a free resource!!! You've no obligation to them to produce a video that suits them and maybe only them! Obviously once a channel has a nice group of people following it and supporting it then as video makers we feel the need to be respectful of subscribers time and thus want ourselves to make things that our audience is interested in but that doesn't give 1 individual the right to have the only opinion... Stephen Fry is very good on explaining internet commenters who have nothing productive to say. He says the internet and social media especially is like Pandora's Jar (box was mistranslated apparently) that we all initially think should be this wonderful, brining together, sharing, etc. but we find out that it isn't possible to have these wonderful things without nastiness also showing up. Such is human nature sadly. As for me, my channel is only tiny and I don't see it as a method of developing almost a 2nd job (which is why I don't do episodes touring individual new c/vans, etc.) in service of the requirements of others but I see it as a mechanism to contribute new ideas or things which others might not know they wanted or things learnt through our individual experience; all contributed as part of a wider community helping each other and for me a sort of payback (in case we find out anything helpful like good places to visit in an area or not to pitch near the huge and noisy wash block fan at the Skye CCC site) to the community which was started by great channels like yours which have been around for longer and we get so much help and entertainment from. Personally I'm very happy to take suggestions for improvement (because who doesn't want their work to be as good as possible, within reason) from folks who are also making contributions like other channels or blogs or folks who have something constructive to say but I think those who are just armchair critics, just criticising without trying to be useful and haven't even bothered to try and add something useful to the community should just shut up and get out of the way of those being brave enough to give it a go. As to tech issues "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new" Albert Einstein. Take care both and Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the comments, it's hard for me sometimes to detect which comments are genuine, especially on videos outside my knowledge and sometimes Trolls play on that. Sometimes it's best to just ignore them, or say I'll pass your comments on. But, you're spot on, nasty comments get people noticed for a short time in their wasted life.
Great to see that things do go wrong, as long as you can have a laugh at it later then it was ok 😂 Criticism is okay as long it is put well, if I don’t like a video then it just turn it off and watch something else. As my mum used to say god bless her “ if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all ”

You both wear your hearts on your sleeves and say what you think could be of interest to your core viewers. If you stray from that don't worry about it. We will still watch the off piste video and learn something new...sometimes.
CRITICISMS If they are rude, don't pay attention to them. If it's something you agree with and can do something with it then do what you can. If you can't don't worry about that either. Just treat the camera as a good friend after all 16000+ are on the otherside of it cheering you on.

I got 5 dislikes on my short video of a horse in a field and stormed off in a huff. That's why I don't post on RUclips.
