- After 30 years of adapting Tove Jansson´s original Moomin illustrations for the Moomin mugs, illustrator Tove Slotte is now retiring. We visited her studio to find out what it has been like to live with the Moomins for so long, what the process behind the Moomin mugs looks like and the challenges of choosing and recreating the original Moomin illustrations.

I am very proud to say and not ashamed that I'm 47 now and still love the Moomins, right down to the fact that I wear my Moonin socks and use my Moomin coffee mug everyday which you've probably made. What a wonderful gift Tove Jansson gave to the world when she created the Moomins and I'm glad children and adults are still enjoying them in 2023! ☺️👍💕

One of my greatest joys every day is drinking hot tea from my favorite mugs. Such small moments really are special and knowing my favorite Moomin characters can join me is very delightful.
I also hope the Moomin company realizes how much fans love the hattifatteners!! They are my favorite character(s) but it’s really hard to find merchandise of them because it seems like not much is made, especially for the US.
The Moomin Japan store has more hattifattener merch but I am unable to buy it because they don’t ship outside of Japan.
i am from nepal.moomin was dubbed in nepali language and used to watch every friday.i cana say it was integral part of my childhood.Thanks
For real, need a reedition of all moomins series and movies on Bluray.

She seems so lovely! I was in Finland last month and bought a hat with Little My, for souvenir, and I have been watching a bit since coming home, and it's so cozy! Such a unique cartoon, i really like it

All of these mugs are simply beautiful! A lot of love & thought goes into the artwork of these mugs. I love the amount of respect that goes to Tove Jansson when making them, too. My family & I have quite a bit of mugs, I should get a Moomin mug someday!

I love those Moomin mugs and in my life, I still don't have one...not even a single one I owned a Moomin mug until now. And that's one of the wishes that I wanted a Moomin mug because not only they are adorable but also comforting, especially whenever I drank hot chocolate, tea or coffee.
