Hi stephen: Thanks - They have their place - The lack of details concerns me somewhat - I suppose that a expanded (longer) Video could happen if the viewers want it - Chris

Ahh flux, An old name jumps to mind "Bakers Fluid" but i suspect it would be brutal if left on a pcb for too long.
Yep i use multicore solder, good enough for ordinary stuff.
Someone said that i would become ill due to handling the solder with bear hands.
But solder goes dull and my skin is tough.
It never hurt me, ok a few teeth fell out and my left ear is green lol :-D
    People panic too much.

HI zx8401ztv: Agreeded - I had someone chastise me for not using a fume extractor when soldering - They said that I was breathing in all of the fumes - I explained to them, that the fumes were the flux, not the solder becuase solder can't vaporize that the temperatures we solder with - People do definnatly need to claim down - Chris

Hi Chris. There’s a lot of confusion between the Amtech V2-TF and the Amtech ASM.
People are speaking really bad about the ASM and they are offering me the ASM at a very low price. Seems that people who bought the ASM were cheated and they want to get rid of it. Would you recommend the ASM for NuTone ?
    Thanks.

Hi luis: I have been using Amtech NC-559-V2-T for about 10 years, I have not used any of their other products - The Amtech ASM you mention states that it is designed for "Automated Soldering Machines" - If people are buying it for a different purpose, and it isn't working, that's on the buyer for choosing the wrong product. I am unsure why you would want any type of this product, if you plan on using it for your 2561 / 2562. Your Master Station can be worked on with regular Rosen Core Solder - Chris

What's the purpose of the vaseline-like "solder paste" that comes in the small round tins?

Hi MTFTVlive: Solder Paste is used with Surface Mounted Components. It takes the place of regular solder - It is applied to the pads on the circuit board - then the component is placed on the board - then hot air is used to melt the solder paste - You might be mixing up Solder Paste with Solder Flux (in a can) - the stuff in the can is what plumbers use to solder copper pipes - Chris
