It's funny how South Africans are prepared to do weird jobs overseas but they won't to do it in South Africa
South Africans cant get "weird" jobs in their own country because of Affirmative Action.
the explanation is quite simple , you see in other countries the entry level labor numbers are much lower than in south africa meaning those jobs they perform pay more than it does in south africa because the supply of labor and those type of jobs is more balanced

There is a massive shortage of skills in New Zealand , The Netherlands and UK only accept people who have direct ties to the Country though lineage or qualify with scarcity of skills required. If you have enough money you can practically buy citizenship in most Countries. In other words if you are a benefit to the economy you are welcome , no handouts or charity cases
We have capital, skills and knowledge (unlike the poor, ignorant bantu), and can go wherever we want. But as long as the servants are cheap and plenty and the land produces fat, we'll enjoy life in SA😇

The South Africans that I know that went to Australia all love your country and have fitted in well and are proud Australians now . Don’t judge everyone the same way. They still remember SA naturally but are grateful for the life they are now making. It’s a big jump leaving your roots and not done lightly but most have every intention of being loyal to their new home.

The South Africans have not been here for long, it can take at least 2 to 3 generations born in New Zealand to be at ease here. The Afrikaans people are some what conservative so do not fit in with liberal NZ. Also many middle class immigrants from South East Asia and Asia also have trouble figuring out social status too compared to where they are from. South Africans of Indian descent are much more likely to settle well maybe because they were not the ruling class or indigenous African.
The cost of racism
To be honest there is nothing here these people are just proud of their heritage and culture, this can be seen anywhere in NZ with different cultural groups ie indins from india are same stick together have their own culture radio station and traditions , the chinese in NZ would be same as for many other ultures. We emigrated to New Zealand from Port Elizabeth start of 1993. Our main reason was to provide a decent future for our children. While not forgetting my Dutch/Afrikaner heritage, we embraced our new life as Kiwis and brought up our children as Kiwi. I found I grew a heart for being a Kiwi (by adoption) and identify myself now as such. It wasnt always easy, and I missed my family so much,and my Afrikaans language and culture, it has never been about a flag for me. My flag now is Kiwi flag

When that shoreline disappeared from my window l knew l knew that never again will l go to such overpriced boring destination again. No wild life, very few reptiles and no fish in the rivers. It is a dead isolated nothing compared to other destinations l have traveled. I would rather revisit spots in my own country or even visit expensive Europe again. But New Zealand?
