    I know that if you change one ingredient, you are making a different cocktail. But I didn't have apple juice, so I made it with pear nectar instead. Probably a bit less acidic, but it was r e a l l y good! Thanks for the recipe!

    Highly recommend adding muddled cucumber and mint, makes a big difference!

      Makes more sense especially if its a gin, st germain and 'cucumber' cocktail

    Just like you, a small bottle of St. Germain has literally been in the cupboard for the past year. But today, I'll finally open it :)

      Nice one! What else will you be making with it? 😁

      @@StevetheBartender_ Well, it isn't exactly summer weather in London today. But there is also another cocktail with St. German. Rum, St. German and lime juice. But I only have one of the mini bottles, so let's see how many I can make!

    It can be nice to use a sprig of rosemary and a raspberry as a garnish. If you bash up the rosemary a bit it exudes a little more subtle flavour. I call it a Country Garden.

    I don't have St Germain. I have elderflower syrup (not liqueur). Can I mix it with some vodka to replace elderflower liqueur?

    • @StevetheBartender_
      @StevetheBartender_  4 года назад +1

      Yep! That would work.. try to mix it so that the resulting liqueur is around 20-30% abv..

      @@StevetheBartender_ Thanks it was alright but mine didn't taste too much like elderflower. I was hesitant on the amount because since it's a syrup I assume it has lots of sugar which the St Germain might not have. And the cocktail doesn't require syrup. I did it also by muddling some cucumber and a little of mint first as suggested by someone else and that was definitely a good idea. You should try it like that :).

      Grégory Bastogne St Germain is relatively low in sugar compared to some liqueurs.. it has 180g/L... most liqueurs are between 100-50g/L..
      Will have to try it!

    Uh... I thought St. Germain's was natural and had to be used by 6 months?
