I stumbled on a key mod fde sr15 back when they were moving to mloc for less than their price for an upper. It’s my favorite AR to shoot. You’ll enjoy that one buddy.
@@Omi-7k actually planning on doing it this week since I want to send it off to get cerakoted. I bought the nefarious arms reaction rod since it’s pretty hard to get a hold of the OEM knightsticks. I test fitted it to see how it fit and it fits like a glove
Excellent review on a awesome firearm. But I have always heard about a lot of slop. Between the upper and lower? Wonder if any truth to it. Stay safe. Peace
I have this 11.5” and I also bought this same upper in 14.5” and the slop on them is about average with all the other uppers I have. (Geissele, Aero, and BCM) I basically tested it on all my lowers until I found the one that had the best fit. A lot of it depends on the lower you mount it on as well. I’ve got a lower that is tight with every upper I’ve tried it on.
I had an SR-15. Wasn’t impressed. Sold it and now have several Colts (my favorite being an FBI with G rail which now has an SD-C trigger and Geissele BCG/Buffer & Siri g , a 10.3 super Duty SBR, a 16” Super Duty, and several Super Duty uppers on BCM lowers with G triggers.
That’s too bad knights didn’t work for, comparing my geissele 11.5 and knights cqb 11.5 upper knights shoots better handles the rc2 better. No leakage in the gas block. Also the bolt is bomb proof, probably wont be breaking any time soon.
@@Redbusser40 I never said they weren’t good rifles. I’m well aware of the benefits of the E2 Bolt and press fit/castle nut gas block. I’m saying that for the money, I didn’t think it did anything any better than my Geissele Super Duty’s. I’ve never broken a bolt and don’t anticipate I ever will. I do know however that if I do, I can easily replace it, unlike the SR-15 bolt.
@@w.w.9047I bought my geissele super duty 11.5 for 1200 3 years ago with a 35% coupon awesome rifle, but wouldn’t pay todays price of 2400. I would rather get an lmt.
Hmm I feel like most states that have suppressor bans also have “assault weapons” bans. Especially with the new pistol brace “rule” most people with shorty ARs are SOL so yeah it might not be worth it for people on those states.
@@TheFlatRange I was just wondering if this is only worth it if you pair it with a suppressor? You can buy an upper receiver anywhere in the country for the most part cause it isn't serialized. People in banned states may have bought 40-50 stripped lowers in preparation so they can continue to assemble.
Yeah the finish is not great. Even after I wiped it down and removed the oil that came from the factory. Idk what it is but it’s just doesn’t look as good as any of my BCM, Geissele, or Daniel Defense rifles. It even has two deep scratches on the rail that I found after making this video. Guess that’s KAC for ya.
@@TheFlatRange where and when did you buy it? Brownells has them in stock and with a coupon and LE/MIL discount it's actually a great price, but if these issues are present then I may cancel my order I placed. Not spending 1800+ on bad QC.
@@triton302 I got my from Brownells. Used one of the discounts they had. From what I’ve read online KAC is not really known for their finish but people do say they are reliable. Can’t speak to it personally as I just got mine.
Probably not lol. If you can catch it below MSRP or on a good sale then year. But it’s still a nice upper, I love the rail and the BUIs it comes with are pretty good.
Hype is not real... Shot one was dissapointed it shot like ass. Overgassed. Just overall not worth the money. I sold it and built what I wanted for less. Shot better and way more smooth.
i don’t like my 11.5 mod 2 much at all, over gassed with a can beyond belief to the point of malfunction. KAC slipped so bad i’m waiting for another KAC shortage to unload the shit on someone else.
I've been thinking about buying this 11.5" but I really wanna but the SR-15 18" when it comes around. They're obviously over prices & over hyped but definitely quality
@@stephen_crumley Oh I'd be interested in one of their rifles if I see one in person or any of their uppers online but I don't really see them at all. Not sure if they even sell uppers separate? I don't mind spending $$$$ if good quality is available

Really nice touch right ?
The handguard and flashhider is lighter than a 10.5" mk16 with the Surefire 3 prong. I weighted them both.
You are going be really happy with yours! I got one, running it with rc2 so well tune! Knights stuff different level!

They are good stuff i just wish they were not so over gassed. I understand why they are, just wish it had a smaller gas port.
I love building my own rifles but there's nothing like unboxing a beautiful work of art ready to go 😍
Are you able to remove their comp on the front and put on a surefire one?
Yep you can. I’m planning to put a either a SF3P or SF4P

I would keep it with a Knight lower receiver/ $1,000. Its a Ferrari/Lamborghini of the AR world. But probably tons of options available.
ah, it has that front cutout on the 1913 of the upper for other version of URX.
