@1:50 I always wondered about DD putting the vg all the way out on the handguard, but found out they do that purposely so it forces the end user to put it where it's most comfortable for them
I’ve been told by my gun guy that when he toured the DD factory the racks where they store the guns are shaped so that the forgrip needs to be at that extreme forward position for the rifles to stack properly.
I just bought a DDM4V7 with the MagPul flip up back up irons, DD hand guard grips, vertical foregrip and the Geissele SSA trigger for $1900 out the door. I’m very pleased with it.
Nice find! I too just picked up the “DDM4V7 SLW Rattlecan Arid” boom stick. I really wish they had longer more complicated names for their firearms, 😂! Love it. Not the biggest fan of the paint job but that’s an easy fix. I firmly believe you get what you pay for and when you find a deal on these, strike hard and fast with your cold hard money. Cheers
It has become en vogue to hate on Daniel Defense because their owner said some things that hurt far right zealot feelings, and truthfully what he said wasn't even that bad at all.. Seems like u understand what many don't.. Now in order to over correct, the new ceo of DD has went full religious, Jesus riding on a dinosaur, carrying an AR mode, very cringe.. They really do make one of the best barrels u can get.. Something happened to Knights, they really fell off.. Ive been told they're similar to Sig, when u call them basically they tell u anything that went wrong is your fault and their shit is perfection 🙄
Got many AR’s. But my DD identical to model and color he is showing in video I many times better than any of my others. The quality is great. Shoots like a dream. Accuracy is excellent. Plan on getting at least one more.
Agreed 100% about the KAC. I never had a full rifle but I've done some builds with parts. In the last few years the prices have gone through the roof. I remember those rear iron sights used to be $40 all day long.
I have several DD M4 V7 rifles and really enjoy them, great showing guns that are reliable as any. That said I replaced the triggers right away with Timney triggers that are far superior to the stock one that comes the box.
Something to consider KAC went through a 20k round torture test with only lube and ZERO jams or malfunctions. I don't know if any other Manufactue can say the same. Many SOF units use both DD and KAC. Both are top tier, I like KAC and DD... If I had to pick one it would be KAC, Both would be even better.
I think DD is overpriced honestly, a BCM would be the same quality if not a better quality for half the price but where KAC shines is their gas system is so fine tuned it’s like a sewing machine with very good recoil management and they’re durable asf. You could beat the shit out of a KAC and it would still run!
I 100% agree with you @Phantom8589 DD is most definitely a go to war rifle! I’m also speaking from experience after doing 16 before being medically discharged do to a broke back. But not my point what I was gonna say is I myself was attached to a SOF Unit (will not give that info on which SOF Teams I’ve been attached to) but a lot of our guys ran DD or KAC but everyone always spoke highly of their Daniel Defense MK18 and I myself got to use bot KAC and Daniel Defense and I’m gonna go DD all day everyday cause it’s actually been truly tested in a in the middle of a War! Now that I’m out I have a 16’ Daniel Defense DDM4v7 Factory Custom where only 300 were made!
@@nomad0395 Agreed. I almost went DD. I have loved their products for years. However, I decided that they charge too much and that BCM actually gives you equal build quality for less money. Plus BCM is a more ethical company that hasn't sold 2A customers out. People tend to go with the default statement, "you get what you pay for." That is not automatically correct. Because, companies tend to see how much people are willing to pay for perceived better quality/performance etc. Just because something is expensive does not mean people are not getting ripped off for some immeasurable diminishing return. Sorry, I got carried away...
DD is not top tier. They’re the AR you buy when you want a fancy, top tier AR but can’t afford one. It’s like the Mercedes C class. Yeah, everyone has one, and you get to say you drive a Mercedes. But it’s not a W204 C63 AMG.
I don't have a Knights rife, but the DDM4 V7 is fantastic and absolutely worth the money for me. It has been reliable, accurate, and it is light. Cannot ask for more out of a rifle. Also, I don't mind the mil-spec trigger that seems to bother many. Truth be told, most rifles are great rifles. It really just depends on what you prefer in both form and function.
I've swapped out the mil-spec trigger w/ a fostech echo and slapped a can on my ddm4 v7 and let me tell you.... you simply MUST try it! Almost no recoil or sound with my wolfman can and the DD is the perfect length to absorb most recoil. And as you no doubt know, the accuracy from a DD is superb! Double-tap bliss!
@shanebarnes8830 You can catch Daniel Defense uppers on sale for around $1000 and get a really good premade lower for around $500 or build your own lower with a Geiselle Trigger and quality parts for around $450.
The trigger in a DD might work well enough for most people but I think the issue is that it should have a better trigger for the price. A complete geissele rifle is the same price and they go on sale every few months for less money than a DD and there's not even really a better option if you wanted to replace the trigger in the geissele rifle.
I’ll tell you what’s the most underrated thing , training ! You can spend all this money on these GREAT rifles , but if you don’t know what your doing that guy with the $800 m&p 15 and $3000 in training is gonna love your loot drop . I’m just sayin
Never had a KAC but i have DD and still grab my BCM ELW most the time. My favorite by far. With geissele trigger and geissele super 42 with H2 buffer. Super light and still very soft shooting.
Thought about getting a MCMR BFH ELW upper for my next rifle but I really don’t like how geissele uses set screws for the gas blocks when we know pinning is better. Because of that, I think I’m gonna go with the geissele super duty upper because it’s basically the exact same everything except SD has a pinned gas block. Both are DI, taper protein barrels, CHF CL, MLOK handguards.
@@9770G I've had both BCM and Geissele uppers. Both are great. For some reason I like the BCM a little bit more even thought the Geissele is more refined. I feel like the BCM is a tiny bit more indestructible, but that could just be my experience. Both are reliable and accurate. The Geissele shot a little bit flatter and ran better and less gassy with a YHM Turbo T2 without any tuning necessary.
PSA Sabre may not even be considered in a comparison of these giants but at least it has a radian raptor and some other cool upgrades. That aside, thanks for the video! After seeing your video, I'd go Daniel Defense for sure. For Knights, those things you mentioned aren't worth the price, imho.
Ive heard about DD, Ive never shot one so I can't really speak on it. But I shot multiple custom and high end rifles. One rifle that I wont call out the company as I still like them. I have their 13.9 that just shoots so soft and can go. But the downside if you are going for sub MOA it wants higher grain bullets and a muzzle break. Then when I suppress it I have clean after each range day with my Dead Air Suppressor. I called the company explained this and they said the same thing all the other high end companies said. Use a Hux works flow through. BUT, with my Knights i don't have that problem. It is almost no gas to the face and zero gas unsupressed. So no timing the gas block. Then I put in another bolt and it still shot fine unlike popular belief. It also ate ALL the different ammo with no major gas. Long story short I am out of the market in buying a new rifle
My man. You didn’t even mention the main advantages to the KAC. Rounded lugs on the bolt prevent shearing. Dual extractor springs. On the new 3.2 bolt it has 2 ejectors and is hard chrome coated. Also, the barrels last significantly longer than any other, while maintaining a tight moa. That one dude did a 20k torture test without cleaning it and still held 1MOA. The durability and redundancy the rifle offers is for, as you said, it being a battle rifle that wins contracts. The military doesn’t give a shit if the soldiers don’t like the furniture. They want a rifle that can get beat to shit and go forever. Another guy did a recent torture test where he runs one over with a tractor, shoots it with a shotgun, etc. only thing that broke that made it not shoot was the buffer tube.
I have the DD4V7 and I love it!! Their 2A stance sucks, but their riffles are amazing!!! I will say that for the price, they should come with a better trigger.
Little tinkering with your spring/buffer and add a riflespeed or POF adj gas block and that DD will shoot just as well if not better than the KAC with no proprietary parts.
I have a Block 2 m4 style DD and its a nice rifle and their barrels are extremely high quality. Also it seems like they're not anywhere near as overgassed as they used to be. Now they're very smooth with full power ammo mine ejects at a perfect 3 o clock and thats with a regular carbine buffer. Knights is NOTORIOUS for finish issues and quite frankly you got lucky its not worse. I've seen guys have KAC stuff that clearly was thrown onto the ground on a hard edge and then put in a box. The reason thats an issue is because they're sending out "seconds", like stuff that gets returned for warranty, or stuff that was outright rejected from contracts. But even then it doesn't make a lot of sense. Everyone says KAC is a bigtime government contractor. But...what contracts do they actually have? They have a railed handguard for the m4a1, the m110(which is more just servicing existing guns than building new ones at this point), and they still make the NT4 for the USMC. Other than that...I don't understand why they can't manage to get guns out the door like other large companies. Damn near everytime they've put a gun up for a contract bid in the last 10 years they've lost to a product thats either just as good(like an LMT) or better at a lower pricepoint. FN makes the M4A1, the M16A4, the M249, M240B, and every variation of the M240 oh and they make the LMGs/GPMGs for literally every NATO country and nobody ever says "man I wish this FN stuff wasn't so over priced but they just have all those contracts they gotta fill so us civis can't get them!"
Daniel Defense has a new owner now and A LOT of the guys that work there are Veterans! Yes the old owners Politics weren’t good that’s for sure but new guy is a VET and a lot of workers again are VETS. I know this do to me and my Brother-In-Law who was in the Air Force as a TAC P got to meet the new owner and a lot of the VETS that work there. It was a fu***ng blast and getting to actually have a machinist show me some of the ropes of building some rifles actually got to make a complete upper and brought it home with me. One I got to build or shown to build I went with a DDM4v7 Factory Custom which they had only made 300 of the DDM4v7 Factory Customs and I liked to look and feel of the Factory Custom and so got to build number 301 which was pretty kick ass!
I just got my DD M4V7 Black 2024. I paid $1450 with 30% discount from my USCCA membership. I absolutely love this rifle. I got an aim point micro T2 red dot. Man it’s accurate from 25 yards to 100 yards, aiming dead center.
I have a DDM4V7Pro and I absolutely love it. The Super dynamic 3 gun trigger takes some getting used to because theres no wall it just rolls through exceptionally smoothly. You can bump fire a 2nd round if your careless on the trigger. (Even so the 2nd round groups tight so ..not bad) i wanted something versatile and as accurate as i could get it. Ive added a prs lite stock, mdt grnd pod, and a 1-8 lpvo. Later i plan to get some 20 rd mags and 60 rd mags to flex roles a bit. Then ill scoop up 11.5"upper and a holographic site.
I sold my Knights and Scar 16 and bought a LWRC, PWS, and a SOLGW and had money left over. I'm not in to the high dollar "Tier 1" rifles anymore. I did buy a DD Mk12 years ago that came from the factory with a loose gas block. The set screws were thread lok'd and weren't even touching the barrel.
Unfortunatetly, even the most expensive firearms are made by people . But they usually have fantastic warranties, so it offsets the risk of a poorly built gun.
The ADM UIC is freaking great, but have you shot a 14.5 KAC SR15? It runs like a sewing machine. There's nothing else like it. Its freakin voodoo magic. I have a Criterion CORE on my 11.5 and 13.9 and I love that barrel though.
I like DD but when I bought my MK12 5-6 years ago I had to change out everything you changed out on your Knights. It did come with a Geiselle trigger though.

Listen brother I have 4 DD’s and they have all been incredible. Never had any issues or problems. So nothing negative to say. The Aero, not overly impressed
BCM $400 lower from Brownells and on Primary Arms 12% off sale 16” upper BFH (CHF) Midlength gas for $700, $189 for BCM BCG and if you want a Radian Raptor its $85 ish and Geissele SSA on sale for $150 = total $1500ish for equal or BETTER parts/performance - PASS on both DD and KAC
subbed. youtube did me right and recommended your channel as they may be overrated i would love to own either one because they will hold value. i bet they are better than the colt stuff i have which was considered the gold standard for a long time. i recently picked up some geissele uppers and i really like them. the blem deals helped a lot. id like to sell off some bca and psa stuff so someone else can enjoy them now and complete a build and help me fund some ir stuff so i can start to enjoy that world. have some custom builds im going to keep. i LOVE compatibility so i move lights, optics, and slings around all the time.
My only complaint of DD is they’re way over gassed. I understand why they do it but with more R&D they could resolve that. I was a KAC critic due to the price until I bought one and put some time on it. I have both and if I had to choose I’m going KAC over anything else. It’s very flat, light and gassed perfectly suppressed or unsuppressed. Not to mention it’s efficient and bomb proof.
@@alexcarbery8189 I don’t think they’ll reduce gas port size for me on their MK18. They actually did reduce it several years back but suppressed it still gases you out unless you’re running a flow through can. They keep it larger to run steel cased more reliably. Totally different experience with a KAC or Geissele 11.5. I’m not hating on them, they make great products but I run suppressed 99% of the time. Also I don’t run steel cased but a lot of people do. The gassing issue of the Geissele 10.3/10.5 is much milder as well.
I build mine. I did spend about $1200 to $1400 on each one, before sighting systems, but I'll trust my life to them. They are like Legos for adults. They are not hard to build. I do like your videos, and those are both very nice rifles. I enjoyed watching.
@@dadbodoperator2466 Start by taking many pictures of the inside of one of your lowers. Then take it all apart for a super thorough cleaning. Carefully put it all back together. BAM you can build one. It's really just like Legos.
@@rmk1999 Oh, I forgot, You haven't "built" a car engine until you've sand cast your own intake. You haven't "Built" a house until you've cut down your own trees and sawed them into 2x4s. My bad.
In my opinion, both rifles are way overpriced. (Even though I own two DD) After watching countless youtube videos comparing both high-end rifles against low-end rifles. To me, it honestly doesn’t matter. Just a long the rifle goes bang when I need it too. Which is why I respect your modified Ruger (even though you upgraded it to a $2k rifle) lol. It just shows that a basic rifle can last and still do the job, just like a high-end one Spending $3k plus just to add on minor modifications is just flat-out outrageous. And should have been done by the manufacturer the first time. Knights, damn sure should have asss kicking customer service if i’m spending that type of money on a rifle. It better not break as well lol But I will say, I do admire the fact you went out of your way to add what you wanted to add to make the rifle better to your liking.
I have a couple DD rifles and I love them. Switched out to the Geisselle SD-E triggers right away tho. Also have a Blackout Defense that is badass too.
Timex or Rolex they both tell time just the same, shoot what you can afford make sure a large part of your budget goes to ammunition & training. DD & KAC are awesome!
Fully agree. I ALMOST bought the SR15 upper for $2,000 last month. This exact reason, that they treat their civilian customers like shit and abuse us, is why I didn't. They are down here in Florida a couple hours from me, so technically a local business I would like to support, but cannot get behind. Okay, they are mean to us, so what, get over it. But their parts are also all proprietary...so what happens if something breaks? You ain't getting a new one. Congrats Knight's, you HAD the coolest shit 20 years ago....today I went with a SOLGW upper for $1200.
Knights sells their blems to the civilian market. That's all you need to know about them. Also, solgw is trendy but they really overcharge for what you get.
@@jackbauer4186 Yes, SOLGW is starting to jack their prices up a bit recently, not a big fan of that. Getting close to Geissele prices for a SOLGW complete upper. And yeah, the worst part is they sell the rejects as ‘new’ and don’t market them as blems. I’d be fine if they were sold as blems and priced accordingly. However, Knights is of the philosophy that ‘civilians are lucky we ALLOW them to buy anything.’
@@jackbauer4186 I’ve no doubt almost every manfr EITHER is..OR WILL jack their prices up, DUE TO THE STATE OF OUR COUNTRY’S ECONOMICS BEING DESTROYED. There is that…
I have own "DD M4A1, 14.5 RIS II" for three years now. No complaints at all. Eats everything (premium, mid, regular, s*it). No babysitting. Only parts I have changed are buttstock and pistol grip (good quality, no beard, still not for me). It is only my SUBJECTIVE opinion.
I got the geissele trigger same color i didnt get a inaert i finally bought a bcm incert because all my quick disconnects were too big for every sling adapter i tried now i know .my dd came with a radiain raptor and i took it off i just think it's too big pokes you in the chest i replaced it with a geissele airborne.
I love my DDM4V9, i know everyone goes for the seven, but pic rails are still the standard for peripherals, keymod is now the betamax of mounting solutions, and 3 oz difference between the mlock and pic rails is ok with me, i dont worry about "value for the money" crap, if youre buyin a higher tier rifle you paying no matter what, PLUS youre going to "make it yours" out of the box anyway, in my case, it was a magpul k2+ grip, FCD trigger guard, different butt stock, radian charging handle, aluminum EPC, bottom line, get what you want, do what you want with it, and choose what appeals to you, all the other stuff is needless second guessing and unnecessary hand wringing
Fun fact LMT doesn't make their LMT SOPMOD stock, KAC makes it. LMT just has the patent. That's why I run the B5 SOPMOD stock, same but at a fraction of the cost.
I don’t know of another AR-15 that has documented firing of 20k rounds without cleaning only adding lube and not 1 malfunction. Also the barrel maintained 1.5 moa after 20 k rounds. KAC is the absolute pinnacle of current AR-15’s making the best rifle currently available.
Agreed 💯, KAC supplies CANSOF, UK SOF and Danish SOF units with KAC Rifles and Suppressors. I don't know of any other Rifle making the 20k test. US SOF still has M110 SASS as well. DD are good But I don't think they can beat KAC.
I put together a DDM4v7 together for $1,100 in 2010 back when DD was still selling complete factory lowers. Hell of a carbine for the money F the haters.
I’ve owned all God tier ar15s and ar10s. Through thousands of rounds and making a pick to keep one of each flavor I kept the KAC SR15 14.5 mod2 e3 chrome bolt carbine w/sandcutter bcg and the HK MR762 LRP iii. Both got g$ triggers. Unfortunately for extra parts the bolt and associated parts are proprietary so that was pricey to have back ups. Both rifles are amazing. Only thing that’s failed was the bolt forward assist pin on the HK. Easy fix. However based on everything I had I’d say a nice BCM is where to spend your hard earned money for ar15s under 2k. Can’t say enough good things about Aero for the price point. SCARs are trash. The sr25 was highly over rated and very heavy. The B&T apc223 & 300 were great but not worth the money. I do still have a rattler and mcx virtus but other than that if SHTF I have a few rifles to chuck in the Land Cruiser and head up north. Happy hunting!
KAC shouldn't be supported because of how they treat civilians. DD is great but I'd say G$ is better for the money, especially considering the sweet sales you can wait for.
I gotta say, I bought a damn PSA complete upper and I can’t be persuaded away from. It has an FN CL CHF barrel (13.7”) with a mid-length ADJUSTABLE gas system with 7075 m-lok rail with qd points. Now, I swapped out the bcg for an np3’d sionics and a radian sd finished in np3’d slide with black aluminum grips…I can say the microbest bcg and radian lt (polymer grips) ain’t all that bad and really could be used forever without swapping. For coming from a manufacturer trying to get away from that “cheap ass” branding of the past…this is all I wanted in a rifle (btw its 13.7” with a pin&welded j-mac “keymo” 4 prong flash hider…making it a legal total of 16”) ….if you want to stamp it you could either remove the pin and weld and direct mount your k-can….or do like me and swap it for the xeno birdcage @ 2.16” to make it a c-hair short and have a qd mount for can. I am going with the xeno….I don’t think I’ll be persecuted over a 1/4” considering it will wear it’s can 99.9% of its life. For the price….$799….you can get the completed lower for $249…..I got a battle ready under $1k. I also grabbed an iwi Zion 15 in 12.5 for a pistol @ $850. These will be my only 2 and I will compare.
What the average guy doesn’t realize is how their rifles perform under stress and unfavorable environmental conditions. Take your budget build to Gunsite for their week long 223 Carbine Course and your rifle will sh*t the bed….seen it first hand. Say all you want but the Danny D rifles don’t malfunction under harsh conditions and lots of rounds.
Own 2 m4v7's and was able to get a smoking deal on a KAC sr-15 with a 14.5 I have not touched the Daniel Defense since both good rifles but the KAC just shoots better. Honestly though if you're not a gun snob though I have diamond back and dpms and some old bushmasters that shoot just fine and are great rifles it's all in what you want to pay they are all good guns if you want to tinker a giessle trigger makes a world of difference on a low end ar
I absolutely love my DDM4V7, she is a BEAST and probably the best "bang for the buck" rifle out there IMO. All my other rifles? PSA baby who all run like scalded dogs. It's really weird how I outshoot most folks with their 3k dollar rifles with my $600 "poor". Its the Indian, not the arrow that matters. If I'm grabbing one rifle to go out the door with it's my DD (do love me some DD's lol wink wink nudge nudge). Truck gun? Field gun? Bang around on the mule gun? My PSA's run and work as well as anyone can ask for. I do smirk a bit when folks tell me "I put this $300 trigger in my AR". Its an AR, not a 600 to 1000 yard platform. But you do you.
Firearms is an expensive hobby. Meanwhile 7 builds later. Plus many more, buy once cry once DDV7 pro last one for me. Great rifle by the way. No more lol🤐
My MK18 mod 1 is DD upper on a KAC lower. The upper was definitely worth the money! I don't have any experience with a complete KAC rifle, but those that have them seem to like them, but their not that accurate for the $$$. So many choices out there now that's it's hard to say what's the best these days. If someone asks my opinion this is what I think are the best choices, from least expensive to the most expensive. PSA Areo Precision BCM (although I've heard that their quality has gone down lately?) CMMG DD Just my .02
Overrated? I have many high end battle rifles; KAC, LMT, HK mr, LaRue, Noveske, BGD, ADM, LWRCI, Radian, SCAR, BCM, DD. They are all good rifles but the KAC is my favorite. KAC=creamy mama jama smooth butter sweetness!
@@thefrogking481 4 SCARS (two 20s in 6.5 and two 16s), 5 KAC (two 16 inch with one black and one FDE, one 11.5 inch, one 14.5, one sr25 in 6.5), 3 HK mr556 (all 16 because I’m an HK fanboy), 3 LWRC (2 piston, 1 DI), 2 BCM recce, 2 RiSE 1121xr in 6.5,1 BGD 11.5 contractor, 1 ADM Capt Quint, 1 Radian, 1 DD mk18, 1 LaRue predatOBR 6.5, 1 Noveske Afghan, 1 SWORD mk15, 1 POF rev piston, 1 Hodge (was the hardest to get), 1 Sig mcx, 1 HK sp5, 1 Barrett m107 (which I do not like to shoot), 2 Benelli m4. Between these two if money was no object I would reach for the sr-15, no question. The only snag for me would be the proprietary parts on it, like the gas block and gas tube and I believe the bolt and carrier, but that is my dream rifle (other than all the military gun clones lmao)
The proprietary parts aren't a big deal unless you blow the upper up. The improvements made stretch the expected life beyond what a normal person is going to reasonably shoot. If you can blow it out through normal use, you've spent ten times the value of the upper in ammo alone.
IMHO, the DD is worth it. But yeah, budget $300 for a trigger. I hear great things about the Triggertech Diamond series and Blackout Defense Zero Reset if you want top-notch. I personally saved a few bucks and went with the Rise Armament Blitz for $140. I stand by my opinion that it is the best bang for the buck trigger out there. Plus, it's direct drop-in.
over the years i have had many different Ar15's....I have owned both the 11.5 CQB and the 14.5. there is no better shooting imo. i bought the uppers only though...just pair it with an LMT ambi lower...GTG

KAC is cool… right BUT , their parts don’t fit in regular mill spec rifles, you can’t go get a sand cutter bolt and put it in your normal bcg, you can’t run a barrel and just put it in your AR, they all have special crap done to it different sizes, blah blah blah, and it drives me crazy because I want a nice armor barrel on a build
Does the DDm4v7 have a slight wobble ? Mine wobbles just a tiny bit and it drives me nuts…then again this is my first AR and I don’t know how bad a cheap AR wobbles…someone please let me know if this is normal I can definitely feel it when I pick it up and grip it at the rail and the grip I can feel how it wobbles
I,d have to look hard at the Noveske before the kac bought the q geissele sd 14..5 really dont see what makes these 2 kac dd that much better for the money. Maybe im missing something 11:50
@@Silentskip001 I get the reason why, but if I have to change the barrel. Why spend the money on one? Geissele makes a great rifle that I don’t have to change anything. But if weight is an issue I guess that’s the gun for you. Having cool gear is cool and everything but if you can’t hike 8 miles with 55 pounds of gear, it’s worthless
Just buy new rifle. DD M4A1 RIII. Very happy. Comes little upgraded : geissele ssa-e trigger, geissele super 42 spring and buffer, radian sd ch and radian ambi safety levers.
2:35 Thank the Lord that magazine was empty, cause why the heck are you treating the firearm as if it's unloaded?! You just racked the charging handle then pulled the trigger!
Why does it cost so much more in Georgia? I used to live about 40 miles from the factory in Black Creek, and I don't remember the prices being more than anywhere else.
Dude, you're worried about furniture and spray paint. That kac will run forever and has one of the most accurate barrels and indestructible bolts in the industry. The gun is made to be beat and hammered. Spray paint it and work the thing. A clean rifle is a loot pickup when the war starts. Because I know you're not training.
How the duck do both of these rifles have a huge gap in between the handguard and upper... Lol Can easily build better versions of either of them with criterion barrels for half the price
Daniel defense is 110% the most overrated rifle here. Pro tip; buy a Barrett. The Barrett DI DMR is AR excellence, especially for the price. A home built rifle built to truly rival the dmr is no cheaper
@1:50 I always wondered about DD putting the vg all the way out on the handguard, but found out they do that purposely so it forces the end user to put it where it's most comfortable for them
Wow, that totally makes sense. I may borrow that info for a video if you don't mind.
Jokes on them. I'm 6 and a half feet tall, and it's perfect there.
I’ve been told by my gun guy that when he toured the DD factory the racks where they store the guns are shaped so that the forgrip needs to be at that extreme forward position for the rifles to stack properly.
Seems unlikely and made up theory. That's no different then just putting the foregrip in the box. Use your brain people
I just bought a DDM4V7 with the MagPul flip up back up irons, DD hand guard grips, vertical foregrip and the Geissele SSA trigger for $1900 out the door.
Cheers
Picked up a used one with an sig optic and less than 100 rounds through it for $1600. Feel like I got ripped off now.
Daniel Defense all the way.... DD Fixed Irons, Aimpoint/Magnifier, M600 Flashlight and Perst 4 Laser, dream build.
You ever build them?
Agreed 100% about the KAC. I never had a full rifle but I've done some builds with parts. In the last few years the prices have gone through the roof. I remember those rear iron sights used to be $40 all day long.
Where the $40 sights new inbox from a retailer or from an eBay seller who stripped them from his military issued rifle.
I have several DD M4 V7 rifles and really enjoy them, great showing guns that are reliable as any. That said I replaced the triggers right away with Timney triggers that are far superior to the stock one that comes the box.
Agreed. That Timmerman it the Ruger makes it so nice to shoot.
They lied , they lubed it … and dident tell you
I 100% agree with you @Phantom8589 DD is most definitely a go to war rifle!
No ambi lower for 2 grand is my only problem with Daniel defense
@shanebarnes8830 You can catch Daniel Defense uppers on sale for around $1000 and get a really good premade lower for around $500 or build your own lower with a Geiselle Trigger and quality parts for around $450.
@@Moderndaycowboy74they sell them now on their website for $550
The trigger in a DD might work well enough for most people but I think the issue is that it should have a better trigger for the price.
Well said.
So true, can have 30 awesome rifles, all worthless if you suck with them or you fail when it counts. Great gun for the next guy if you're dead.

Personally I’d just take a DD as it’s a solid starting platform. Slap in some geissele internals and have an absolute kick ass rifle for less than 3k.
Or just buy a complete geissele super duty for less money and get a better complete rifle.
The Knights is still the flattish shooting g rifle I own. Their duracoat sucks, for sure. They make up for it in shooting experience.
You get what you pay for. Most times...
That's real advantage of KAC
I have the DD4V7 and I love it!! Their 2A stance sucks, but their riffles are amazing!!! I will say that for the price, they should come with a better trigger.
Yup. They ought to be ashamed for the trigger that put in that gun.
I have a couple DD rifles and pistols, I changed all of the triggers, after the first time I fired one of them.
Wherever you bought that KAC spray painted that gun. Doesn’t even look like cerakote.
Look at the muzzle device. It’s got paint on it
They all do
@@politeaf8065 crazy
Because spray paint is better than cerakote.
@@orion8981 when you do it yourself. Not from the factory on a way overpriced rifle lmfao
No that’s KAC paint.
I have the DDM4 V7 PRO 18 and I love it.
Little tinkering with your spring/buffer and add a riflespeed or POF adj gas block and that DD will shoot just as well if not better than the KAC with no proprietary parts.
I may look into that.
@El_Peto True about the scar. I forgot about it when writing the comment above. The scar is extremely over priced.
You failed to mention accuracy and reliability, the two most important considerations.
ADM UIC 13.9” Core hands down is the winner… DD RIS3 is nice though but still prefer the ADM.
Exactly. I love my ADM, definitely a sleeper that can go toe to toe with any of the big boys

Does the safety on the DD get in the way? Seems a bit too long, but I can't tell.
Nah, not really. It can rub a bit if your index finger gets too high, but I don't notice it much.
Yeah, I'll call bullshit.

Spending $3k plus just to add on minor modifications is just flat-out outrageous. And should have been done by the manufacturer the first time. Knights, damn sure should have asss kicking customer service if i’m spending that type of money on a rifle. It better not break as well lol

Okay, they are mean to us, so what, get over it. But their parts are also all proprietary...so what happens if something breaks? You ain't getting a new one.
Congrats Knight's, you HAD the coolest shit 20 years ago....today I went with a SOLGW upper for $1200.

I’m glad I got a DDV7 with a CMC trigger in 2019 for $1300 😂
I like both! I have the same ddm4
I’ll take the DD all day.
I was thinking about getting the psa Sabre with fn barrel and the geissele parts or just buying a geissele super duty
@@TheJoeml85either you ain’t regret tbh get the duty if you can wait though
You’ll see why when you shoot it
What the average guy doesn’t realize is how their rifles perform under stress and unfavorable environmental conditions. Take your budget build to Gunsite for their week long 223 Carbine Course and your rifle will sh*t the bed….seen it first hand. Say all you want but the Danny D rifles don’t malfunction under harsh conditions and lots of rounds.
THANK YOU!!! Training classes are where PSA's go to die.
Who would hate on DD? They're solid as F****...... lol
Agreed, but people love to hate em for some reason.
@@dadbodoperator2466 True, very true.
I love Daniel Defense.. they haven’t put out a bad product yet 🤷🏻♂️
PSA
Areo Precision
BCM (although I've heard that their quality has gone down lately?)
CMMG
DD
Just my .02
Yeah, of course you do.

We all have our vices and hobbies.
First! Also this is an awesome review
Hey, thanks!
DDM4 V7 is a great gun. I've never used a KAC
If you can blow it out through normal use, you've spent ten times the value of the upper in ammo alone.
all i've learned is not to waste money on these weapons. i appreciate the video.
Happy to help my friend!
KAC is cool… right BUT , their parts don’t fit in regular mill spec rifles, you can’t go get a sand cutter bolt and put it in your normal bcg, you can’t run a barrel and just put it in your AR, they all have special crap done to it different sizes, blah blah blah, and it drives me crazy because I want a nice armor barrel on a build
fun fact knights armament rifles look better after theyve been spray painted pink. cody over at m110 sass actual made that very clear
I have ~2000 rounds on both sr15/dd m4a1.
They are both amazing but KAC is much smoother to shoot
Does the DDm4v7 have a slight wobble ? Mine wobbles just a tiny bit and it drives me nuts…then again this is my first AR and I don’t know how bad a cheap AR wobbles…someone please let me know if this is normal I can definitely feel it when I pick it up and grip it at the rail and the grip I can feel how it wobbles
It's normal there's things you can buy to stop the wobble
Mine doesn't wobble, but inconsistencies in tolerances can cause that. It's fairly normal.
I,d have to look hard at the Noveske before the kac bought the q
geissele sd 14..5 really dont see what makes these 2 kac dd that much better for the money. Maybe im missing something

Unpopular topic. The Aero lasted longer in a full auto test, with a round count around 600 to 700, the KAC round count was 500……
The sr 15 has a pencil like barrel designed to be light weight. Not meant for sustained full auto.
I just double checked Goldenwebb's rankings. Didn't realize the KAC ranked so low. Must have been a pencil barrel like the previous guy said.
Idk why people don’t like Daniel Defense. I own one and it’s absolutely fun. No problems. I would like to know why they don’t like it?
Just buy new rifle. DD M4A1 RIII. Very happy. Comes little upgraded : geissele ssa-e trigger, geissele super 42 spring and buffer, radian sd ch and radian ambi safety levers.
Sweet buy!
2:35 Thank the Lord that magazine was empty, cause why the heck are you treating the firearm as if it's unloaded?! You just racked the charging handle then pulled the trigger!
2:35 this is lock back, you made me nervous as fuck for a second
DD costs twice as much in Georgia. So 2200$ is a very acceptable price.
Why does it cost so much more in Georgia? I used to live about 40 miles from the factory in Black Creek, and I don't remember the prices being more than anywhere else.
@@dadbodoperator2466 republic of Georgia. Not the states :D

Save tons. FN15 is a great AR.
Both rifles are amazing! They run! Its difficult to see how any operator could justity the extra spend for Knights. John Wick maybe.
No gun is overrated if you love it. I have the DDM4V7 myself and don't regret spending that money
Well said my friend.
People who hate DD don’t know what they are talking about.
Funny.. I steered away from KAC and just bought a SOCOM-DDM4 V7 about 6 hours ago. :)
Not even a competition sr-15 all the way. DD is a overpriced basic ar platform. KAC has made actual reliability changes to the platform.
I have a dv7 but did modify. I would buy almost any other brand but can't stomach over 3gs for ar15
I would say DDM4V7 is the cheapest AR15 out there quality/price wise. If you disagree you have never owned one.
How the duck do both of these rifles have a huge gap in between the handguard and upper... Lol
Can easily build better versions of either of them with criterion barrels for half the price
I absolutely love my upper KAC easily worth the money I want a lower now and I like you think DD is worth the money
Daniel defense is 110% the most overrated rifle here. Pro tip; buy a Barrett. The Barrett DI DMR is AR excellence, especially for the price. A home built rifle built to truly rival the dmr is no cheaper
