Guys, Gohan isn't a fighter despite the Cell finale clearly made to make him Earth's next protector. So obviously the only way they could write Gohan from that point forward was to be uninteresting as shit because that's clearly what people want to see from a follow up to Dragon Ball Z. That Android 17 joke is actually multilayers. In DBZA after they decide to go to Master Roshis the van wouldnt cut it so 17 says "So lets get a boat". And of course the Super connotations which is a happy accident

Let’s be honest. In the future, however long it might be, I think making season 4 Dbza will become too much of a cash cow for them to refuse. Especially given the hype around it should they announce a potential return. Whether all of them agree to return is a different matter, I believe Kaiser was the one who experienced the hardest burn out given he wrote the series so maybe it would be a tough decision for him. But it’s his baby so there’s always hope!

I know it's unreasonable, but I kinda wish reactors (hell, everyone, really) re-watched the full DBZA series in the week or two prior to 60's release. There are so many little callbacks that are very easy to miss.

It's a credit to Takahata of how amazing a voice actor he is when he can not only sing that well, but he can also sing amazingly *in character* as Perfect Cell. Also, the goodbye scene between Trunks and Vegeta was brilliant. Trunks kills the Imperfect Cell in the future with an energy blast which obliterates him entirely.
I just hope that when they do The Buu Arc, that they do this joke: Gohan: *proceeds to wreck Super Buu’s shit.* Super Buu: “I...I need an adult?” Gohan: “I *am* an adult.”

Piccolo's cells arguably contributed the most to making Cell such a difficult enemy. Even with the Perfect form and the ability to access super saiyan power ups, it would've meant nothing if he couldn't regenerate. Goku's instant transmission Kamehameha would have killed him, and even Vegeta with the Final Flash would have left him hopelessly crippled.
Piccolo's regeneration definitely made him more reckless, and he probably wouldn't have stood still for Vegeta's Final Flash. Even so, Goku's teleport+Kamehameha still would've worked since it caught him completely off guard.
actually, 17's boat joke wasn't just Super joke. when 17, 18 and 16 were planning to head to kame house in Abridged, 17 mentioned getting a boat to get to it because it was on an island. but 16 was essentially like "no, we're flying there".

@@petesthename1588 Tbh I think Android 18 is the most chill wife overall since she rarely seems to get seriously angry at Krillin even if she does have her moments where she looks down on him. But overall, she thinks highly of him. Bulma is the most "understanding" wife at this point with the type of husband she has. She sometimes gets angry at him but, for the most part, she gets his motivations and is supportive. And Chichi is Chichi. Keep in mind that Android 18 and Chichi are also basically housewives with the purpose to only serve as wives/love interests for Goku and Krillin, respectively, so they do not have any major jobs or significance in the plot overall so we don't get to see much of them in action other than their stereotypical attitudes. Android 18 is an awesome badass so when we DO see her in action it's great but she is only really in the story at all cause she married Krillin. If she hadn't, she probably would have ended up forgotten like Launch. Bulma has been in the series since Dragon ball so she already has her own individual relevance aside from Vegeta. She is the only wife who really has her own job going on since she's an inventor who also happens to be a billionare so she has better things to do than to focus on what Vegeta is upto.

If Team Four Star ever manages to do the Buu Saga there is one major moment I would love to see. When Vegeta sacrifices himself he needs to say: "For Bulma, for Trunks, and yes even you....best buddy."
The future imperfect Cell cannot regenerate with that near indestructible nucleus, not because Trunks is now strong enough to destroy him on cellular level, but because he simply doesn't know how. The current one didn't know he could either, until Piccolo showed him that he can.
Air-headed Aviator Not really. Cell knew of Piccolo’s healing factor. Nothing is to suggest he didn’t. And Trunks was stronger than Semiperfect Cell. Heck, even Perfect Cell was weaker than his Grade 3 form, just way faster. Imperfect Cell was far too easy for him. Also, that would suggest that Trunks never actually beat Cell and that his cells are just in the air. If that were the case, he would have been floating around for years until Zeno came around. Cell is incredibly intellectual. I am pretty sure that he would have been able to regenerate with 10 years of prep time if his cells were still there.
Been a while since I've seen the original but the abridged ep 43 and the footage used for it, does show that Cell didn't know Piccolo could regenerate his arm.

You know the whole Dende in love with Gohan is about the fact that Gohan is sort of the "Chosen One", the "symbol of Humanity"... his best friend is Dende (GOD) and his girlfriend is Videl (the Devil)... i personally cannot wait for the drama between them.
On the stream they said that it was actually written to be the series finale on the chance that they decided not to continue. Fortunately they decided they could go on, but for a while this was fully going to be the ending (along with the upcoming Epilogue episode with Trunks returning to his time and the later Kai Abridged Episode 3 to recap season 3). Kaiser also made mention that even with the show continuing, the Cell Saga has been the last five years of his life and moving on from this is a goodbye in and of itself. It was a farewell on multiple levels
@@muffy6519 They said the team was suffering from burnout and that season 4 for the time being won't be happening. I'm guessing if they manage to get over the burnout, which is a chore in and of itself, they'll have a season 4.
I can understand Shane’s point on how the abridged shorten some awesome things like Vegeta going off for several minutes, but in abridging the series we got rid of the characters literally standing around for 20 minutes charging their attacks while they monologue about their lives. I am willing to be down some things like Vegeta’s Attack (which in fairness goes on for a long time and they need to shorten to get to other things) to get a condensed version of the story that keeps all the main beats and some improved dialogue.
You guys probly shouldn't have told Calvin and Aaron bout Trunks going back to his future because TFS has stated that they will be uploading an epilogue episode that will cover exactly that.
Just wanted to say thank you guys for introducing me to DBZ through this series. I remember first watching your reaction to the Android 13 movie and laughing but having zero context. This led me to binge the whole abridged series and I'm now obsessed with both DBZ and Super.

I love these guys, (BlindWave), for what they do normally, but this time, this is on a whole 'nother level of awesome! I needed to comment on their kindness, (now that I know for a fact they've waited about week each time, for each part). This is something most other reactors don't/didn't even bother to do, however, it's been a year, so being patient a couple more days is both a form of simple decency and a gesture of actual, genuine respect toward TFS! Just a frickin week isn't much, but it's still enough to show true appreciation toward TFS and it DOES prevent any "views-leeching" by allowing the actual vids to get some views on release. Almost everyone else just went straight to watching/reacting to this, final-ish three-parter... I'm sad to say BlindWave aren't part of the majority, but I'm also happy to see they've got their standards and principles. Ps: Nice react btw!
I kept seeing the brief flicker of it and had to check it just to be sure. Plus I think given how beautifully epic that song was Cell was singing as he was being vaporized, a lot of people probably didn't even notice it.

It's always bittersweet watching this last episode. Especially because of how they wrote it, the season 4 announcement was a surprise, before that they had said it wasn't happening. So I feel like this "It's not goodbye forever, but it is goodbye for now" speech wasn't just about Goku, it felt like TFS themselfs if that makes sense? And even though 4 isn't happening now, it's still a very satisfying ending I think

Just a little clarification on the timeline thing, the Cell we know and love/hate isn't from "our" Future Trunks' timeline. He's from ANOTHER timeline where this "other" Future Trunks comes back from the past and wins against the androids, but never encountered Cell, so he's nowhere near strong enough to beat his 1st form, which is how Cell gets a time machine. And from there, Cell goes back in time, ending up in "our" time, and we know how that goes.
So this cell is not from princess trunk timeline but from the first future trunks timeline that comeback to the future and kill the android.. So technically there's 2 future trunks right?
Jason Vorhees as according to multiverse theory, which Gohan happened to mention earlier on, there's an infinite number of universes that branch off into even more infinite universes with each decision. Did you decide not to have breakfast today? BAM, another universe where you did exists. Does Hitler suck? BAM, another universe and he cures cancer instead.
+Jason Vorhees Theres 3 cells. one from a random timeline that killed the future trunks after he defeats the androids and goes back in time(which becomes the cell we know that turns perfect), one from the current timeline that krillin kills which is still in its container not fully formed yet, and the one from the future trunks that we know, which that cell is killed by said future trunks after he kills the androids when he goes back to his own timeline. to make it a little less confusing, note that when the future trunks we know goes back in time, he went to another timeline not his own, but when he went back to the future, he returned to his own timeline. EDIT: if i got any of this wrong let me know lol
I like the callback to Krillin's voice getting higher in pitch when he's nervous. So many callbacks in these final three episodes. A proper ending to an amazing series.
For the people who dont get what Android 17 was talking about when he was mentioning the boat, it was his original desire to get a boat in the Universe Survival arc of Dragon Ball Super.
Regarding the voices you mentioned around the 48 minute mark, i've actually had the reverse happen. the voices in DBZA have largely overtaken the original voice actors for me, even though I genuinely love the original, the acting is so good in DBZA that It's actually eclipsed most of the voices in the original.
Eric, that joke for people that watched Super was actually referencing something from DBZA, which happened well before Super. KaiserNeko (director and the voice of Trunks in DBZA) mentioned that he was so happy when the Super moment happened because they had said it first.

I know you are thinking the 17 boat line was a reference to Super. Its not. Back in the tfs android saga (before super) the androids wanted to go to kame house and 17 says they need to steal a boat. But 16 says no, they should fly. It just so happens that in Super 17 wanted a boat as a prize from the Tournament of Power.

DBZA started off great and it's given us some amazing content and has even greater potential to be it's own alternate universe from the canon. That's not to say the the movies are in their own continuity that sometimes bleeds into the Abridged story which makes the possibilities endless. Watching from the very beginning I can't wait for Season 4 and any future content they make.
I love that Cell’s goodbye was as long as it was. Out of all those non-canon films or the like, where Frieza and Broly and Cooler just get numerous cameos, Cell never (unless you count his rare film cameos) shows up or gets mentioned again, least to my knowledge. He was really an awesome villain that was in a good portion of my childhood as I saw Gohan hit his peak. He deserved this great goodbye song.
well i think if the 3 parts where actually one video uploaded...the song wouldnt have got so much hate...but take a 3 minute song of the last 20 minutes of the series...i felt it was too long aswell. And i have to agree that part 2 was way better than the third part. The ending in DBZ was strange aswell which probably didnt make it any easier

It took a few watching's for me to get this but i think cell's swan song isnt just cell talking about himself but also the whole tfs team talking about the making the series, seeing how this was meant to be the end (atleast for a long while)

I'm really interested in seeing how they handle Majin Vegeta's speech at the World Tournament. I've been waiting nearly 10 years for it. It is my favorite moment in all of Dragonball Z because it's so powerful and having seen how they handle serious moments, I'm really interested.

I feel like Goku's speech to everyone about staying dead was also definitely a huge parallel to the series and how TFS feels about the series. They've recently stated that they're burnt out on DBZA and that speech felt more like a call to us, the audience, telling us that "Hey we know we've become a big part of your lives but we need time. It doesn't have to be forever, we'll come back. But we need to breathe." And knowing how they currently feel, that speech was beautiful on multiple levels. Just good fucking finale all around. Great job TFS.

Let’s be honest. In the future, however long it might be, I think making season 4 Dbza will become too much of a cash cow for them to refuse. Especially given the hype around it should they announce a potential return. Whether all of them agree to return is a different matter, I believe Kaiser was the one who experienced the hardest burn out given he wrote the series so maybe it would be a tough decision for him. But it’s his baby so there’s always hope!

I know it's unreasonable, but I kinda wish reactors (hell, everyone, really) re-watched the full DBZA series in the week or two prior to 60's release. There are so many little callbacks that are very easy to miss.

Piccolo's cells arguably contributed the most to making Cell such a difficult enemy. Even with the Perfect form and the ability to access super saiyan power ups, it would've meant nothing if he couldn't regenerate. Goku's instant transmission Kamehameha would have killed him, and even Vegeta with the Final Flash would have left him hopelessly crippled.
Piccolo's regeneration definitely made him more reckless, and he probably wouldn't have stood still for Vegeta's Final Flash. Even so, Goku's teleport+Kamehameha still would've worked since it caught him completely off guard.

@@petesthename1588 Tbh I think Android 18 is the most chill wife overall since she rarely seems to get seriously angry at Krillin even if she does have her moments where she looks down on him. But overall, she thinks highly of him.
Bulma is the most "understanding" wife at this point with the type of husband she has. She sometimes gets angry at him but, for the most part, she gets his motivations and is supportive. And Chichi is Chichi.
Keep in mind that Android 18 and Chichi are also basically housewives with the purpose to only serve as wives/love interests for Goku and Krillin, respectively, so they do not have any major jobs or significance in the plot overall so we don't get to see much of them in action other than their stereotypical attitudes. Android 18 is an awesome badass so when we DO see her in action it's great but she is only really in the story at all cause she married Krillin. If she hadn't, she probably would have ended up forgotten like Launch.
Bulma has been in the series since Dragon ball so she already has her own individual relevance aside from Vegeta. She is the only wife who really has her own job going on since she's an inventor who also happens to be a billionare so she has better things to do than to focus on what Vegeta is upto.

The future imperfect Cell cannot regenerate with that near indestructible nucleus, not because Trunks is now strong enough to destroy him on cellular level, but because he simply doesn't know how.
The current one didn't know he could either, until Piccolo showed him that he can.
Dave Asher also his ability to regenerate is probably effected by how “perfect” he was. At imperfect, its probably only limbs.
Air-headed Aviator Not really. Cell knew of Piccolo’s healing factor. Nothing is to suggest he didn’t. And Trunks was stronger than Semiperfect Cell. Heck, even Perfect Cell was weaker than his Grade 3 form, just way faster. Imperfect Cell was far too easy for him. Also, that would suggest that Trunks never actually beat Cell and that his cells are just in the air. If that were the case, he would have been floating around for years until Zeno came around. Cell is incredibly intellectual. I am pretty sure that he would have been able to regenerate with 10 years of prep time if his cells were still there.
Been a while since I've seen the original but the abridged ep 43 and the footage used for it, does show that Cell didn't know Piccolo could regenerate his arm.
Just Arty Stuff - Roy Smith the healing wasn’t fully from piccolo. Piccolo can’t regenerate from a single cell, that is cells unique regen designed by dr gero.

On the stream they said that it was actually written to be the series finale on the chance that they decided not to continue. Fortunately they decided they could go on, but for a while this was fully going to be the ending (along with the upcoming Epilogue episode with Trunks returning to his time and the later Kai Abridged Episode 3 to recap season 3). Kaiser also made mention that even with the show continuing, the Cell Saga has been the last five years of his life and moving on from this is a goodbye in and of itself. It was a farewell on multiple levels

I can understand Shane’s point on how the abridged shorten some awesome things like Vegeta going off for several minutes, but in abridging the series we got rid of the characters literally standing around for 20 minutes charging their attacks while they monologue about their lives. I am willing to be down some things like Vegeta’s Attack (which in fairness goes on for a long time and they need to shorten to get to other things) to get a condensed version of the story that keeps all the main beats and some improved dialogue.

I love these guys, (BlindWave), for what they do normally, but this time, this is on a whole 'nother level of awesome! I needed to comment on their kindness, (now that I know for a fact they've waited about week each time, for each part). This is something most other reactors don't/didn't even bother to do, however, it's been a year, so being patient a couple more days is both a form of simple decency and a gesture of actual, genuine respect toward TFS! Just a frickin week isn't much, but it's still enough to show true appreciation toward TFS and it DOES prevent any "views-leeching" by allowing the actual vids to get some views on release. Almost everyone else just went straight to watching/reacting to this, final-ish three-parter... I'm sad to say BlindWave aren't part of the majority, but I'm also happy to see they've got their standards and principles.

It's always bittersweet watching this last episode. Especially because of how they wrote it, the season 4 announcement was a surprise, before that they had said it wasn't happening. So I feel like this "It's not goodbye forever, but it is goodbye for now" speech wasn't just about Goku, it felt like TFS themselfs if that makes sense? And even though 4 isn't happening now, it's still a very satisfying ending I think

Just a little clarification on the timeline thing, the Cell we know and love/hate isn't from "our" Future Trunks' timeline.
He's from ANOTHER timeline where this "other" Future Trunks comes back from the past and wins against the androids, but never encountered Cell, so he's nowhere near strong enough to beat his 1st form, which is how Cell gets a time machine.
And from there, Cell goes back in time, ending up in "our" time, and we know how that goes.
So this cell is not from princess trunk timeline but from the first future trunks timeline that comeback to the future and kill the android.. So technically there's 2 future trunks right?

EDIT: if i got any of this wrong let me know lol

For the people who dont get what Android 17 was talking about when he was mentioning the boat, it was his original desire to get a boat in the Universe Survival arc of Dragon Ball Super.
He also wanted a boat to get to Roshi's Island (16 "No! Now we do it my way! The bird way! We fly!")

Regarding the voices you mentioned around the 48 minute mark, i've actually had the reverse happen. the voices in DBZA have largely overtaken the original voice actors for me, even though I genuinely love the original, the acting is so good in DBZA that It's actually eclipsed most of the voices in the original.
Eric, that joke for people that watched Super was actually referencing something from DBZA, which happened well before Super. KaiserNeko (director and the voice of Trunks in DBZA) mentioned that he was so happy when the Super moment happened because they had said it first.
You guys are just a blast to watch react to this. Considering this was basically my childhood relieved it was awesome to see with a friend who only saw the tfs dub. Can't wait for more from both you guys and tfs!

I know you are thinking the 17 boat line was a reference to Super. Its not. Back in the tfs android saga (before super) the androids wanted to go to kame house and 17 says they need to steal a boat. DBZA started off great and it's given us some amazing content and has even greater potential to be it's own alternate universe from the canon. That's not to say the the movies are in their own continuity that sometimes bleeds into the Abridged story which makes the possibilities endless.

I love that Cell’s goodbye was as long as it was. Out of all those non-canon films or the like, where Frieza and Broly and Cooler just get numerous cameos, Cell never (unless you count his rare film cameos) shows up or gets mentioned again, least to my knowledge.
He was really an awesome villain that was in a good portion of my childhood as I saw Gohan hit his peak. He deserved this great goodbye song.
well i think if the 3 parts where actually one video uploaded...the song wouldnt have got so much hate...but take a 3 minute song of the last 20 minutes of the series...i felt it was too long aswell. And i have to agree that part 2 was way better than the third part. The ending in DBZ was strange aswell which probably didnt make it any easier

My favorite joke in the Entire Series is without a doubt when Goku was trying to figure out where Kai's Off Button was and King Kai says "That's My Eye!!!" 🤣 I just laugh at it every time

I'm really interested in seeing how they handle Majin Vegeta's speech at the World Tournament. I've been waiting nearly 10 years for it. It is my favorite moment in all of Dragonball Z because it's so powerful and having seen how they handle serious moments, I'm really interested.

It was fun watching it with ya'll too. I'm like Eric. I just get so hyped over powerups, the screaming, and all the epic sacrifices/deaths. So great. I feel like Goku's speech to everyone about staying dead was also definitely a huge parallel to the series and how TFS feels about the series. They've recently stated that they're burnt out on DBZA and that speech felt more like a call to us, the audience, telling us that "Hey we know we've become a big part of your lives but we need time. It doesn't have to be forever, we'll come back. But we need to breathe." And knowing how they currently feel, that speech was beautiful on multiple levels. Just good fucking finale all around. Great job TFS.
