Of all the hair videos I've watched, that are presented by women, this one, presented by a man, is the most informative and the best one yet. You tell it like it is, period.......
Of COURSE, this video was "helpful"! YES, we ALL enjoyed the video! How could we not? You put so much into it! Plus you are genuine, you DID NOT waste our time, just to get likes, you were honest, straight-forward, ie did not sugar-coat, but yet you were generous and understanding! Also, you DID NOT stall and delay and drag things out, so your video could get a certain level of viewership. You cut straight to the chase and gave us the solid facts and equipped us with ALL we needed to understand and to know, in order to make a sound move. On a personal note, one can tell you are just an AWESOME human being, so we hope you keep finding reasons in your every day and in your "work" to stay motivated and to just keep smiling and generating that positon ve spark that you are. Also your name is coool! Thank you so much! God bless you! God bless your family! God bless your 2022!
Length also matters!!!! Glad you added it at the end! I can now shingle with a one or two coil per strand... hair hangs now - didn’t before. Also love that you added the type fours to the mix! Love your hair period!
You are so right about hair typing. I have 4b/c mostly c hair (I think)but it can do and look the same thing as 4a hair because I’ve kept my same moisturizing and protein routine for yrs. I used to have the same thoughts about my hair and say “ that’s easy for them because they have good hair” but as time goes on I have accepted my hair as what it is and now I see it as unique and healthy. I’m a wash and go girl because I have thin hair but it doesn’t show that in its natural state, therefore I am naturally me and I’m happy.
My hair starts out hanging when I don't finger coil but, shrinks up drastically as 3c type. I don't care what it does, as long as it does. I just keep my curly afro curls popping and stretch with bands some mornings. Thank you for your videos. The heavy products make my hair look heavy and feel weighed down.
All these videos help me so much. I have pin straight hair and my daughter has Afro curly beautiful hair which I don’t know how to manage but your videos have really helped me a lot !
I looooove the fro side. So curly and voluminous😍 the hanging side just looks like stretched out hair not even curly lol I wish I had hair like the fro side
@@imrankibouch the hanging side doesn’t look curly to me at all. It looks like mr noodles lol just my opinion I love tight curly ringlets and lots of volume.
If you have shrinkage you can gently pull your curls section by section and blow dry on medium directly on the hair up and down the strands as your pulling it. The heat helps hold shape and elongate the strands and it’ll dry in that state.
Yeah, he is absolutely right about hair types. You just gotta put in the work. Let it grow and you'll get it. I went from always having a buzz cut because I didn't think our hair could be styled like this. To growing it out just like his. Took a very long time. Almost two years. But it's there now. So be patient and stick to the growth routine.
Thank you so much! Love your energy! You are so positive and reassuring towards us, it is both uplifting and refreshing. The outcome of your demonstration also CLEARLY shows just how good you are, at what you do. Maybe it is becuz you are so passionate about what you do, it is less of "work", or a "job" and more of a dedication! Good on you! You have such a sparkly personality it would be difficult to have a consultation / appointment with you and not leave your salon FEELING - not just looking - like a million bucks. Very much enjoyed this presentation and appreciate the te you took to demonstrate and explain the techniques behind the two different styles. Now, my only question is: being as both styles look soooo catchy and you did such an outstanding job, which freaking style would better suit me and the way my hair grows?! Sigh....
This was an awesome video!!! Im going to try your method on my next wash day 😁. My hair is long enough, but never tried to get it to hang. Didn't know type 4 hair could! P.S - so true about 4C hair. I LOVE IT, I think it so beautiful. I have 4a hair and primarily wear my hair in an afro, but I just love how 4C hair afros. In my opinion it just forms the BEST afro out of all the type 4s; beautiful shape, nice and tight, and, not so frizzy... dont get me wrong, I love my 4a hair too just saying there is something to love in every type of hair ❤.
🤔 Why do a demo like this and not show the two sides together when *dry* ??? Because the inset he showed of dry "hanging" hair looked like the wet afro side of the hair. So how much does the afro side shrink when dry? Seeing these techniques don't help if we don't get to see the end result. But thanks for the tips!
My wash and goes used to look like the left (hanging low) but after I cut my hair I make my hair look like the right and I prefer the right soooooo much more. We’ll see how I’ll want it when it grows. I just love the fluffiness

Your hang side has a lot of visible product in it still. How long does it take to dry and return to your natural hair color? And will the hanging stop because of the dryness??
Tbh use more water than conditioner. That white stuff means that your hair didn’t soak it up and it’s just a waste of product so use lots of water and it will hang.

How do you train your hair into getting your kind of curls while your hair is still short? Do you recommend use of the curl sponges?
Anthony Hawk curl sponges will make a different type of curl pattern for you. It depends on your hair type kind of. I trained my hair to go from 4a to 3b just by making a Bantu knot routine, So now when I wash my hair it’s 3b. I think I was able to achieve this though because my hair has a nice porosity and is very manageable. You could always do finger coils, but if you use a gel there will be a lot of shrinkage which will make your hair appear even shorter. I don’t know how many inches your hair is, but if it’s really short I suggest just waiting it out.
What’s your hair type?
@Anthony Hawk You may not naturally have his type of curl and you definitely don't need curl sponges to achieve a curl pattern. Your HAIR NEEDS WATER MORE OFTEN. Hydration improves moisture & definition...hydrated textured hair defines over time A/K/A trained natural hair. Saturate & hydrate hair with water more often esp. tight kinky coily hair as it holds moisture for a lesser time period than other curl types.. pref. every 3 days-1wk during your shower routine instead of just spritzing it with water in order to penetrate & bind moisture in the hairshaft. Be sure to utilize more water than product. Also you will find your hair will become more curly/coily & manageable overtime as you increase your hair's hydration level (frequency & consistency is key). All you need is quality water soluable shampoo to remove debris & buildup, conditioner to prime & seal in moisture to better retain water & protect against moisture loss, botanical styling gel and/or other gel to capture, weigh down, hold definition and provide a molded (protective) style for the week or longer and maybe a hair finisher/refresher for use throughout the week to restore hair's moisture level until next wash day. That is assuming you want to wear your hair in a wash n go or other natural hairstyle that reveals your natural curl/coil pattern. It gets better. I hope that helps.
