Russell, I have been watching you and City Girl for a very long time. Love all of your videos and the way that the two of you work together on your cabin and other projects. You always have such interesting and entertaining videos but it would be so nice for the both of you if you could pave that trail that you have to travel on to get to your cars with asphalt. Then you both would be the only ones that i know of that have a wonderfully paved and firm road to travel on back and forth to your cabin. Just a thought and hope that you will think about that. It would definitely make your travel route so much easier and you could put sturdy bridges over those water holes that you have to drive through. God bless you and City Girl and stay safe.

Russell...Loved this video. So interesting and informative. Love the decoy and what a history! Pizza time-did you know if you put some cheese on the bread part first, then your sauce & toppings, it will hold together better. And top with extra cheeses. Put them in the oven, not microwave. Willow needs to be checked for her heart bc shes panting (not from excertion in video) My older dog had to take to take heart meds which really helped with that. This is one of my favorite videos...keep up the great work.....
Oh well, Gramaw out..keep on creating 😊

I have solar power installed but in an on-grid system, it's 93 panels of 360 w each, they are 6 gropes that goes to 2 charge controllers. The installed power kWp is 24. In a sunny day in the mid summer i can get about 240 kWh out of the system and most of it I sell so I get some money to buy back the power in the winter.

Hi Russell and City Girl. If you want to try something new for your pasta sauce, add a little balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic and whatever herb you like. Mix it and let the sauce rest for at least 15 minutes to “open up” the flavors. It’s really wonderful and this is how I make my sauce from scratch. Enjoy!

Russel… new concept to pizza making.. try putting the toppings on after the pizza sauce and then put the cheese on top.. the cheese melts into the toppings and it holds your toppings on your pizza and you don’t loose as many toppings. We have always made our pizza this way, I never understood why people put cheese on first and add the toppings, it just makes sense to do the cheese last! Wow willow is 9! Love the wood duck

Yes, I make my own bread dough for pizza. Also a quickie no-knead dough.
But when I’m in a hurry or tired I use 4 large slices sourdough bread. It’s best if bread is on the slightly dry side and no holes in it. I lightly spread pizza sauce, freshly crushed garlic from a garlic press, cracked black pepper, Italian spices (the usual mix in a jar-or just dried basil), some hot pepper flakes, and 2-3 finely chopped green onions (the whole onion). Then slices of pepper jack cheese (real cheese, not fake). Then I chop as many slices of salami and pepperoni to cover the bread. Add chopped/drained fresh tomato, as well as chopped (frozen gold, green, red) sweet peppers. (Can use fresh peppers if don’t mind them being less than cooked.) Top it off with grated cheeses (sharp cheddar, mozzarella, Parmesan). Place the bread in the toaster oven and toast until cheese melted, everything hot, and bread is somewhat crispy. Might also turn on broil the last few minutes to get everything lightly browned. (Note: Sometimes I add sliced olives. Or I might go with a white pizza sauce, chopped ham, chopped green onion, chopped drained pineapple, chopped green bell pepper, dried basil, black pepper, etc.)
It’s basically a toasted open-face pizza sandwich which probably most people already make, but I love it because it has many of my favorite toppings. I use sourdough because we keep that on hand. (I used to make my own sourdough bread.) There are lots of other even more delicious and grain-loaded breads to choose from. It does not work well with soft breads. Gets soggy.

That was some exciting reeling in, Russell. I was thinking about that fresh salmon right along with Alicia. 😋 What a nice lake voyage and sunrise. Loved the buddies and all the different folks you met, and the landing of the drone, haha. It needs a portable landing pad of some sort, eh?
Have you ever set something on top of the car, forgot it of course, then got to your destination with it still in place? I thankfully had this happen once, after a short trip, with my backpack. It's lower profile than some things, I reckon was why. I doubt I would drink something if the seal was broken, or it had been hot, or it was a different color than usual/the others. 😆
Getting bloodwork, or the thought of it, doesn't bother me much. I find that phlebotomists and Blood Drive staff are really good at it because they practice all day long. I wiggle my toes when they say the stick is coming, and that seems to help distract my brain.
When it comes to IVs, tho, I've run across some folks who just aren't all that skilled. They just don't do the volumes. If I can sense this, like a dog smells things, haha, I can usually trigger them to go get "our expert," by saying ..."small veins," "infiltration," "hematoma," etc. The expert always knows what they're doing. 😅

We are so lucky to live near the Great Lakes and enjoy world class fishing. I fish Lake Erie Tributaries for the big rainbow trout we call them Steelhead Trout.
I hate blood draws and my PCP orders them way too much and I always protest, but whattya gonna do.
The issue with the quad sounding like the Transmission slipping while going downhill is normal when one of the wheels starts to slide,
the sound is coming from the axle differential.
I'm a size 13 tennis shoe but for hiking boots they always seem small for the size so I wear size 14 extra wide and only buy Timberland Pro,
they are the most comfortable hikers.

I've got 3 for salmon that are easy, take little time and come from the NYTimes. See my notes ** at the end of each recipe before cooking!
#1-Four-Spice Salmon by Mark Bittman Ingredients - 4 6oz. Skinned salmon fillets, S and P, 1 tablespoon ground coriander, 1/4 teaspoon cloves, 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin, 1/2 nutmeg, 2 tablespoons peanut oil, or other neutral oil
Season fillets w salt and pepper. Press the other spices (previously mixed in a coffee cup) onto both side of each fillet.
Heat a large skillet over medium high heat for 2-3 minutes. Add oil and when it shimmers, place each fillet, coated side down, in the pan. Cook about 2 to 3 minutes, or until the spice mixture forms a nicely browned crust. Do not overcook!
Using a spatula, carefully turn the fish another 2-3 min. Or until the salmon just slightly resists when pierced with a thin-bladed knife.
**This recipe gets 3,226 5 stars and rave reviews in the comment section.
Because salmon is what I call a “sweet” fish, these spices compliment the dish. If you halve the recipe, remember to halve the spices too. Not cooking times! Overcooked fish dries it out and it looses its delicate flavor. I sometimes leave the skin on while cooking that side first and remove it just after turning to cook the other side, rolling the skin off using a fork. If it rolls off easily, it’s ready to continue cooking the other side. I don’t care for the skin, my partner loves it!
Delish served with a baked sweet potato, rice or whatever you like. A salad too? Veg? But remember to start the potatoes an hour before you actually cook the salmon, as it takes so little time! Need I add that mixing you spices while the starch cooks, saves even more time? 🥴
I hope you enjoy this recipe. My next one I’ll write in a separate comment, we only tried a week ago, and WOW!! More challenging next to this one, but so delicious, too. Hint…coconut milk, fresh ging……… 😊

My blood work is a necessary evil. As a matter of fact, I just had bloodwork done yesterday💉💉💉. It doesn't bother me, but I'm surprised as to how fast my blood is determined to fill up every vial in sight! I mean, hey.... I need some of that blood dammit!🩸🩸I thought she was going to put my arm in a cast, but for some reason she thought a Band-Aid would suffice. I thought maybe even one of these --->🤕, but she said my head was not involved in a blood draw .... who knew! I asked if I could be wheeled to my car, but unfortunately she saw me walk across the parking lot perfectly fine on the way into the clinic ..... these know-it-all phlebotomists these days🙄 Nice fish btw 🐟🐟@30:33 .... never saw a small bicycle lock🚲🔒 on a pair of hikers🤔🥾🥾As far as feet that keep growing .... were you born in a Shire, or have a touch of Hobbit history in your genealogical line? I'm asking for a friend🤣When are you going to build a new bridge over the River Kwai .... again ..... asking for a friend🤓? When you said you had a Wood Duck, I thought you meant a Woodduck😆 Anyhoo .... take care Russell & City Girl🐕‍🦺✌🏻Peace Out!

I have had every kind of blood work. Even 36 tubes at one time. If they do blood gases on you that needle goes straight in your arm to your arterity. It took 4 times to get it. I didnt scream but I had tears running down my face. My husband just retired from the lab after 46 years.
