I drive my '17 Z06/07 all winter long in Saskatchewan with Nokian Hakkeppellitas. I have the A8 transmission, and wouldn't dream of trying it with the manual. Also, when you pull out to pass in the summer with the Z06 your only focus should be trying to keep it on the road. I can assure you, the A8 transmission allows you to focus on that task while allowing the car to shift precisely at redline. Do the paddles suck? Compared to my '18 NSX, yes. But, if you leave it in auto, which I suggest you do, you will lap faster, lap safer, drive safer, and get from 0 to 60 in 2.95 seconds....the manual is inferior....which is one of the reasons it's no longer offered.
Lee Douglas I too have a 17 Z06/Z07 but with a manual. It’s so much fun. Easy to use clutch, hill assist and even rev matching. It’s a super easy manual to work with. Those laggy clicky paddles are the worst thing ever. Randy Pobst got better lap times in the manual. Shifting to me is natural. It’s hilarious that you need to focus on controlling the car and you can’t do it with a manual lmao. It requires some throttle control, especially in first gear, but the monster grip and carbon ceramic brakes are of big help.
On the front-engine supercar thing The Mercedes-McLaren SLR, Dodge Viper, and most V12 Ferraris exist. There is definitely such a thing as a front-engine supercar
Non of those are super cars as they are not close to being the fastest in their time. SLR is more of a sportscar/gt car, viper is a viper. Ferrari ff and f12 are more like some side products.

I went from 2012 Cent Z06 to 2017 C7Z M7...I loved that LS7 427 but the M7 C7Z is two steps ahead. C7Z easilier car to daily and MUCH faster on track & street. Bypass the C7 Grand Sport and go to the faster C7Z. You can control the power with your right foot. I go to track days ALOT, just amazing then I take the top off on the way home
My boss had one for a little bit and said it's actually a dangerous car, especially with the high performance tires because they have NO grip until warm.
Corvette guy forgot to say, "It's rare," when the other Corvette guy walked by. That's their mating call. That and, "No low balls. I know what I've got."
I drove a 2015 Z06 with automatic transmission and I felt like I had ZERO control over the power. It is wicked fast and down right scary when the pedal is just half way down. I wish I could have driven one with a manual instead. Regardless it still sounded AMAZING.
Hahaha the shorts and t-shirt though! As much as I love the Z06 (I've got a white '01 found in my profile pic), I would honestly get the Grand Sport in manual. There are so many videos of the GS on tracks and it's performing as well as cars above it's price. With the GS you save some money, learn to go fast and keep up with the big boys.
@@10181995hamza I know, I'm just saying the GS in manual is a better buy if you're planning on taking it to the track and actually learning to go fast. Road&Track and other car mags/sites have done plenty of comparisons and the GS does as well as higher HP cars that cost more.

Lee Douglas but the Manuel is fun lmao
Lee Douglas I too have a 17 Z06/Z07 but with a manual. It’s so much fun. Easy to use clutch, hill assist and even rev matching. It’s a super easy manual to work with. Those laggy clicky paddles are the worst thing ever. Randy Pobst got better lap times in the manual.
Shifting to me is natural. It’s hilarious that you need to focus on controlling the car and you can’t do it with a manual lmao. It requires some throttle control, especially in first gear, but the monster grip and carbon ceramic brakes are of big help.
“Dailyable”
Car guys: Daily driver
Two wheelers: Doesn't make any big difference
your mom's dailyable
@@BryanHernandez-ij9pd I don't have a sister. Atleast my joke made sense.. better luck next time.
On the front-engine supercar thing
The Mercedes-McLaren SLR, Dodge Viper, and most V12 Ferraris exist. There is definitely such a thing as a front-engine supercar
Lexus LFA too.
Non of those are super cars as they are not close to being the fastest in their time. SLR is more of a sportscar/gt car, viper is a viper. Ferrari ff and f12 are more like some side products.
I just bought a 2017 3Lz z06 in a manual absolutely love this car
LOL, you guys need to come down to detroit for the dream cruise next year. You'll see tons of people in lawn chairs next to their cars, it's actually pretty cool.
I appreciate the energy you bring to all your reviews
You guys need to drive a 2019 ZR-1 before the C8. From what others say, it's on a completely different level than the ZO6.
"Samir you're breaking the car!"
I thought he said “Samir you’re wrecking the car”
My brother has a '17 GSport manual and it is an awesome car! Plenty of power for driving on streets.
The blinking traction icon was pretty funny.
My boss had one for a little bit and said it's actually a dangerous car, especially with the high performance tires because they have NO grip until warm.
100% grand sport coupe.. V8 normally aspirated.. No forced induction or cooling issues, Manual trans, rear wheel.. Purist and better.
That would be my choice for the C7. It's also a MUCH better match for the 8 speed auto.
The C7 GS in manual is so dope!!
Great video guys. You raise some interesting questions, but the C8 is a massive step forward for the Corvette brand!
Owned a Z06 for 2 years. Maybe fully floored it 5 times. You truly cannot floor it on the street.
Drove one of these around NC/SC state lines. What a car, what a rip.
"so what do you wanna get into?"
"you know what I wanna get into"
Salis Salman thats hot
"If you go down on the knob you can see more info"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
LingLing1337 oh fuck nice one lingling
Salis Salman that ass
I'm addicted to the whine of the Hellcat supercharger.
Hahaha the shorts and t-shirt though!
As much as I love the Z06 (I've got a white '01 found in my profile pic), I would honestly get the Grand Sport in manual. There are so many videos of the GS on tracks and it's performing as well as cars above it's price. With the GS you save some money, learn to go fast and keep up with the big boys.
el Shiz z06 comes in manual as well
@@10181995hamza I know, I'm just saying the GS in manual is a better buy if you're planning on taking it to the track and actually learning to go fast. Road&Track and other car mags/sites have done plenty of comparisons and the GS does as well as higher HP cars that cost more.
el Shiz yeah and the front fenders have those cool ass stripes
OMG guys, I didn't expect the High short old man look! Made me Laugh out loud and almost get in trouble at Work! Keep up the awesome reviews Bros!
Every time I watch a Z06 video I always say the same thing: Holy shit!!!!!!
That’s awesome!!! You guys are the best! Really enjoy watching your videos, and my son loves seeing all the amazing vehicles you guys review! Keep up the great work!
The Straight Pipes should review the Grand Sport - the Goldilocks C7
This may be a way for those, like me, to own a Corvette. We all can't afford a C8. Some will sell their C7's and buy a C8. It's the free market and it works for me. Love seeing the huge Canadian flag and Tim Hortons Cup.
