Zoe was the one who helped and made the vaccine, risking everything against her family to assist. Mia would've mentally scarred me for life, no way in hell I'm sleeping next to her after everything that happened, matter of fact I just wouldn't have gone out to find her because what would my new girl think? Ethan and Mia don't even wear wedding rings. I'd call her a few times to see what was up and if she doesn't pick up then RIP lol.

Not married, but if I went through all that I would definitely choose my wife who I went to save. Kids nowadays don't take marriage as being sacred and just sleep around. I love how this guy assumes Ethan moved on and has another wife after 3 years because he would. Not everyone has such a flippant view of love. If Ethan truly loved his wife (which it looks like he did) then he would wait for confirmation. He would not be able to move on with his wife having disappeared the way she did. Especially, given how short a time 3 years is.
I didn't say Ethan moved on I said "I would've moved on", jokingly referring to me saying that she would've been my ex wife by the time three years have passed as in I would've accepted she's dead and thought more toward the future. I don't give a damn how much I loved someone in the past - after three years, and with the ring off of my finger, I'm not breaking into an abandoned haunted house, watching a tape of people get killed in the same house I'm in and fighting a possessed monster version of my ex-wife let alone taking a chainsaw to the arm and everything else in the game that comes at you. It's not worth it in my eyes.
I mean hell if I survived what Ethan been through irl I would've been in a mental hospital, paranoid to the ends of the earth. You guys might have nerves of unbreakable steel but I don't. I'd be in a straight jacket in a secured white room while images of Marguerite's wasp nest vagina plagues my mind day and night.
It may be seen as a noble act and "the right thing to do" for you guys but for me it wouldn't be worth it. Not by a long shot. To make matters worse we're not even being saved in the end, we're being taken away by Umbrella so that they can do god knows what to us, Mia is affiliated with the process of Evelin, she had a hand in the whole thing and lied, heavily hinted that she's with the newly reformed Umbrella or some organization that produces bio-weapons. So a secretive ex-wife agent who lies and runs with a shady organization that produces bio-weapons with the capacity to cause unimaginable horror and sorrow.
Regarding what she does for a living she's been lying to Ethan the entire time, illegal work in the worst possible way in the RE universe lol, until it finally bit her on the rear.

So if you choose Mia then you can get out with a survivor. If you choose Zoe you learn the truth BUT you make it out alone AND you can't move on with the loss of Mia. In all honesty Mia ending is waaaay better.

I feel terrible for choosing the Zoe ending. In the end, Ethan lost what he originally came for, and he didn't even save Zoe at the very least cuz she died minutes after choosing her(I mean lets be real here, if Mia never had that assignment to protect Evie and she and Ethan stayed home and never even learned of the Baker family's existence, none of this would have happened, even though that defeats the purpose of the game but u know what i mean) In all honesty, choosing to save Mia is the best ending because, regardless of her being a "lying bitch of a wife", she is still the whole reason Ethan came to the Baker estate in the first place. Plus, Ethan himself in the ending states that now that Mia is back, she wants to start over and put it all behind them, meaning that she wants to make it up to Ethan for what she did. Not to mention, throughout the game, she voices her regret and guilt especially when she was trying to keep him away in that little video in the beginning. Mia is a wonderful wife if you ask me, because she made some godawfully fucked up mistakes but she wanted to repent the whole time.
No hate on Zoe at all, I honestly feel bad that she can't get a happy ending either way, but I speak as one of the people who chose her ending so i can honestly say saving her is absolutely pointless as, not only does she die minutes after you save her, but Mia also dies later on(you know, Mia the one who you came for in the first place) so Zoe's ending leaves Ethan alive, but most likely wishing he was dead.

Maybe IRL that makes more sense but by game logic, Mia is the objective, so why stray from it? Sure Zoe deserved better but there was hardly enough attachment to her to feel more than a bit of pity. Zoe helped because she had something to gain, she was given hope. Anyone could manipulate someone else to their advantage and play nice to get what they want. She wasn't some stranger that swooped in and helped out of the kindness of her heart, she was just given a chance to escape. We hardly got to know anything else about her. Honestly people.
Zoey ending is still shit though and it punishes you by playing the entire bad ending all the way through. -
Appart that Mia is our wife, she proves that she was upset of herself about lying to us and she was hiding things from us. When she attacked us, she was under the influence of Eveline. She also proved that she really likes Ethan because she tried to keep him away to protect him and even if we decide to save Zoe, she comes to sacrifice herself to save Ethan. So we know that Mia has a real heart but we can't say as much for Zoe. Of course she deserve better but her ending sucks and she died just some minutes after you saved her anyway. So the choice between them is simple: save Mia.

I chose Zoe's ending first, partially because Zoe was more appealing to me and also because she was the primary reason Ethan was able to escape the Bakers.
Picking Zoe results in a long and ultimately dreadful ending to the game, but it provides insight into Mia's backstory, including The Bakers, the wrecked ship, Eveline, and the t-Virus.
Mia's ending is more hopeful but doesn't shed much light on the experiences encountered in the game.

Even though Ethan had not already known the unexpected outcome of trying to save Zoe, someone in his shoes could also argue that Mia turning homicidal on Ethan is evidence that if anyone is running out of time, it would be Mia. For all he knew, Zoe could have had much more time before succumbing, considering that Zoe never attacked Ethan at all yet, so someone in his shoes could try to save Mia, while hoping that maybe another serum could somehow be made during the time Zoe still might have.
Everyone keeps forgetting the fact that she was controlled by Eveline and she wanted to protect Ethan.

Everyone keeps saying Zoe went against her own family, but she didn't. Her family didn't want to be that way. They were infected. So all Zoe was doing was curing herself and running. At least with Mia she knew she had to end the job. No matter who you cured, Mia showed resolve and care for Ethan. Zoe couldn't even care to save her own blood over her own. Mia is the definition of the RE characters. She didn't make Evie. She just had the job to move her and then destroy her.

Wow, the ending where you cure Zoe was really poorly made. It was mostly the same as saving Mia, except a couple lines in the dialogue were changed in ways that didn't make any sense. Also, a couple of lines at the very end of the last cutscene seemed to have just been tossed in at the last second. The alternate ending should have never been added in the first place, and it just seems sloppy and lazy overall. Great game though! The other ending just kind of threw me off

When you save Mia, you don't know if Zoe dies, and you leave with Mia and go back home. Cliche and cute.
When you save Zoe, she dies after a good minute, you're conscious in the ship, and Mia dies when you have to fight her. You're now alone and leave quietly. Dark and Depressing..

People who pick Zoe gives a legit reason like the Wife has a connection with Umbrella and she cuts off your hand unlike Zoe who gave Ethan a hand.

If you want to pick the wife then sure thing, nobody is stopping you. But why is there even a need to bring up Zoe and say "who cares if Zoe helps Ethan, Zoe is a stranger"
My best guess is they think one cannot be empathetic towards a stranger. Which is untrue. People can have a lot of empathy for strangers. So it's plausible some players simply had more empathy for Zoe, for the reason you put forth. And some did not. But people like getting annoyed over things of no consequence.

I did save Mia the first time and it did feel conclusive for Ethan, at least.
If the game's going to make the player choose between consequences, at least he must have satisfying conclusions...

Well, with Mia you get your wife back but no answers and you leave with your wife. If you choose Zoe, you learn the truth about Mia and the Connections but at a cost. So basically it's answers or your wife
I feel bad for Zoe, yeah it was unfair for her, but it doesn't change the fact that Mia's route is the correct one, we did all this venture for her and realistically choosing someone not named Mia makes no sense. And for everyone whining over Mia trying to kill us several times, did they really play the game? all of these edgy actions were done against her will. Damn even when you choose Zoe over her, Mia is still trying to save you at the end and begs to Eveline to not hurt us. Maybe if Zoe route were less pessimist it may be a bit viable but seeing the bright side if you choose the Mia's route then there's a little chance for Zoe to be still alive

Kianna, I made that decision literally minutes into getting into the main house. One note says a storm washed up a ship, it could've been carrying ouroboros. Enemies look like that worm shit, the father healed like Wesker did with that worm shit. Had to have been it.

OMG I completed this game, And then my sister wanted to play, At the end, She wanted to choose Zoe. I kept telling her don't do it because she'll die, And then she chose Zoe anyway and cried when Zoe died xd
The point in saving Zoe is this:
Zoe, throughout the game, has helped us throughout the Baker Residence. She provides us with information on how to save Mia, where to go to defeat the Bakers and gives us access to her trailer for safety and to gain access to armaments. Zoe is also more appealing as she has been truthful and open to us throughout this ordeal.
Mia, on the other hand, bars the truth from us. She lies to us from the beginning of the game and cannot provide us with any form of the truth. Furthermore, Mia also cut off Ethan’s hand and has repeatedly chased him and ripped him apart. Sure his hand is stapled back on, but the fact remains that Mia has hidden many things from the player, things that cost people their lives and their minds.
Also, I believe it was ZOE who put it back on. Not only did she guide on the goose chase for Mia, but also helped him after what happened. Zoe is all around much better and deserves MUCH better.

Well she was infected by Eveline. Being infected means you are being controlled by Eveline. Since Eveline is dead, I believe Mia can't be controlled anymore. She might still be infected but she is harmless now. (I think)
The game does a great job of putting you through hours of trauma mostly at the hands of Mia leading up to the point where you have to make this decision

I just beat this game about 5 minutes ago. I chose to save MIA, what an amazing game though! Best game of 2017 hands down
Just completed it on PSVR after a long wait for it to be released on PCVR (but its been 2 years since the exclusivity was supposed to come to an end and still nothing), did thoroughly enjoy it, best RE since RE3.
Just wanted to see what it would've been like saving Zoe (as obviously saved Mia) but when I tried to play the save game again to save Zoe and saw shortly after that the she turned to a statue or something and then Mia somehow was alive again, I was like meh!! thought that it would be a new kinda route but not really. Thanks for the upload btw.. Time to play the DLC s :)
Im curious how much gameplay do you lose by choosing Zoe? This is assuming it goes straight from the boat with Zoe to waking up on the ship Mia. Was playing as her edited out for the obvious reason of length or do you never play as her since she didn't come along?
