Just installed the booster plug . Easy install but spent more time arranging the cables so the cover could go back on nice and snug .
Bought it to solve the intermittent stalling which triumph could only offer an update ( which didn’t solve it ) excellent results after an hour test ride , no more dip in revs , giving that worry of a stall & no loss of ave fuel consumption too. Recommended

Despite the controversy on whether this helps or not, I wanted to try it myelf, cause I understand that all modern engines run on a too lean mixture. Ordered the plug, and followed your instruction. All easy, quick delivery, even to Switzerland and easy to install - the plug that is - once you have removed the exhaust. Really, pay good atttention on how the upper and lower exhaust screws with dampers are mounted. Now the driving. Throttle response definitely is noticebly better, it revs easier - all more fun. Yet the biggest change brought the fuel. Just out of curiosity I refilled it with 98 octane gas. Now that made the difference - I think now it runs as it always was intended to do. Never will go back to 95 octane. What I forgot and ask any follower to do: Please let the engine talk - please do a picture of your spark plugs before and after installation of the plug and let us see it. Really interested to see that.... And, don't tell your dealer, they might refuse warranty claims.

That's fixed it. Install took about 30 mins, replacing the nut assembly from overtightening a heat shield bolt about an hour. Now it has a galvanised bolt adorning the heat shield; now it is a Triumph. Problem of stalling seems gone now or at least greatly reduced. As Mr TEC mentioned, after idling down a hill it used to struggle to get up and going again and I also found maneuvering at low speed a nuisance before due to lack of idle. Much better now, like a normal old school bike. Thanks again to TEC parts :)

Hi there, installed BP, opened filter and DECAT/XPIPE on my TTR all from TEC. Have Shorties opened and the engine just thanked me. Sound brutal, engine response spot on and revs perfect. No hesitation to say pure joy ride. Ecu calibrated itself. Dont need more, done 100 km on known ride to compare and just go for it if U want to refresh your ride.

I've used these on two different bikes an MT 07 and A Triumph Street twin. The MT07 was a good result when it was more or less stock with an aftermarket exhaust. The Street Twin was a waste of money to install it, the water cooled twins unlike some earlier bikes, and bikes of different brands run rich out of the box, (confirmed by independent dyno tests). All you succeed in doing on the Water cooled twins is making them run even more rich in the open loop. Even with an aftermarket exhaust and airbox modification (removing snorkel) there is no need to use a Booster Plug, they will not in any regard make your bike faster, but may make it smoother at low throttle due to an over rich fueling.

    • @georgemilburn6213
      @georgemilburn6213 4 года назад

      Hi
On the early street twins they were quite rich anyway and did not have stalling or throttle snatch issues. we have found on 900cc models after 2017 the stock mapping is a lot leaner and the bikes work better with a boosterplug.
The boosterplug is designed to work best with a stock set up and if other things are changed may not give the best results. We offer a full 90 day refund if not 100% satisfied and boosterplug give a lifetime factory warranty with them.If you have an extensivly modded bike I would normally go for a powercommander with a bespoke tune for the bike. But this is expensive overkill on basically stock bikes.

    great video, very informative.
i love listening to people that know what they’re talking about.
wind if you could explain why my 2022 Scrambler 1200XC won’t start right away.
it turns over for a few seconds.
i let go of the start button to not burn up the starter. then try it again and it starts.
it only had 1000 miles in it. it used to start up fine, but ius still new and i don’t like that it won’t start right up. it does run great.
i have been using high octane fuel.
could this be the reason why ?
another issue i’m have that started IMMEDIATELY after the first service at 600 miles, is that the bike hops while i’m letting the clutch out from a stop. mostly when the engine is cold, BUT i did not notice this before the service.
the dealer says i’m still getting used to the bike.
i say he’s a jerk, and is just dismissing what i’m complaining about. or doesn’t know why it’s happening.
he explained that if it only does it in first gear, it’s ok.
    i say there crap.
do you have any thoughts on either of these problems?

@@georgemilburn6213 will the slip on come with the necessary EU papers for it to be road legal? I absolutely love the look and sound of the slash cut slip on Triumph installed on Guy Martin's bike for the Great Escape jump. Unfortunately the replicas I found for sale are too loud (no bafflers) and hence come without any homologation documentation. Running these over here in Switzerland will cost you GBP 2000+ in fine and admin fees, plus you will have to walk home without the bike and your license gets suspended for a month. Just not worth it. Update: UPS just delivered my TEC Booster Plug! Woke up this morning, got the ScramblerXE down to the Booster Plug plug in...so I was ready to go! Plugged it in, put the silencers back on and heat shields then fired the bike up and ran it at idle (from cold) till the fan came on. Took it for a varied ride on the freeway, surface and neighborhood streets, easy smooth acceleration and a handful of “get on it” accelerations...WHAT. A. DIFFERENCE. Right now I’m 98% excited and relieved at the noticeable difference...BUT, tomorrow morning will be the real test. Lately my beloved ScramblerXE has been giving me trouble at cold start and maintaining revs. Also, the stop sign at the end of the street...she dies. Fires right up but dies...then 5 minutes down the road, at the light before the on ramp...same thing. After work, same thing. Anyhow, I’m hopeful the difference I felt will fix the dying issue! My Triumph dealer has no idea what is happening. They’re awesome and super willing to listen and run diagnostics...but they never find anything. I hope I have some good news for them tomorrow night after I get home. What’s strange, I haven’t had any issues in the 13,500+ miles (1 year and a month) I have had it, other than the stalling issue back in October and now in March. My wife suspects summer to winter and winter to summer blends...which might be an issue or just a coincidence. Well, got some riding to do! More to come!
