Thank you doctor 🙏🏼. I’ve always had high cholesterol and ldl. Never listened to my pcp who specialized in cardiology. But, he never pushed me to take drugs. But when he pushed the Covid poison I fired him. Mostly carnivore here.
I am glad for you..The triglycerides levels are important too. Could you get the special HDL. Test to find out the size of the HDL. Larger size Over the smaller size is a better prognostic factor.
This is the problem when financial performance is valued over clinical outcome. Medicine is ( currently ) a money operation with a health side-hustle. This will be fixed by billionaires, or further optimized.
@@JohnWest4 Billionaires tend to be greedy, and will not fix anything unless it benefits them! If that includes making more people sick, then so be it!
Last year after my physical + bloodwork my doctor called up + said she wanted to talk about the cholesterol... She was complaining about the high LDL. I asked her about the trigs. She said my trigs were fine (35). I told her I was a LMHR. Of course she never heard of that! I am living on grass fed meat! Of course my LDL is going to be high! But I feel great! 😊 how many 52 year olds do you know that can walk 14 miles? My waist is 24 inches, my legs are all muscle and my blood pressure was 100/60. Do intermittant fasting too. I am going to the Dr on Tuesday so we will see what she will say this year.
Need a new doctors who doesn’t waste brain power on that. If energy goes into lowering cholesterol what else could they be focusing on that actually prevents disease?
doesn't mean you cant' be healthy and walk 14 miles if you add some green leafy and veggies or a bit of fruit. Vitamin C is needed - scurvy is real. it takes four months to develop. also calcium can be low, use egg shells if you are just eating meat.
Yes but in the 1950s we all ate Fridays and bacon for breakfast and three course dinners including meat. Nobody was concerned about their cholesterol and we weren't having many heart attacks. In 2023 we prescribed more statins than ever before and we had the highest fatal heart attacks and strokes.
It hasn't changed much yet. Most doctors are still telling me not to eat meat, to eat a few times a day, and to lower my cholesterol. I'm at an almost ideal weight, gym 4 times a day, my arteries are perfectly clean, yet they want to prescribe that stupid statin.
We have been handing out statins like Candies for 40 years and yet heart disease remains the number one killer. At what point does the medical community wake up and ask a new question?
@@stevenlengyel9701 If you can imagine, I'm fit as ever, skinny, and 45 years old. I went on the carnivore diet and knew my LDL would probably go up and it did. They wanted to put me on statins because of the high LDL.
I stopped sweets in January and noticed weight loss after a week. After 3, my mother could see that I had lost weight. I've lost about 2 dress sizes this year. Like you, I have a whole lot fewer aches and pains. The chronic plantar fasciitis I had had in my feet for months suddenly went away after about a month of stopping the sweets. I do 16:8 intermittent fasting every day, but after the holidays, I want to go back to doing OMAD 3 days a week again. It's been a while since I did that, but I need to lower my A1C some more (I went from 6.0 to 5.7, but I'm still right on the line of being pre-diabetic), and it's easier for me to go without all food than eat meals without carbs.
Instarted Keto when I had Chronic Uticaria and my joints were hurting. Doctors couldn't find th cause. I started looking at alternatives and fixed it with a proper diet.
I did the same thing after a first time in over 20 years visit to a primary care physician. Blood pressure was 180/110 and the doctor seemed conflicted about not sending me to the emergency room. He put me on lisinopril. I cut way back on carbs and sugar and increased meat and egg consumption. The pain in my knee, which I had for a few months, is gone and going up stairs is getting easier. I has injured my foot shortly after going to the doctor and after a month the pain had not decreased. After dropping over 30 pounds in a couple months, the pain in my foot is gone. It's hard breaking the delicious carb and sugar habit, but you can work towards it if you just try.
@jeremycrisp4488 I live on the second floor. When my knees were killing me. I knew I had to carry my stuff upstairs. That's what I knew I had to do something. Hang in there!😀
My not the sharpest tool in the toolbox brother in law took statins for 20 years and then got a by-pass that was 95% blocked. The doctors said he was lucky he was on statins otherwise it would have been 100% blockage, unreal.
numbers needed to treat - look it up -not everyone benefits from medication. the number needed to treat are quite high, but lower over time, but they are still not 100 percent 'you will reduce your risk'. Just like medication for Graves or anything like that.
Always appreciate the release of new studies that disprove what we are usually told by most doctors. My dad is always told his ldl is the only concern, yet being a diagnostic mechanic his whole life, he always suspects there are more particles involved in cardiovascular health. By the way, the doctors hate his questions about the information I give him from your videos. Very helpful for health.
Probably bc they’ve not (had time to?) stay up with the current journals/research… my GP tries. But she’s so overworked that it’s not unusual that she emails me (through the healthcare system’s portal) as late as 11pm! She’s thorough as she can keep up to be… but this probably just reaches cardiologists.
I started questioning everything, especially advice from government health organizations after reading 'Health and Beauty Mastery' by Julian Bannett, this book exposes so many shocking truths about the health industry.
Apparently that website is a scam where they sell the book. I’ve looked on Reddit and someone got their credit card stolen using the website. So I guess EVERY SINGLE PERSON I have seen promoting this book is a part of the scheme. Crazy. Amazon doesn’t even sell it probably for that reason. Get OUT
Just read three books. The Great Cholesterol Con, The Clot Thickens and The Grain Brain. I did. I changed my blood tests to C-RP when I had a 46.3% of a heart attack. My C-RP was 3 (practically no whole body inflammation). Was pressured to use statins, told my GP where he could put them.

My buddy is 70 and he’s had a heart attack and is on statins. He has neuropathy. I told him how I advise my 83 year old mom to eat meat and veg (dark). Three years later, her neuropathy was gone. He said, I can’t eat meat because of my cholesterol. And then complained about his sore legs. I told him his COQ10 is low. He said, “Yeah, he put me on those too”. I wanted to scream.
My CAC at my age was 7, I’m 57 years young and a former smoker who was also around secondhand smoke as well my whole life. Also had a carotid artery scan which showed no blockages 🙏🏼. One year come December I’ve stopped carbs n sugar 🙌🏼. I feel amazing!! 💪🏼
I’m 70 and My CAC was zero 2 years ago , my LDL is 151 at last blood workout, hdl and tri is good. my dr was not happy and said it should be under 70. I brought up the CAC score and she said it’s just a fad, that why the insurance doesn t pay for it and cardiologists don’t order it. I was floored when she said that. I eat grass fed grass finished beef that I buy firm a rancher and she said to only eat meat once or twice a month. She wants me on a statin and I told her no way! I feel like finding another dr.
@ yeah I fired my pcp/cardiologist. I found an amazing new doc and reads and watches what I send her too. My ldl has been high my entire life. My dad was a butcher haha. We always ate meat. Mom is Italian and always gave us pasta 🤷🏼♀️.
23:11 "Exercise increases the size and number of your protective HDL and increases the total number of HDL particles that you have and it can lower your blood triglycerides." 23:28 "... reduce the odds that you will develop calcified arteries and increase the presence of atherosclerosis."
Mike, Dr. Stephen Sinatra write a book called the Great Cholesterol Myth. He says in the book that the triglyceride HDL ratio is a better indicator of heart attack risk than the cholesterol numbers that the majority of doctors mistakenly use.
My young doctor is using the TC/HDL ratio. Mine is high because my LDL is high. I told her that I go by the trig/HDL ratio, and mine is good. I've also got a zero calcium score and am metabolically healthy, yet the cardio and GP both want me to take a statin. No thanks.
@@johnletourneau6176 My HDL has gone from 1.1 (42.5) before low carb at the end of 2021 and last test 1.8 (70) middle of 2023. Trigs were 3 (265.5) now down to 1(97). I haven't got around to having another test.
You don't need berberine to help stop food cravings. If you do high fat, very low carb long-term, after a couple weeks for most people food cravings disappear permanently, as long as you stay away from eating any significant amount of carbs.
not permanently.....add extra carbs, and the cravings are BACK! Permanently means, you solved the problem even with a more normal diet...Agree about berberine, which is not so great and comes with many unhealthy side effects like very sore muscles.
Most providers are still using basic lipid panels and also not doing insulin resistance panels. Its still a very hard sell. Its amazing how “educated” they are via pharma sales reps for dispensing drugs but how useless they are at probing patient risk
I luckily came across your videos a few months back when I refused to go on statins, which my doctor was not thrilled about. I began taking a daily berberine and an aged garlic supplement instead and in 3 months I brought my triglyceride/HDL ratio down from 5.15 to 3.08! I still need to lower my saturated fat intake some more and get a bit more active but to move the needle 2 whole points in only 3 months really makes me glad that I'm advocating for my own health instead of just listening to my doctor's advice. Thank you so much for the knowledge!
Please don't lower intake of healthy fats. Avoid vegetable oils and eat the fat that comes with your meat and add a knob of butter for good measure. The more fat and less glucose in diet your ratio will improve to the lower. Your hormones will thank you too.
Cripes man. I will be 81 in a few days. When I need a snack, I eat half a stick of butter ! Take is from an old carnivore, saturated is benign and good. 60% pf the human brain is fat.
Sorry but this still is not enough testing. You have to know your apoe gene. 1/3 of people have apoe4 and in this case with a lot of saturated fat you are just killing yourself.
Cholesterol is still demonised in the media. Studies like this hopefully will start to normalise the understanding of the role of cholesterol in our bodies. Thx Mike. Love that you break down these studies for us.
YES! My ratio is .36. At 60 years old, I eat nothing but whole foods, low carb, and higher healthful fats. I feel great! I am thankful for this person. He brings to light what I have thought was correct
Here's a ChatGPT summary: - A new study published in the International Journal of Cardiology found that LDL cholesterol does not strongly correlate with coronary artery atherosclerosis. - The study involved 5,000 patients who were normal glycemic, prediabetic, or diabetic, and used CT scans to assess coronary artery calcium scores. - HDL cholesterol, particularly larger buoyant HDL particles, was found to be more protective against metabolic disease and coronary artery plaquing. - The study highlighted the importance of measuring lipoprotein particles rather than just cholesterol content, as the composition of LDL, HDL, and VLDL particles changes with insulin resistance. - Triglyceride enrichment in lipoprotein particles was correlated with coronary artery atherosclerosis and a higher propensity to develop diabetes. - The study identified 32 biomarkers associated with prediabetes and diabetes, with HDL diameter being a significant predictor of metabolic health and coronary artery calcium presence. - There was no consistent association between non-HDL lipoproteins (such as VLDL, LDL, IDL) and coronary artery calcium scoring. - The study suggests that LDL cholesterol levels may be lower in individuals with diabetes compared to those without, despite diabetes being a major risk factor for heart disease. - Advanced lipoprotein particle testing can provide better risk assessment for prediabetic patients by revealing atherogenic changes in lipids. - The study emphasizes the importance of focusing on metabolic health, visceral adipose tissue, waist-hip ratios, blood pressure, and increasing HDL to optimize cardiovascular health. - Main message: The study challenges the focus on LDL cholesterol as a primary risk factor for coronary artery disease, highlighting the importance of HDL particle size and triglyceride levels in assessing cardiovascular risk and metabolic health.
In Dr. Ovadia's book, he says to focus less on LDL, and look at the Triglyceride/HDL ratio. I believe under 1.0 was the ultimate goal, though 2.0 was not horrible, as I recall. I'm glad studies like this are coming out to hopefully enlighten some doctors that are so insistent on LDL-lowering statins.

56 y.o. male here, and my cholesterol total is 247, HDL is 109, triglycerides 45, LDL 128, and my ratio is 2.3. borderline alarming by themselves, but as a whole, pretty healthy actually. FWIW i'm 6'-1", 175 lbs w/a BMI of 23, and regularly walk 10,000+ steps a day as i have dogs i'm always walking. maybe all the walking explains my low triglycerides and raised HDL. I eat probably healthier than 90% of Americans...which isn't saying much unfortunately.
The ratio is triglycerides to HDL, not the other way around. In your case, it's 45:109, which is 0.41, and that is excellent! Whatever you're doing, carry on with it as it's a winner.
So, the root problem is uncontrolled blood glucose level. Upto 80% of blood glucose after a meal is taken by functional/healthy skeletal muscles. The problem is the lack of functional skeletal muscles or skeletal muscles with large intramuscular fat. Functional skeletal muscles can be obtained ONLY by physically active lifestyle.

This is excellent news, I am 74 have always had a good glycemic score, BMI of 21.5, low visceral fat, however have a slightly elevated LDL level. Just going out on a limb here, my endocrinologist, my GP, and my cardiologist all conned me about cholesterol. Two years ago my cardiologist, the last time I saw him, admitted to me that treating me (or any other patient) with a statin was not medically effective in combating cardiovascular disease. Where do I get my health back?
What am I supposed to do with this information when the doctors are on autopilot?! If i mention this amazing video i saw on RUclips, they'll fold their arms and give me an evil stare!
Stare back. There are some great RUclips videos by medical schools or there that show how arterial blockages actually take place. Crap doesn't magically start adhering to your arterial walls. Read about inflammation and CRP2 tests. If you can afford it get a calcium scan. Most of all as hired by others cut the refined sugars and processed carbs. And remember that all the talk about saturated fats is misdirection.
There are holistic Drs, but there aren’t many. I wouldn’t ever tell a Dr about a RUclips video-what I would do is find a study (or more if possible) and print it and take it. When they tell you what you need to do, you nod and smile, then do what you know you need to do. If they act like refusing a prescription will be like a crime, let them write one for you. You don’t need to fill it. The pharmacy (so far) doesn’t report that it wasn’t filled. When you go back and are greatly improved, you let them know what you actually did. They won’t believe that is what resulted in the improvement, but whatever.

I noticed in the chart displayed at the 13:16 mark the non-diabetic LDL cholesterol level topped out at 4.1 mmol which is 158 mg/dl which is not that high. Most doctors consider a high LDL cholesterol at 190 mg/dl. I'm low carb with intermittent fasting since 2021. My LDL is 318, HDL 90, Trig 79. I'm 64 and quit statins two years ago.
This is a good report. My Natural Doctor has been preaching this to me for a while. My Cardiologist doesn’t talk about this at all. I do have small particle size. Will step up the exercise. Is there anything else that can be done to increase particle size?
If one eliminates starches and sugars from the diet by default you have lowered the antagonist for inflammation. With the reduction in inflammation how important is HDL?
An important point is that atherosclerosis is a symptom, not the actual problem. Your body adds cholesterol to you vessel walls on purpose, to protect them from some kind of perceived injury.
@@noracoyle4988 And that means focusing on making your body UNABLE to build up plaque by cutting off its supply of one of its most important nutrients is insane, as if you stopped consuming protein because that's what cancer tumors are made of. What they should be doing is focusing on WHY there is artery irritation causing the buildup. But fixing that would not lead to an unending drug profit.

It's a tricky game.trying to manipulate one's own cholesterol levels. My setepmother only eats canned Busch Light all day long, and her HDL is over 120.
I cycle 500 miles a month, no vices whatsoever, eat clean and yet on a LCHF my HDL is 63, TGL 49 and my LDL is 419. I tried flipping to ULTRA low fat (near zero) high carb for 6 months and it tanked my HDL to 30, put the TGL to 143 and "only" dropped LDL to 260....(it was great energy on the bike, but joints started creaking so back to LCHF)....My missus does no structured exercise, eats sh*te and sugar, drinks wine almost daily and is obese yet tested her and her LDL was 210, her HDL was 77 and so was her TGL 77.... she seems to have better chances than me, WTAF!!
HDL should be higher. The rest is OK maybe A1C a bit lower. ❤ Remember hdl is the 'happy' kind. That's usually exercise and some healthy fats. No seed oils, processed foods or high sugar n carbs. Hope that helps. The doctor should go over everything n explain. Insurance doesn't though😮
LDL brings cholesterol to tissue wanting it, HDL brings unused cholesterol back to the liver. I'd expect smaller HDL to just be emptier, meaning the cholesterol is used to repair or create cells (e.g. white blood cells), suggesting a diseased or injured state, thus I don't think this link is causal in the sense that more big HDL is better but rather that it is an indication of better health. Either way, cholesterol is there to help fix issues, not cause them. edit: ie. both LDL and HDL are downstream of the actual cause, they are the effect
Here, in the Netherlands, no one knows about NMR diversification in lipoprotein particles testing. It's always LDL, HDL, TG, TC and that's it. A physician or dietary adviser will tell you that "bad cholesterol" must be lowered and oh boy, then come the statines! CACs are exotic and a cardiologist generally won't approve it. Its really pestering if you know more than the "expert". Perhaps it need to check outside my country? 😢😭😭😭😡
Mine is 1.02 What Does This Mean? • A ratio below 2.0 is considered excellent and suggests low cardiovascular risk. • Your ratio of 1.02 is fantastic and indicates very good heart health and insulin sensitivity in this aspect.
0:44 " they found is that LDL cholesterol was not correlated with the degree of coronary artery calcium uh plaing now this is really important because again most doctors like to monomaniacally focus on lowering your LDL."

I knew a lad with a similar story, albeit a few years older than you. Just keep up with all the research, as everyone cherry-picks to suit their views.
At 37 it would be shocking if you HAD suffered a heart attack, so that doesn't say much. But I'm not saying you are doing anything wrong...just that at 37 you can eat total crap and still be fine... maybe by your mid-50s you'd be headed toward trouble, but I think on a carnivore diet you are NOT eating crap, so I think you'll be fine.
@TopJoo7 I'd honestly like to contact you and know your health 10 years down the line. Are you up for sharing a way to contact you (e-mail maybe where you can share your contact, and I'll share mine too)?
My last test on keto a week ago was HDL 63, TGL 49 and LDL 419....even 6 months almost zero fat high carb only got LDL to 260 but destroyed the HDL(30) and TGL(143).....I'm at a loss what to do as I'm no LMHR (BMI 28)and doubt LDL should be this high. No vices and bike 500 miles a month....

I've avoided my docs but maybe need to go and get a "Well Man" appt and see what they come back with....and when they freak and try and force statins I'll need to be ready with a request for a FH test, ApoA/B, particle subfraction etc and a CAC or ideally CT Angiogram and/or CIMT test.... maybe get fasting insulin while I'm at it. I have no plans to ever take a statin regardless of where this goes from here!
I like the idea that large buoyant LDL particles are protective. SpectraCell measures this in their advanced lipoprotein panel test. But then there are guys like Dr. Thomas Dayspring who go "gaga" about ApoB and LDL particles yet "poo-poo" the benefit of having beneficial HDL particles.
Dont get your hopes up. I have a Florida endo who flies to Alaska every 4 weeks to see patients here, who HAS NO CLUE, still thinks statins are amazing, cheap and told me to my face that BigPharma cannot possibly make money on something so cheap. Doesnt even know anything about testing for insulin resistance, refuses to discuss anything that veers from the party line. Told him about phdNickNorwitz destroying the statin narrative with the "oreo cookie" study, said "never heard of him" so far as having an endo it does not mean they are more aware or evolved in current stats
Long story short it is the triglycerides number that matters in the context of prediction of CAD. LDL number means almost nothing if we don’t understand the content of the LDL particles (cholesterol vs triglycerides).
You guys have no idea how many people ended up on a gurney to be transferred to a hospital room to undergo an angiography or a byPass as a result of ignoring high levels of LDL-C. LDL-C, ApoB and Lp(a) are not the only risk factors, but still, they are important risk factors. High HDL Levels can't save you. Don't ignore LDL-C. Keep all risk factors (LDL-C, ApoB, Trigs, Inflammation levels, HbA1c, Obesity, lack of exercise, deficiency of essential nutrients, the list goes on) under control. High LDL-C is detrimental to your arteries. If you don't want to use a statin, there are other ways to keep your LDL-C low unless you have familial hypercholesterolemia. High LDL-C is bad for you, high HbA1c & insulin resistance are bad for you, high CRP (inflammation) is bad for you, obesity is bad for you, lack of exercise is bad for you. I repeat: You don't need a statin if you can manage your LDL-C with lifestyle interventions. If you have discipline you can do it. Just keep it low, it doesn't matter how you do it. The reason pro-Keto videos are getting so many clicks is that people just want to eat their favorite foods (tons of fat aka bacons, eggs, meat, dairy) Yes, sugar is bad (carbohydrates from legumes & vegetables are 100% ok and healthy), it's not rocket science. Stay away from dietary cholesterol (its effects will differ individually, one person can eat eggs 24/7 and their cholesterol levels stay more or less the same, the other eats just a few eggs a week and their LDL-C skyrockets) & saturated fats. You need cholesterol, but blood cholesterol has nothing to do with it. Every cell has its capability to produce its own cholesterol regardless of blood cholesterol levels, including those of your brain.
I'm not following low carb because of the food. I would prefer to be eating what I did before I was diagnosed with diabetes. After going low carb in Oct 2021 I have become metabolically healthy and lost 25% of my starting weight without trying. The thing that has made this possible is that I don't have to starve myself.
@@jobrown8146 Just be very careful with your LDL-C and don't listen to people who are not even cardiologists. The overwhelming majority of cardiologists and lipidologists agree that LDL-C is detrimental to arteries. Keep it low. Wish you the very best. +1
@@bedrosgesaratsi1099 Thank you for your concern. I am not just listening to "anybody" on the internet but have listened to a wide range of professionals in various areas of the medical profession (including cardiologists) on this issue so I feel like I am making an informed decision. I am well aware of hyperlipidemia since my husband had it and his brother and my daughter both have it (hyperlipidemia familial type 2a). I've made the decision to stick with what I'm doing regardless of my LDL. I am feeling so much better than I have in a very long time and would prefer quality over quantity IF it happens that _my_ LDL is a problem for _me_ I have become very sceptical about what we are being told by the medical profession. We have been misled for over 50 years with the dietary advice which is making people metabolically unwell. This is easily seen by looking at people's large stomachs, especially men who look 8 to 9 months pregnant. We have been misled about needing an antidepressant for life like a diabetic needs insulin based on the _theory_ (which was debunked over 20 years ago) that there is a chemical imbalance in the brain. And we have been misled since 2020 with the most recent medical issue. Oh yes, and the eat less move more. I lost 25% of my weight just be changing to a low carb diet. The only "exercise" I do is stretching, strengthening and light hand weight.
So are processed foods good for you after all? When I had high LDL all I did was cut out processed food and kept eating healthy foods and my LDL dropped significantly.
@ but that isn’t a mechanism. What is the process that goes from high triglycerides to arterial plaque? We all understand the LDL to plaque (endothelial damage and repair) but why does a triglycerides rich particle cause plaque as opposed to a low triglycerides particle?
@@stevemc2626 but does it cause or is it an indicator? Think of it as the body's attempt to push glucose into trigs indicating higher background insulin and more glycation as a base. My understanding is HDL is also involved in reducing VLDL transition time by off-loading trigs. The lower the HDL the longer the VLDL transition time and increased incidence of VLDL losing its payload of triglycerides, increasing trigs in the blood.
I'd say it's a combination of opportunity. Three primary factors. Inflammation, high fat presence (overloaded organs; zero fasting) and disrupted glycocalyx. I doubt there's one singular mechanism. Same as dementia.
This video has been very helpful. My HDL/TRI ratio is .69. Sounds like that is good. I had never heatd of any of that before. Was just told my HDL had become elevated and was looking at statins. Thanks
Why do you need a doctor? Are you sick? Broken? I’m not anymore so why see a doctor to get demoralized by a hyper focused fat guy who gets incentives to put all people on drugs. I quit paying for that silliness.
I think vegans and vegetarians might be prone to having prediabetes and diabetes because they tend to consume more carbs. They may not have particularly high LDL, but their trigs could be elevated (due to excess carb intake). And they may tend to have low HDL. And hence fewer buoyant large HDL particles. They may be surprised to discover their CAC score is high despite having their doctor pat them on the back for years and years because of how low their LDL has been. These people may have hyperinsulinemia (although their doctor has only been tracking their blood sugar and never checked their fasting insulin level). As a corollary to that, they have mysteriously high blood pressure and can't figure out why.
Check out deuterium. Many links and studies show it is killing us at a molecular level. Low carb/grass fed meat and fat is the only answer to this poison. Feeding rats depleted deuterium was shown to increase the markers of good health in only 4 weeks.
It probably depends on the on the person. When I was vegan, my triglycerides were low, my hemoglobin A1C was low, my HDL was about 80, and my LDL was still high. I didn’t eat processed food and I exercised so I think that helped.
Me: Thank you for providing your HDL level! Now we can calculate your Triglycerides-to-HDL ratio: \text{Ratio} = \frac{\text{Triglycerides}}{\text{HDL}} = \frac{61}{60} = 1.02 What Does This Mean? • A ratio below 2.0 is considered excellent and suggests low cardiovascular risk. • Your ratio of 1.02 is fantastic and indicates very good heart health and insulin sensitivity in this aspect.

Its crazy that this is just now becoming popular. My Family GP when I was a teenager encouraged me to eat more red meat and potatoes and told me to keep the sugar low because even he knew that triglycerides were the issue... not cholesterol. You can take a blood sample from 2 people with equal amounts of very high LDL and the only difference is that 1 has triglycerides of 200 and the other has a level of 30. Set the samples out on the counter for a few hours and watch how the high fat blood starts to separate and clump... Its all the visual needed

This is incredible. It's the opposite of what we've been told for decades.

I stopped sweets in January and noticed weight loss after a week. After 3, my mother could see that I had lost weight. I've lost about 2 dress sizes this year.
Like you, I have a whole lot fewer aches and pains. The chronic plantar fasciitis I had had in my feet for months suddenly went away after about a month of stopping the sweets.
I do 16:8 intermittent fasting every day, but after the holidays, I want to go back to doing OMAD 3 days a week again.
Good point!
I luckily came across your videos a few months back when I refused to go on statins, which my doctor was not thrilled about. Here's a ChatGPT summary:
- A new study published in the International Journal of Cardiology found that LDL cholesterol does not strongly correlate with coronary artery atherosclerosis.

@@kenycharles8600 ... All I said was that my step mom drinks a lot of beer, basically.
LDL you mean? No way it’s her HDL. That’s likely 45-50.
Just had blood work for life insurance. Hdl 50. Ldl 121. Trig. 74. A1c 5.4. No idea if good or not?
HDL should be higher. The rest is OK maybe A1C a bit lower. ❤
Remember hdl is the 'happy' kind.
My doctor actually argued with me trying to get me to take statins. I laughed and refused
Ditto!
I urged my roommate to look into berberine, he did about 6 weeks ago and he is very happy after having tried a few other things!
😢😭😭😭😡
Can you maintain a slower speech rate to help listeners intake the data? Thank you.
I knew it!!!
Mine is 1.02
What Does This Mean?
• A ratio below 2.0 is considered excellent and suggests low cardiovascular risk.
• Your ratio of 1.02 is fantastic and indicates very good heart health and insulin sensitivity in this aspect.
0:44 " they found is that LDL cholesterol was not correlated with the degree of coronary artery calcium uh plaing now this is really important because again most doctors like to monomaniacally focus on lowering your LDL."
😊
🙏 thank you
My LDL levels are elevated too and I follow the carnivore diet. I am a 35 yr old male and am physically fit. I am on absolutely zero medications, and have had zero heart attacks or anything remotely close to it. Give me the LDLs!
Wait til you are 75.
@TopJoo7 I'd honestly like to contact you and know your health 10 years down the line. Are you up for sharing a way to contact you (e-mail maybe where you can share your contact, and I'll share mine too)?
You should look up what Dr Peter Attia says about LDL and atherosclerosis, specifically regarding familial hypercholesterolemia.
What test do you ask for to look at particle size?
NMR
@ I’m in Australia. We don’t have this option/name that I know of. Is it APO b, lipoprotein a and the A/B ratio or something more?
Another great video!
HDL 69. Tri. 102 LDL 492
Wow! How long have you been low carb?
My last test on keto a week ago was HDL 63, TGL 49 and LDL 419....even 6 months almost zero fat high carb only got LDL to 260 but destroyed the HDL(30) and TGL(143).....I'm at a loss what to do as I'm no LMHR (BMI 28)and doubt LDL should be this high. No vices and bike 500 miles a month....
@@Bazza1968ldl can be very transient from one test to the next. If you’re high fat you will have more ldl “transporters” is how i understand it.
@@Helen-readysteadyhome I have a "MISSION 3 in 1" (Swisspointofcare) tester, it's supposedly pro grade as testing here in the rural Scottish Highlands is difficult. Results have been consistent with it.
Since April 2024. Sorry just new at replying.
I really don't count my protein. Not sure how much I get a day. But feel good and eat a lot of eggs.
THANKYOU! Great Information.
How can I get a copy of this study? I want to give a copy to my doc.
I used to be a rep for SpectraCell! That's how I learned about lipids some 15+ years ago.
@@Highintensityhealth Cool. I ordered my first lipoprotein profile from SpectraCell in Jan/2014 and have done about 5 or 6 more follow-ups since then.
i am 62, have high ldl \, smoke crack and feel awesome!
Which blood tests should my lab run to get all this data? (My gp is behind the times on this. I probably should find an endocrinologist?)
I am feeling so much better than I have in a very long time and would prefer quality over quantity IF it happens that _my_ LDL is a problem for _me_
I have become very sceptical about what we are being told by the medical profession.
@@bedrosgesaratsi1099 what is the range of "low"?
@@salgaldenco No range in terms of how low you can go with LDL-C. The lower the better.
So are processed foods good for you after all? When I had high LDL all I did was cut out processed food and kept eating healthy foods and my LDL dropped significantly.
The fact that this is one of the few comments he loved is hilarious
Do we know WHY high triglycerides cause the heart disease. I’m not at all doubting it but what is the mechanism?
the water based solution we call blood shouldn't have much fat travelling around in it.
@@scottw2317 yeah ok that’s not bad. I can understand that.
Thanks
Unfortunately, the video is laughably but tragically misleading.
I have low Triglycerides, high HDL and high LDL. My doctor keeps on pushing statins on me. No thanks.
Why do you need a doctor? Are you sick? Broken? I’m not anymore so why see a doctor to get demoralized by a hyper focused fat guy who gets incentives to put all people on drugs. I quit paying for that silliness.
Agree
Any insight as to change in Insulin in the study?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can increase the risk of heart disease.
It probably depends on the on the person. When I was vegan, my triglycerides were low, my hemoglobin A1C was low, my HDL was about 80, and my LDL was still high. I didn’t eat processed food and I exercised so I think that helped.
The fact you think vegans and vegetarians are the same is very worrying. You another carnivore nutjob?
@@brett6468 I think by now all vegetarians and vegans know to supplement B12. Many omnivores are B12 deficient too.

How did you get to know you were LMHR? Is there a test for that?
@OscarRendon This is a phenotypic LMHR, lean body mass, low triglycerides and extremely high ldl.
This study will probably be buried as it didn't give the required outcomes.
