I’ll admit that I’m quite uncultured when it comes to a lot of prestigious films. I often find myself watching animated films or obscure arthouse films whilst forgetting about the films which people have actually heard of 😅 However, I really want to rectify this so I hope to watch all of the Best Picture Winners at some point as I think that will be a nice gateway and it will finally give me an excuse to check out films like The Godfather. Also, I have a friend who wants to watch them at some point so watching it with another person may help to make some of the duller movies more fun Out of the few films I have seen, Parasite is EASILY my favourite by far and I wouldn’t be surprised if it isn’t topped. Although, Amadeus looks right up my alley Also, can I just say, I really appreciate how you ranked this based off of personal preference. I always prefer when people do that as it feels more genuine and the outcome is always more uniue
1. The Godfather/Part II 2. Oppenheimer 3. The Return of the King 4. The Departed 5. No Country for Old Men 6. Moonlight 7. Rocky 8. Everything Everywhere All at Once 9. Kramer vs Kramer 10. Forrest Gump

Oppenheimer Would definitely go in S tier for me as well! Loved that you put it in S tier by the way which i had a feeling you were going to lol 😅 Love that you also put Forrest Gump in S tier as it is one of my All-time Favorite Movies! Thank you for that!
I will say i felt the same way about eeaao after first watch. 3.5.-4 at best and just felt ugh couldn't tell. Watched it during its bp winner rerelease and it was a completely new experience. Watch it again!
Top 10: 1. Godfather 2 2. Parasite 3. Godfather 1 4. Return of the King 5. Oppenheimer 6. Sound of Music 7. Casablanca 8. American Beauty 9. One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest 10. No Country for Old Men
Here’s my ranking of the ones I’ve seen: Titanic Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Parasite Gladiator A beautiful mind Schindler’s list Rebecca Oppenheimer Gone with the wind West side story Slumdog millionaire The departed Silence of the lambs CODA Green book Moonlight Spotlight Everything, everywhere, all at once The shape of water Argo The hurt locker Forrest Gump Birdman Nomadland
If you love musicals PLEASE watch Chicago!! One of my favorite movies/broadway show ever. The songs are amazing and ‘Cell Block Tango’ is easily my favorite movie-musical moment of all time.
You haven't seen CODA? Loved that one. My favorite Best Picture winners are probably the most popular ones. Titanic, Braveheart, Gladiator, Forrest Gump and Rain Man. Usually my favorite movie of the year doesn't win Best Picture, though.
That no country for old men story is hilarious!😂 I didn’t even realize that movie was based on a book! (Also glad I’m not the only one that doesn’t get Lawrence of Arabia 😅)
I recommend watching the Deer Hunter It won best picture in 1979 It is one of my personal favourite movies it stars Robert De Nero, Christopher Walken its probably the best Vietnam war movie it has one of the best scores please please give it a watch . at times its hard to watch with all the emotional scenes but you'll enjoy it ( it won 5 Oscars btw )
I was devastated when Braveheart beat Babe for Best Picture. Even as a kid, I could tell Braveheart was Oscar-bait, and found Babe to be much more imaginative and engaging. To this day, I still believe that Babe should have won. As for my favorite Best Picture winner, considering The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King's win was honoring the entire trilogy, I'll say that, even though I like the first two in the series better. Otherwise, 12 Years a Slave, Schindler's List, and Silence of the Lambs are in consideration.
I just wanted to jump in and agree. I think La La Land should have won. They specifically made that film to be timeless, the music is necessary, the ending is impactful, and it has two massive stars carrying the entire thing with their chemistry and acting. It's just that good.
My top 10 favorite best picture winners 1. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2. The Godfather 3. Titanic 4. Oppenheimer 5. EEAAO 6. Parasite 7. The Departed 8. Forrest Gump 9. Schindler's List 10. The Godfather: Part II
Return of the King is my favorite Oscar winning movie of all time closely followed by Amadeus. I would have Silence of the Lambs in S tier. I'd put Westside & Sound of Music in F tier. I just really really hate those types of musicals but I'm a dark soul lololol
My rating for every best picture winner ive seen: Casablanca - 5/10 Ben hur - 7/10 Lawrence of arabia - 7/10 Sound of music - 4/10 Godfather - 9/10 One flew over the cuckoos nest - 8/10 Platoon - 8/10 Schindlers list - 8/10 Forrest gump - 7/10 Braveheart - 7/10 Gladiator - 7/10 Beautiful mind - 8/10 Return of the king - 8/10 Million dollar baby - 7/10 Departed - 7/10 No country for old men - 9/10 Hurt locker - 7/10 Argo - 8/10 12 years a slave - 7/10 Spotlight - 8/10 Oppenheimer - 9/10
How I Would Rank the Ones I've Seen: 1. Parasite 2. The Godfather 3. Forrest Gump 4. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 5. Everything Everywhere All At Once 6. Oppenheimer 7. Rocky 8. West Side Story 9. Gladiator
Interesting, all of the A movies, except parasite and platoon, are my personal S tier movies, and all of the S tier, except Forest Gump and Sound of Music, are my personal A tier movies. I know people love the Return of the King, but I'd put it on B, if not C. It's hard for me to like the movies, after I was inside the world of the books for so much time, and the third one in particular, was really dragging, and in my opinion, completely missed the greatness of the story.
I think you having million dollar baby in the D tier is perhaps showing your lack of appreciation or understanding of combat sports. No judgment or beef, I don’t appreciate musical films the way you do. I think the point you missed in million dollar baby is yes it’s draining and sad but it’s a unique boxing movie in its own right and stands next to the all time greats. An old school machismo male goes against his judgment training a woman and making her a talented fighter. He was over ran by guilt over not trusting his original judgment even if we know he wouldn’t have lost sleep if the same thing happened to a male. If anything I’d guess the movie would rank higher today than it did when it aired because of how respectful they were to woman’s combat and didn’t belittle it and treated it on course with the men’s bouts. Something traditionally boxing hasn’t done well in real life.
I've watched 64 out of 96 best picture winner. Least favorite (aka I don't really like) would be 64. Tom Jones 63. Gigi 62. The Deer Hunter 61. American Beauty 60. The Departed

Oppenheimer Would definitely go in S tier for me as well! Loved that you put it in S tier by the way which i had a feeling you were going to lol 😅
Love that you also put Forrest Gump in S tier as it is one of my All-time Favorite Movies! Thank you for that!
Million dollar baby in D-tier is crazy
My top three would be
1. The godfather
2. The silence of the lambs
3. Oppenheimer
Let’s be real, we all knew where Oppenheimer was going!😄

Saw slumdog in school its pretty good
I will say i felt the same way about eeaao after first watch. 3.5.-4 at best and just felt ugh couldn't tell. Watched it during its bp winner rerelease and it was a completely new experience. Watch it again!

The departed
Silence of the lambs
CODA

Nomadland
Absolutely baffles me why people liked Oppenheimer that much. Truly an enigma.
That no country for old men story is hilarious!😂
I didn’t even realize that movie was based on a book!
(Also glad I’m not the only one that doesn’t get Lawrence of Arabia 😅)
My favorites are Titanic, Gladiator, Rocky, Braveheart and Schindlers List
All great picks!
I recommend watching the Deer Hunter
It won best picture in 1979
It is one of my personal favourite movies
it stars Robert De Nero, Christopher Walken
its probably the best Vietnam war movie
it has one of the best scores
please please give it a watch . at times its hard to watch with all the emotional scenes but you'll enjoy it ( it won 5 Oscars btw )
I liked your video. But what happened on Lawrence of Arabia, dude?
I just wanted to jump in and agree. I think La La Land should have won. They specifically made that film to be timeless, the music is necessary, the ending is impactful, and it has two massive stars carrying the entire thing with their chemistry and acting. It's just that good.
It's the movie that will be most remembered from the nominees that year. A true modern classic
My top 10 favorite best picture winners
1. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
2. The Godfather
3. Titanic
4. Oppenheimer
5. EEAAO
6. Parasite
7. The Departed
8. Forrest Gump
9. Schindler's List
10. The Godfather: Part II
FOR FRODO!
Return of the King is my favorite Oscar winning movie of all time closely followed by Amadeus. I would have Silence of the Lambs in S tier. I'd put Westside & Sound of Music in F tier. I just really really hate those types of musicals but I'm a dark soul lololol
My rating for every best picture winner ive seen:
Casablanca - 5/10
Ben hur - 7/10
Lawrence of arabia - 7/10

Highly disagree with some of your 7/10s having Braveheart, gladiator, and the departed only at 7s is crazy
@@DanCampbellGlazer um have u heard of having an opinion
I respect your opinion but some of these are wild to me
Chris I thought you would talk about the Batman part 2 being delayed again
Dawg I’ve watched plenty of 9/10 movies just once not going back to a movie in 2 years doesn’t make it worse
How I Would Rank the Ones I've Seen:
1. Parasite
2. The Godfather
3. Forrest Gump
4. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
5. Everything Everywhere All At Once
6. Oppenheimer
7. Rocky
8. West Side Story
9. Gladiator
I rewatched the Godfather parts 1 and 2 this weekend. Both are 5/5s for me!
@@FilmStocked I'll definitely need to watch the second then
Too many people are sleeping on The Apartment and it makes me sad
Anyone listed them all?
Interesting, all of the A movies, except parasite and platoon, are my personal S tier movies, and all of the S tier, except Forest Gump and Sound of Music, are my personal A tier movies. I know people love the Return of the King, but I'd put it on B, if not C. It's hard for me to like the movies, after I was inside the world of the books for so much time, and the third one in particular, was really dragging, and in my opinion, completely missed the greatness of the story.
Oppenheimer is a feel good film for americans and a horror film for anyone else
When ranking them you should have ranked them off of best picture not best movie
@agn555 wdym “?” He should have ranked them off of best picture not best movie
@@Dominic7449it’s the same thing tho 🤔?
@@WallyB. no it isn’t idiot
@@Dominic7449what’s the difference?
What do you think “best picture” means?
Dude I’ve only seen 2 of these 😂😂
Lawrence of Arabia is one of the best movies ever made but aight
The real question is do you watch the extended LotR movies Chris?
HE PUT MUSICALS OVER ROCKY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Hating on a movie just because it's a musical is kinda tough
@@filmtoppings I'm not hating on it rocky is just better
Lawrence of Arabia is solid but too long
I hate The Departed. It is so loud and clunky and obvious and macho in the worst ways possible.
Hacksaw Ridge is better than Moonlight and La La Land
Arrival as well
I just watched Hacksaw Ridge. Better than Moonlight and La La Land, but not Arrival.
And come on man you don’t remember the western with grandpa and that ranks higher than million dollar baby? Just say you don’t like combat lol 😂
First
I've watched 64 out of 96 best picture winner. Least favorite (aka I don't really like) would be 64. Tom Jones 63. Gigi 62. The Deer Hunter 61. American Beauty 60. The Departed
my top five best pictures:
5: The Return of The King
4: Rocky
3: Rain Man
2: Forest Gump
1: Titanic
Classics for a reason!
One Movie to RULE THEM ALL
