- On this episode I join my friends from the Salem Jeepers club for a day of wheeling at Cline Buttes. We left more competent in our off-road skills and with a better understanding of the capabilities of our rigs. Over the past few years I’ve gravitated towards the “wheeling” side of off-roading and I’m much more confident in my rig and willing to tackle some of the rougher roads I’ve encountered in the back-country while overlanding. Roads I otherwise would have chosen not to take in the past.
What a fun time! And cool rigs!
In all my overlanding I have never found anything that rough. Now Going rock crawling with my friend we did. Totally different experience and rig build up for that for sure. George.
Yep, definitely a different build for sure. I’ve gravitated towards the wheeling side over the past few years and really enjoy looking for and taking some of the rougher roads we come across.
This looks like a ton of fun. I'll have to try this area sometime.
It’s a great OHV park and I regularly go there for skill building. Definitely worth going if you are in the area!
Which trails are these? I've always wanted to hit some of these but haven't found anyone who knows the area really well.
I don’t recall the names off the top of my head but it’s well marked on the maps and plenty of green, blue and black diamond options. Definitely worth checking out
Did I hear you say you’re headed for the Umatilla National Forest?
Yep, we went and are back already. Working on the video now:).
Awesome, that’s in my back yard. I live on the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. So it will be interesting to see where all you explored!
@@davidfilkins42 right on Istaapakspam! We were mostly west of Ukiah. Absolutely stunning area.
Gotta check out Skyline Road out behind Jubilee Lake! You can take those roads all the way back into Dayton, Washington across some amazing knife ridges and some HUGE country!
@@davidfilkins42 That sounds amazing! Thanks for the tip my friend! We’ll definitely be back in that area soon.
