@@ProfessorHeyTeeEn After my time in the TDF I'm much the same. Sure you might prefer good ole '97 because it has the GM instead of the Vox in it, but at the end of the day I didn't pick the color and didn't mind.
Just got my hands on a BNC-3S for the first time. This thing is ridiculous. I happened to have an LB-10X lying around, so I swapped out the AC/10, added an extra ton of ammo, and dropped the two Small Lasers for an extra heat sink. Still overheats, but I can get a little more damage out of her before I have to stop shooting the PPCs for a bit. Edit: Just remembered, I didn't add more ammo, I added another heat sink. So, minus two Small Lasers and minus one ton from the AC swap, plus two heat sinks. I could probably swap the PPCs for Large Lasers and add more heat sinks, but where's the fun in that?
LB-10X is a strict upgrade over the regular AC/10 UNLESS you are looking at speciality ammunition. Most simulators don't include the speciality ammunition, sadly.
We have a longstanding 3020 era Battletech and ATOW campaign going. One of our players has been running a field refitted Banshee BNC-3E for much of the campaign. It has survived the most brutal punishment while consistently dishing out kill after kill, often in physical brawls. He replaced the AC5 with a 2nd PPC and heat sinks. This made it a 4/6 Warhammer sans the smaller weapons. It is armored like an Atlas. It is IMO one of the very best Mechs of that era. The only Mech that has done better is a Kintaro run by another player (taken as salvage). He removed the LRM5 for heat sinks and a flamer. This has made it walking death for vehicles. So, the Kintaro has more kills overall but the Banshee has more Mech kills. I highly recommend the BNC-3E, great Mech!
The 3M Banshee (twin PPC) is really a great machine, your field refit of the 3E is also fantastic. Kintaro is a great mech in its weight class as well.
The first battlemech to have a hand actuator was the 45 ton Kyudo KY2-D-01 , which came out in 2443 (2 years before the Banshee BNC-1E) Now the Banshee was the first mech to have TWO hand actuators instead of just one. Very well done video otherwise, however the mic popping between cuts is very unpleasant. Also when it comes to the Banshee, I love the 3M and the 3Mr.
Yeah, I noticed too late about the microphone issues, and I am honestly not sure what was up with that when I was recording. I had entirely forgotten about the Kyudo as it is one of those things which is just not around enough. There were also industrial mechs with hand actuators prior to battlemechs with them as well, from what I can gather.
When I got SLDF "Highlander" in HareBrained "Battletech" game, I immediately downgraded oit, pulling out Gauss rufle and double heat sinks. Then I install them into my Banshee I salvaged earlier. Now I couldn't hear Banshee detractors over sound of tungsten slugs tearing limbs.
I was about to say that if you ever run that refit and can't find another buyer, Phi could always use more second-line refits. Seems like it would be a nasty surprise for a cadet in the third round of a trial of position.
Give it to the kid instead. That "13S" is cheaper than an omnimech, packs a punch and will make sure he survives the most of it. If you guys pay for it, we will make it happen though!
@@ProfessorHeyTeeEn we are technically second-line, so we always have a place for a good battlemech design. We cannot, in good faith, give an assault chassis to a cadet in their trial, though. Maybe if they earned star commander, though.
Banshee was terrible, but the Banshee-S is great even in 3025. I even think it is now pushed as the "default" Banshee in the newer Tech Readout books and video games.
still weird it too over 500 years for someone to wonder why not see what returning the banshee to the speed of its original design will buy us. I can get it in the succession wars since FE 285s aren't exactly common but during the SL years you think at the very least the terran hegonomy milita or SLDF would have had someone tinker with it
Changing the engine on a mech, along with the Gyro, is a massive undertaking. You would need a full functioning mech factory for that to happen, basically.
Ah the banshee, aint much but it can definitely pull its weight, offten swap out the PPC for a Large or a ER Laser to save weight with something less heat intensive so I can swap the AC/5 for a AC/10 and maybe a pulse laser or put in additional heat sinks or double heat sinks and a extra ton of armor
Depends of if you play in simulations or if you actually get out there with these machines. Large lasers are decent enough, but the punch of a PPC is hard to replace on a regular battlefield.
First time I have these many issues in a single video. I think I found the culprit, but rerecording the video and reposting it would get me hit by RUclips reused content system. I might redo a different Banshee video
It hit me watching this video that if we ever get a live action adaptation of the Amaris Coup, Steven Seagal would be Perfect for the role of Amaris
This would be odd yet satisfying.
My strange uncle calls his Sylvanas and has an unhealthy attachment to it. I have no idea why.
I am never one to name my mechs. Sure it's my Archer, it has a custom paint job, but it's just "my Archer".
Some people are more emotional
I call mine by numbers so they know that they are replaceable.

My AWS-8Q AWESOME is named “Rosie “ and I adore the Ole Girl 🥰

Banshee 3E is the only variant absolutely i despise due to the lackluster weapon hardpoints
But...
Brawlin' ain't free. The ability to move 64kmph comes with the weight of a 41 tons GM 380.
Waddya mean? The 3E is great! ...great for setting up a terrible surprise when someone laughs at the 3E and then runs into a 5S!😄

Yeah, the 3S is now viewed as the "basic" Banshee, even though the 3E remains the original.

Balance your sound levels. I keep having to turn the volume up to hear then getting blasted when you cut to a different recording that is louder.

Im a weirdo... I'd take a Banshee over an Atlas any day. Banshee is faster and has more long ramge weapons.
A modern Banshee vs a modern Atlas, I will honestly not be certain which one I would pick.
