Your M1 videos have been a life saver. Have you done a video on how to properly wipe/erase a drive from startup options on the M1 Macs? I have seen inconsistencies and the drive not erasing properly. macOS 11.2.3 seemed to fix some of the issues but still have problems from time to time.
Matthew, thanks for the comment. Yes, I have a factory restore video in the works, and will be going over the changes Apple made to recovery in 11.2 to fix some of the issues that caused problems. 👍
HI Mr. Macinthosh.. very informative video.. as always I have question .. is there possible to install 2 os on 1 m1 machine.. i bought M1.. but Apple already patch to sideload ios app.. so Im just think to install the first version of bigsur on my macbook air
Must the host computer have the ipsw stored on its internal drive to work? All that drive activity will drastically shorten the internal SSD. Can all this be done through a server instead?
@@Mr.Macintosh Alright thanks, I was trying to figure out why I had lost 14GB of storage after reinstalling the Big Sur, and I find out was a macOS install data folder, I was able to delete the items inside the folder and got back my storage, but I wasn’t able to delete the empty macOS install data folder.
I bought 3 M1 Mac minis as host to update, 200 m1 computers and totally fail, will no update o reinstall the latest, I thought was the cables but when I plug my old Intel computer I was able to do it without any problem
This video is a deep dive into the Apple Configurator 2 Restore process on 4 M1 Apple Silicon Macs! Let me know if you have any questions.
This content is super unique

Is there a way to install Big Sur, settings and apps for multiple 2013 Macbook this way? We have so many to do. Thank you.
Hello, this only works for Apple Silicon Macs 2020 and newer.

You bet! You can run 2 containers each running a different version of macos big sur!

The IPSW file has to be stored and restored from Mac Hardware via USB as of right now.
Hi, when you do DFU restore, when you go in the disk utility under Macintosh HD has the APFS com.Apple.os.update?
Hello Adriano, yes this is normal and how big sur boots now. It boots to an APFS snapshot, that's how it will look now.

hey I was wondering if you can use an m1 Mac as a host Mac to restore ANOTHER m1 Mac

It really bugs me how you keep saying ISPW instead of IPSW. It’s been IPSW since 2007 when they were first used for iPhone restores and updates.
So basically you can't reinstall macOS on Apple cilicon without internet anymore even when you have a full install on USB or hard drives
"oh shoot"😂
its been so long since we meet
Like a month right???? 😳 But I'm back baby!
@@Mr.Macintosh true happy you are back
