The thing _SOME_ people do...
Absolute champ. When people say they “appreciate you going the extra mile” this all they really mean.
It was what we were trained to do. When i was a carrier i argued with a UPS guy on chucking someone’s package. He was snooty about it saying that he won’t lose his job and seemed confident and talked down to me being in the cold. (was winter when this happened)
Dont forget. Your delivery drivers such as UPS, Propane, Oil, etc. Leave them a tip every now and then and they will go the extra mile for you everytime
@@poolplexer you cant leave them a tip because someone will walk up, take the cash and be out
Anyway they both get fired as soon as their companies see it fit. Stop telling yourself that you matter to the company. They get rid of you as soon as your health deteriorates, you get issues because of your age or whatever stupid reason they can come up with.

@smashbrother9301 Why? Of 22 employees, I have 7 employees who have been there for over 20 years.. I have not had anyone leave in 2 years. My newest driver has been there 3 years. I Don't Understand Why You Would Say That.

Integrity: doing the right thing even when no one’s looking
These days, as soon as I leave the house I assume that someone is looking. You are on camera constantly from somewhere at all times.
To be fair, he IS the mailman of that area and he knows the neighborhood and all ring cameras and they know him, so...
Or when you think no one is looking lol
As a delivery driver, you should assume that everyone has a video doorbell or cameras watching, and do the right things and not just drop a PKG down on the ground/floor. It doesn't take that much more time.
Except that dude saw the ring door bell and knew he was being watched.
Integrity: doing the right thing when you think no one is watching. Class act.
man, i love your definition
That’s actually the best definition of morality
When he actually knew there’s a ring doorbell though..
@When I Was Born for the 7th Time I doubt it. FedEx pays crappy wages and mistreats their employees so they have a very high turnover and never have enough help. They can’t really afford to fire them. They’ll just move the driver to a different route.
You just define Conscience. Intrigity is consistency in your morals and principles no matter the situation.

I do delivery for amazon flex and I’m always amazed by how some people clearly put no effort in whatsoever. I never imagined it was THAT bad though. That USPS guy is a legit PROFESSIONAL. He deserves the props so I’m glad you posted this!!!!
Even when you’re “just” working delivery, you should treat it how you would want your stuff to be treated! This is such a massive part of our economy now that this stuff actually matters!
I have had a lot of Amazon deliveries, and every single one has also been great! Every Fed Ex-NOT so great. Won't put package on front porch but leave it where I can't see it by garage door. So annoying and unhelpful. Thanks Amazon, USPS and UPS! Fed Ex -no thanks!!!
To be fair to Amazon drivers, they are treated absolutely terrible by their employer with brutal quotas, and very often have no choice but to go to the bathroom inside their vehicle for it to even be possible to meet said quota or they're fired. If Bezos treated them like actual humans, then maybe they would have actual incentive to take pride in their work. That's the main difference between USPS and Amazon.
@@CaseyLaarkamp those drivers are not employed by Amazon, they’re employed by a third-party service provider who is contracted by Amazon. Many of them are independent contractors. Same goes for the semi drivers. Everyone gives Amazon the tea over it, but it’s the DSP (delivery service provider) companies who puts those quotas on them. And usually because there’s a deadline and a previous driver dropped the ball or bailed.
Try going to a fuckin store
Pay structure is to be blamed.
-FedEX Ground drivers are salary based so they are always in rush to finish their job in least possible time.
-USPS or Canada Post drivers get paid on an hourly basis so they will take their sweet time to provide quality service.
My verdict-Delivery drivers should be get paid on an hourly basis. So they don't rush while driving too

I was a Letter Carrier 31 years. Many times I would move a package that was placed in a vulnerable place by UPS or others. It would be just past the porch roof, only a foot or two and it would have been fine. An expensive camera, left at wrong house, in the snow. USPS is the biggest mail deliverer, we make mistakes, but I always felt like I worked for the PEOPLE on my route. And I knew the people, I was there daily. And treated them well, cause I care. And I was the average carrier.
One time I ordered something heavy and the USPS guy brought it, rang the doorbell, I answered and he asked if I would like for him to put it inside the door. I was very grateful as I'm a 70-year old female.
The woman came while the weather was amazing and did throw It away and this guy took his time under the rain. God Bless him.

When I used to deliver papers back in the 1990s for the area newspaper, our instructions were
1) In the branded box for the paper if they had 1
2) If they made a special request, such as to slip between the doors, this would be noted on the notes of the route
3) up on the porch right next to their front door
At all times it was to be placed in a safe from weather spot if at all possible, not thrown like it is now from a car driving down the street. Had icing one time where the paper delivery slid across our driveway into our neighbors yard under the tree halfway across their yard. These drivers don't seem to care about their customer service. When I did it before being laid off to hire these drivers, I made sure the papers were where they were requested to be.

My regular mailman is the best. He's so good, I can tell when he's on vacation or otherwise has a day off because the ppl they have to cover his route aren't worth sht and I'm lucky if my packages make it to the box, let alone the larger ones being put outside the door to our apartment. I have found boxes just left in the common areas near our community mailbox stand, under the stairwell, left at neighbors' doors, and notices left to pick up when there was enough room to fit the item in our box. These things only happen when our regular guy is off (I know he's off that day because I started keeping a lookout to see who was doing deliveries when I expected a package and who bothered to do their job right vs who took every shortcut they could and rushed through the deliveries, making mistakes). The sad thing is that the post office manager dgaf about those crappy temp employees.

I use to always grab all the carts and put them in the railing thing for the workers and so they didnt bump someone's car, or just overall they were blocking parking spots.
Even when I saw the worker doing it already I would run around and grab the further ones for them.
Idk I was like 12 and did it till I was about 17 or so. Now I got a lot of health and spinal issues so I'm in constant pain and that type of stuff just... I can't be bothered as much as I want to help out

While I am all for this guy getting a raise or bonus, I think most delivery drivers assume they're being filmed nowadays since everyone seems to have doorbell cameras. You'd have to be blind not to see a doorbell camera
@@brownie_shenandoah Honestly, as a part time amazon delivery driver. It has nothing to do with the cameras. If you have the mind set of "How would you want someone to treat your packages" is the reason we do it. Camera or not, I would've did the same thing the guy did. I do it everyday.

Seems a lot more like spite than laziness. Sure, she may have been having a bad day, but that's not the customer's fault. I feel that we women really need to learn to manage our emotions at work. I learned this the hard way. It's also a good idea to consider whether a job really suits you. You never want to be the person who's prone to venting their frustrations on other people. Be gentle, be kind. At the very least, just don't drop the box :)

A mail carrier does more in one day than any FedEx or UPS driver… they don’t even sort or load their own packages… they come to work hop on a pre loaded truck and drive off… mean while your mail mail carrier is sort mail and packages, loading a truck full of Amazon packages amongst every other retailer… then delivering not only your packages but your mail too to over 300 customers, getting signature items signed for picking up outgoing mail and packages at the end of the day, sort through that… all while he nicely sits the package at the door… thanks for not having a one sided perspective. live and love life 😃

Work in an industry that sends out a lot of certified letters. Some years ago we had a USPS carrier that would pick them up from us and bring back the post marked receipts the next day instead of the normal procedure of us going to the PO daily, and standing in line to the the receipts stamped. Especially fun in December.
Miss him.
Many years ago our UPS driver did something out of the ordinary that my company gained benefit from. Being the appreciative guy that I am, I called the local terminal to brag about our driver. The next day our driver told me to never call the terminal. He was written up for breaking company rules, not commended for helping a customer.
The driver told me that he would continue providing better service as long as I promised to never call the terminal again.
