It does work. I own one myself. But it tastes better if you do two things. 1.) Toast the bread yourself. It's misleading to suggest the machine toasts it for you. It doesn't. It just warms the exterior. 2.) Once you take it out of the machine, let it sit for 3-5 minutes. Otherwise it just tastes hot. By letting it cool, it allows the ingredients to get to know each other more for a better tasting sandwich.
Mine toasts the bread just fine. I use whole wheat bread cut into circles by the rim of a 30oz insulated tumbler. Fits perfectly. I use a Taylor pork roll slice and shredded cheddar cheese along with the egg. Timed for 4 minutes, I have a perfectly toasted sandwich.
I`ve used this product for quite awhile now and I can say that that was a good move, moving the cheese to just on top of the bottom half of the English muffin.Too many times I`ve put the cheese just below where the egg will end up and I`ve found that the egg will quickly slide off the cheese if they are together.Yes you can still make a good sandwich in a skillet, but this way is faster and closer to what you would buy in a fast food joint.
My husband and I bought one of these a yr ago Christmas 2016 we liked it so much we bought one for our daughter and grandsons this Christmas 2017. When the boys would come over grandpa would make them a sandwich and they loved it.. We love it.. Quick easy simple if you don't want to make a huge mess or you are in a hurry. We did start with wheat english muffins, put cheese, any kind of lunch meat, put the other part down then the egg and poke to brake it..Now we just use the circle of the ring to make it fit, then put the same in it to make the sandwich Close the lid time it then done.. ****You Do NOT need to spay it ****
I have this and I have to say it is a breakfast lifesaver! This device is mostly geared for the people who don't have the time to get out a pan and a bunch of ingredients to make a full breakfast in the mornings and you can cook all the ingredients at the same time. Five minutes is all it takes and you have a delicious but quick breakfast sandwich. I was in school at the time and always had super busy mornings so I can't even tell you how many times I had to skip out on breakfast because I just didn't have the time. Poptarts just wasnt doing it anymore. I really loved the Jimmy Dean sandwiches but they are like 6 bucks for a box of 4 so they got expensive fast and I'm on a budget. I saw this in a store and thought it's cheap and I love these sandwiches so why not? Amazing breakfast investment. Also this makes it so it's homemade and you know what kind of products your putting in your sandwich and it doesn't have freezer burn. I literally just put all the ingredients in this little device leave it for the five minutes to get my bag and keys and by the time I get back bam perfect breakfast fast. Must buy if your a student or a busy mom juggling your kids in the morning.
Been making my own for a few years using whole wheat muffins and egg whites. I blend a Morning Star Soy Sausage Patty with 1/4 cup of salsa in processor. Makes enough for 3-4 sammies. Mix a tsp with 1/3 cup egg white. Yum yum!
One of my favorite gadgets in my kitchen. It is also tough. mine has made hundreds of sandwiches, and is no worse for wear. I got one for my mom, who is not really into gadgets like these. She and my dad love it! A real HB home run.
I love mine. However I like putting my muffin in the toaster first. I have also added pepper to the egg and it tastes better. :) Much better than McDonalds. Recommend this.
I've seen this product so many places, I am like you, I can make breakfast sandwiches without a gadget! Speaking of sandwiches I have a great idea for a video for you! Bagel Sandwiches! Most people see a bagel as just something to smear cream cheese on, but I see it as a great base for an awesome sandwich. If you do end up making a video on this you have to try my favorite: Toast a Cinnamon Raisin bagel, heat a few slices of turkey and a slice of cheddar cheese to where the cheese is melty (I do it in the microwave for 45 sec- 1 min). Then, add a small amount of yellow mustard to the bagel and place the turkey and cheese on and enjoy! It sounds crazy but just trust me, it is absolutely amazing! Rock on dude and keep pumping out the awesome videos!
We got my dad one of these because he heads out to work really early in the morning. He loves this thing lol, it's really a nice product just like you said Jack. I use it sometimes too when I'm heading to class and don't have time to stop to get food. Very convenient and I like that you can make it however you like!
I have one of these...works as you say. It also works superbly for cooking frozen pancakes (brand sizes vary...I found Sobeys "Compliments"...found here in Eastern Canada, fit perfect) with ham in the middle.
I make a killer breakfast sandwich on the stove too, but I bought this gadget 3 days ago and it makes it way faster than a stove sandwich. I highly recommend this product!
I've had one for several years and I really like it. You have to use an egg if you want some variety. Add a couple of tablespoons of salsa, a couple dashes of chipotle, and you can use regular bread. Just use the ring to cut the bread.
I have one of these and it works real well. I use it often. Come to think of it, you probably could use it to toast muffins without the egg and meat. Be advised the meat has to be pre-cooked.
Nice review, I was given this as a gift last Xmas '13 and have been using it with much success since. You are correct about english muffins, the store brands work great in this device
I'm glad you reviewed this product. I was very curious myself on how it worked or didn't work. I'm not big on these types of sandwiches but I bet some others can be made in there as well. At least I'd be crazy enough to try that out anyway, lol!
I’ve been binge watching videos on this Hamilton Beach breakfast sandwich maker because I want to buy one for my mom as part of her Christmas presents. So far I’ve only heard good things about it so I’m going to pull the trigger and get her one. I might get her the double sandwich maker just in case my dad wants something to.
I really need this. I have to leave for school at 645 since my dad has to go to a few elementary schools beforehand (a different one everyday) then drops me off at school. I've always been making eg sandwiches with waffles as the bread, because I'm not a big fan of English muffins. This would actually make it a little easier for me.
At first I honestly didn't think it would be successful but once you started assembling the sandwich I was impressed. I thought the egg would stick or leak out just based on how the device was made but I was wrong. That seems like a good product for busy mornings or people like me whom make the ugliest (but always tasty) sandwiches.
I got one of these last year and LOVE it. I use it all the time. I usually mix the egg in a bowl with some salt and pepper before pouring it in the top section. I saw recently that they came out with a double model so you can make two at a time which would be perfect for my wife and I! :)
I still enjoy this gadget thanks to Jack. So many variations, Canadian bacon, bacon, ham, sausage, salami, cold cuts, hot dogs, mini snausages, plus your fave cheeze.
I oddly have 3 Hamilton beach appliances in the house that were bought at different times. It was odd but they're all really good. I like Hamilton beach products hope this works.
A work friend gives me one for Christmas. I am intrigued, as I think it is a sandwich press type of thing. After checking some reviews I see it is really highly rated. I think through the technical and personal pitfalls of this product. I went from pleased and liking the product, to not liking it, not wanting it and downright hating it to the point of not giving it to my lady friend who is interested in it. I have not even taken it out of the box!
Was glad to see that this was reviewed because I actually plan on buying one, I have bought other items like this before and the results were not as described or advertised; so thank you again for reviewing this item.
Got one of these as a gift one time, cool gadget, but it really doesn't make the breakfast sandwich process much easier. All you have to do is put an english muffin in the toaster, fry an egg and canadian bacon (which you can do in the same pan), and throw it together with a slice of cheese on the muffin. Not hard.
Got one. Im in the uk so need a 110 transformer to use it but its good. Theres also a recipie book you can get for it with ooads of different sandwiches in.
+OIFEagle I've owned the sandwich maker for over a year now and have to agree with you on it. The thing is a nightmare to clean and just doesn't do much more than what a good compact toaster or toaster oven can do along with a skillet / microwave. It's also easy to leak egg if it isn't preheated all the way. x x;
Wow, how rude. RUclips hasn't shown me your updates for a long time, I thought there was a hiatus or something. Finally check in, there's a huge amount of videos out I never saw. Thanks RUclips ;P With that being said, I'm buying this thanks to you. I struggle to make breakfast quickly each morning so I usually buy breakfast sandwiches that are pre-made, full of who knows what and endless amounts of sodium. This seems so fast and easy, I'll be doing this from now on
You gave me an idea for dinner tomorrow. Egg and ham sandwich with pickle and a salad. Thanks Jack. Like you, I can do 2 of these in 5 minutes. Great review!
Use whole wheat bread cut by the rim of a 30oz aluminum insulated mug (perfect size circle). One slice of bread, a tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese, a slice of pork roll, close the lower part, crack an egg (I like to break the yellow with the egg shell), top with second piece of bread then close the top. Set timer for 4 minutes. Listen for the beep, unplug. Lift top, slide away the upper plate dropping the egg onto the pork roll slice, pierce all layers with a toothpick then slide the whole ensemble onto a small plate that you've placed a napkin on. It can be drippy, reason for the napkin... Enjoy!
I agree Jack. 5 minutes of convenience isn't worth 10 minutes of cleanup after. I'm also leery about how it cooks the egg. But that's just me. My electric skillet still has a job.
Hey Jack, have you ever heard of Blue Apron? It's a company that sends you farm-fresh ingredients to make an entire meal. They deliver weekly. Maybe you should try it. I would love to see what you think.
Nicole9605 not enough mass appeal yet. Only in selected areas and would probably not go over well with my world wide audience. Also, I'm not a big fan of food to door services yet. No one has perfected it.
Hello Jack, could you do a review on The Hamilton Beach Breakfast Burrito Maker? It's their newest product within this line. You can even make a pancake or crepe on the bottom plate.
I'm impressed! Very nice breakfast sammy maker. Can it make anything else for breakfast? Like something similar to the McGriddle? Just curious. Good review and video Jack. TFS & have a good weekend. :)
After watching this vid, I found one of these gadgets at Volunteers of America junk store for 6$. So I bought it. It looked like new, perhaps used a few times. It was in the original box. So I made egg McMuffins for breakfast for five people, a crumpet, slice of cheddar cheese, ham, 1 egg, and crumpet top.
Unless you eat those every day this will just take up space in the kitchen, I can imagine someone buying this, using it for a few weeks then it getting put to the back of the cupboard to gather dust.
I have made the basic egg McMuffin a lot and it just seems easier to do it with a toaster and a frying pan (or just a frying pan). This seemed to have to much moving around of metal pieces. Is it just me?
That's the only way I buy them if it's a buy one get 2 free deal at my local grocery store here in Michigan..Other wise I buy the off brand which is thicker..
could come in handy if you want something cooked for Breakfast but d not have time or need t make breakfast for more than your self.I could see how this would be pretty cool to have will have to look into it for sure.

This dope haha
+FreakComputer2001 i was thinking the same lol
FreakComputer2001 dude! I was thinking the same too!!!😂😂
I bite my sandwiches like that if you have a problem with it come and see me!
I do as well. I'd rather eat it nicely than have my sandwich turn into a big smiley face and smear all over me depending on what's on it
I got mine last week and i was scare of it not working
but hat down
i love it 🥰
plus side husband love it
I have one of these at home. It works wonderfully! Best breakfasts for someone in a hurry.
We got my dad one of these because he heads out to work really early in the morning. He loves this thing lol, it's really a nice product just like you said Jack. I got one for my bf's mom for mother's day a couple of years ago. She and his dad enjoy it. They didn't need the double cooker.
As an English person, those are not proper English muffins. They don't have holes for starters.
At first I honestly didn't think it would be successful but once you started assembling the sandwich I was impressed. Cooking With Jack Show Cool, same here
+Cooking With Jack Show this looks like a McDonalds egg mcmuffin
Cooking With Jack Show out of all the cooking devices you own, which would you say is the 1 that you use the most ?
Have one, haven't tried it yet. Good to see it works!
Thank you!! I got one of these last Christmas, and I have been wondering how to use it, and a good recipe for it! This was so helpful!
Thank you so much for this video. I’m staying at a friends house who has one of these and wanted to try it. Worked great!
Thanks Jack, nicely done
Thank you too!
Got one. Im in the uk so need a 110 transformer to use it but its good. Theres also a recipie book you can get for it with ooads of different sandwiches in.
Nifty gadget, But what else can it do? I can make the same thing with a frying pan in less time, with less clean up, and for less money.
Jimmy Dean, man... Jimmy Dean.

Bien explicado compañero! Gracias!
Hello Jack, remember your perfect pancake pan review? those pancakes will fit this Sandwich Maker.
I use Bubba’s English muffins (which are equal halves) and there is also a new version of this machine that has an integrated timer!
Couldn't stop staring at the bling the whole time👌

Hello Jack, could you do a review on The Hamilton Beach Breakfast Burrito Maker? It's their newest product within this line. You can even make a pancake or crepe on the bottom plate.
Top work jack!
I am so glad you also noticed the Shortcomings of Thomas English Muffins...
That is what I am talking about. Real life, real time tests. Good job from a continuing subscriber.
I'm impressed! Very nice breakfast sammy maker. Can it make anything else for breakfast? Like something similar to the McGriddle? Just curious. Good review and video Jack. TFS & have a good weekend. :)
Kelly Carpenter you have a great weekend too. I bet waffles could be used. put them in frozen.
Love your channel especially reviews @cooking with jack.
Perfect Lazy Mans Device Lol Cooking With Jack Show
I'm so glad u loved. I have one and I love it too
I'm so happy this works!!!
Love this machine. Can't wait to get it 😁
After watching this vid, I found one of these gadgets at Volunteers of America junk store for 6$.
So I bought it. It looked like new, perhaps used a few times. It was in the original box.
So I made egg McMuffins for breakfast for five people, a crumpet, slice of cheddar cheese, ham, 1 egg, and crumpet top.
More product reviews its my favorite thing about your channel
fishboy0099 another product tomorrow and another one next week
Yay
I’m from Briton and never in my life have I seen an English muffin
Its like "french fries"
I'd buy this product. Very useful.
wonderful product
I have one of these and it's awesome. Jack has the best technique yet! Defiantly use the spray, you won't be sorry! ;)
My Husband said the same thing about english muffins. cheap is not always better but sometimes it is.
Very cool for a breakfast sandwich maker. Better than the 'Easy Eggwich'.
Unless you eat those every day this will just take up space in the kitchen, I can imagine someone buying this, using it for a few weeks then it getting put to the back of the cupboard to gather dust.
@@gtxoiltastebad Damn straight..lol..
I have made the basic egg McMuffin a lot and it just seems easier to do it with a toaster and a frying pan (or just a frying pan). This seemed to have to much moving around of metal pieces. Is it just me?
This is the first time i saw someone successfully make a breakfast sandwich with that product. Good job on the review :D
Dude I was trying to binge watch your videos and I got so hungry I had to run out and go get something to eat
I live in England and the cheap generic ones you use are exactly how we have them here!
hey jack could you do some large family (group) meals...maybe even ones for freezer meals.
Hey! Question when I put in the egg it leaks and goes everywhere am I doing something wrong?
So that explains why they are always doing deals at my Grocery store on Thomas' english muffins... It's literally Buy 1 get 2 free.
That's the only way I buy them if it's a buy one get 2 free deal at my local grocery store here in Michigan..Other wise I buy the off brand which is thicker..
I can maybe see that for someone without a real kitchen, but nice to know it is quality.
could come in handy if you want something cooked for Breakfast but d not have time or need t make breakfast for more than your self.I could see how this would be pretty cool to have will have to look into it for sure.
Kewl review! Might pick this up for my sister.
KevinLynnPorter you can get it on amazon amzn.to/18V0D6N

When I first started cooking professionally training to be a sushi chef at the time, my parents told my grandma. She bought me this exact same model, bless her heart. She also bought me a SpongeBob teddy bear.
I just gave it to my neighbor lol but I sleep with my SpongeBob teddy bear every night (:
finally more product review
I feel like this is great for college students like myself. While the machine is heating up, I can make some bacon or ham in the microwave to add to my sandwich.
bacon in the microwave?
Matthew Nakhla Yes, that's what I said.
+Matthew Nakhla bacon is the best microwaved
Styl x no
Yeah, I stopped buying Thomas's a long time ago. They went downhill.
They really have.
I just bumped into this gadget and searched for a review and got here. Can you say if it'll work with bagels or regular sliced bread?
Ok I would buy this. Not much into gadgets but .... yeah good review :-)
Amei ja comprei a minha tambem
Great review jack! Just wondering does it work if you break the yolk?
YellowBanana it should. The egg stays contained due to the panel being hot. It cooks as soon as it hits.
I have one, and the "instructions" say to pierce the yolk.
going to try it
It's dinnertime and now I want breakfast. Great review. I'll have at it!
Wow it worked!
Geeez, talk about the epitome of a uni-tasker. Alton Brown would have a stroke.
lol yeah he did they even used it as a sabotage on cut throat kitchen
Uni-tasker???? Too is only limited by the hands it's in! :)
Franz makes good English miffins!
That thing is cool, I used to make mine in my nuwave.
It's funny how scared of heat this "chef" is lol
I would love to see some lazy man's healthy recipes, being a college student that combo would be awesome!
