This is the best video I’ve seen breaking down play. While It’s cool to see the pro game level analysis, the 4.0-5.0 analysis is so much more relatable because I can see myself in these videos making similar mistakes and adjustments - more please! And great job!
One of the best PB analysis videos! John would you consider doing a video on pattern recognition and how to construct and execute a point(s) while using or recognizing common patterns? Very few people discuss this, but I think this is something all the pros work on and use but hardly ever discuss. Thanks John!
Thank you John, great game without it being drawn out and too long, great analysis even for me who’s pretty new to the game. All players were good to learn from and fun to watch. Well done!
I have watched nearly all your videos, so THANKS for your great instruction. I totally agree that the far team’s return of serve needs to be much deeper. This would keep the near team back longer. Also, I feel the far team hits their 3rd shot drops too high or deep. They seem to be hitting their shots as the ball bounces up (still has pace) instead of waiting for the return of serve to bounce, reach the apex, start to drop, and only then hit their 3rd shot drop resulting in much more accuracy. Waiting for the apex, then drop, has made a huge difference in the accuracy of my own 3rd shot drop.
I really liked this content and yes I would like to see more. If I had one criticism it would be that often you are making a point but you allow the game play to continue so that by the time you are done it is way past the point you are making. I would freeze the action when making a specific point until you are done and then letting the play continue. You don't need to do that all the time just when making a specific point. Maybe a poor example but you mentioned one team doing short returns. You could stop the action on one of the short servers to show clearly what you mean. Most of the other analysis is more general so it doesn't need to stop the play. Just my 2 cents.
Love this!! Please more of these! Not too many people are doing these kind of videos. Have you considered video analysis?: where you upload your play to you and you give audio feedback. I would pay for this kind of service!
Thank you for your and your friends time, even though they were having more fun than you. :) Great video quality and agree w/ below. To pause video to explain a specific topic. :) IMO, if it is a rec play, both players are 'fairly' equal and I play up to the better opponent and down to the opponent who is not as good. It is actually great training to think about your shots. Tournament play, best player hits more. I watched this video twice. The second tim to go back and follow your narrative better and it was so good, I wanted to watch it twice for the information. Thank you again.
This was super helpful, would love to see more of these! Would also be helpful (maybe this is a different video entirely) to see breakdowns of decisions/shots the 4.5-5.0 players make during gameplay that a 5.5-6.0 player would do differently
Thank you John. This is very helpful analysis greatly appreciated and if I could get some more information on project flex. That would be greatly appreciated As well thank you!
good analysis, I'm left handed. so i struggle with some players, also struggle with players where I'm the stronger player and unable to win as my partner hitting high, long, hard shots instead of dropping into the kitchen. ugh.
I think what I hear more lately about guys going almost to the right sideline in front of their partner is the guy getting burned behind them 10+ times a match when they go so far. I think there's a huge difference between aggressive big middle and putting your team in a bad situation for no reason.
Fantastic info on great play. Maybe a little stop action, reverse and slo-mo with your insights/commentary where a shot selection or court positioning could be better. Love to see more of 3.0 to 4.0 play and also 3.5 against 4.0+. I always find when we play doubles against better players things fall apart quicker than expected and I am left wondering what we should have done better and when ☠
Hi John, Thanks for the video. This is very helpful. Could you please advise on how to a 3rd short for a ball which is low with lot of back spin? Should I slice or drop?
Cool video. Your analysis is great. I'd like to see some videos on singles strategies. Feel like doubles gets a lot of love already but there just isn't enough on singles.
It's hard to find play examples on RUclips where you're sure the ratings are as advertised. You've got no-one here with a DUPR of less than 4.75. It would be useful to have another one with an average around 4.25, but I'm not sure those are your kind of students. Considering the level of play, I was surprised that some of your recommendations were fairly basic, such as deeper return of serve and more consistent attack to the back-hand side of the heavy hitter.
Majority of advice is broad, for example hit deep returns etc etc. Difference is being able to do that consistently is what will set you apart from the average 4.0 to 5.0 player.
Hey John, I emailed you, but I didn't get any response from you. If you have time, please check your email. I'm still waiting for your response. Thanks!
Tons of fun, John. Thanks for having us on, breaking it down, and shouting out Project FLEX! 🙌🏽
I love what you are doing with the youth!!!!!!!!!!

I’m starting to focus more on game strategy this year and this video was excellent. Please do more!
Great video. The commentary was really helpful

Yes, more analysis and levels. Love your content in general.
Very educational and interesting watch! Please do more 5.0 mix and gender vids!! Thank you
been playing for a few months and need to learn where to put the ball based on game situations is what I need. This helps a lot!
Great job breaking most points down, much appreciated!
Love your videos, John. Great content. What a surprise to see Molly and Harsh in the “underground court!” Super cool
Thank you!!! This is very helpful!

More, please! :)
This was good! How about one at 3.0 to 3.5 level?
Subscribed!
Please do more analysis and better camera coverage please
Thank you for taking the time to make helpful content. Game analysis for 4.0-4.5 mens doubles please.
I play a lot like harsh and to counter me you just need to keep attacking my backhand. I can attack with it but its not as good.

Okay... 3 minutes in, the young lady is lifting her left foot. She must have had ballet lessons as a child.
The guy in black hat is a ball hog.....
Hey John, I emailed you, but I didn't get any response from you. If you have time, please check your email. I'm still waiting for your response. Thanks!
No way they are 4.5+. Too sloppy moves - Must be some fake DUPR
