      But you’re not tho, wtf is this “stop trying at all” bs. Obvs if you’re playing with lesser skilled players sure tone it down a bit but anyone who is close I ain’t going soft on

      When my buddies and wives started (all over 50), I thought it would be a nice workout and some fun. However, one guy play college football and is extremely competitive. It’s now sort of a death match scenario when we all get together to play. Not much fun at the beginning, but now after a few months, the skill level has really gone up and we are having a lot of fun. Most importantly is that everyone is on the same page.

      It’s part of the game just like getting decked in football or dunked on in basketball. Disrespectful but part of the game. Softees just have to learn to deal with it.

    This video is great. Ya’ll explain things way better and easier than other influencers. Not to mention the b-roll demonstration that doesn’t even seem like acting. Honestly, I’m just super impressed with how much effort was put into this video. Bravo.

    Great Information! Along with that, your video editing is right on. Many, many other video coaches explain the technique, then show a piece of video that doesn’t actually show it happening. Thank you!

    This video has been extremely real. Not just ideas, but reality of what happens. I can use these tips and will look for player patterns, imbalances of how a team plays together, player preferences for shots and nerves around the kitchen and characteristics much more. I do not expect instant success but will have to educate myself as I play real games knowing I may get beat incorporating your tactics. Really great stuff.

    This is a great video! You focused on simplicity with your breakdowns and avoiding being too nuanced so your video could be immediately useful to a wider audience. I assume your comment about forehand takes the middle was for open play where it might be too complicated to explain the “x concept”. You do mention later about what if 1 player is left handed, but I just wanted to confirm that you believe for higher level play that the “x concept” supersedes “forehand takes middle”. I personally love taking advantage of opponents who adhere to forehand takes middle. So easy to pick on the player with forehand in the middle when they are straight across from you. Keep up the great work, I am a fan.

    Interesting that at least one of you use a one handed topspin dink/speedup off the bounce. Would be great to do a video on that if you havent already. Im transitioning to 2hbh and have the 1hbh speed up off the air that i use regularly, but have always felt that the 1hbh bounce speed up klmight be worth developing even if most pros dont use it....it just seems hard to keep the ball of the bounce in front of you enough but maybe its just a footwork issue

      Not only do they force them back, but its surprising how many times they will whiff entirely.

  • @yasim9435

    How do you train to anticipate lob? What are the signs and what precaution should be taken to return it ?

    • @CrackedPickleball
      @CrackedPickleball  5 месяцев назад +4

      This is Shea, I’m not great at reading lobs to be honest. I primarily look for paddle angle and backswing. If they are really beneath the ball and have a bigger than normal backswing, it’s likely a lob. However it’s quite easy to disguise a lob as a regular dink so it’s difficult to know. Caleb might have a better answer for you!

    • @Rob-dp3vr
      @Rob-dp3vr 25 дней назад

      I'm no one to give advice yet, but I can say that it's almost impossible to predict a lob because there is no real differentiating body language prior to the shot. But the adjustment I made to react is that as soon as I recognize a deep lob, I abort any attempt to hit it from underneath, and I immediately hurry back to get behind it. There, I can watch to see if it lands out, and if not, return it accordingly. Because before that, I'd lose time trying to track it and determine if I wanted to return it from up high. Steps are precious.
      So I just assume it's a tough shot, scurry back, get behind it, and wait for it to drop. I'm also 5'9, so I don't have a height advantage.

  • @Rob-dp3vr
    @Rob-dp3vr 25 дней назад +1

    Question. I started playing recently. I've played 6 days, probably 30 games. It was drilled into me how the kitchen is off limits, and the rules thoroughly explained. So why is it that when watching the men's doubles championship games in Naples recently, online, they kept stepping into the kitchen, and it was never called? And I mean very clearly, 1 foot entirely in the kitchen while scooping a shot. I saw it happen a dozen times, all very obvious, and none were called. Am I missing something?

    • @CrackedPickleball
      @CrackedPickleball  23 дня назад +1

      The kitchen is actually called the “non-volley zone” which means you just can’t hit a ball out of the air in the zone. Youre free to step in there and hit a ball that bounces in the kitchen though! It actually makes dinks much easier! You just can’t volley while a foot is in the zone

  • @yasim9435

    Do you have any concerns of hitting opponents into face when targeting their shoulder ? In tennis that would bad sportsmanship I var majority of cases.

    • @CrackedPickleball
      @CrackedPickleball  5 месяцев назад +2

      Definitely be careful, that’s why we recommend only doing this in a match where others expect it. Pickleball is more close quarters than tennis and hitting the head can happen more often. Just don’t be intentional about it!

  • @Goofymonkey11
    @Goofymonkey11 5 месяцев назад

    Great video but did you really say don’t use the speed up at the rec level?! If you meant don’t try to take their head off with the speed up I agree.

    • @CrackedPickleball
      @CrackedPickleball  5 месяцев назад +6

      Depends on the type of rec play 🤷‍♂️
      But in general we mean control your power so you don’t injure people who aren’t prepared for it

    • @Goofymonkey11
      @Goofymonkey11 5 месяцев назад +1

      Ah gotcha. Yeah, I agree with that. If it’s a weaker player I don’t slam overheads at them or try to drive balls at full speed through them. Thanks for clarifying 👍🏻

    And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)
    And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
