The thing about online is all it takes is a few times for it to be unavailable and you are done with it. Many people don't have the luxury to game whenever they want because they have obligations. So when they can negotiate a chunk of time to game and that time is lost because the service is unavailable they are done with it. The solution is online has to be made to be a hybrid. You get pieces of it that can run locally. Kind of like when you install a game you can start playing before the game is completely installed. You only need your current progression and then some.
RE VII is arguably the best game in the series; the fact that under 2k people have paid for it on iphone just strengthens the idea that people want phones for quick, 15-30 minute distractions and not 20-hour campaigns. While I think its great that the game is on iphone 15, the game will only run on the newest phones using the newest iOs, and the percentage of those people who meet those qualifications, who also want to play full-on console games, is apparently quite low. To me, phones are better suited to Candy Crush and other short, distraction type games.
On the phone side of things, there’s also only two iPhones that can even play these games and I’m sure the control input is also a factor but I am glad that it’s happening as phones have been more than powerful enough for some time. Some of these companies like Nintendo and sega should release there own retro emulators for the mobile market
The problem with these games on iOS is they only run on the newest iPhones and M1 - M4 iPads. This locks out a big part of iOS users. And then the games don’t run that great either.
I think they run fine enough in the m2 and m4. And it’s nice having it in iOS, iPadOS MacOS. But yes, not many have the latest arm or m-chips. And there’s no guarantee that games will stay on the store and supported with future updates. Plus the fact that most of the big games are on consoles and PC and play much better.
I think Game Pass core and PlayStation Plus essential both need to be free. Maybe Sony and Microsoft would have more console sales like in the old days if these lower-tier subscriptions were actually free to the public, especially since they're only for internet not really for games. And model these two tiers after the steam store, where you will not be locked out of your games that you bought on both Xbox and PlayStation.😊
Doubt Rockstar will release a port of only gta online, it just doesn't make sence, gta online uses the same map and even more resources than just plain gta v
Let’s also not forget the fact that a lot of these games that have come out so far are several years old as well as better experiences on most other systems that they are on.another thing is nobody knows these games even exist on mobile the only people who probably know are people who watch this channel or die hard fans lol none of my friends who game even knew that resident evil or death Stranding games were on iOS.
I want Gears of War E-Day to be crossplay and on PS5. And it's not so much about me being able to play it on PS5 or whatever. I'm on PC so I'll be playing it no matter what. It's because I want to play it with my friends. Most people that I know who used to be Gears fans back in the 360 days moved on to different platforms, many of them are now on PS5. If the game is locked to X-Box and PC it's going to be very difficult to get people together again. And without multiplayer and coop I will probably end up just playing through the campaign once and be done with it, which would be a shame to be honest.
I can guarantee that Herman Hulst, Hideaki Nishino, Doug Bowser, Shuntaro Furukuwa, Phil Spencer, Matt Booty, Sarah Bond as well as all the other heads of gaming companies/studios/publishers would laugh at you as you literally don't have a clue as to what you are talking about 🤣
@@jakemartinez6894 You're a bit stupid right? Games MADE FOR touchscreen sell well. I doubt it. But games made for a controller have absolute trash control and won't sell much more than the touchscreen based games...
People get way too focused on game length these days. A good, shorter game with less padding is going to have increased chance of being replayed. A 100 hour game that you never touch again gives less long term value than a 20 or 30 hour game you play 5+ times over the years.
Yes, replayability is good for shorter games. That's why rogue-like games are good in that regard, never the same each time. Longer games are for the weekend or vacation for the majority of adults.
AAA games can never ever thrive on mobile devices because of how much processing power required. It can only damage devices in the long run because of intense thermal output. Appropriate games for appropriate devices i say.
I pay for my games to own them, not rent them. Blockbusters went out of business a decade ago, and most gaming subscription services will probably die within the next decade.
Blockbuster didnt go out of business for renting, they went out of business for not changing the business model like their competitors did. MOST people like to play games and move to the next one, collectors like you are Blockbuster, Gamepass subbies are Netflix.
People should also mention that all these console games on mobile only available on the top apple devices, even iPhone 14 Pro Max is not good enough for them. Now try counting how many of 15 Pro Max users there is, how many of them are gamers and how many of those gamers are willing to get them on mobile, ofc the number is small
Firestick gamepass bundle is a good idea. I tried gamepass on my firestick and it wasn't that bad. Tried TMNT shredder's revenge, Gears 5, and Fortnite. I did notice lag playing Fortnite.
My problem with playing the big title games on mobile phone is I hate on screen controls. I need a device that lets me hold the controller and the phone at the same time so there is an extra expense to get it started on mobile games on the iPhone. You also forgot that Apple Arcade is only five dollars a month.
I reached 100% in Yoshi's Crafted World today in arround 35h. I don't trust any numbers about "how fast to beat a Game" or "how much hours in content". Since this is super subjective.

My problem with playing the big title games on mobile phone is I hate on screen controls. I need a device that lets me hold the controller and the phone at the same time so there is an extra expense to get it started on mobile games on the iPhone.
Coming from a person whose growing to be more and more a PC gamer, consoles will always have their place. My PC does not replace my Nintendo Switch or PS4. I still get plenty of game time out of those consoles, only the tribalists play on just one platform and act like they're better because of it. Same with when cloud gaming. I live in a rural area, cloud gaming isn't really an option for me because the choices of internet in my area isn't good enough for game streaming. My area just now got access to internet good enough for movie and TV streaming without having a data cap (if only it was reliable lol). There will always be a reason for consoles, physical media, digital downloads to exist. And by the time it's a relic of the past, there's a good chance I'll be a relic of the past as well. At the very least I'll be too old for it to have long term effects.
I think Xbox pushing their streaming service like that before improving it, is going to have the opposite effect that they want. Leaving many feeling burned and giving them a bad experience, making them look elsewhere and staying away from the Xbox brand
This whole Game Pass without a system is throwing me off. Say if you like the game and it leaves Game Pass then you cannot play the game unless you have the system to purchase it. That would drive me nuts.
Doesn't confirm anything that a job listing wants that exp. There may be technical reasons behind the scenes in which those skills would be applicable elsewhere.
It would be good for Xbox to remain in the console space, competition-wise. But if they going all-in on PC and Streaming, I can imagine that being a wise move.
I feel "real" gaming on phones cannot happen as long as there are no phones with build in buttons. You cannot expect your customer to buy 3rd party clampshell controllers. Very few do. And half of them only play games made before 1999. Games like Resident Evil are not meant to be played with a touch screen.
Cloud gaming on phones needs better input options than screen buttons. I played RE7 on GamePass Cloud (because I'm a scaredy cat) using the Razor Kishi. It was only fine.
Achievements external to games I've never understood beyond a weird social hierarchy. The game should stand on its own merits. Players can harness their internal dopamine for anything beyond that, like speedrunners.
evermillcreek Speedrunners? You mean people notorious for using external sites to track their times and compete... Achievements are content mate, doesn't matter if they're built in to an in-game challenge list or part of a platform's infrastructure. Why do people search for mods to games outside of official sources.
@@jakemartinez6894 you've made a good point about modders, they are probably more open to those sorts of things and sure, utilising external trackers is up to each person. It doesn't have to be imposed as a global system by the developers when a game can just have them self-contained. For Nintendo, who don't need to gamify their software externally, it's probably at best a redundant feature, at worst a potentially messy experience that needs resources to maintain.
I could care less if Xbox uses a streaming stick. In fact, I don't know why people care. Too much dedication to video games and the boxes they're played on.
For AAA on Ios Instead of just resident evils, I wish capcom brought more monster hunter to ios, megaman collections, street fighter, anything but just one franchise. Ubi is causing the same issue, just assassins creed ports. Where's Farcry? Death Stranding is shooting itself in the foot locking graphics to what will perform on M1, but not giving graphical dials to those on newer chips. TL;DR: if you half ass your products, expect half assed sales.
I always wondered why Microsoft's streaming is so bad. I played rocket League on GeForce now and it was nearly a native experience and I would like to play xcloud if there was this quality.
Rockstar will probably release these games as Rockstar + Editions that can be downloaded for free, but playable only with internet checks and account connected
There are Free To Play Games where 1 user will spend easily more than $2,000... Mobile Games are meant to lure you in with fun hooks, get the player in the system, them let them spend to be the best. I don't like those stratgies but I've fallen for it twice already, I maybe spent $1.5k over the course of 2+ years per game. Its predatory as much as a Casino is, so when I make my games I want to make them fun, addictive, but not requiring huge spend to enjoy or be the best.
still blows my mind that people who play games on phones would prefer games that treat them like morons and wallets with legs rather than a game that actually treats them like a real person.
It’s not because of other games. It’s because the damn re 4 and Village crash the iPhone every fkin time EVEN with the settings turned down. Now ppl like me aren’t going to throw away money a third time with re7. The only reason i switched to iPhone was to be able to play RE games on the go and i regret it.
For the iOS games like Resident Evil, it doesn’t help that only the iPhone 15 can play this game and anything below that can’t. I have a 14 Pro Max and it’s not compatible.

I do not believe GTA VI will launch on Switch or Switch 2. However I have a feeling Rockstar will try to get GTA V at the very least to run on Switch 2.
I mean ive streamed xbox games without too much issue. TBH it really depends on your service and its consistency as well as if you have any weird nodes your connection is jumping to on it's way to the xbox servers
It’s they didn’t restrict the resident evil games etc on iPhone to only the 15 Pro’s. I have a 15 plus and was mad I can’t play them on mine. I was willing to try lol
I don’t think there will be another generation of Xbox hardware as we know it. The next Xbox console will likely be a pc based handheld with a big picture mode and option for a stream store front.
I've said this before on the topic but with a game, i like to sit at my desk in my room and play it sat in front of a giant TV and really immerse myself in whatever i'm playing (a 60 inch LG 4K TV in my case) i can't do that on a phone screen and i find it difficult to see what i'm doing on a screen that small with a game
This is why my Steam Deck is gathering dust. As someone who is still struggling put Cyberpunk down ever since a player at launch, as cool as it is playing with mods on a portable device, Cyberpunk as an example is too good of a game visually to play with such watered down graphics and visual fidelity. 30fps I couldn’t do unless absolutely necessary. The main appeal of Cyberpunk is its gratifying gameplay loop and it is something I must play at least at 60fps on PC or PS5. 90fps with my 7900xt is always a good time.
Fun fact some phones like my LG had implemented a dock feature when connected to a monitor, it would turn the UI into an android pc desktop where apps open like desktop windows, even allowed for mouse and keyboard inputs. I think that could have been very beneficial for these games if people wanted to play big games but they discontinued the feature which imo was wasted potential.
not surprising that full console games aren't popular on mobile lol. i wonder how they run, they must strain battery fast, and what if you need to take a break? Also, both resident evil and death stranding require some precision that you probably can't achieve with touch controls

Maybe Rockstar is planning on porting GTA 5 to the Switch
I doubt it, although I could see it being a launch game for Nintendo's next system
Xbox is facing the final Boss of its existence: Microsoft and it can't win the battle.
Unfortunately 😪
I left the Microsoft consoles behind because it is a online console and i hate it for this reason.
I can guarantee that Herman Hulst, Hideaki Nishino, Doug Bowser, Shuntaro Furukuwa, Phil Spencer, Matt Booty, Sarah Bond as well as all the other heads of gaming companies/studios/publishers would laugh at you as you literally don't have a clue as to what you are talking about 🤣
@@Donald_Allan , and I'm assuming you are their spokesperson, speaking for the big wigs right?
Thanks for the attention (I guess).
No john. Jesus...
The reason console games fails on cellphone is not the market and customer.
THE SHITTY TOUCHSCREEN CONTROLS!!!
It’s absolutely the market and customer. They’ve been trained to not buy anything upfront.
Ahh, that's why premium games practically made for touchscreen controls sell like absolute hotcakes...
The sources listed in the video description are from yesterday's video...
The only fans that are “upset” about not needing an Xbox seem to be PlayStation fans.
Ponies love this stuff
Blades does not work as a background lol
The sources linked are from Tuesday's News Wave, would be great if you could update them.
It would be cool if developers added in post credit scenes or clips much like Marvel or Disney/Pixar does!
11:50 Hey Spawn, the fire stick TV with game pass and a controller. Sounds like a very good weekend Spawnwave video. Give it a try, see how it does, your thoughts, and such. Worth a video (and the tax deductions 😉).
Personally I have no interest in playing proper console games on mobile. Look how badly Nintendo handhelds fought off Sony. Like everyone has a blue tooth controller to play on the go. Stupid.

About the Resident Evil 7 for low sales on iOS, they could do trials or demos to boost sales to make sure to (paramnesias) it's a demo or trial.
Get resi 7 ported to the switch's successor and im sure itll sell infinitely better than on apple devices.
I think Xbox pushing their streaming service like that before improving it, is going to have the opposite effect that they want. Leaving many feeling burned and giving them a bad experience, making them look elsewhere and staying away from the Xbox brand
I would hate trying to play RE7 on a phone.
Rockstar should at least make all the weapons online available in gta5 single player before moving on
Hey Jon, please bring up the Deadpool Xbox collab controller in tomorrow’s video. Things have officially gotten out of hand 😂
I miss old Rockstar, GTA Online really made the company greedy
It would be good for Xbox to remain in the console space, competition-wise. But if they going all-in on PC and Streaming, I can imagine that being a wise move.
poll - no, i don't play gta much.
comment of the day - okay...
Twilight Sparkles is so fine
I feel "real" gaming on phones cannot happen as long as there are no phones with build in buttons. You cannot expect your customer to buy 3rd party clampshell controllers. Very few do. And half of them only play games made before 1999. Games like Resident Evil are not meant to be played with a touch screen.
NO CONSOLE REQUIRED?? OH I'M GETTING VERY UPSET!!
I just dont think AAA games like RE7 are a good fit for phones. Anyone who wants to play a game like that will jist play it on a console.
Cloud gaming on phones needs better input options than screen buttons. I played RE7 on GamePass Cloud (because I'm a scaredy cat) using the Razor Kishi. It was only fine.
Emio is a new installment in the Famicom Detective Club series. I am so excited as a detective game fan.
Achievements external to games I've never understood beyond a weird social hierarchy. The game should stand on its own merits. Players can harness their internal dopamine for anything beyond that, like speedrunners.
evermillcreek
Speedrunners?
I have played gta online on ps3, ps4, and ps5
I always wondered why Microsoft's streaming is so bad. I played rocket League on GeForce now and it was nearly a native experience and I would like to play xcloud if there was this quality.
2:52 Yeah SONIC TEAM! Take notes for Christ sake!
Rockstar will probably release these games as Rockstar + Editions that can be downloaded for free, but playable only with internet checks and account connected
I would rather have GTA4 on Switch than V, why can’t they port that game?!!!!!! Even older game and from ps3 era- much easier to port
I have a 14 Pro Max and it’s not compatible.
playing a full game on the phone is amazing, as a concept, but practically I would not enjoy it
Key takeaways: An Interesting Update Hits Nintendo, it leaves people scratching there head as to what will happen with Nintendo partnerships and collaborations and general things that happen in relation to Nintendo. Nintendo has something interesting discovered. Nintendo might be planning something big. Nintendo could possible see success. Interesting info leak may provide interest in Nintendo projects. Nintendo plans, and Nintendo does something interesting. Did I mention the interesting thing Nintendo possibly will and is doing? Well Nintendo might and is doing interesting, it must be said.
Oh yeah Microsoft and Sony or whatever, they have problems sometimes and are involved with games once in a while or whatever....
College football 25 is the dark souls of sports games
If Nintendo implemented achievements in their games, what do you think they would call them?
Red dead redemption 1 is apart of GTA+ so maybe switch showing up has something to do with that
I do not believe GTA VI will launch on Switch or Switch 2.
Big companies need to make mobile gaming offshoots like Nintendo did instead of porting!
Dungeons of Hinterburg is really cool
Max payne 3
Manhunt 2
Gta4
?
I don’t think there will be another generation of Xbox hardware as we know it. The next Xbox console will likely be a pc based handheld with a big picture mode and option for a stream store front.
I've said this before on the topic but with a game, i like to sit at my desk in my room and play it sat in front of a giant TV and really immerse myself in whatever i'm playing (a 60 inch LG 4K TV in my case) i can't do that on a phone screen and i find it difficult to see what i'm doing on a screen that small with a game
Agreed especially for us older gamers
@@VEN0M415 that's another thing, they shouldn't be charging full price for phone ports
not surprising that full console games aren't popular on mobile lol. i wonder how they run, they must strain battery fast, and what if you need to take a break? Also, both resident evil and death stranding require some precision that you probably can't achieve with touch controls
He posted the wrong sources
They need to give us the NXE OS I miss it still my favorite OS
