Every time Simsie asks why the lights don’t match or the path doesn’t line up, I just imagine EA builders saying “iTs StrAnGeRvILLe, iT AdDs To ThE StRaNgE……” 😂
the funny thing is, that excuse would totaly work if it was only in strangerville. But stuff like that is a problem in every world sooo xD
There’s a fine line between strange and awful. They are not close enough to that line to make this argument lol
Also, the fact that SHE built it uneven (there’s 3 tiles on one side of the build, 4 on the other)… like she coulda fixed it🤦🏻♀️

Me too. I’ve been trying to do better about actually playing the game but it’s not going very well
I play with the simlicy save so I don't have that problem lol

Maybe I'm giving whoever built the original lot too much benefit of the doubt but I think the miss matched lights were there to give the effect of it being an old building with different bulbs in, and the yellow ones are old phosphorus bulbs and the white ones new hallogen ones.
This makes a lot of sense, actually.....
You never know with EA, but I always have my sims live in utter squalor so my eyes just lit up with the possibilities, haha.

If they had a flickering bulb color that’d be so cool. I think I’d only believe they purposefully did the color difference (or that they did it well at least) if they didn’t have major flaws in the builds that can’t be on purpose.

when she rotated the build to the frontside, pathway didn’t even line up at all and I’m like 😭😭😭😭❓❓❓❓

I would've just placed the path all over the lot that way you can't really tell its uneven unless you're looking at the front door in relation to the path 🙄 which is also annoying.
@@lololola991 i just looked at it again, and she didn't build it unevenly; the entire lot is uneven! if it wasn't, the paths would line up. if she fixed it earlier, it would still be uneven when she flipped it. luckily it is a rather easy fix for those who decide to download this lot
I love this pack: build and buy, cas, the world… but the lots are inexcusable. I don’t know what they were thinking.
The cas is one of my favorites for any pack so the world makes me sad
@@mauratyson9580 same and b&b especially. I just love the windows and doors. The word itself I find it beautiful, but the lots look half done and I don’t know why if there’s a reason for that or they just didn’t care

@@itsmymusicvibes i think its so Strangerville can run on low end computers. So much of the world has interractions that having a detailed lot and the world would create processing issues.
The lightbulbs for example, i agree with a different comment, it looks like hallogent white ones and the old phosphorous yellow ones and they just screwed a new one in. It's a tiny detail that is actually really thoughtful and gives *vibes* without adding processing issues

I don't think the light colors in the library were a mistake. I took them as trying to to make it look like it's not really maintained with care, with inconsistent and older bulbs in some areas.
Anyway the rebuild is amazing and fits so much better with the fake buildings around it.
Man, the Strangerville Historical Society is gonna be pissed that the town's old one-room schoolhouse was destroyed by a developer with no appreciation for history. :P

I just want to libraries to come stocked with all the skills books and everything. Sims 3 had that and I miss it so much!
They do but only if you use a very specific bookshelf which only has like three swatches on it. If you go to one of the base game libraries, you'll see them there. IDK why but EA only coded that one bookshelf to have everything automatically; if you use any other bookshelf in the libraries then you have to add books to it to get the rest.
@@DoveJS I didn't know it was that bookshelf. I thought it was just the willow creek library that had all the books. I agree, it is a bit silly to only have it for that one bookshelf.
I never actually hated Strangerville that much - at the very least I enjoyed the world. But no longer. Oh no, no. Not after seeing those crooked pathways.

It's an odd pack, but the world itself and the architectural styles have potential, and this build turned out super cute

It's a really nice pack, apart from the lots. I find myself using the world and items a lot [except for the lab stuff, but I still smile when I see those items in the catalogue]
I'd love to see you do the bar again! I actually play in Strangerville a fair amount but that bar is so sad and I don't want to renovate it every time
Why don't you save the renovated one and place it in a new save?
@@plumdutchess I do sometimes and also place different renos from the gallery but I like to have different ones for each save. Plus I just like to see Kayla's Strangeville builds, it's cool to see what she does with them since she doesn't like the pack
Strangerville is literally my favorite pack and the busted looking houses are the best part 👌🏾🤌🏾

I've been renovating the fancy Stanger Ville neighborhood with various Victorian houses and it is so much fun. The floral wallpaper from the Decor To The Max Kit really sparked my imagination to build Victorian homes. Also I never play in this world so I forgot how terrible the EA builds are 😬
Kayla really has started to thrive in her new acceptance of sim related chaos, and I love that for her
She has relaxed a lot since Dan has moved back in with her, she's such a different and more comfortable person that one or two years ago.

I have been waiting for this forever. I love the strangerville world, its beautiful. The buildings.... it needs help. And unfortunately my building skills are about level with the devs who built the og houses, so as many times as I've tried i can never make it look good 😂 cant wait to fix my save now!
I’ve never made it through a Strangerville build without having a panic attack. Props to Kayla for not having a mental breakdown over the horrendous builds.

Thank you for this LilSimsie! And thank you for the children/toddler room. I explored this pack with a teenager, so it wasn't an issue then, but my Daddy Winter-Turned-Werewolf is raising two toddlers alone and trying to figure out the secrets of Moonwood Mill, and now I believe every lot should have a toddler potty by law.
(You can put a toddler potty in your SIm's inventory and have them place it... But only when you're on a lot itself, not in then open world between lots. I don't understand why, because everything else Santa's offspring need place fine in between lots - a tent, a cooler, camping chairs, lanterns, and a turkey dinner follows us everywhere we go. But not the toddler potty, they've got to use diapers and whine about it.)
I love that you're using all packs. It made sense when you would only use the pack that the building was apart of and base game for your save file so if you d didn't have it you weren't missing items BUT as someone who just likes watching your build videos, I love watching your full creativity
While I do love the rebuild, I wish it had been more of a renovation than a rebuild as in I think the original build has the vibe of 'an old converted chapel' whereas Simsie's is more of 'an old converted train station/manor house' and with the Wedding Stories adding some church windows and stuff, I think it would've been cute to upgrade on the existing theme.
The area of Strangerville that is in, plus your desire for the town hall to have a clock tower is just giving me such strong Back To The Future vibes. At least at just a few mins in. Perhaps it will change but that's the vibes I'm getting from the beginning.

I do post-apocalyptic builds a lot so Batuu and Strangerville are among my favorite packs 😂 The corrugated iron walls from Strangerville and the rusty windows from Batuu have been LIFESAVERS for me. I'm probably the only person with those 2 packs as my favorites
I honestly love this build, it's lovely! It also made me really sad when the toilets that have made Kayla so happy were removed :(
i would looove to see you fully renovate strangerville. i just love seeing your remodels and rebuilds in general. i miss seeing simsie save progress, and itd be fun to see you revisit stuff now with the newer items and your newer skills
This build is absolutely beautiful! I usually prefer to get inspiration from videos like this and make my own version, but I just had to download and place this one. My only gripe with the build is the bathrooms - there are toddler toys in the children's room upstairs, but no potty for some reason. I also added the soap and paper towel dispensers from Get To Work, because that make sense.
I surprisingly like playing in strangerville (after it's fixed) because it's a nice 2nd option for a desert setting. It is hilarious to see all the quirks, as you pointed out with the path, which annoys me too! So I would love to see reno/rebuild of each lot. I did one mansion in the upper neighbourhood and love it, but hate the other houses too.

This new build looks great! I love the addition of the spooky attic. If I ever play in Strangerville will definitely be popping in your changes!
please do renovate more strangerville!!! it's one of my favorite worlds and packs and i love the vibes of the items but the builds absolutely need more work and i am NOT a builder. having more simsie builds to place in it that fit the world would be EXCELLENT
Don't get me wrong, your blue suburbans houses are really nice but I love seeing you challenge yourself and renovate or create other type of builds! You're very very talented!

I was so sad when you had to lose the beautiful bathroom you built first! But in the end this build turned out even better with the new layout - adding it to my game asap
it's not too out there to have a town hall and library in the same building! I live in a small town with pretty much nothing (we live in the suburbs so we just go to other towns if we need anything more niche than Walmart), and we have our town hall and library in the same building.
I relate so hard with almost crying over the stair rails clipping with the wall. Every time I have more than one story in a build, I die a little because it's so normal to have stairs against the wall like that but we can't place the rails on only one side 😭 it makes me avoid using stairs constantly

This build is insane!! the outside looks so dreamy omg
I think the roof should be the green scallop thingies because it's the most important building in town and probably have bronze roof that turned green overtime.
The lots in this world are absolute eyesores. The worst offender in my eyes is that big 40x30 lot the Roswells live on, I always evict them and bulldoze the lot to replace it with something else.
the fact that simsie mistook the back for the front of the lot is just the perfect icing on the cake
I made a comment on one of lilsimsies older videos about strangerville, and it had a bunch of build deas for genuinely strange things in strangerville. I am so sad that I can't find the comment anymore, because
I thought those ideas were cool.
But here are a few things that could genuinely add to the strange:
-a kids room or children toys for a family with no kids
-secret scientist basements
-crystal balls, hippie witchy vibes
-a mysterious room with no windows, a metal door and a food tray on the floor
You gave me a idea now! I am going to build a church on this lot! Strangervile looks great for it and on this specific lot with the suroundings!

The building before looked more like a very simple church. Love the new outside 100%! The inside is great, except I don't care for the white bookshelves. I think the wood just seems more like a library/town hall vibe.

Seeing you play makes me wanna again. I may do a rags to riches again, thats my favorite challenge to do. Also i feel your pain with the path issue. i also hate how we cant have the same tiles as the neighbourhood pavments. i wanna continue it as a path to the front door but noooo we cant have that tile that is RIGHT THERE!!!!!!also i feel you on the fear of freezing and not having saved.

The weird way all the lots are off center is why I use terrain paint the most for sidewalks and things lol Everything fits when you paint it on

Even at the beginning with the original lot, you can see there is an extra row of grid tiles off to the side that are not covered in flooring. The lot is not even. Even the original builder had to leave it slightly off in order to center that walkway that's in the world.

I've said it before but Strangerville is my favourite pack. What would be good would be a community lot for the other neighbourhood. The fishing spot there is the best in the game imo and it always seems weird that when I visit I have to "visit" a residential lot and go to the pond rather than like a park or something.

I’m currently redoing DelSol. I honestly in my years have only once actually had my sim live in it and never used any of the other lots so I decided to just redo much of it in the hopes of maybe wanting to use this area more.
Your eyes are so pretty Kayla. Your humor and personality is so refreshing in todays society. At least in comparison to what surrounds me. My non simmer friends know who you are. One of my fave content creators. You’re a great speaker. I’d listen to you talk about anything you’re interested in. Hope you’re around the internet for a long time! ♥️

Keep up the work! I really enjoy watching your build videos and they gave me motivation to build/renovate things myself and now I’m trying to recreate Gravity Falls town in Granite Falls and also renovating Strangerville. I was actually afraid of building/renovating things in the sims, since my firts house there turned out to be a week-long disaster, but after gaining some practice my whole sims gameplay revolves around building stuff. A recent build of mine is the Mystery Shack from Gravity Falls, it is a bit rough but holds a special place in my heart, however after finishing it i didn’t know what to do. I kinda lost my interest towards the gameplay itself lol. The only hope is the upcoming werewolves pack which i will definitely download as a werewolf lover. Hope it will spice up my gameplay and give me some build ideas.

I have such a strong love-hatw relationship with strangerville. It is my favorite pack and least favorite all at once. The only reason I bought strangerville was because I thought it was the world that came with aliens (but that makes too much sense for the sims team). I was so disappointed when ofc i found out that it was indeed not the case. My mistake. I do like to make houses here, but the lots are trash and we definitely shouldve gotten at least 2-3 more buildable lots in the lower section where the bar is. I do however love the country-style clothes and Victorian build items.

yea there's definitely a difference between it looking weird (ex. a chair being put backwards, a bookshelf right in front of a window, door to the tiniest empty rooms) and things just looking badly though after

Where the path to the lot was uncentered, I would put plants and landscaping to cover it up. You might also want to put debug fencing so it will go up against the lot. As for the flag, how about putting it on top of the clock tower? So far I am loving the build, it is giving me 'Back to the Future' vibes. Well, to answer your question--yes!! I really think it is worth it!! You are making the game so much better by making it more interesting instead of bland. And speaking of 'Back to the Future, how about putting in a garage where Doc Brown built his time machine--was it a garage or a shed? Anyway, it was totally overgrown, ran down, and camouflaged into the area. That would be great for Strangerville!
