This is DEFINITELY the best tutorial I've seen in a long time. The use of stop motion, the little sound bits, the music, the side comments. Your work oozes as much charm as the game itself. Very, very well done!
My god, what a great tutorial! Not only is very clear but the aesthetic of it and quickness without leaving doubts. You got a subscriber and hope you get more!
I stumbled upon this video as we finally got our copy of the game and wanted a quick "how to" before opening the box. Holy crap the was an AMAZING how-to! The stop motion melts my heart. Thank you for posting this!
@@Boardgame_tutorials We still haven't played a full game, but so far we find it fun. We never played a strategy board game before, so this is a new thing to us
Not really. There's no need to Subscribe. These tutorials are something you would search for, unless you literally have every game in the order they release videos, I don't see why anyone would "subscribe" to this channel. Great video, though. Love it!
Hi, I just have to say this is exceptional work - great explanation, well organised, nice level of humour, and then the stop-motion is excellent! And I know this must have taken an enormous amount of time and editing! Please make more videos and make sure you're tagging, linking to more of your videos at the end, etc. because I have never seen recommendations of your channel until now and you've got a great style that deserves more viewers!
Thank you that really means a lot! I definitely need to get better at the marketing side of the channel, but I am still working on more videos nonetheless. Cascadia is up next
Hi! Thanks for a this video. I’m wondering if I do NOT place a dragon in a shop, can I continue with the third step for Gathering; to fire up one of the dragons, or does my round end with me not placing the dragon? 😅
This is a very good video. We were playing this and found one shop card was asking for 8 goods of one type in order to exchange reputation. But wasn’t it each good we could only have 7 max ?
Since you don’t have to discard down to 7 of each good type until the end of your turn, you could collect the 8th good on that turn then use it for the shop ability. You could also use coins to get to 8 goods. FYI there is an awesome shop clarification section on page 15 of the rule book. I think they knew that shop would be confusing lol
It gets much much easier after you play a round or two. I still feel overwhelmed learning new games and I have played Twilight Imperium several times (a much deeper 4-8 hour game) but I keep coming back for more
In general, the tutorial was good! The production quality is clearly very high. One complaint though: the suggestion for breaking ties with holding hands over a naked flame was completely unnecessary, adds nothing to the video is and potentially dangerous. And while typically I wouldn't be all "won't anyone think of the children?!", Flamecraft is a boardgame with a cutsie aesthetic that appeals to kids. I watched this tutorial with my kids (age 7, we play a lot of boardgames, boardgamegeek suggests 10+ is too high) and had to clarify to them that this was not a good idea and to never do that.
Thank you for existing, because I’m one of those people that need to be shown/taught in order to understand something. Staring at text just jumbles my brain. Subscribed!
What a great guide. We had it on the entire time we were playing our first game. Also, my daughter is now obsessed with your "Gimme that meat!" at 2:15 and we kept quoting it all game. Happy to subscribe.
Hi again, there are two more rules we are looking for clarification. Hope you don't mind explaining please. :) Fancy Dragons 1) Gain 1 heart for every Diamond (symbol) + Dragon (symbol) in town, +3 heart if most. Does this mean every Diamond Artisan Dragon card? 2) After Enchantment (symbol), gain 1 heart per unique enchantment (symbol) type in town. What does the "unique" refer to? 3) If we have 4 players, does the 4th player get a good of their choice at the beginning? Thank you.
1) assuming you are referring to Gemma, it refers to the number of diamond artisan dragons in town. 2) this just means a heart per different goods symbol. I.e. there are 2 diamond enchantments, 1 meat and 2 bread at enchanted shops, you would gain 3 hearts. 3) yes, the 4th player gets a good of their choice
I wish every game got a tutorial this good, I will literally watch anything you make even if I don’t plan to play. I love how you edit these, just great work all around ❤
This reviewer deserves many more viewers! Wow what a production for this video. I'm not a fan of Euro/Worker Placement games, but this looks cute enough to give a chance.
Absolutely love the game and this video helped a lot! There was a card that maybe you can clarify? One of the fancy dragons gives you +1 reputation for every unique good you spend? Are unique good different than the basic ones? TIA😁
Awesome I’m glad it helped! Unique goods just means different types of goods. So, since there are 6 types of goods, the maximum hearts you could gain from that card is 6.
I like unstable unicorns but we tend to have to implement a house rule limiting the neigh cards or else the game will go on all day lol or maybe we’re playing it wrong… casting shadows looks interesting too

The stop motion animation is really well done. This is a thorough but succinct explanation of set up and game play.

Hi! Thanks for a this video.
I’m wondering if I do NOT place a dragon in a shop, can I continue with the third step for Gathering; to fire up one of the dragons, or does my round end with me not placing the dragon? 😅
Placing a dragon is optional, so you can still do the other steps when gathering.

For the steak dragon. If you place a dragon in town. Do you take it from your hand or the deck?
You play one from your hand. It’s a way to play an extra dragon anywhere you want and you get the bonus too

So whenever it says to draw an artisan dragon it has to be from the park?
Yes, or the top card from the deck
@@Boardgame_tutorials Based on what's convenient to me no? Maybe the dragons in the park don't have the element i need
@@Boardgame_tutorials Also during the set up can i see which fancy dragon i'm discarding or does the card need to be turned until the game starts?
@viv4244 yeah if the one you need isn’t there then I usually draw the top card from the deck hoping that one is.
You look at both then choose one fancy dragon and discard the other but keep the one you kept secret
