Great video ... thank you! BTW ... We are having a problem however. The materials link provided for the reflective vinyl no longer works. We have looked for and found 3M reflective vinyl on Amazon but since this is our first project have not idea how to determine if this will work. Can you help please?
Hey Tommy! I've not used it before, but 3M is usually a great project and it states that it works with die cutting machines. I would personally test a small cut to make sure I had my blade depth set correctly before I tried to cut out a large set of letters, but I'm sure you'll be able to find the right setting. What type of machine are you using? Thanks so much for watching and I'd love to hear how the project goes! 💕😊
Some vinyls they recommend you print up and some face down.... does this make a difference to which ones you use transfer tape on? I've done tons of iron-on but going to try a mailbox and one vinyl recommends up and one down so it's got me stumped. Thanks.
Hey Barbara! It may be the wording. Some call iron on, HTV, or heat transfer vinyl. It always goes down. Regular vinyl that you use with transfer tape (and no heat) always goes up. I've never ran across a regular vinyl that goes down. That said, it could be something new. Think of it this way, the heat goes down, and you mirror image it so that it's on the plastic tacky transfer sheet when you lay it on your tshirt/tote, etc. Vinyl is cut face up and you have to put a tacky transfer sheet on it to move it. Both need a sheet. It's just one already has it and the other you have to add. Does that make sense? I hope I'm not confusing you more. Thanks so much for watching and I hope your project turns out amazing! 💕😊
@@KimByers finally, someone said it in a way that made it click for me Thank you SO much. Can't wait to watch more of your very easy to understand videos.
Hey Caroline! Yes, you can use regular vinyl on the mailbox. It should stick fine through the holidays. Permanent vinyl isn't really permanent, but it will stay on for a few years. Happy crafting!💕
My daughter got a Cricut for Christmas and I am going to have her make a mailbox decal for me. l was reading that Oracal 651 vinyl lasts about 6 years and regular permanent vinyl only last 3 years. Are you familiar with Oracal 651 vinyl?
Yes! Transfer tape allows you to pick up the entire design and move it to the mailbox all at once so you don't have to line up each item. It is very, very difficult to place vinyl without transfer tape. Thanks so much for watching and happy crafting! 💕
Great idea, just what I was looking for.
So glad the tutorial was helpful Maria! Happy crafting! 💕
Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video!
Thanks Vivian! Happy crafting!! 💕😊
Looks great. Do you recommend using any sealer? If so, what kind?
So glad you like it! And no, I didn’t use any type of sealer just permanent vinyl. Thanks so much for watching and happy crafting! 💕😊

@Barbara Snelgrove so glad that helped!
I’m trying to find the box one in Cricut design space but it is not popping up. Do you know how I can find that?
Hey Amber! I'm not sure what you mean by "box one" in CDS. Sorry! I hope you find it and happy crafting!
Do you need to seal the vinyl with anything like polycrylic or clear coat?
Hey Megan! No, not if you use Outdoor Permanent Vinyl. Mine has been on for years and still looks great! 😊 Thanks for watching and happy crafting! 💕
Where can I purchase outdoor vinyl? Your link is not active.
Hey Sheila! Thank you for letting me know. I'll correct it right now. Here's the link: cricut.pxf.io/a1ynxN Thanks for watching and happy crafting!
I’d like to do some Christmas ornament decals. Will removable vinyl stay on for a few weeks and come off the mailbox easily later?

Hi Paula! I'm not familiar with Oracal, but the Cricut vinyl does last about 3. Congrats on the new machine!!
