I'm replacing the nut with a Bone nut, a blank to get better tone an help the sustain. Still looking to replace the brass bridge with a chrome one. the brass is too soft and the string guides are dug out causing a funny angle bend to the bridge.
I am considering buying one as well, came across your video. The specs on their website are conflicting. If you by chance happen to measure the nut width and neck thickness at the 1st fret, please post those measurements, if possible. That would be greatly appreciated! Be well!
While I can respect your opinion, I own the same guitar and do not completely agree. I have had issues such that I returned the first one duo to a twisted neck. The second one has as the first the cheapest nut possible. I had to shim the neck as the setup did not allow for restringing the guitar, without removing the bridge. It sits far too low in the recess to effect change. The bridge was a mess and required replacement of the 1st string saddle. This was due to alignment issues between the string slot and the string hole in the bridge. This caused an angled path and choking and string breakage with nearly every bend. I'm presently fabricating a replacement nut as there is no stock replacement, looks like Gibson, spacing like Fender. I'm also intent on replacing the bridge if I can find suitable,so far no luck.
just got mine, the same exact model. I'm surprised yours didn't come with the brass toggle. Mine came in the same little bag as the tools. Mine is going to need some work with the fret edges and the nut burrs from the lack of QC. I haven't tested for any fret buzz yet. I can't say I'm a fan of the neck shape since I'm used to slim taper necks and I've noticed that it's harder to bend the strings compared to my other guitars and I think that has to do with the design of the recessed bridge combined with the headstock tilt. I'm unsure if I'm going to keep it or try to send it back. It needs a lot of work.
I got the same one and with just a little tweaking, very little, I'm very impressed. I love that little lick you first played. had to play it. JB

These guitar is worth at least twice that much! I have a Slick SL50 Tele style guitar and am soooo impressed with it!

Yep same issues and then some. QC, is not their strong point.
@@gtranimal yeah I had to end up buying a replacement neck from another source because they wouldn’t accept my return.
Sweet.

Is SL55 heavy? Some say Slick guitar are heavy. Thanks.
