You're the Man Stephen Thompson. I really hope you're able to make one more solid run at, and secure that 170lb belt. I would love to see you become a world champion, but if not, you will still have procured yourself an MMA legacy of entertaining fights, impressive skills and unparalleled class!
He needs to improve his wrestling defense. Find every single way of getting out of positions that wrestlers get him in to. He also needs to increase his strength to help with his takedown defense by lifting heavyweights.
I like that you left in whipping yourself with the rope, I was like, "Of course Wonderboy doesn't mess up with a jump rope, he's super human," then you did. Awesome video GREAT ENERGY speaking while drilling!
My Muay Thai coach used to make me do the "terrible 10s" but with round houses, up to 10 and back down again, he used to call it the "pyramid". Honestly when I first started they were killers but after a while you could really do them with much ease and focus more on technique.
I'm a 6 foot white man and I train to fight tiny little Latino street gang members so I do drills where I'm throwing punches really low, not high like he is.

After you win this fight I'd love to see you call-out (respectfully lol) the winner of Brian Barberena vs RDA. Looking forward to that fight as well since it's another OG vs talented young'n match-up
hey yo @Stephan Wonder T bro great video by the way you one my favorite fighters why just because of your fighter style also you do great content as well I will get this try
Great drills. Thanks. I also work out with my mouthpiece in. Though I know you are a pro, I also wear my head guard for drills. It's another small but effective maximizer and for me as an amateur it is also a good regular competitive fight simulation and preparation. Keep it up!
Great detailed explenations with the making it clear to fully extend etc. Appreciate that, alot of people dont include those details and you're left wondering if youre performing the exercise correctly, so, nice ^^
That's the way I do punchouts at the gym full extension and clean technique while everyone else is so lazy they shorten the range of motion (even the ones who are more skilled than I am)
yesterday I had a sparring, my jab was on point but the stamina was lacking even tho i'm training on it since months, i'm gonna test these for sure thanks mate
The speed of your kicks to win last weekend,my god...I've watched ufc since its inception, that was a fight I've always wanted to see, karate styles vs kung-fu...and didn't you deliver, amazing fight that if built upon could change ufc, fantastic win Stephen Thumpsome 👏 👍 😀 🙌
Interesting. Respect to you for what you do and what you are showing people. I am part of this world called martial arts for so long and I always have something to learn. My life goal is to establish my own art. At home I don't have a punching bag, so when I want to focus on power I use a pillow instead after doing conditioning on concrete. Not in my fault I am a slower person. So if I would fight in the ring I would focus on power more than on speed. My fastest is a medium speed of a person with a normal speed. Anyway I just decided to join your channel Wonderboy because I like you a lot.
My instructor once said “control your breathing and you’ll be able to keep punching for longer” I thought it was rubbish, but once I tried it freaked me out that just by controlling my breathing I was able to keep punching and punching all day long
Stephen big fan brother, I hope you win by KO or surprising everyone with a sub . Good luck god bless. I’ve been doing this TABATA technique for years and it is a game changer.
In Eastern Europe (boxing) we would do these drills a ton. Absolute killers. Intervals might vary. At some point, people would start grunting and screaming ‘let s go’, ‘more, faster, harder’… ‘moooooove’. Good times. We do it in muay thai also.
I want to be apart of this environment so bad. You should make a video of what to do when starting green. It's hard to keep showing up not having friends at the gym.
my favourite punching drill for technique and endurance goes thusly; jab, jab cross, jab cross jab, jab cross jab cross, cross jab cross jab, cross jab cross, cross jab, cross... as many times as possible over 3 minute round hits all the fundamental technical combinations that your feet encounter when throwing and moving, as long as you are advanced enough to realize that jab technique is almost identical to hooking
I gotta get me a double mouthpiece like what I used when I was training, mine is fallen apart now and I really like the feeling of the double part even though everybody knows it's not much better for hits or anything, just breathing
I feel like people don’t appreciate how impressive it is you can do all this stuff WHILE TALKING and you’re still not out of breath
I taught karate for 10 years and juijitsu for a 5. I used to get so out of breath showing juijitsu. Sweating and out of breath. Lol
