Dennis Villeneuve is becoming one of the best directors of this century (I know he has been doing movies for 20 years but he jumped into the mainstream landscape after the 2000s).
Final Cut. It's the Ridley Scott version of choice, and this sequel and the trailers make it obvious to me that in fact, Deckard is a Replicant, so the Final Cut is the one that makes this very clear (Because that's what Scott wanted)
Which everybody thought was absolutely stupid. Even the author (Do androids dream of electric sheep) There was a point where Scott had it in his mind that Deckard was a replicant, and nobody could convince him otherwise.
Frosty from Collider said that even the synopsis it's a spoiler so I was hesitant to watch or read any review but Andy and Roth give zero spoilers. Thanks :)
Proud to be from Quebec ;) btw, I learned a few weeks ago that one of Villeneuve's sons and I were at the same college for 2 whole years and I never knew about it lol
I couldn't wait to hear your guys review and I was not disappointed. I want to see this movie so bad now! And do you think this movie can be a serious Oscar Contender? I want Roger Deakins to win a Oscar! Hopefully based on your praise for his work in the film, he has a real shot this year.
My Oscar predictions: Best Sound Design: Nominated Best Score: Nominated Best Director: Nominated Best Cinematography: Winner by a landslide Best Film: Nominated/possible winner
I feel very lukewarm about this movie. As others have said, it is very visually intriguing. Others have also pointed out that the movie lacks emotion, and that many of the scenes go on for too long. I would like to expand upon this point by saying that the movie suffers from a few mistakes that suck the emotional punch out of large sections of the movie. Consider the long, drawn out orphanage scene wherein K discovers the wooden horse. The audience already knows what is going to happen because we have seen the flashback scene where K hides the the horse, and we have heard Joi raise the idea that the date on the wooden horse is the same one as the one on the tree. Yet, the purpose of the entire sequence is to build up that moment. Our prior understanding of what K is going to discover about his past reduces our ability to empathize with him. If we had discovered the nature of the horse along with K, we would have felt what he felt in that same moment. This problem with predictability permeates the entire film. We are never left wondering what anyone's intentions or feelings are, and we never wonder what will happen next. Most films are basically predictable, but I felt like I was predicting both the major events of the film as well as the scene-by-scene cadence. This was not just a passive problem either. The film often seemed to force exposition upon the audience. I recall the scene where Niander fully explains his intentions and desires to Luv as he fondles a newly born replicant. I also feel that the creators of this film did not do an adequate job of using and exploring the setting to explore the characters and bring the world to life. Sure, we get the big shots of city hellscapes, but I felt like like the movie did not get into what life was like in the urban jungle.
If you aren't impressed with the original Blade Runner, that's because you've seen all the scifi movies that followed and were influenced by Blade Runner. At the time that Blade Runner was released there had never been anything like it. It is a great movie that has held up well over all these years. But, I'm looking forward to seeing the sequel. Hopefully it will come close. But, if it manages to surpass the original, I won't be disappointed.
Definitely the case for me. I just recently watched the Final Cut of Blade Runner for the first time. The dialogue could have been so much better imo. But the theme is very interesting though.
😧☺ I'm relieved. Great to hear that a tentpole movie could meld skillfully with artistic elements and brilliant storytelling. Can't wait watching it on IMAX!
My Oscar predictions: Best Sound Design: Nominated Best Score: Nominated Best Director: Nominated Best Cinematography: Winner by a landslide Best Film: Nominated/possible winner
It will be nominated for CGI as well, without doubt, but that trophy is going to "War for the planet of the apes" for sure. But yeah, best cinematography is Deakins this time, there is no one that can beat him this year, not even close. He is in an entirely different league.
I don't know if you'll see this, but I'll try. Since I vaguely remember Blade Runner, should I rewatch it before this one? Or is this _even better_ as a new(ish) experience?
I didn't see Blade Runner 2049 until almost a month after it came out, but I completely avoided reviews and spoilers, and I'm glad I did. It was a great movie, one of the best of the year. I think it did a great job of exploring the themes of the first movie in even greater depth and with a more complex story and interesting characters. Just went back and watched this video, and it's a really good review, although it is a little uncomfortable now to go back and watch the old videos with Andy in them. I know it's probably way too late now, but I'd love to see the spoiler review of this to get Roth and Dan's full thoughts on the movie. At least we'll get to hear more of their thoughts when they discuss their best movies of 2017 at the end of the year.
Idk know if I already said this, but I can't wait to see this movie this weekend. I saw the original and the re-released version in theaters and when I heard they were doing a sequel, I was equally excited and worried because the wrong director could really screw this up. Your review really helps to assuage this fear and now I'm just looking forward to the IMAX Blade Runner experience! ❤️❤️❤️
efrafrawarren Plus it is R-rated and 2 hrs 45min long.. that does not happen and it has never happened! Everyone should embrace this so we can get smart, well made, big budget, adult films from now on.
sean bowman Yes, it did and I am incredibly sad.. it made 31 million in the U.S which isn't a terrible opening in general but when the movie has a budget of 150-185 million dollars. then it is a big problem and I'm thinking next weekend will have a massive dip and just go down hill from there. So disappointed and sad because I really liked the film and I'm not even a huge fan of the orginal but I enjoyed this a ton more.
no worries...it will more than make up the difference in the next few weeks, months and years.never understood why a movie with such high production values was expected to make nearly a billion on opening week or it was considered a failure....it already has its fan base and more will follow as they see this...the original Blade Runner became a cult classic after its theatrical run and there is no question as to how influential the film was on most if not all sci-fi films that followed it in some way. the same will be the case with this one... it might have been that the movie required the audience to actually THINK during the the viewing instead of having a barrage of constant jump cuts and mindless explosions
Scott Mantooth Well just having a fan base will not make a 185 million epic, money no matter how much it's beloved. For a movie to break even it needs to make double it's production budget for most cases because of marketing, prints and distribution. So this movie needs 370 million just to break even! I have a feeling it won't get there. It is just too long, too smart and it is R-Rated which restricts a large part of the population to be able to see it. Even Alien covenant made 36 million in it's opening weekend and that movie was a dumb monster movie which appeals to the masses. It also had a 97 million dollar budget which is half the budget of Blade Runner and they considered that a flop.
I'm with Andy, I am not a big fan of the first one (any version). But I do think 2049 looks like I could enjoy it, so hopefully that is so. Actually, I like the video game Deus Ex, which was heavily inspired by Blade Runner much more than the movie.
I said (and so did Andy) say I am not a big fan. I did not say I did not like it. I just did not love it. You might want to learn to read, comprehend you racist dork?
the list of movies, anime, games or books inspired or influenced by Blade Runner is very, very long...hard to imagine Sci-fi without this film ever being made...not the only influence on film obviously but a considerable and remarkably creative one
Denis Villeneuve is a french canadian from Quebec and as a quebecer, I could not be more proud ^^ (And I'm having a blast listenning every english speaker trying to pronounce his name XD. )
Blade runner is my favourite film despite itself. It is slow, it can be boring, the story is is not that great, the acting is not anything special. BUT!!! It's all about the feeling it evokes with the visuals and music. It's absolutely beautiful on an artistic level that transcends any standard movie critique. Vanguelis, TDK, tears in rain, coca cola, attack ships on fire off the shoulder of orion. Masterpiece.
the original "bombed" at the box office as well, I never expected this movie to be a block buster. still a better made movie than ghost in the shell movie. just saying
I think this movie is gonna be the Mad Max: Fury Road of this year in the sense that it's gonna get a shit ton of Oscar nominations including Best Picture. But I really think this is the film that's FINALLY gonna get Roger Deakins that Best Cinematography statue that he has deserved for so long. I could totally see this movie getting at least 10 nominations (13 if it gets any acting nominations, but that's a little less likely) at the Academy Awards. This film will be considered a masterpiece 50 years from now.
So, Harrison Ford got to return as Han Solo and Rick Deckard in great films I hope Indiana Jones 5 will also be great and allow Indy to go out with a bang
Summon256 The Force Awakens was great, get over it and Harrison Ford gave a great performance as Han Solo And i know about Indy 4 and that it sucked ass. Thats why i said that i hope Indy 5 can give the character a proper return Dont try to act oversmart, dude
Lachy Roberts its coz of wb this was possible,by that logic we should not give disney any credits at all,it was wb that brought those directors in,it was wb that took risks
Erhembayr Thepain I'm glad someone finally said it. I mean I didn't think it was bad, it was a competent movie and easily the best DCEU movie, but everyone talks about it like it's the second coming of Christ when it's an okay movie at best.
The original has such deep characters. Even down to the names of the replicants. There is so much more to that movie thematically than some people realize. It's so well done and nuanced. This new one is right there with it. It's possible it's even more well done. It's cinematically brilliant. Even the Pinocchio stuff I really like. Without spoiling, I think I can say this... there is a "Monstro the Whale" type scene somewhere in this movie that I really appreciate.
Little homages to other sci fi movies are sprinked throughout the atmosphere. The bow of the Sulaco from Aliens looms in one background, the hovering garbage ships from Soldier, and the satellite dish farm from Terminator Salvation being some notable examples. It's a good thing they left the movie long, it would have lost far too much if they had shortened and thus rushed it. It paid off, this is a legendary movie, with more than enough room for a sequel.
The original was a movie I loved. When we say bigger, I hope we don't mean that we're turning away from the more intimate noir flavor that the original film had. My initial impression is that it looks like they captured the feeling of the original, at least based on what little I've seen of the previews, so I'm cautiously optimistic.
WM G Well I think mother is one of the best films ever made! I can't stop thinking about it. It means so much from such a simple story. It's a big risk and I think it paid off. Other than the obvious mother earth, and biblical themes you can find so many different themes layered in this movie and I think it's just fantastic!
After arrival being my favourite movie last year, now this: Dennis Villeneuve might be my new favourite active director. And Ana de Armas is the most beautiful human face in cinema right now.
I can't wait to see this next week! Ordered Blade Runner on blu-ray as well, so I can re-watch it. I'm more like Andy on the original, but it has been a good while since I last saw it, so maybe my view on it has changed. Either way, just from the trailer this movie looks incredible, Denis Villenueve and whoever he brings on board makes amazing movies. Also based on the trailer, the cinematography looks amazing, give that man an Oscar xD
The original is a masterpiece, everything about it, those who don't like it have not seen it at the cinemas like I just did and the sound omg wow. It's deckard feeling guilty and contemplating thruout the film with moody set pieces and the story flows like butter, if you realise that deckard is questioning if he is a replicant as he hunts them, him looking at his own photos and the dream and the piano scene and wanting to feel love, he is contemplating and this movie is an expression of his continplation. When you see it that way it makes sense. He is questioning from the very start. It was obvious when I just rewatched the original now. It's like one long foreshadowing mood piece leading to the inception type ending with the unicorn origami.
The themes of Blade Runner 2049 . . 1) Reality has no right to attack God, for God being identical to reality 2) Movement and image are different forces of nature 3) A discovery can create the censorship that leads to its existence 4) Symmetry is something that is moved through 5) A history can be supported by the parts that make up the history 6) The source of reality can feel guilty for not imitating reality 7) Revolution exists outside of reality 8) Any experience is a machine 9) It isn't possible to experience bias
While I have to admit I liked the first movie, I still think the book is much more deeper and better. It was one of the first books I read after I seen the movie and it blew my mind.
I'll definitely give this Film a shot especially since I liked the Director's previous work but regarding the First Blade Runner it is not a simple Film Mr. Signore it's just that you were right the first time when you saw it and that is you just simply did not understand it. It is quite nuanced and has many layers with always something new to either be discovered or to fuel the many fan theories out there
I think people forget bladerunner is set in 2019 w years from now. Where's my flying car, where's my human looking and acting sex doll I can call Priss and do whatever I want to? Bladerunner was far, far ahead of its time, going way, way beyond the source material. That being said, when it was re-released in theaters 15 years ago I saw it at a midnight release and fell asleep 20 minutes in and was woken up at the credits. Bladerunner, streets of fire, and highlander shaped my teen years 😂
Does anyone realize that in the original, Tyrell had 20/20 vision, and his 'Mr. Magoo' was a replicant? You need to see Ron Cobb's original sketches to find this out.
Okay, for me BR2049 comes down to this: In the first one I didn’t just like ALL the antagonists (Nexus 6) I loved them. Hell, WE all did. That’s the problem w/2049. I have no empathy or interest or love or anything for the antagonists.
I saw a lot of people in comments from trailers and shorts complaining that the movie will end up bad and corny but I’m sitting there thinking, Denis Villeneuve can’t possibly make a terrible movie
Damnit, I fell asleep both times I tried to watch the original as a young man. Now this review has me feeling like I need to give it a better effort (20 years later) as their love of the visuals of the movie alone have me pumped to see it. That and seeing a snippit of some promo with Dave Bautista in little round glasses was too dope to deny.
I have a feeling I'm going to love 2049 because a lot of people I respect say it's amazing. BUT, I have to say Arrival was one of the most pretentious sleepingpills I've ever seen. Didn't even finish it.
Well, the pacing for this film is identical to the 1982 Blade Runner..... slow!!! But if you appreciate amazing cinematography and enjoy long philosophical pondering, then you'll be fine.
Dennis Villeneuve is becoming one of the best directors of this century (I know he has been doing movies for 20 years but he jumped into the mainstream landscape after the 2000s).
You have to watch Incendies, not well known, but his best (personally).
arrival was sooo overated and kinda boring, sorry but its true
He's directing a future Dune movie too.
Him and Paul Thomas Anderson are holding the torch right now
Yes, both he and Nolan
Which version of Bladerunner is this a sequel to?
The 2049 version
GalacticGod possible that it fits with all five, the differences being minor enough that there are no contradictions
The final cut.
Frosty from Collider said that even the synopsis it's a spoiler so I was hesitant to watch or read any review but Andy and Roth give zero spoilers.
Thanks :)
Your God Wilfred thank you for the heads up I was curious about this
dont watch jeremy jahns review when he uploads it, he usually spoils little plotpoints. youre safe with chris stuckmann
I think Dennis Villeneuve is one of the best directors right now. Everything he's done is amazing.
Well, it's the opposite for me. I watched Sicario and Arrival. I like Arrival better maybe bcs I just love sci fi.
My favourite directors this decade are probably:
1. Villeneuve
2. Fincher
3. Wright
4. Nolan
5. Innaritu
Well he is doing Dune next so.... holy shit!
Never clicked on a video this fast before!
I will start follow all the stuff Roth Cornet do from now on. The review is so on point. She did a gorgeous job!
Denis Villeneuve should direct every film for now on.
Rodney McKay i think he's should get to rest after DUNE,, im afraid if he took any job, he's gonna ruin his track carrier.
Well Denis's style is not for every one. I saw Sicario a little and i din't like the slow tone, but i'm still proud that a lot people like his style.
he should direct an alien movie
Rodney McKay Wish he was doing Star Wars Ep. 9
I watched it, and even if it seemed slow at some moments, I did not want this movie to end. It was simply beautiful in every way.
Simon James of cource this movie is very much oscar worthy

My Oscar predictions:
Best Sound Design: Nominated

Best Cinematography: Winner by a landslide
Best Film: Nominated/possible winner

I would like to expand upon this point by saying that the movie suffers from a few mistakes that suck the emotional punch out of large sections of the movie.
Consider the long, drawn out orphanage scene wherein K discovers the wooden horse. The audience already knows what is going to happen because we have seen the flashback scene where K hides the the horse, and we have heard Joi raise the idea that the date on the wooden horse is the same one as the one on the tree. I feel like this is Roger's year, no way he loses this one
Anyone else notice that the music just cut out at 1:11 or was it just me

Definitely the case for me. I just recently watched the Final Cut of Blade Runner for the first time. The dialogue could have been so much better imo. But the theme is very interesting though.
That's what I thought when I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey. :)
I bet Andy loves the scene in the original Bladerunner where Deckard has Rachel in his apartment.
Man, DUNE is going to be fucking epic, then.
Oh shit. So true!
Kamil Olszewski bwaa haa
Villeneuve is in talks for doing Dune.
El John
Dennis Villeneuve is directing it.
Stefano Piroddi
He isn't just in talks, he has officially been confirmed
Which version of the original Blade Runner do you recommend watching prior to Blade Runner 2049?
😧☺ I'm relieved. Great to hear that a tentpole movie could meld skillfully with artistic elements and brilliant storytelling. Can't wait watching it on IMAX!
will this also be available in 3D? if so, wow!
Anyone else watching this review after.....you know?
Was really following this was gonna be a Total Recall or Robocop deal. So glad this turned out well!

The original Blade Runner is one of my all time favorite films. Man I so can't wait to see this! Thank you for not spoiling anything.
Do you think there is a chance for the first Sci-Fi movie winning best picture?
Kai Graw I've been anticipating this movie to be great from the get go.
Arrival should have done that already.
Let's hope
fingers and toes crossed on that one
Kai Graw It better because this is the best film of the year! It will at least be nominated!
I don't know if you'll see this, but I'll try.
Since I vaguely remember Blade Runner, should I rewatch it before this one? Or is this _even better_ as a new(ish) experience?
I have never watched the original and looking online their are at least 5 different cuts. Witch one should I watch?
I didn't see Blade Runner 2049 until almost a month after it came out, but I completely avoided reviews and spoilers, and I'm glad I did. It was a great movie, one of the best of the year. My top two directors right now: Christopher Nolan and Denis Villeneuve
Lion Dano add Matt Reeves
Lion Dano agreed
Lion Dano i think matt reaves is pretty good
Alex Garland is another promising one.
The Source "Interstellar" was flawless?😒
Idk know if I already said this, but I can't wait to see this movie this weekend. When will your spoiler review of Blade Runner 2049 be posted?
If only Villeneuve had directed the new Ghost int the Shell..
He would have done a good job
Hear, hear!
This is one of the best films of the year period. And one of the best SciFi films ever. I cannot wait to go and see this film again.
is the spoiler review up yet? thought i saw it a few days ago but can't find it
Holy crap this movie has a 185 million dollar budget.
efrafrawarren Plus it is R-rated and 2 hrs 45min long.. that does not happen and it has never happened! Everyone should embrace this so we can get smart, well made, big budget, adult films from now on.

Curt Randall Blasphemy
Curt Randall How can you not like blade runner? Are you black?
I said (and so did Andy) say I am not a big fan. I did not say I did not like it. I just did not love it. You might want to learn to read, comprehend you racist dork?

I like how the music gets loud and gritty during scenes in the city
What a duo, she starts with an idea and he interrupts and finishes it for her.
Denis Villeneuve is a french canadian from Quebec and as a quebecer, I could not be more proud ^^ (And I'm having a blast listenning every english speaker trying to pronounce his name XD. )

Sicario and Prisoners were incredible and mind numbing intense. This director is almost as good as Christopher Nolan.
Damn first ww,dunkirk,it and now this,wb is on fire
lego batman also! shame not ninjago
Lachy Roberts its coz of wb this was possible,by that logic we should not give disney any credits at all,it was wb that brought those directors in,it was wb that took risks
prj 789 Denis got a ton of freedom from WB afaik.
Pre Retcon Beyonder wonder woman is not even good

Got my IMAX 2D tickets for Saturday! Work is going to go by so slow this week. Can't wait!
i wonder if they will continue a 3rd sequel for Blade Runner? The villain Wallace played by Jared Leto didn't die so they have to continue a 3rd 1
Thanks for not giving out any spoilers. Really hyped for this movie!
Can I understand/enjoy this if I haven't watched the first? I really wanna watch the first though when I find the movie.

ALL HAIL DENIS VILLENEUVE!!! I. cannot. freaking. wait. to see this movie
Harrison Fords best performance in a LONG time! Best movie of the year HANDS DOWN!
Little homages to other sci fi movies are sprinked throughout the atmosphere. The bow of the Sulaco from Aliens looms in one background,
the hovering garbage ships from Soldier, and the satellite dish farm from Terminator Salvation being some notable examples.
My initial impression is that it looks like they captured the feeling of the original, at least based on what little I've seen of the previews, so I'm cautiously optimistic.
what did you think of sylfia hoeks?
Mother and now this! What a treat!
kbg12ila mother was 👎
WM G Well I think mother is one of the best films ever made! I can't stop thinking about it. It means so much from such a simple story. It's a big risk and I think it paid off. Other than the obvious mother earth, and biblical themes you can find so many different themes layered in this movie and I think it's just fantastic!
kbg12ila apparently mother is trash
Both movies have somewhat misleading trailers, i hope audiences will react better to Blade Runner than mother!
kbg12ila I know right? We're entering this time of the year when the award movies start to come out, and this year is looking to be remarkable.
Watched this review at 1:30am ....... no regrets!
Saw it last night, and I agree, you absolutely should see this film. Spectacular!
After arrival being my favourite movie last year, now this: Dennis Villeneuve might be my new favourite active director. And Ana de Armas is the most beautiful human face in cinema right now.
If anyone is into spoilers you can direct them here, I don't mind spoilers for most of anything. They usually get me waaay more hyped for things.
Andy and Roth deserve an high five for pronouncing Villeneuve correctly.
I never was so hyped before. I waited more than 30 years and now there's only a few days left.
Anyone else notice black-suit spiderman chillen in the background
+Blade Runner is the best sci-fi in cinema
Lol, I was just about to go to sleep and then they upload another video xD
Matt Pask Same here!
What the hell is that sound around 7:20 ?
The Batman No, don’t know what that is
I can't wait to see this next week!
I really wanted to like this movie, but I didn’t get it. Can someone help me understand what I didn’t get in the experience?
The themes of Blade Runner 2049 . .
1) Reality has no right to attack God, for God being identical to reality
2) Movement and image are different forces of nature
3) A discovery can create the censorship that leads to its existence
4) Symmetry is something that is moved through
5) A history can be supported by the parts that make up the history
6) The source of reality can feel guilty for not imitating reality
7) Revolution exists outside of reality
8) Any experience is a machine
9) It isn't possible to experience bias
crap, now i have to wait until next weekend to see the movie
Does the movie flow? Is there lot of downtime?
Couldn't wait for the video!! Awesome review! So excited for the film. Oh and Spidey's back! Awesome! Haha
While I have to admit I liked the first movie, I still think the book is much more deeper and better. It was one of the first books I read after I seen the movie and it blew my mind.
I'm so happy 2049 is being so well regarded, can't wait to see it
is this the first official review on RUclips?
Art vandaley alongside IGN, I guess
Art vandaley ign was first
there are a few others but they might have dropped at the same time if not within a few hours of each other
IGN was first, but there contains some spoilers.
Any movie that has a Sulaco prototype hovering in the clouds is awesome by me .....even JOI was in awe looking up at it !
Do I need to see the first movie before going to 2049?
CivilizedWorm Absolutely, yes!
Does it have violence? Is it a hard R?
I'll definitely give this Film a shot especially since I liked the Director's previous work but regarding the First Blade Runner it is not a simple Film Mr. Signore it's just that you were right the first time when you saw it and that is you just simply did not understand it. It is quite nuanced and has many layers with always something new to either be discovered or to fuel the many fan theories out there
I am so relieved that this film is actually good! So excited to see it.
First Dunkirk , then it and now blade runner 2049.
Warner Bros is killing this year.
Specsome Ideas Not to mention this was also distributed by SONY which was shocking because it's SO DAMN GOOD!
Mega MovieZ well sony also gave us two good movies this year : baby driver and Spiderman homecoming.
They kinda spoil whether Deckard is a replicant in the latest trailer of 2049. He tells Gosling "We were being hunted!"
Those that have seen the final cut of Blade Runner already know he is one. There is just no doubt.
Blackout 2022 is fantastic, I hope they make more of those.
Saw it last night, it totally hold up to the hype, it is a masterpiece.
I'm curious if we gonna see this spoiler-review someday!?
Seeing it this Friday. Super stoked. Can't wait.
I'm so hyped for 2049! Can't wait till Friday!
After hearing y'all's review, I can't wait for Villeneuve's 'Dune'. Fingers crossed it actually goes into production
And pray to the almighty beings above that Roger Deakins signs on for that one as well. GG
Okay, for me BR2049 comes down to this: In the first one I didn’t just like ALL the antagonists (Nexus 6) I loved them. Hell, WE all did.
That’s the problem w/2049. I have no empathy or interest or love or anything for the antagonists.
Villeneuve has solidified himself as one of the great filmmakers of our time.
I saw a lot of people in comments from trailers and shorts complaining that the movie will end up bad and corny but I’m sitting there thinking, Denis Villeneuve can’t possibly make a terrible movie
I have been jonesing for a sequel for so long I made my own. It only to 35 years to move on it, but at least WB finally moved on it.
Please do the episode of SJ or SJN on Why masterpieces like War for the planet of apes and Blade Runner 2049 are not doing great on Box Office?
Damnit, I fell asleep both times I tried to watch the original as a young man. Now this review has me feeling like I need to give it a better effort (20 years later) as their love of the visuals of the movie alone have me pumped to see it. That and seeing a snippit of some promo with Dave Bautista in little round glasses was too dope to deny.
Completely agree with Andy about about the first blade Runner
Will this movie make twice it $185 million budget at the box office, though?
I have a feeling I'm going to love 2049 because a lot of people I respect say it's amazing.
BUT, I have to say Arrival was one of the most pretentious sleepingpills I've ever seen. Didn't even finish it.
Well, the pacing for this film is identical to the 1982 Blade Runner..... slow!!! But if you appreciate amazing cinematography and enjoy long philosophical pondering, then you'll be fine.
Should I watch the original one before?
You don't have to, but i would recommend it. See the final cut.
Can't wait to see it! about 5 more days to go... I still need to watch the first movie too though.
