he could have a legendary titan, as in go's token episode he encounters a regiice. Since all of the regis are supposed to be held by brandon, this could mean that there are multiple of the titan pokemon
also we have had no indication that there were more then 1 hoho, but since there are multiple lugias it could be a possibility, but then again tobias has a darkrai which we never knew there was more then one of them until x and y

Why does having Latios imply he has Latias, but Entei means he doesn’t have his counterparts! That seems like a double standard. Especially for Darkrai and Cresselia!
If he can’t have Ho-oh, he can’t have Lugia!
My take would keep the same 1st 3 as yours, Heatran, Zapdos(I agree with your reasoning for those 2) & Deoxys (because I consider Regigigas as the land version of Ho-oh & Lugia & agreed with the rest of your comments throughout the video & found it the most probable.)
I think he has a Lucario
because Pikachu is seen battleling Lucario in the Japanese opening during the sinnoh league rigth after the shots of Darkrai and Entei
if he has a full team of legendaries, i'm taking away his action replay.
By Speculations, Half of his team is Legendary.
1) Darkrai {Ace}
2) Latios
3) Entei - Opening Song of Sinnoh League Victors where Ash's Pokemon were battling Darkrai & Entei. Only Tobias had Darkrai in Sinnoh League so most probably He also has Entei.
4) Lucario - This can be as well. Cuz in Japanese Opening of 4th Season of DP series. Pikachu was actually battling an unknown Lucario + Tobias is capable of training a Lucario.
5) Latias or Cresselia - Can't Say but Cresselia won't be cuz she is featured in Recent episodes
6) Any Sinnoh Starter.
If you do that he'll just pkhex them in with Powersaves.

@@MisanthropicHaze We've seen the way Legendaries can bond with people in the movies, especially Latias and Latios. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if his first Pokemon was a Fateful Encounter with one of those two.

1. Tobias did not want to fight Cynthia
2. Tobias lost to Cynthia
3. Tobias lost to a elite four member

Tobias was born in Hoenn. So I think he started with a Mudkip.
I would say his team would be:
- Swampert
- Lucario
- Latios
- Latias
- Entei
- Darkrai
We know that Cynthia comes back later, and is still the champion. I wonder if that means that Tobias doesn’t have a full legendary team - because “logically” nobody is clapping 6 legendaries.
But then again, maybe he didn’t even challenge the Elite 4 and Cynthia so that he could continue his travels and not be tied down in Sinnoh as the regions champion?
I hope we get to see him again another day
dont underestimate cynthia, she is hyped up in the games and the show as basically the second most powerful trainer on the planet, now the third after he defeat at ashe's hands, who's become a master, with leon as number 2 and cynthia number 3.
even then, as the third strongest trainer, if ANYONE can solo a team of legendary pokemon, its the likes of cynthia. especially if others on tobias's team were weak to dragon types, like garchomp.
@@prodecks6654yeah. And Cynthia is someone who studies legends. That woman was probably prepping for that fight like batman. And he had to beat the elite four first, which were shown in the show to already be leagues above Ash. So by battling them he may have revealed more of his team making prep even more possible.
Dunno why but I think Deoxys would fit really nice in his team.

@@ivandekad7249 Could be? The whole plot of the Deoxys film is that one deoxys is looking for another. It's primary ability is being able to make a few thousand clones of itself for an alien invasion. Brendon then catches a completely different deoxys right after Ryquaza smashes the meteor apart. And then Max makes friends with yet another baby deoxys over in kanto! Within a single generation we saw four of the damn things crash into the planet, and any one of them might come across tobias.
I agree, specially because if he has one it doesn't mess with any previous event that happened in the anime as Deoxys is not an important part of the Hoenn story. If there was multiple Deoxys or Tobias just having the only Deoxys in existence won't contradict anything so it's fair game.
I loved seeing a character like Tobias, someone who is skilled enough to capture legendaries and smart enough to use them in the league. Seriously, he feels like a player character who, just like most of us, decided to get the best team he could and then use it to win.
I think for the anime they wanted a cool "boss" fight for Ash, but Tobias is honestly just a very interesting character - how DID he catch those pokemon? Where did he come from? What are his goals now that he's won? I'd love to see him return, even though it is unlikely. I wanna see the rest of his team haha

He was just introduced to stop ash from winning. They wanted to continue the anime and if they let ash win the sinnoh league they wouldn’t be able to do that. He also completely disappeared after that episode.

Awesome video!! I definitely agree on some of your options, especially Entei & Latias! I never used to be too big on the Lugia suggestion because I felt like it would overshadow Darkrai, but I liked your reasoning behind it. I personally think his full team is Darkrai, Latios, Latias, Entei, Lucario and then maybe Heatran or Zapdos. I know Lucario isn't a Legendary Pokemon, but it's pretty legendary nonetheless haha. Let's hope we see his full team someday! Keep up the great videos, I really enjoyed this one!

Yea I'm leaning more towards this because Lucario is a pseudo legendary still having the legendary title. It's possible that it's heatran because the trainer with the heatran was never shown again so assuming that the anime writers was trying to show a pokemon that Tobias has but with another trainer to throw us off. I'm not sure about regigigas because of Brandon. Trainers have lots of the legendary birds.
Lucario appears right after Entei and Darkrai, so it could be a possible candidate.

Darkrai was his 1st Legendary capture. So Before Latios he would have that Lucario in the Japanese opening then Caught Latios & Entei

Also we didn’t watch Diamond and Pearl all the way through, we only saw bits and pieces and most sites would cut out the opening theme.

Which is exactly why he'll never return. There is no good storyline you can craft with a character like that. Anything that a normal trainer struggles with, or even Ash, Tobias easily crushes, and anything that Tobias actually struggles with absolutely CRUSHES normal trainers. The only people that can really challenge Tobias are likely elite 4 members or region champions.
Always hoped and wished they would put Tobias in the remakes or even in B2/W2's PWT.
Would definitely have been dope to see his full team and to battle him.
After reading ashes of the past, I have a hard time thinking of Tobias's starter not being a Delphox.

The entei one is something that always caught my attention as it very much could have been a part of Tobias' team imo. As right after Infernape clashes with it we see Buizel clash with Darkrai which we know belongs to Ash as no one else at that point uses Buizel. It is interesting how so many legendaries showed up at that point of the series. Idk if Journeys will show him but it would be nice to see him again even though we know what he did...afterall Ash did reference Tobias during the Cresselia/Darkrai 2 parter with Dawn!

He'd have one non-legendary Pokemon. His starter, but this Pokemon would probably be his strongest since it enabled him to catch legendary and mythical Pokemon. So Ash the 2nd strongest trainer in the tournament was in no shape to confront the best of Tobias' A game. OOF.
But his starter could very well have been a legendary or mythical. Pokemon like Darkrai, Latias, Latios, Phione, Shaymin or Celebi come to mind as they're one of the few legendaries and mythicals confirmed to be in multiples in the anime. I don't personally think he has a full team of legendaries, but doesn't mean he couldn't. Also it's possible to ditch a starter when doing a competitive team.

I know, his Sceptile was able to withstand the dark void and dream eater and managed to take out Darkai after it had taken damage earlier from Gible’s rock smash. Ash unfortunately lost after Pikachu was KO’d along with Latios and Tobias had some Pokémon left over. Even though Ash only made it up to the semi finals, it was still a good battle and we were able to see Torkaol and Swellow in action after their last appearance in the Hoenn saga.

I've always imagined Tobias's full team being Darkrai, Latios, Heatran, Suicune, Zapdos, and Mewtwo, but I can understand your choices and do respect your opinion.
Getting mewtwo would be the only one that doesn't make sense. All of the others are a species with a population, and multiple individuals some with drastly different personalities. Mewtwo on the other hand, there are only two of them in existence, and whether it's the boy mewtwo or the girl one, the only way you're keeping them in the ball is diplomacy. Red manages to "sorta" catch the first mewtwo, and in the manga they go on adventures together using a giant spoon as a club. The second mewtwo is more stable, less insane, but also not very combative.

Not sure about Heatran & Zapdos. But Entei is confirmed in Japanese Opening. Also Mewtwo is elusive so no chance on that.

Entei is confirmed. So Heatran cannot be there due to being another fire type, and Mewtwo there's only 2 in existence. One of which belongs to Red

Interesting idea, but I would keep the legendary titans on the list. We already know multiple of legendary Pokémon can exist (moltres being seen in Kanto, Orange Islands, Sevii Islands, and Kalos, for example) and I can definitely see Tobias having a regirock or regice.
This does not confirm that they are different Moltes though, technically it could be the same one every time. I do agree that it has been showed that there could be more than one of these legendary species but we do not know which one there are multiple unless it has been explicitly confirmed and to be honest if there's only one or multiple of these mons is only decided based on the plot that the anime needs.

You all have it wrong. His confirmed team is Darkrai, Latios, and the rest are kakuna.

This is very interesting and I think this could be Tobias’s full team also The opening also showed Pikachu fighting a Lucario so Tobias could’ve had a Lucario as a member and probably the only Noun legendary of his team.
I would had replaced lugia with lucario if that was the case. Lugia is too ace material imo to be in the back end of his team.
Cameron had 6 Pokémon. His next battle showed it to be Watchog. It was clearly seen with the rest of his knocked out Pokémon when he lost.
Raf meant that Tobias wouldn't have only relied on only bringing 2 Pokemon or less than 6 so he definitely had 6 Pokemon.
The point is Cameron didn't realize a full battle was 6 Pokemon and ONLY brought 5 Pokemon so therefore had Ash defeated 5 Pokemon, Cameron would've lost, likewise Tobias would have had a FULL team so its not like if Ash did outright defeat Latios, Tobias would've shrugged his shoulders and said "I have no more Pokemon"
@@dustinbenzel8704 wait, that's what happened in the anime? I thought he had 6 the whole time and the reason it was blank was because they hadn't decided at the time what Cameron's sixth would be but, he did have six. Where is it stated he only brought 5 to his battle with Ash?
@@michaeldaniels642 No what happened is Cameron only had 5 Pokemon with him when he battled Ash because he thought a full battle was only 5 Pokemon, upon learning it was 6 Pokemon he used 6 Pokemon against Virgil. So had Ash defeated Lucario he would've won the battle. There's a reason why the battle with Cameron is the most hated league battle, even more than Tobias.
Know that these episodes especially back to back episodes are made far in advance. So it makes no sense that they wouldn't have decided on Cameron's 6th Pokemon when fully animating the episode, and just randomly gave him a Watchog against Virgil. Episodes are made months in advance.

I actually think it's pretty likely that Tobias could have had a Deoxys on his team, in my opinion. Deoxys has appeared multiple times, whether it be in the movies or in the show. One of its show appearances was actually in the Sinnoh region. Plus, it fits in with Tobias' battle style of using fast Pokémon. I wouldn't put it past him if he had one.
Tobias is basically every 10 year old's team. The second they get a legendary/mythical, instantly on the team.
Except for Torkoal and Swellow, Ash and his team did a fantastic job against Tobias. Both Trainers were pretty good sports about the battle afterwards and I liked how Ash wished Tobias luck for the finals.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Heatran is one of his Pokemon.
This was a great video of what Pokémon Tobias could've owned. I really loved it. I hope he returns sometime and we learn more about him.

Big disagree on regigigas and lugia too, simply because I think they are _way_ too strong and important to go on his team.
Outside of that, I disagree with the lineup because of its horrible type coverage, 3 pokemon weak to rock, 3 weak to dark, 4 weak to ice... I get that type coverage matters way less in the anime, but I still don't think it makes much sense given his skill/power.

I think tobias had a victini. I say this because every gen of the anime ash obtains or sees a pokemon from the next region before going there. In kanto he sees ho-oh and misty has a togepi, in johto he battled a kid with an exploud, in hoenn max has a munchlax and ash battles agathas turtwig, gen 4 sinnoh he sees zoroak and zorua and tobias possibly has a victini..maybe the reason he never loses

I love the headcanon that Tobias is an Arceus in disguise who felt the need to endure Ash would continue journeying after Sinnoh. E.g after Ash won the League in Alola, he stops traveling for a while until he gets the job as research assistant. Then after the World Cup victory, he seems to just be wandering around places he's already been for the sake of it. If he won the Sinnoh Cup and settled down, he'd have gotten none of the character development he got in the other regions, and a lot of tragedies that Ash stopped would happen now. So Arceus, being a benevolent deity, decides to ensure the better timeline by humbling one Pallet Boi.
In this hypothetical timeline, I'd pitch his team as Darkrai, Latios, Entei, Regigigas, Giratina, and then himself. So if Ash brought the right team and knocked out the first five, Tobias himself would step onto the field and take his true form.
"A team chalk full of legendary pokemon" does not mean it's made entirely of legendaries, just a lot compared to other trainers, especially seeing as that quote is translated and overexaggerated for that occasion. Considering the draco meteor comment, I think it's safe to assume that Tobias had Latias, and then the rest of his team was entirely dragon types (Garchomp, Dragonite, etc).
It isn't safe to assume that at all, the draco meteor comment was just to say that Ash made a good play, it wasn't even referring to his own team and even if it was that doesn't necessarily mean super-effectiveness.
Why would his ace be darkrai if he is a dragon trainer? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense

Honestly the worst thing about Tobias was he was a blatant deus machina the writers threw in to stop Ash winning the Sinnoh League because they realized he was too strong, and they really wanted him to lose for some reason.
I think this is also why, starting in Unova, Ash never called on old Pokemon he didn't catch in that region (besides Pikachu) for the Regional Leagues.
I don't think he even varied his team up in the Masters Top 8 come to think of it

Well if what Tobias said is true that Ash's Gible (Dragon/Ground) with Draco Meteor (Dragon type move = STAB) could defeat any Pokémon (including the one's in his team) except Darkrai and his team are All legendarys and his Latios is Dragon/Psychic. Then The only other members he could have would be Latias Rayquaza Dialga Palkia and Girantina (and in the most extreme Arceus with a Dragon plate) according that Dragon and Ice are the only two weaknesses to the Dragon type till Gen 6

We have to assume he had none of them at one point, so he would need other Pokémon to help him catch his first legendary. (Assuming the legendary didn’t let itself be captured, which is a valid assumption in my opinion.) I think you could easily make an argument that one of his first Pokémon before his legendaries would be one of the final evolutions of the 12 starters (from that point). If that pokemon was able to help him catch a legendary in the first place, it would be a good idea to have it on the team. And if it wasn’t a starter, I think a strong fire, ghost, psychic, ice, dark or dragon type would be good contender.

An encounter with Tobias would be the perfect time to introduce gigantamax melmetal into the series, so if he and ash clashed, I think ash would be best off using definitely Melmetal and if he’s able to contact the Aether Foundation, he could try reconnect with Naganadel. Or he might be able to reconnect with Nebby, and add Nebby to his team, a good time to show off solgaleo’s z move again!

Honestly, I'm in support of your theory for his full team. Definitely makes sense for him to have the Legendaries you mentioned. I feel like Tobias winning the Sinnoh League represented how so many of us (who played Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum) cheated to get early access to Darkrai, Shaymin, and even Arceus. Who else used an Action Replay for DPP? (raises hand)

Japanese voice clearly says, Draco Meteor would have eliminated any of my pokemon other than Darkrai. Draco Meteor is super effective only on Dragon Types. Latios coming up next proving this statement. Hence the dragon type Pokemon up to Gen 4 are: Latias, Latios, Salamence, Altaria, Dragonite, Rayquaza and Garchomp.

i think instead of lugia, he might have heatran. Lugia is a bit more strong for him to not use in the start plus the fact that heatran was shown in the battles. Anyhow great video 👍
They had to bring a trainer with legendaries to make Ash lose this league, there is no other purpose... that's how strong was Ash in this season, not even the dude in the final could beat the Darkrai of Tobias meanwhile Ash has beaten not only his Darkrai but also his Latios.
Is also the first and only league where Ash finally used his old strong mons (Except Torkoal) to have a better chance winning it.
Tobias will never make an apperance again, nobody remembers him in the anime... like it never existed, not even a flashback, it was a badly written character just with the purpose to make Ash lose, nothing else, he was never mentioned again after the league... in the moment I saw Tobias with his Darkrai I already knew that Ash was gonna lose against him.
Funny with Power Creep Darkrai isn't even Uber anymore in Smogon formats while Latios tends to end up in UUBL.
Him using the legendaries is a mercy. Whatever his start pokemon was, now that's the menace. He caught those legendaries somehow guys and we saw Red on screen and in manga take down a Mewtwo with a Charizard so we know it's possible for skilled trainers to pull it off
