I have a 2003 cabinets. I want to paint my cabinets and walls. Unfortunately I bought Carrara Crema, Corian Solid Surface, which I ended up hating! I have a floor tile which is Amadora Basma tile which I love. Sherwin Williams representative suggested: white dove, shoji white or white sesame for the walls and anew gray for the cabinets.
We just ordered white cabinets (island base is black), fantasy brown countertops and medium, warm toned LPV. May I ask what sherwin Williams color you recommend for the wall color? If it helps, we really love jogging path and would like to use for our interior doors (with black hardware).
What paint for walls would you pick for white shaker kitchen cabinets, white quartz with light grey veining and stainless appliances? I think this combo is very common in recent homes, and I don't want to rip out a new kitchen. This is particularly hard in an open floor plan where wood floors throughout are a nice warm brown
Hey, I like your dog pic! Okay, so there are several different whites that tend to show up in white quartz. In general, it's usually BM White Dove or SW Pure White as the two I lean into with the 'average' white quartz. Brighter, cleaner whites suit fewer white quartz countertops :)
I have Cambria White Cliff and Cambria Rosedale with white cabinets under the White Cliff and Navy under the Rosedale Island. White Appliances---white penny tile. On backspace. Too many whites. Samples on High Reflective Whitecand Shoji seem to pull it together. Help, please. :(
Would you be able to do a Grecian Ivory SW review? I chose it for our north facing bathroom and LOVE it, but there are a lack of reviews online. I’m really surprised because it seems like a great color choice that falls in line with the “popular” whites.
Hey! Yup Grecian Ivory is a TOUGH ONE! Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, but it has a yellow-green hue that doesn't jibe with many interior finishes (countertops/tiles/carpets). This isn't to say it won't work if you have the right finishes (like non-reddish wood floor), but it isn't popular for this main reason! It also has an LRV of 63, so it's well in to the light range, so pretty far away from white and off-white, which means it has a bit more depth/meat on it bones. I'm glad it worked for you!
I have White Duck in my home but, the rooms face North, so it reads a bit grayer/neutral. I also have White Pearl quartzite counters in my kitchen and used Pure White on my trim. I love it because it did not turn Yellow in the rooms like all the other colors I tried. I must have put 30 samples on the wall. I use White duck in dark homes, and it brightens them up and blends with most of the dated floor/countertop materials (yellow/orange tones). I put White duck in 3 of my homes and I had a stager ask me what color it was because she loved how all her art/decor looked with it. I would say, both colors (and I use these 2 colors all the time in my real estate business to update homes for sale) that you must consider the sun exposure of a room before making a judgement about the colors. South and West facing rooms these colors tend to wash out or turn super yellow.. Exposure maters for all colors.
White Duck is so awesome, and you're SO right - exposure matters! Some say it doesn't, which is just crazy to me, as it can make a huge difference in how a color looks!
I'm going to say not, as the glaze might not stay on very well. For it to really work, the surface needs to be broken up so that the finish can sink in. Or, if it's a matte finish to start with, that helps.
You bet I can! I bought the long and low Alex cabinet from Ikea. I have 4 of them and put two letters per drawer (eg. A on the right side of the drawer and B on the left). This being said, I have HUNDREDS of samples. If i had less, I would group them a bit more :)

Ya, it's tough getting things squared away on videos! I do my best, which is why it's important to take notes and see the samples in person :)

So you wouldn’t use either white on a cabinet for the last stone? What would you use on the cabinets with Saint Cecilia or ornamental granite?
Now I’m curious if honey maple cabinets can be glazed with the paint colors you mentioned to create an antiqued look vs creating a flat painted look?
