We decided to use SW Dover white as a whole house color (walls and ceiling) after comparing it to Alabaster, Creamy, and Chevoit. Alabaster took on an almost grey look which we currently have but hate (previous owners thought it was a good idea to paint the entire home grey), chevoit was too "white" against the white trim of the windows and baseboards, and creamy was a smidgen darker than we what e prefer. Our house is an open plan south-facing with lots of large windows and a very open-airy feeling. We also prefer warm colors which are reflected in our mid-tone warm hardwood floors, and other furnishings. Your description of SW Dover White led me to even consider it as a color, thank you.
@marcellemcghee, hi I have the dover white on the interior walls with white on trim of base boards and windows. I have walnuti + browish lvp and kitchen cabinets. I am yet to get blinds but the dover white makes my house look yellowish. I have a south facing home. How has your experience with dover white been?
My color scheme is like the one you use on your video. What would be a beige/tan color to go with it? And a whole house color? Undertones have proven tricky for me! I like yellow undertones but not sure if it would outdate everything too much. My style is more rustic can have some modern twist but not modern nor minimalist.
Such a great video. We are finishing our basement with very little natural light. Probably looking for a green or blue color for the walls. The trim will be white and after your video we may just go with Pure White. Is Semi-Gloss the most common for trim these days?
Awesome info for this paint illiterate guy in middle of remodel☝️😅. Comments about “SW White Sesame”? I need whole house interior…lots of natural light present. Seems it’s neutral w/beige undertone? Just put in pretty light-colored 1st floor tile w/slight gray and beige tones…don’t want any grayer walls, though. If good, pair with “Pure White” trim? Thanks for any help‼️
Thank you! I am considering Sherwin Williams Pure White for my West facing kitchen & living room (walls, ceiling, cabinets). It does not get a lot of direct sunlight in the afternoon because of the trees covering it. I thought SW Pure White would be a good choice as the room has high ceilings and some architectural things close to the ceiling. Now after hearing about Alabaster, I am reconsidering but afraid that it would look too beige. Can you recommend a direction I should go to?
Did I understand you to say if you’re using Greek Villa as your main wall color to also use it on your ceiling, and trim? Would you consider going a bit darker on your trim and ceiling.. I was considering pearly white. What finish would you recommend on the trim as well? Thank you in advance.
I would definitely not recommend going with Greek villa walls and pearly white trim. You can either choose to stick with Greek villa trim or pure white!
I have Sherwin Williams "Patience" paint on my bedroom walls. What white color do you recommend for the ceiling? Thank you so much! I am really having a problem deciding.
Hello, I think I've ve watched every video you have on Alabaster 😊. I need to make a final paint choice decision and am hoping you can help me finalize. What are your thoughts on ceilings, walls and trim in Alabaster ( different sheens) If ai go that route, do I do the interior doors in Alabaster too or something like Pure White?I have white cabinetry in the kitchen and white subway tile. Final choice comes down to layout mentioned above or Alabaster walls with Pure White trim and ceilings. I just think the Pure White may throw off the cabinets or a blue undertone. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Hi there! Surely you can go for a SW Alabaster for walls, trims, and ceiling for a more modern and seamless appeal. If you’d like the walls to showcase the slightest contrast - then Pure White on the ceiling and trims would work too! Also, pure white doesn’t have a blue undertone so it should be good to go! Secondly, if you have ample architectural elements or bolder hues in your home - you can choose the first palette layout :)
@@nish.onlineinteriordesign Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and leave such a detailed explanation. I've decided on the Alabaster with Pure White trim and ceiling. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Again, thank you so much!

Excellent information and very useful.
Thank you :)
Very helpful! Thank you!
You're welcome!
Such great content! Very detailed, thorough, and helpful. Much appreciated!🙌🏻
Thanks!
Amazing content, I have made mistakes because of the undertones.
Undertones are very important!! I understand.

If you like yellow undertones - try SW Canvas tan, Natural linen, white duck, natural choice :)

Yes! Definitely semi-gloss for the trims :)

Trims are good in SW Pure White. Walls are good in White Duck or Shoji White. Even City Loft is good :)
Thanks great video, what’s your thoughts on painting different white color in a wall divided by a wall trim ?
You must choose a neutral white for ceiling and trims and a warm or cool color on the walls :)
Miss - Shoji white with what colors do you recommend for trims , shutters and door instead of black color tones ?
Sherwin Williams Pure White or High Reflective White should work :) else navy blues like Naval and Charcoal Blue on the door can work too

SW Pure White sounds good! Even Origami White or SW White Heron would make a nice choice without looking yellow in the afternoons.
Is Shoji white good for exterior on SE facing florida coastal home? I'm thinking of peppercorn trim with white garage door and honorable blue door.
Not sure about peppercorn on the trims although shoji white and honourable blue will complement!

Go with SW Pure White or SW White Flour for the slightest contrast :)

Great!
I am looking for a pure white that won't yellow but also won't look cold
Try SW Snowbound, SW Pure White, SW Egret White, SW Origami White :)
