Qantas has six GE powered 747ER's.......the RR powered 747's come up a bit short on range to operate on this route......it was the longest non stop 747 flight on the planet. Since October 2014 they have been using a380's on the route.

America needs to dive deeper into the long haul international flight business. The only American 747s I have seen are United and Delta.
