I have probably watched every wooden boat build there is, and I agree with other comments, this is way under viewed, I have seen about every technique and you showed some very simplified but high quality techniques I have never seen, your hull flipping is maybe the best I have seen hands down, geat video, you definitely have skills, love the length of video , but the quantity and quality of what you showed! A+
As befits a professional, the meticulously precise craftsmanship and attention to detail were of the highest order. It was a pleasure to see your boat come to life and she looks beautiful on the water and the trailer. I was very pleased to find your superb channel and to subscribe. Thank you for taking the care and the time to put together such a well made video, it was absolutely first rate.
I'm not a boater, too busy doing other things. One of my projects is building my own 600 sq ft cabin. I enjoy working with wood and with hand tools. I really enjoyed watching you build that boat That was incredible! Thank you for sharing!
I've built a couple of boats and watched a bunch of boat building videos and yours is, by far, the best one I've seen. Well done not just on the boat but on the video quality and content as well.
I am 68+ and so far I renovated and/or saved many boats from 16' to 30+'....now I am working on two boats, 20' sailboat and 28' woodie motor boat....and I still hope to build at least one wooden boat before I go to "other side"....if you are mobile and have means & place to build, go for it....if nothing else a small punt or garvey can be put together fairly easy in old fashion way....no epoxy and no expensive fittings....wish you the best 🥂
I lived and worked in Dar on 1999 till 2004 and back on 2006. I loved Dar. People are so friendly, and the foods are really mouth watering. I was employed by Dar es Salaam Glass in Mikocheni My projects were the PPF Tower, PPF Parking Bldg, Holiday Inn, Aga Khan Hospital, Mafuta House, BOT Bldg, NSSF Mbeya, Bunge Bldg Dodoma and some CRDB building.
Very jealous, nice job, just wish I had a place to build one. You may think of putting a skeg on the bottom for more accurate tracking/steering. Great video too, no stupid music!
I have found a silicon kitchen spatula is an excellent tool for glue ups being a versatile spreader and so easy to clean due to silicons resistance to adhesion.
It's fascinating, just think about the things we can build and create,as like this amazing wood boat, you can go outside and look at a forest of trees and see normal plants and trees, but if you think openly, you can create anything in your mind and build it,as this is a boat now because of the creativity of the human mind and able turn things around us, into a tool to use or entertainment and enjoyment, Nice job, the boat looks great 👍🏼
Every boat builder finishes up a project and thinks "I could have done that a little different" but your boat is wonderful. There are some advantages to not having a keel but like the other poster says it's also never too late.
This is obviously not your average DIY'r. He has the tools and knows how to use them. Nice work. My dad used to draw his own blueprints and build his own cabin cruisers out of plywood. A skill I did not fully inherit.
Maybe not an experienced boatbuilder but a very accomplished wood worker. Odd design to my eye but very well put together with very nice materials. The electric outboard was a vey nice touch, and something of a surprise. My only comment would be that IMO there were way too many mechanical fastenings (screws) where such a well known and regarded epoxy was used in the main structure; like by a factor of at least 10. There were probably twice as many as would be used for a traditional build without glue! I suppose it means that the joints are indestructible, but unnecessarily so, IMO.
Where the dovetails are, should be a wide board laid across them and bound tight. It ain’t too late! A 1x12 would fit well, 2x12 it’d surely hold better! If any place can break it’d seem to be that. But it’s yore business!
Awesome job babe!! I can’t wait to take the boat out when the weather gets nice!
Thank you! Yes!
Lovely project and lovely video. No distracting music. Extra points for that!
Thank you!
Even if she's a bit angular, her seamanship and craftsmanship are magnificent. She's easily driven and rides perfectly to the eye. Nicely done.
This is criminally under viewed. Incredible work as always.
Thank you!
A pleasure to watch a proper bloke make a proper boat.
Thank you!
Amazing work. Throughly enjoyed the whole video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Hard to believe he did such amazing work in only 34 mins!
Well done all the way around and the product speaks for itself. There is a satisfaction in creating something unique and useful!
Seldom do I watch everything from the start to the end... now I couldn't waste one second of it. Thank you. 👍👍👍
Thank you so much for watching!
You should be very proud, that is a very quality job for your very first boat build! You should be proud of yourself! 👍😊👍
Beautiful work.

Beautiful build!
Brings back childhood memories. That is a beautiful boat!!! Wish I could do it.
Only few minutes in and I love the use of wax paper. It is good as a protective layer when using epoxies that I’m surprised more people don’t use it.
Great Job Hesser!!!
Thank you!
Thank you for the video, took me back to when my grandfather built a boat like that when I was a kid 😊
You're welcome! Awesome!
From one boat builder to another. You knocked this out of the park! Nicely done!

I somehow never got to build the small boat of my dreams. 83 now, and time is up.

Beautiful boat really fine work with top grade materials. That’s a boat that will provide generations of enjoyment!
Top grade steel screws? This boat will be toast in five years.

Very Cyber Truck of a boat. So cool🎉
I have found a silicon kitchen spatula is an excellent tool for glue ups being a versatile spreader and so easy to clean due to silicons resistance to adhesion.

Parabéns ficou lindo seu projeto, uma mesa totalmente diferente, linda
Nice work but it needs some form of keel
Thank you. It was my first boat, and I made up my own plans. I should have made a little different.
You can always add one when you haul out. But otherwise, excellent job.
Every boat builder finishes up a project and thinks "I could have done that a little different" but your boat is wonderful. There are some advantages to not having a keel but like the other poster says it's also never too late.
Very good! Very good!!!

Very impressive Super Man.
Thank you!
After watching the monster dovetails on the sides I was surprised the bottom is two pieces.
I want a simple boat like this but with a darker color to is like a walnut or something like that
On pourrait largement diviser par quatre le nombre de vis !
Mais bravo pour cette belle réalisation !
You’re an AMAZING BOAT MAKER,,UNBELIEVABLE
Thank you!
