- ⚠️ Amazon has announced that sitestripe images will stop working. This means that your Amazon images across your website will just break.
You have until December 31st 2023 (less than two months) to replace them with something else.
Thankfully I've found a solution.

Amazon needs to have a better system. Lasso looks great... not crazy about yet another payment to have something that should be freely given to Amazon affiliate partners.
Great tool for fixing this, but as with many bloggers right now, my income has been so decimated that I can't really afford to buy a Premium plan. Any manual ways to do this even if it takes us longer?
For example, can we go through all our product pages where we have Sitestripe served images and just use the Clipper tool or something to take a screenshot of the image (same dimensions), and then reupload that in place of the Sitestripe image? Or would Az class that as breaking their ToS? Seems as they're taking away this option, there's got to be other ways of preserving these images.
You could use the Amazon API but The images will include a lot of Amazon branding details. The HTML blocks also come with a lot of formatting differences that could be challenging to line up with your other images.
As of previous years, the image link came up with the store tag itself. Dont know if lasso keeps that tag into it, as not using the store tag In to your images, you will surely get an email from Amazon saying you arent using images WITH your store. Getting image permissions from the seller is a real pain, lasso on other hand is way to expensive for all of this, this shuold be given away free of cost to Amazon Affiliates.

Great tool but to expensive for beginners... I begin with LeSecteur's Amazon Image extractor (similar to Lasso but less expensive)

I'm using Amazon API and I just finished learning how to handle all the formatting differences. I didn't realize that lasso lets you use an image without all the Amazon branding. That might be worth paying for right there.
Can lasso track my income from all of my affiliate programs? That would be very useful. I'm having to use the spreadsheet right now to keep track of all my different programs.
Hey - It's a cool tool. And yeah, Lasso tracks a lot of different programs. Do check that yours are included before you sign-up (and remember I have link for it in the description!)
This is not helpful. Basically, Amazon is cutting the small publishers loose and focusing exclusively on e-commerce affiliates.

Does Lasso provide deeplinking? how do you deal with deeplinks on your wordpress sites? so that the links open inside the amazon app and not the web browser when people are using their phone? any insight? thanks.

Personally, I just take them from Amazon but I don't link to Amazon with them. Be warned tho, this might get you in trouble :)

I've been blogging just over one year, so I am still a newbie. I have not yet added Lasso, I most defintely would if they had an auto migrator to correct my images to me Amazon's new rules.

Alex, great video... I was going to include this in my email to you .. but forgot. So, can we do the fixes you demoed in the video with a free version of Lasso? It seems to me that we are screw#d until January. Maybe it is better to utilize a third party software like Lasso so they keep up with the Amazon changes in the future through updates. Man, what a pain. But I am revamping my sites anyway so yeah. No need to rush on a reply to me. I wish you'd make a video on Backlink disowning and all that stuff... how is it done and so on. as a non-tech person...what does the auto-migration tool do? Also, is there a free way to do what Lasso does?
It switches all your sitestripe to api so they carry on working. The only free way is to do it all by hand.
l would love the auto updater/ image duplicator tool from lasso, ask him to please continue forward with this... Someone needs to move forward with this, why not be the benchmark!!! Also, just started watching your videos Alex, followed you from Darrell, you are awesome!!!
Hey Alex, Hope life is good! I am just now scrambling to get this done. I have Lasso but I am not seeing the option to import SiteStripe from the bulk import drop-down. It only shows AAWP in the list. Any ideas? I double checked my API keys and reapplied my Lasso license but still don't see it. Sorry for the fire drill but am a bit desparate as it looks like Lasso team not back until Monday. My sites already down to a small fraction of traffic and income since the Google updates hit ($5K a month > $500) but I would like to salvage the little they are making if possible. Thanks!

I don't understand how the image source (html code) will "stop working" after 1st Dec. It's just html code relating to the image on the page??
It pulls the image down from Amazon so they can switch it off

1. Encouraging API Usage:
1.1 Amazon might want to promote the use of its Amazon Product Advertising API.
1.2 The API allows more customization for developers in creating product links and widgets.
2. Cost Reduction:
2.1 Removing SiteStripe images and text+images could be a cost-saving measure.
2.2 Hosting and serving images can be expensive.
3. Improving Performance:
3.1 Amazon may aim to enhance the performance of its affiliate program.
3.2 Removing images could lead to quicker loading times, improving user experience.
Alex, Do you think there will be a Black Friday sale as it is pricey. If not will AAWP work for the Amazon changes that we need to do by Dec 31st??? Not sure which one to get. Please advise.

Sure you can. Just add the text link to the image. (I don’t think it’s against the T&C)

@@WPEagle If that's the case, how is it any different from what Lasso is doing? Lasso is grabbing the images via an API which isn't really any different than copy/paste - it's just done programatically. I'm not sure what the difference is, especially if Amazon is taking this functionality away. Both things can't be true. So frustrating really. At the end of the day, if we are only given a text link...we have to link from something whether it's text or an image.
@@thebikeracer The difference is that when using the API, Amazon retains the ability to respond to product producer requests to remove or update product images when they wish to do so. The images selected via API would either stop displaying or be replaced with the latest default product image. When using copy/paste and uploading the image to the WP image library, Amazon and their suppliers do not have this ability. It would also be less obvious that the product URL no longer exists. Ultimately, this leads to outdated product information on websites not regularly updated, which is bad for everyone.
Sooo..question. I did everything in the video and it worked & it fixed my problem (thanks) but now I have another problem. I saw some people saying for the first 3 links you have to promote & get people to buy from, you have to specifically get them to buy something from the amazon storefront. Like actual items from the store thats run under amazon. Is this true? or can you just promote anything like deals and coupons on the site?
Yeah. You need them for API access. Are you new? If not then you must of made 3 sales by now
@@WPEagleyea i’m new & just applied to amazon associates 2 days ago. i haven’t even started posting links to items because I don’t know what items i’ll get commission for vs what wont work. is there a specific page im supposed to be getting the products from? or can i just scroll down the deals page & pick any item to promote?
