A lot of women suffer from what I call 'The Savior Complex:' their love is the only way for the perennial Bad Boy to be saved from a loveless and lonely existence, no matter where he rests his head at night.
Thanks for this! I have just watched a RUclips video on the English woman who fell in love with two Texan death-row inmates who included Reginald Blanford. I appreciated your sympathetic explanation of women who are victims of trauma, and that the killer's distance may give them a sense of physical safety.
Hi Dr. Das. Once you've been in a relationship with a psychopath or narcissist, psychonarc, you shouldn't want to get back into a romantic relationship because they're not a good example of safe & comfortable enviroments. It's hard to trust them because they aren't trustworthy. See you on your next show. Peace to you & your family, love, Janine Smiley✌👍😏😀😎😍🤗💯❕❗🎵🎶🆒️☕🍩☕🥧☕🎂
I was in loop of disfunctional/abusive relationships when i was in high school, at that point I had been bullied over 10 years in row, I had untreated PTSD(got help on those same times but it took years to heal from it, nowadays ptsd doesnt control my life anymore💜) and had low self-esteem. At some point I was able to reflect and realize that I wanted to get validation from wrong people because I thought it could solve something in me, also I believed I could make those people more stable and happy because I thought I could help them. After the realization I found healthy and happy relationship where I have been last 2 years💜 I sometimes feel sorry for serial-killers, I dont view them attractive but like I "could save them" I know this ain't healthy or realistic, it's like some trauma-based-delusion-thing but I kinda understand why some people fell for serial-killers, I just hope those people would gain enough tools to reflect why they feel that way.
I'm betting LOYALTY is a characteristic for these women. I'm thinking about a relationship from my younger days that had too many red flags, but I could feel good and noble about myself because I was being loyal to him. Thank you doctor. Your videos are most thought provoking.
Fascinating - I wonder if the serial killer Aileen Wuornos got any marriage proposals from men (or other women come to think of it). And as for Hybristophilia and royalty Princess Margaret used to like a bit of rough.
Where is the proof of women prefering cave-men? I've never been able to find it myself, which is one of the reasons why I've dismissed it as nonsense. Another is without a doubt that I, and the women around me, find them just about as attractive as maggots. What is attractive about a man like Ted Bundy should be obvious, if you for a moment look at the man and not his actions. He is good-looking, well-spoken, charming, maybe polite and funny. It's a great combination. A lot of naïve women could fall for that. It's probably the reason why they had a crush on him and not on John Wayne Gazy. But in the end there is the non-avoidable fact: He is a murderer, and he has even killed children. We do ourselves a disservice if we ignore, what are appealing about these men, so we can look at the whole man and conclude, that nothing is more important than his actions.
I had a classmate in my teens that I think would potentially be attracted to violent dangerous men because she ended up with a boyfriend that during intimacy would bite her hard enough to break skin and she bragged about it very openly, showing off the bite marks etc so if you are aroused by pain I think you'd feel attraction to the people capable of inflicting pain too. I remember finding her braggings very disturbing.
Interesting Pocast Dr Das I've always been attracted to Alpha type males but the abuse that came with it was mental torture I suffered abuse as child and I personally feel i grew up looking for the love in a partner which i didn't feel in my childhood esp from my Father So wouldn't it boil down to that saying 'Daddy issues' The whole thing felt really messed up for me 😔
Just recently come across your channel. Really really enjoying it. Done a lot of bingeing old videos. Super interesting. Love your humour as well. Thanks for creating this kind of content.
This has always fascinated me but then love and who/what people are attracted to is so personal to the individual and often not understood by others BTW the difference between your recent videos and the ones from inception are night and day, your personality has really come through as you've grown in confidence. Well done Dr Das. You've grown on me (like lichen)
You seem to be an intelligent man so it was surprising to hear your joke about having a relationship in prison that would “make you walk funny”. Are you making a joke about rape? Or just being homo/bi phobic? Either way very disappointing.
The year is 2023: The door to an exciting future has opened: Mankind has invented computers and the Internet, people can exchange new ideas across continents with just the click of a button - and all this knowledge can be used to dig age-old jokes about gay sex deep from the ground to increase viewer numbers on an entertainment video platform. By a certified psychiatrist. Door slams shut.
Women that come to mind are Afton Burton who at 26 was going to marry 80 year old Charles'Manson, Kathyrn MacDonald the wife of Jeffery MacDonald, Lyle Menendez married twice, Erik Menendez married his wife and they are still married. Tammi, Erik's wife, has written a book about her life with Erik. I do not understand how a woman could marry a man who is a murderer. I guess the prospect of fame and money may be a good reason for some. As always a great video!
Dr. Das, I've always wonder why Ted Bundy picked this particular woman. Would you be able to explain why the people in custody choose to identify one admirer? I would think as narcissist with little control they would enjoy the volume of attention and would be keen to keep that going. So I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on what these psychopaths think they are getting out of it. I'd also be interested to hear if Dahmer had any male fans or if these types of thought disorders seem particular to women.
Ha interesting but even more fascinating is your humor which makes me sympathetic towards your wife. She probably feels like she has one more child than you do. I love watching you. I would be interested in hearing how five police officers could participate in beating one man so badly he dies. What psychosis was going on? Tyree Nichols murder
There are numerous Ted Bundy fan girls on RUclips who post videos that celebrate him. They idolize him as if he was Robert Redford. It is utterly sick and appalling.
Hello to you The Ominous Sohominous!! Just catching up with your videos atm. I can’t even begin to understand women that are attracted to any kind of that type of evil creatures. Yikes 😳😱😬 EEEEEKKK!!! I can’t wrap my mind around it. Love the Ninja Turtle behind you (Leonardo,) big fan of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!! 💙(I do appreciate how you gently explain the women who are attracted to such creatures.)
Recent research by a primatologist named Richard Wrangham suggests that the most successful (dominant) males amongst some species of primate, are most socially adept males - not necessarily the biggest & strongest ones. Jordan Peterson interviewed him about 6 months ago about the topic, the interview is on YT.
Do you know this guy Gert Postel? Though he wasn't but a mail carrier, he didn't only post as an academic, he even worked as a psychiatrist and wrote reports about delinquents, which is, so to say, your German equivalent. After being released from prison, he married a lawyer (or even a judge?) from Stuttgart. She let herself be impressed by his personality, which is highly manipulative. Now, he is presenting himself as a victim of psychiatry, claiming that already his mother was, and acting as brand ambassador of the anti-psychiatry movement (BTW: It actually happens that a psychiatrist writes a report about you without ever having spoken to you or knowing anything about you, as in the case of Gustl Mollath.)
The background music playing while you’re talking is super distracting. I’m not a fan of background music while verbally discussing a topic but if you feel you must have it could you lower the volume?
Dr Das please please please could you do a video about why there are 1000s of us still hung up on darrell brooks, we all detest him but are obsessed with watching anything to do with him? I've even got my pyscho therapist watching 🤣🤣 i blame you after watching your vids 🤣
Thanks for that. Very interesting. Could you do an episode on MKUltra and the techniques they used? Like disorientating sounds and visuals. Has the UK every done anything similar?
Yes,he has a daughter, with that ridiculous woman that he married..he actually proposed while in court ! She totally believed he was innocent, and regularly visited him in prison.. There are documentaries about them.. The prison officers clearly turned a blind eye,and the obvious happened.. She was not pregnant before the incarceration! I truly hope that this young woman does not know the identity of her father..I wouldn't cope well with hearing that!
Around 11:43 you mentioned 'this recent trend in true crime' feeding a different issue. I became an avid true crime consumer about 2 yrs ago. Am i part of said trend? Was the audience for the genre smaller b4? Is interest a response to media offerings or are media trying to keep up w demand? If latter, could the spike in interest possibly be due to worsening violence e.t al in the world? Hmmm

Would you do a video on psychopathy and intelligence? My sister and I were chatting about it recently and were surprised to find that it's claimed that psychopaths tend to be below average intelligence. I thought this was very interesting and have my own armchair speculation on it but I'm curious what you think?
@@APsychForSoreMinds wicked (pun intended). We thought it might be a bit limited to base 'intelligence' just on IQ scores (especially as I'm not so sure they go into social intelligence which surely psychopaths must have a reasonable degree of?) but I'm not sure there are more rounded ways to measure intelligence... I also thought that the perception of them as intelligent could be a misperception based on not taking into account that they are playing by different rules due to their lack of moral values.. kind of like thinking someone's good at a game because they seem to do well but ignoring the fact that they cheated to get to where they are? Look forward to the vid!
