Greek listener here, the Greek pronunciation would be closer to "ebrestophelía" (υβριστοφιλία) though you did a good job tackling that beast of a word.
I love the humor your add to your script, it keeps the video fresh and entertaining even if the subject is dark, really entertaining and educational at the same time!

A lot of women suffer from what I call 'The Savior Complex:' their love is the only way for the perennial Bad Boy to be saved from a loveless and lonely existence, no matter where he rests his head at night.

Thanks for this! I have just watched a RUclips video on the English woman who fell in love with two Texan death-row inmates who included Reginald Blanford. I appreciated your sympathetic explanation of women who are victims of trauma, and that the killer's distance may give them a sense of physical safety.

Hi Dr. Das. Once you've been in a relationship with a psychopath or narcissist, psychonarc, you shouldn't want to get back into a romantic relationship because they're not a good example of safe & comfortable enviroments. It's hard to trust them because they aren't trustworthy. See you on your next show. Peace to you & your family, love, Janine Smiley✌👍😏😀😎😍🤗💯❕❗🎵🎶🆒️☕🍩☕🥧☕🎂

I was in loop of disfunctional/abusive relationships when i was in high school, at that point I had been bullied over 10 years in row, I had untreated PTSD(got help on those same times but it took years to heal from it, nowadays ptsd doesnt control my life anymore💜) and had low self-esteem. At some point I was able to reflect and realize that I wanted to get validation from wrong people because I thought it could solve something in me, also I believed I could make those people more stable and happy because I thought I could help them. After the realization I found healthy and happy relationship where I have been last 2 years💜 I sometimes feel sorry for serial-killers, I dont view them attractive but like I "could save them" I know this ain't healthy or realistic, it's like some trauma-based-delusion-thing but I kinda understand why some people fell for serial-killers, I just hope those people would gain enough tools to reflect why they feel that way.

I'm betting LOYALTY is a characteristic for these women. I'm thinking about a relationship from my younger days that had too many red flags, but I could feel good and noble about myself because I was being loyal to him. Thank you doctor. Your videos are most thought provoking.

Where is the proof of women prefering cave-men? I've never been able to find it myself, which is one of the reasons why I've dismissed it as nonsense. Another is without a doubt that I, and the women around me, find them just about as attractive as maggots.
What is attractive about a man like Ted Bundy should be obvious, if you for a moment look at the man and not his actions. He is good-looking, well-spoken, charming, maybe polite and funny. It's a great combination. A lot of naïve women could fall for that. It's probably the reason why they had a crush on him and not on John Wayne Gazy. But in the end there is the non-avoidable fact: He is a murderer, and he has even killed children.
We do ourselves a disservice if we ignore, what are appealing about these men, so we can look at the whole man and conclude, that nothing is more important than his actions.

I had a classmate in my teens that I think would potentially be attracted to violent dangerous men because she ended up with a boyfriend that during intimacy would bite her hard enough to break skin and she bragged about it very openly, showing off the bite marks etc so if you are aroused by pain I think you'd feel attraction to the people capable of inflicting pain too. I remember finding her braggings very disturbing.

Tammi, Erik's wife, has written a book about her life with Erik.
I do not understand how a woman could marry a man who is a murderer. I guess the prospect of fame and money may be a good reason for some.

Dr. Das, I've always wonder why Ted Bundy picked this particular woman. Would you be able to explain why the people in custody choose to identify one admirer? I would think as narcissist with little control they would enjoy the volume of attention and would be keen to keep that going. So I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on what these psychopaths think they are getting out of it. I'd also be interested to hear if Dahmer had any male fans or if these types of thought disorders seem particular to women.

Do you know this guy Gert Postel? Though he wasn't but a mail carrier, he didn't only post as an academic, he even worked as a psychiatrist and wrote reports about delinquents, which is, so to say, your German equivalent. After being released from prison, he married a lawyer (or even a judge?) from Stuttgart. She let herself be impressed by his personality, which is highly manipulative. Now, he is presenting himself as a victim of psychiatry, claiming that already his mother was, and acting as brand ambassador of the anti-psychiatry movement (BTW: It actually happens that a psychiatrist writes a report about you without ever having spoken to you or knowing anything about you, as in the case of Gustl Mollath.)

We thought it might be a bit limited to base 'intelligence' just on IQ scores (especially as I'm not so sure they go into social intelligence which surely psychopaths must have a reasonable degree of?) but I'm not sure there are more rounded ways to measure intelligence... I also thought that the perception of them as intelligent could be a misperception based on not taking into account that they are playing by different rules due to their lack of moral values.. kind of like thinking someone's good at a game because they seem to do well but ignoring the fact that they cheated to get to where they are? Look forward to the vid!

You also brought up the ease of the relationship and not having to deal with a lot of the minutiae and that as well makes eense. Part of the reason I never married or had kids was because I never felt prepared for the amount of work and stress that comes with having both of those .it's enormous. Or at least to me always seemed enormous. And I really try to avoid stress which would have been the main thing that I would have disliked. Coupled with my low self esteem and depression I've had most of my life
