I’m sure we’ve all had bosses who would score highly on the Hare list: bullying, appointing favourites, divisive, fancying themselves but accomplishing nothing positive. I know I have and I think the value of your analysis is that more people will be aware of them.

My mother scores really high on the psychopath test. She checks almost all the boxes. It was very hard being raised by someone so cruel, but it made me into a pretty good stand up comic. So… swings and roundabouts.
She’s dead now and I use her urn as a door stop. She’s more useful in death than she ever was in life.
Your videos are excellent and the impressions I’ve seen so far are better than Spitting Image. So, if the being a Dr doesn’t work out, you’ve got showbiz to fall back on.

  • @genevisionmedia7868
    @genevisionmedia7868 2 года назад +7

I don't know why the point system is different from US to UK but I guess its something to do with different countries having different cultures and belief systems. Even though US and UK can be quite similar we in the UK still think the right to carry guns is a bit much for example. Which leads to the question I was thinking about watching this. In light of current world events and the attitude and personalities of how people react would there be an even higher threshold of tolerance of behaviours from a place like Russia because certain traits are ingrained, so some of her behaviours are normalised. Or am I being wildly stereotypical and unconsciously biased. I have never watched the series.
By the way I also think that every head of state, PM and President in the world right now has a personality disorders namely narcissism. I know you covered thus topic but would be good to see if I have a point

Whoa, alarming! I’ve been in denial of the fact I volunteered for someone who was evidently a psychopath for a while, not really sure what exactly makes a psycho… The psycho label is thrown around colloquially all too often. But if this test is anything to go by he definitely is! I’d score him at about 32, at least, judging by my own perspective though… That’s the tricky thing about psychology, objectivity is impossible…

The Hare Psychopathy Checklist seemed like too blunt of a tool to me when I first read it years ago. It left too much up to the interpreter. It didn’t seem forensic to me. I remember being surprised reading it because it still seems to be the gold standard by which a psychopath is deemed so. I think we can do better here.

My ex scores high on this list. Are there recommendations for people raising children that may have these traits? I feel it's a mix of nature and nurture so I can't fix the nature aspect, but I am in control of the nurture aspect. Whenever I see true crime shows, the parents seem to be (not all but a large proportion) very blind to their child's issues and very quick to belive the liar even if it isn't logical. How does someone avoid being the parent who raises a psychopath that becomes an offender? I hope this question makes sense. Essentially, I'm looking for what to do from the nurture standpoint as a caregiver of a true psychopath. Love your work!

Trying to fit the complex nature of - well, human nature, into tick-box criteria, can be only a sort of a dubious questionable diagnostic map. Hare's seems to be more gender-based - focusing on violent or criminal males? Heard of Hare's book, not read, -so guessing. Seems to have a low threshold for boredom, low anxiety/guilt levels, a high level of hedonism, manipulativeness, and a belief in her own blatant lies. This can happen if you repeat them enough and invested in them from avoidance. Will have to watch the programme now. Keep going with the channel, will buy your book. .

Thanks DOC , i hear Hares book without conscience is a good read, i think the reason for the score being 25 in britain , is because American s are naturally flamboyount so the score is raised to 30.I am a Borderline I have said before in many ways its the exact opposite to being a Psychopath, the emotions of borderline, are very deep . Borderlines can gamble alot and Lie because they are afraid of there gambling problem being known beacuse of obviously gambling, can have a bad affect on the family. outside of my gambling addiction , i don't Lie much . i always feel terrrbly guilty for gambling to those i have caused problems too. My addiction.I lie to try and hide my addiction , but i don't Lie continually, and i certainly dont want to gain financially from other peoples pain. Thanks for your knowledge on Psychopathy DOC. really enjoy your videos , i reckon i score about 14 on the checklist, so i do have cross over psychopathic traits, to score around 14, but i'm way off being a Fully blown Psychopath though. I do have a strong conscience, and i feel terrible when i do something bad, so much so my conscience cause me to feel unwell and stresed. Thank you for Listning to me DOC.

Now, you have shown that you can't write an expert's report without applying any criteria, just by babbling and bubbling. I'll take this to the court: no diagnosis without criteria.

A number of years ago, a short series on TV some people took part in a program that sorted people into 'classes' of psychopathy or traits; narcissist etc. I forget the name of the prog, but it was very interesting. People were given a test that I haven't checked the name of, but it consisted of three large sweet jars. One ha red balls, one had blue balls and one had a mixture of the two. They were asked to guess which jar the coloured ball had come from, blue, red or mixed. Every one of them, except for a middle-aged woman from Edinburgh, I remembered something. lol She never mentioned the mixed jar. The blue ball came from the blue jar, the red from the red, even when several of the balls were taken from the mixed jar. She was asked, “Are you sure?”, yes, she was sure. She was classed as a psychopath on that test alone and, quite frankly, it came as a shock to those of us watching.

I think we shouldn't rush to score her zero for juvenile delinquency. The serious doesn't tell us about her teenage life in Russia before emigrating to Germany. I am highly inclined to think she must have had a problematic behaviour then. Given that her father in an interview has highlighted "she has always been like that, she has always been selfish " should indicate something. So it must be an omission of the serious and the character depiction leaving this out that explains the zero and gives a deflated overall score.

Ya know I used to really like Dr. Grande . Until he started pandering to headlines and sensationalism to less intelligent subscribers that wanna hear about trash celebrities like Johnny Schlep and Amber Turd . He used to talk about different diagnoses and if you remember his tag line he's "not diagnosing anyone is (his) videos, but ragther he just (discusses different mental health topics and how they can be related to a situation like those) " So , theres your proof-no spurious diagnosing whatsoever lol however now my interest has been piqued as to why you called him out. is he your arch nemesis??? 🤔 do you have have many enemies? How do you feel when you've hurt someone? 👩‍⚕️Ever break the lawww hmmmm? How bout lying Mr Das if that's your real name? 🕵‍♀️

I'm no expert but my instinct re repetitiveness on the psychopath test is that it's not necessarily a bad thing - it has the effect of weighting certain factors, which might be more significant in the diagnosis, more than others which might be less significant. It's also a way of picking up more nuance in the answers than would be allowed by a simple 0-2 score on individual factors.
I don't know enough about it to claim that this is definitely why the repetition is there, but I don't think that repetition on its own is enough to make it a "bad" test without further explanation.

The test seems to focus on short term relationships of a sexual or romantic nature. I didn’t see the Netflix series but I have read about her. When people questioned her activities or it pressed her for money it was necessary for her to end the relationship. I don’t know if that should be included in the test. I feel it is significant. As always a great video

Loved the show on Netflix. Very interesting to say the least.
