Could you possibly make it so that Elite-on-Spartan assassination animations can be performed on marines too, since it'd be nice to have something to perform those animations on? I know that not all of them will look right so you might not be able to add all of them but still, just a suggestion.

Huh. Marines are actually pretty scary to fight. It's not that they are that strong, it's just that their performance is rather consistent. When fighting the Covenant, you can pick away at the little guys before focusing on the bigger threats, and then you can kite the bigger threats. But when fighting Marines, all of them are pretty much an equal threat, and move at the same speed so there really isn't a hope to get them separated. Did I also mention that, because they use ballistic weapons, you can't dodge them, and have to play around hard cover and corners? Honestly, if it wasn't for the Covenant's numerical advantage and advanced starships, the UNSC would have won in short order. It's true that the UNSC has the advantage on the ground.
The UNSC's weapons tend to do worse against shields than Covenant weapons, but they're still good enough. Elites tend to be difficult for individual Marines to deal with, especially the higher ranks. That's why the Spartans turned out to be so useful.

A single overcharged plasma pistol round or standard plasma shot could put a marine down because of the extremely high heat. The humans had virtually no protection against plasma weapons. The carbine even shoots radioactive rounds that can kill days after the shot hits. And let’s not forget that a single needle from the needles or needle rifle could kill a human. The massive needle pushes almost a foot into your body, then explodes. A super combine isn’t even needed. The needle bursts on its own. The covenant had numbers on their side, yes, but they also had extremely advanced technology. It takes Spartans to handle multiple squads of covenant. A single elite can wipe out a squad of Marines singlehanded. Humanity was getting slaughtered by the covenant. That’s why the Spartans were such a success: they were the only thing that could stand against them.
There's definitely a big difference in terms of weapon effectiveness between Halo Lore and actual gameplay. Like how the plasma rifle and assault rifle can't kill any enemy (or marine for that matter) with a headshot.
I think it's not that the marines are canonically killing machines, the thing here is that they have never been balanced in-game to be conventional enemies. The only times they are is when you commit treason and, yeah, they are a bunch of tough son of a bitches (because the damage and accuracy are increased so that you cannot survive) I don't think a couple of Marines are a match for a Spartan or a high-ranking elite

Yeah, they seem to have a more aggressive AI (since theres less enemies and a single objective to push) Plus the fact that their damage isn't nerfed to 25% or whatever.
Ryan Morgan It always bothered(and still does) that the friendly AI(apart from the Falcons from Reach’s first mission, man they fucked the banshees and infantry up), does little to defend themselves. I don’t mind them having low health, but the damage they do and stupid programming they have, such as running out into 2 hunters, just shouldn’t be the way it is. I’d like if they stayed in cover more while dishing out more damage. I get the whole one man army thing, but why even have friendlies if they do nothing but die? Anyways, that’s my little rant. lol
@@north7764 Same thing for Noble Team. If our enemies had been tougher/more numerous, but our allied Spartans were actually helping, it would have fostered a way better connection. Most of the game is in gameplay, and despite them doing okay through cutscenes only, it would've really helped the narrative if Noble Team was useful. Plus it would make the game feel different during those sections where you were alone.

Not necessarily. During the Fall of Reach, Covenant squads massively overwhelmed individual human bases and settlements, forcing the humans to have to hold out. Both versions make sense.
fun fact: Reach has a PvP firefight mode where some players spawn in as elites and help the covie find and kill you could you do what you did here in a PvP mode but instead of elites the other players spawn in as spartans helping the unsc

Seeing all these great mods, makes me want to learn how to mod, imagine firefight as covenant fully multiplayer with ODST drop pods dropping down, Sergeant Johnson, Sergeant Stacker, and perhaps some custom random sergeants leading platoons of marines and Spartans Or perhaps slayer firefight, combine two sides of 4 with armies at their disposal, spawning in certain forces based on the number of player kills
Its probably best to wait until better mod tools appear. Right now we can only modify game assets, we cant make anything purely custom yet. There is a tool in the works but i doubt it will ever be finished due to the sadly dwindling population of MCC PC.
You should add some friendly covenant A.I to help you. Doesn't have to be much, maybe have it be a squad of grunts or jackals led by an elite minor, or if your feeling feisty add a squad of elite zealots lead by a field marshal at the start.

Firefight could be made into something so much better. Each class shouldn’t just have different weapons but also abilities like the medic calling in ODSTs to drop into battle after getting a certain amount of points or the engineer class calling in a pelican to drop off marines in a warthog or something. The assault class calling in marines and the support class calling in a group of snipers or something or the heavy gunner calling in weapon drops/calling in ai turrets from the sky! Maybe the entire squad can use their points to call in a group of Spartan 4s or something.
People that keep bringing up the "lore" marines fail to realize that until the events of Halo CE, humans were getting annihilated by the Covenant. Ground engagements dont matter when you can turn a planet into molten glass from orbit, which is what the covenant did to every planet except for Earth, which they would have done if not for the Ark, the Flood, and the Civil War.
I tried both installing the map with Assembly and manually replacing it and neither method worked. Upon loading, I am sent back to the Main Menu. Is this updated?
343 couldve done so much with halo. They didnt expand on firefight, they didnt expand on forge, they didnt add any multiplayer modes or even keep the good ones...theyve added NOTHING to the franchise at all and its a shame (apart from shitty characters)

After every round a pelican drops a new ODST that follows you and can trade weapons with. The Pelican also drops a warthog that the ODST can ride on with you. Great for single player so you can have the ODST under the gunner seat. The ODST that drops from the pelican also has smarter AI than the 4 that spawn at the start.

If it was Ingame they would be doing all the work for you when as a spartan it should be the other way around. They already have instant aim accuracy with infinite ammo power weapons if given them, having the elites ability to dodge and cover would be overkill.

The marines are mute because sound injection was not a thing yet, meaning you cant bring sounds from other maps. Due to how firefight waves are spawned, adding female marines would be a pain so i didnt add them at the time.

Army troopers should be the weakest then Marines then ODST
Its not in the video but i did add them both. There are waves of stronger odst's then a few waves later you get the spartans after you.

If it was Ingame they would be doing all the work for you when as a spartan it should be the other way around. They already have instant aim accuracy with infinite ammo power weapons if given them, having the elites ability to dodge and cover would be overkill.
I had the ability to modify how the marines behaved but i did not bother at the time.

Cool mod, only problems I see are how the marines are mute and that none are female. Otherwise looks great
The marines are mute because sound injection was not a thing yet, meaning you cant bring sounds from other maps. Due to how firefight waves are spawned, adding female marines would be a pain so i didnt add them at the time.

Why they didn’t include this on the base game is beyond me. It would of been so fun to play as an Elite taking on marines, ODST troopers and having a spartan appear here & there.
They probably did not have the idea when they were making the game.
