      @@Frostgiantbutsmall I mean, it's incredibly more toxic to crash a casual Commander game with 6+ people with this. You're essentially expecting the other players to restart the game for you and let you in on the next game so you can do it all over again. If you say "oh, I'm gonna switch decks," well then why did you play it in the first place? All you're gonna do is draw the ire of the whole table and be killed off early if you ever try to play with them again.

  • @scooberz2015
    @scooberz2015 2 года назад

    First one was kind of accurate. Durdling around basically playing 4p solitaire while nothing is of any consequence and there for nothing really has impact.
    Second one. There is no cEDH pod on this planet where that's even close to realistically happening. If you apply the idea of "pretend interaction doesn't exist" that is ever-present in a game of "casual" EDH, than most CEDH decks will just walk away with the game.
    But nearly every deck is packed with every possible counterspell as well as top end removal, not to mention the vast array of hatebears.
    More accurate title would be "Stoned AF EDH" vs "Pubstoming EDH".
    PS: Leyline? Lab Man over Oracle?
    PPS: I like most cEDH players, love casual EDH as well. Sometimes we want to ye know, play the game though instead of psuedo-RPing for 90 minutes.

      @@MrLoowiz ok :) personally, I like cEDH more. Games are less time consuming and randomnes is limited. I also like cEDH deck building more. I guess, that many people would say the opposite is the case, but to me not having to limit yourself makes for far more creative deck building, where things can actually work the way they are intended (instead of accidentally). And yes, there are auto-includes. But tbf, isn't Sol Ring in every non cEDH deck as well? And truly all kinds of fast mana are not a cEDH issue, but purely a monetary one, with price being the outcome of, not the reason for inclusion. In that regard, I think that cEDH decks aren't nearly as one dimensional as people sometimes make them out to be.

    • @MrLoowiz
      @MrLoowiz 2 года назад +4

      @@w4tch0ut10 Less time consuming seems counter-productive, considering I usually play to spend time having fun. And randomness is what makes Magic fun (which is why I hate tutors, which ironically drag the game on with searching and shuffling. I removed every tutor from my monoB EDH deck). I'd argue that you're limiting yourself on cEDH, which is why you always see the same cards and you know exactly what cards are in someone else's deck. You won't play a different and fun combo, you'll always go for what works. 99% of cards are considered unplayable by cEDH standards, so your arsenal of cards is limited.
      In some cEDH matches I've played and seen, people spent more time preparing for the game than actually playing it. It's a battle of no mana counters, combos and people winning out of nowhere. To each their own, but I'd much rather make a fun, jank deck and test different ways to play a commander, or different combos that no one has ever seen before.
      Plus, my EDH decks are my own. All the cEDH decks I've seen are either net decked or 99% equal to some optimized list, which takes away any personality the deck could have.

      Proxies completely negate your cost argument if it is out of your price range and your tables are understanding human being literal paper and pen is all you need or a printer, also my experience with casual is far worse because all anyone does half the time is actively attempt to prolong the game which is far less enjoyable than actually just you know developing your gameplan and attempting to win like intended. I understand my argument is based in annecdote however, the "casual" community literally bitched about the flash banning which literally was against the ideas of casual and competitive commander because believe it or not the cEDH community is playing commander just as much as everyone else we just prefer to "generally" (some people are in fact just elitist scumbag assholes) play to win without limiting ourselves to playing weaker card options or we prefer higher power level formats. You know playing the game is fun, but playing it for the purpose of just keeping the game going until everyone has a boardstate so large they can't even process all their triggers just defeats the purpose of playing the game, because at the end of the day the general point of a game is to win it, because winning is fun.
