I'm surprised there's so much hate in the comments particularly from other riders. It really doesn't matter if you ride BMX, MTB, Road, Fixed or even a fucking motorbike we're all riders and on some level you can totally appreciate the feeling of being on two wheels. This video totally speaks to me and I completely understand how they feel. People are always looking for reasons to being other people down I mean FFS this is just a video about how much they like what they're doing, jeez.
I guess what drives these comments is the same male bravado that makes this all-female riding group essential. With so much puffed up egos around, how can you have fun biking?
Exactly, I probably won't see any fixie riders saying bullshit in other videos from other riders, that's why they say on the video people are jealous, otherwise i can't understand that much hate.
its the riders not the bike , not their gender , not their race , just the behavior of the ride rin general that people in the comments well comment about
That feeling of control you get on a fixie is comparable and thus linked to the self consciousness you reach as you're doing it!! it brings you to a level of mental and physical control of your bike and-->as your own self that non-fixers asking "what do you find in fixie-riding?" can never understand......!!!!!! And for more you do it, the more you get hooked..
Beautifully choreographed and gorgeously shot - you really look as if you are enjoying yourselves. Its bringing back the fun we know as kids when we first hopped on a bike . You girls are in symphony with your machines. Kudos !
This is a well made short. I love the bicycles and you girls. I'm a bicycle builder and truly respect that you want to build your own bicycle. It's the pure.
Shiiiitt!! I used to live right there! Even before I was a fixer; still it brings back so much memories.... Great vid, great tricks! Big respect girls, I'm out drawn! (and jealous..)
You know girls, when i saw the Flinders station I just felt OMG!!!! I cannot believe you guys are in Melbourne!!! I love Melbourne, I love fixie and single gear bike. I was just surprised on your perfect skills on the fixies!!!! Well done girls!!
Drank Bak well tbh, even if you had a proper brake, your bike would still go sliding because of the slickness of the tires. So with brakes or without, you're still going to get in a car wreck if you're riding a fixie in ANY rush hour.
Actually no, I rode my Fixie in Berlin and Madrid and even during rush hour I'm ok. It is not like the bike doesn't have any brakes and instead of stopping you learn to go with the flow. During rush hour you move through the empty spaces between the cars until you are at the top and even then you sometimes can switch to the pavement and cut some traffic lights like that or just brake and wait until the traffic light changes. I don't know about Amsterdam tho since there are so many bikes and people.
What a beautiful documentary about 5 great ladies sharing their fixed gear passion. This city your in looks so magical also! I just wish you ladies could share the names of these sounds in the soundtrack as they don't show on shazam and soundhound.
Awesome bikes and cool bike riding! Almost makes me want to get one. I'd hate it though. I had a single-speed and hated that. I like gears and brakes. Very cool video!
i just landed in melbourne a week ago and brought my bike with me, is there a mao with some of these places in a video id love to find me own trail to rip on everyday
Really enjoyed this video and what a gorgeous closing shot!! Thanks for the hard work it must have taken to edit this and tell a story. Super fun, glad to see girls tearing it up!!
I ride fixed all over LA county and the I.E. and I love it mainly because I've got a fast bike that I can pound and repair if need be pretty cheaply. Sure if I had the cash to get and maintain a nice road bike I might but for where I'm at and commuting and enjoying the ride the fixed is a great choice. I'm not sure what my ratio is but it's great for climbing hills, pulling off the line and a slight uphill. Not the fastest on the downhill.
That was separates a real woman from a hippi better put a in addition side wheels and go home man and play the wife and cut your pippi with a knife... with best regards from zurich cinelli sf bolt fix rider masculin... epic love all of you in the clip... from an egyptian/swiss admirer.... :-)
That's a really nice video you put together. I commute on a single speed in Brisbane and you've inspired me to buy a fixie and give it a shot. Keep it up! :)
Reminds me of hanging out with friends on BMX bikes when I was a kid. I like the pink bike the best - never seen a fixie with contemporary components before. I still don't totally get the whole deal with fixed gear, but this makes me think maybe I should try it. I'm sure I have everything but the hub on hand...
I don't like toe straps - people claim you have to have them. It's tough on the knees - very short rides at first. You can usually take the dish out of a wheel to center it better, for fixed gear use (I've read up on it at Sheldon Brown, but I bought my solution inexpensively, so didn't have to solve this). You're going to love it. May not take to it as a main thing, but it's way fun.
Only on very steep hills. ;) I go for weeks without reaching for the hand brake levers. Weird because my brain knows (shortly after mounting, anyway!) which brake system applies during *this* ride only.
I loved riding fixed as well, but I feel a large part of it is the community it attracts. At least in my experience, road biking is either racers who go really fast to the point where you almost vomit on rides because you're working so hard or older people who ride really slow.
any one have the scoop on east coast events calendar ??? fixin to throw up-lol- first fixie comp here in tennessee 20 miles north of chattanooga...next years events should be bigger spring and fall.... anyone have any facebook groups so i can post event???? cant seem to find anything fixie???- great vid girls
1:08 "I love fixed in that i feel like I'm physically pushing every motion forward" ...You just described the underlying mechanic of all bicycles, how is that different from any other non electric/gas powered bike?
dont get me wrong, this video is well really made and i like the vibe conveyed, bur really! 1:18-1:48 are a textbook example why fixie riders are frowned upon and heavily contribute to give other cyclists a bad reputation. unpredictable, twitchy and negatively cheeky driving behavior, even in dense traffic, dark clothing with nothing to improve visibility, and worst of all sacrificing the most basic safety implement of a brake for a silly badge of honor, that puts others at risk. dont be fricken inconciderate anarcho pricks!
Cuda FX u just described me! i should make a fixie🤔 i have a more daredevil side to road biking, although i would put brakes on, but i listne to music on my mountain bike or road bike, wile going through the citys, dodging cars, its fun:)
Awesome little vid, I havent quite found that passion for my fixie yet, i ride my roadie and TT alot but try to get out on my fixie once a week, I must admit im a little bit scared of the fixie, think i just have to suck it up and rip shit up.
God damn, so many haters! I ride fixed and love it as well. Fuck these trolls! I appreciate the video, it was well done, enjoyable, and entertaining. There aren't a lot of girls on fixed and I'm glad you ladies are breaking down that wall. Keep riding and you gotta just laugh at the rest of these comments cuz they don't get or are just too into themselves to appreciate someone else's take. Thanks for the video and I hope to see some more from you.
As I know, In NewYork speed limit is 20 mph and using Fix bike is actual. I Moscow (40 mph - 60mph) we need something faster then Fix bike for use in the roads with main trafic.
In my opinion, running brakes defeats the purpose/functionality of a fixed gear. The whole point is to become one with the motions of the bike, and yes that includes stopping. Makes more sense to swap to a cassette and run all the braking power you wish to.
@@9toes907 The brake interferes with nothing, but if it's a build, some will omit the extra expense since they're not going to reach for it often, if at all.
So, the thing I always wonder when I see something like this is 'how is the american girl living in Melbourne?' I lived there for a while and eventually had to leave. Either way it must be nice to just get off a plane and head to a bike shop. Melbourne is one of the best cities. So good for food, coffee, skating, riding bikes and a sick night life. I'm jelly

Mint Slice Ikr!!
Mint Slice i started to argue in comments... as i saw yours i knew i need to stop :D
thats some nice Opinion :)
I guess what drives these comments is the same male bravado that makes this all-female riding group essential. With so much puffed up egos around, how can you have fun biking?

This is my favorite documentary about cycling. Thank you I for posting this. I watch it once a year!
The same😊
"Riding bikes has done more for me confidence-wise than any other thing in my life"
This is great. I ride mostly mtb, but fixies look like a lot of fun. It's awesome how biking in any form improves lives and brings people together.
Cinematography is on point. Beautiful way of telling the story.
Yup they got nice "cinematography" wink wink.
ALL THE REST IS NOT.
SEXIST VIDEO
Love this video! Can‘t believe there isn‘t more.
I really loved this movie. I'm a single speed rider for the last two years, and this really inspired me to look into fixed gear bikes.
What a beautiful video with so many beautiful women on their beautiful bikes with some beautiful thoughts. Life is beautiful 🖤
I'm really impressed with how well they skid while rocking drop bars. Roughly 7 years of riding fixed and that's basically beyond me.
Try using clipless pedals, cheats a lot
That feeling of control you get on a fixie is comparable and thus linked to the self consciousness you reach as you're doing it!! it brings you to a level of mental and physical control of your bike and-->as your own self that non-fixers asking "what do you find in fixie-riding?" can never understand......!!!!!! Feel it first in the knees after too many weeks without a fixed-gear ride. ;)
These girls create art. Beautiful vid
This is soooooo good. They are graceful!
Pretty girls !!! Same bike, different styles !!!
Urban bikers, Lifestyle and attitude.
Congratulations from Niteroi/RJ Brazil.
Congratulations, you made the 10,000th short about riding fixies. You win a prize!
Such a rad group of friends!
Beautifully choreographed and gorgeously shot - you really look as if you are enjoying yourselves.
Its bringing back the fun we know as kids when we first hopped on a bike .
You girls are in symphony with your machines. Kudos !
Really cool to see a group of women come together and share fixed gear riding. Great video!!
My dog and I loved this video. Especially awesome cinematography around my home city
on 0:45 what kind of handle bars are those???? They're so niceeee! Someone please answer
08'45"
we just wanna ride bicycles
Then the sky went purple.
This is the best.
Please more.
This is a well made short. I love the bicycles and you girls. I'm a bicycle builder and truly respect that you want to build your own bicycle. It's the pure.
Beautifully told and captured. Love seeing it since I've also been posting fixed videos
Beautiful. Simply beautiful. I think I'll go for a ride now.
Shiiiitt!! I used to live right there! Even before I was a fixer; still it brings back so much memories.... Great vid, great tricks!
Big respect girls, I'm out drawn! (and jealous..)
hello Rachael, just streaming inspirational fixie vids and it brought me here. you are awesome!
Greetings from Philippines!
You know girls, when i saw the Flinders station I just felt OMG!!!! I cannot believe you guys are in Melbourne!!! I love Melbourne, I love fixie and single gear bike. I was just surprised on your perfect skills on the fixies!!!! Well done girls!!
And I wish my art studio was in that building where some of this was shot. Such great light.
fantastic, very well shot, splendid, and absolutely on point opinions, that I did relate to. cheers
Thank you girls for an awesome riding experience insight :) It really puts a light o
n fixed in a whole different way
Hi! What about the brakes?
You don't need them
+ACrunchyBagel Try Amsterdam during rush hour
Drank Bak well tbh, even if you had a proper brake, your bike would still go sliding because of the slickness of the tires. So with brakes or without, you're still going to get in a car wreck if you're riding a fixie in ANY rush hour.

High quality video and quality representation of the fixed community
fabulous work everyone, v enjoyable short film.
that's some proper riding right there :}
Awesome bikes and cool bike riding! Almost makes me want to get one. I'd hate it though. I had a single-speed and hated that. I like gears and brakes. Very cool video!
Such an amazing film! If I may ask how did you go about shooting? Camera out of a car? On a bike? Great work, I loved every bit of it :)
+ThaGeorgeGuy - Thank you. The on road scenes were shot using a wireless movi setup out of a convertible.
average subject, but fun to watch thanks to great exiting video editing

Zhanicha Richiey Why did you, and the person above you, post nothing but OP's name? Am I missing something?

Where is that place around 2:07 under the bridge ??? Thanks

Keep up the good work! Greetings from Mexico 🤘...... Fixed Gear rules ⚡⚡⚡⚡🚴
i love it when i come across women that ride, and love to ride. riding is such a good feeling that you can feel deep within.
Awesome video! I really enjoyed it! Congrats!
Never ride brake less
I was going pretty fast down a hill and I was about to skid to stop... my chain snapped so I crashed into a bus
WaifuMIku That's why you don't depend on skidding, and maintain your bike. sorry to hear about your accident.
WaifuMIku couldnt you put your foot on the floor to slow down
alex djalo yeah or that back tire
Or just have brakes in the event of an emergency. Seriously, is this bit of minimalist vanity worth it?
Alex Djalo if he did put his foot on the floor he wouldve broke his fucking foot he was going fast!
Really enjoyed this video and what a gorgeous closing shot!! Thanks for the hard work it must have taken to edit this and tell a story. Super fun, glad to see girls tearing it up!!
yeah truly gorgeous ending clip

Very nice work..good stuff!!
It's so inspiring i even got goosebumps. I wish i could ride my fixie RN but the weather is too cold for that.
Those bars are too short, intensely short..What are they, about 10 / 15 cm in length?
That was separates a real woman from a hippi better put a in addition side wheels and go home man and play the wife and cut your pippi with a knife... with best regards from zurich cinelli sf bolt fix rider masculin... epic love all of you in the clip... from an egyptian/swiss admirer.... :-)
Nice short film. Hope you’re all doing well and still riding. As a guy I believe we need more women into FG. Aloha from the 808 🤙🏽
what was this filmed on? beautiful colours & tones
That's all wonderful but why fixed gear and no brakes? Does they ever climb and ride down hill? Or that's just to ride 1k on flat?
Wow i´m surprised! Great work girls! Nice to see you ridding on fixed bikes! :)
Those Handle Bars Though
The music is amazing, how can I get it?
Adrián Chavarría Millán you can get the music here itunes.apple.com/album/id950041092 It was originally written for the film clip.
This video is very cool. fixed for life!
What kind of bike is the second girl in the video riding? @1:48
Beautiful video by the way! Very inspiring...
That's a really nice video you put together. I commute on a single speed in Brisbane and you've inspired me to buy a fixie and give it a shot. Keep it up! :)
I loved all of you!!👍🏻
Really nice film!!
Proper track bikes=no brakes...props to these riders showing how its done...
Reminds me of hanging out with friends on BMX bikes when I was a kid.

I also run fat tires and platform pedals.I know it is heretical but I like it.The control is fantastic.
Excellent video!!!!
ive tried riding brakeless once. it is fucking insane. its really just a matter of time until you crash. back pedaling is just not enough.
Only on very steep hills. ;) I go for weeks without reaching for the hand brake levers. Weird because my brain knows (shortly after mounting, anyway!) which brake system applies during *this* ride only.

how do you brake, or slow down?
comment section made my day. thanks to all the haters!
love this video, I ride a "fixie" Fuji Feather, you girls rock. in a world full of E bikes lol .
any one have the scoop on east coast events calendar ??? fixin to throw up-lol- first fixie comp here in tennessee 20 miles north of chattanooga...next years events should be bigger spring and fall.... anyone have any facebook groups so i can post event???? cant seem to find anything fixie???- great vid girls
Excellent Docu....
So inspiring ⚙️✨🙌
I love this video . 💖
outstanding video outstanding girls⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💟
1:08 "I love fixed in that i feel like I'm physically pushing every motion forward"
...You just described the underlying mechanic of all bicycles, how is that different from any other non electric/gas powered bike?
It's slaved.
Perfectly logical: give one pedal stroke, coast for the same distance as two or three fixed gear pedal strokes.
dont get me wrong, this video is well really made and i like the vibe conveyed, bur really!

They have a strong passionate love for fixed its different hearing it from a woman's point of view, beautiful video
Please tell me what the stem on cinelli
Where is it ?
How can they trackstand and I can't yet 😶 I'm learn soon
Awesome little vid, I havent quite found that passion for my fixie yet, i ride my roadie and TT alot but try to get out on my fixie once a week, I must admit im a little bit scared of the fixie, think i just have to suck it up and rip shit up.
the best film!!!!
this is totes amazeballs
what do you need handlebars for? they are just obsolete....
On ya ladies! Hope you guys are riding still :)
hey i know you put this out awhile back but its new to me im'a rider and i thought it was cool
Damn shame you only got one video! Thanks for sharing though.

belo vídeo! essas meninas estão de Parabéns!
Always rode fixed wheel 50 years ago when I was a kid because is was a lot cheaper than bikes with gears.
you riding in Australia?
I don't wanna hate but having atleast one brake like that one girl won't lower your hipster points
I have a front brake and want to remove it
haha .. true :)

well put together mate
What's the exact name of the music please?
Can I please have one of these 2 leg models to take home?
Cool vid. Ex SF messenger. I love riding my fixie.
I love fixie 2 every inch counts with 100% feed back free weeling is only 50% feed back so safety is 💯
Girls who ride Fixie...RULE!!!
Nice clip guys!
I want what they have. Good riding, ladies! :)
