Dr. Rajani has been speaking about the fat pad loss around the eyes from using lash serums for quite a while now, but until now, I haven't heard even ONE beauty influencer talk about this! I hope that now with Penny's large following that the word will get out and other influencers will educate their followers as well. I am definitely NOT the type of person to jump on the bandwagon of new things that come out that are made from the Pharmaceutical industry. People really have no idea just how quickly these products get greenlit to be passed by the FDA & out to market; then at that point, the people using said product ARE the long term safety study participants, whether knowingly or not. WOW. I have been using GrandeLash for YEARS and latisse on and off. I have terrible fat loss under my eyes that I have been trying to combat for a few years. I cannot believe I am just hearing this information now but so thankful that I you put this out! I will throw out my GrandeLash TODAY and order one of your recommendations. I really really appreciate the science you explain behind all of the information you put in your videos. You are a gem ❤
I used to use Latisse but for a short time period. Definitely had a nice growth on my lashes. Past few months my lashes were so short and I started rubbing castor oil around my eyes and the growth is amazing. My lashes are beautiful! Anyone wanting to try an alternative that won’t cause any side effects, castor oil!
@@ALT-vz3jnif it does get in your eyes, your vision goes blurry for a little while. Castor oil is thick and messy and didn’t do much for my lashes compared to serums. It wasn’t worth the hassle for me
Oh, great! After losing 63 pounds.. first place was my face, I DO NOT need to lose anymore fat on my face. Great video!!!! You are gorgeous AND smart🩷🩷🩷
You and I are definitely on the same path lately I just filmed a video on prostaglandin feee lash serums as well. The reviv is the one that has really worked for me. As always, you look stunning ❤
I’ve tried revitalash and it grew my lashes like crazy. But I have equally good results just using some msm powder dissolved Into a little water; thick, curled, long lashes
@casperinsight3524 I started using it because I saw a RUclips with a curly hair growth chanel recommend it. It's a sulphur compound that is anti inflammatory. Some studies have shown increases in hair growth and retention in mice and in humans. Not sure what the exact mechanism of action is., but something to do with the sulpher acting on keratin. You can take internally or apply externally. It's meant to be good for skin too
@@noodlep2547 I've aware of msm arthritic/pain supplements and creams for dogs/cats/ people but never heard of possible hair growth which is interesting. Glad to hear it works as its natural and more affordable than most other manufactured marketed products. I read many have had success with castor oil on eyebrows for regrowth so perhaps might work on lashes too, Cheers
Can you please share more details about the msm powder and how to use it exactly? I’m in the UK and I can’t buy the Reviv lash serum here so I’m a bit stuck and the AnteAge is extremely pricey! Thanks so much for your advice and help 💕🙏
I stopped using RapidLash because I developed meibomian gland dysfunction where the oil glands along the lash line gets clogged. I have to get IPL laser treatments every 6-10 months (after the initial 4 treatments I got each a month apart) to get the oil in the glands to melt. Then the ophthalmologist expresses the lids. Mine were so thick they would come out like butter. One thing that helps with thick lashes and brows is Viviscal. I started taking the hair growth supplements recently and noticed my brows and lashes have gotten thicker. Since I don’t use lash serums anymore, I’m pretty sure it’s the Viviscal that’s responsible for the thick lashes and brows.
I only used the prostaglandin products once or twice because they irritated my eyes. Thanks for giving some other options Penn. Honestly, I’ve found that by brows and lashes have improved most with my red light therapy devices.
Me too!! So frustrating. I have to believe this is reversible!! Our thoughts are very powerful -so I’m stopping and going to expect things to heal-thank goodness the knowledge i out now-bet they knew it far before it got out to people
Penny, thank you for this eye opening and informative video! I’m 48 and figured the sunken eyes and darkness was just due solely to age! Much appreciation!
I have been using Obagi for over a year and my undereyes are soo dark and hollow. I just thought it was my lot in life. Thank you for this video! I am discontinuing use today.
I used GrandeLash for about 2 years regularly and it worked quite well. I later noticed that I had a good amount of fat loss around my eyes and also started getting inner styes/chalazion which I'd never had before. I almost had to have surgery because they wouldn't go away, it was awful! I stopped using it but it was too late. I do what I can do help the creepy skin that's left (botox, creams, etc). I started seeing videos and studies that came out later and my suspicions were validated. Don't use them, they are not worth the negative side effects.
Oh I was so holding my breath hoping you wouldn't say that the ordinary's was not a good one. It's worked very well for me. I tried vie for a week or less & my lids darkened so I said no. I'm so grateful to have you as an advocate & trustworthy source. I appreciate you so much for being with us !
Good morning Penn. Great information as usual. I've been using Grande Lash & Brow for almost 4 yeas without any problems. But with that being said I don't want any problems occurring in the future. I will use up what I have, then start using one of the products you mentioned. I'll be 70 next month, so I definitely don't want to use anything that causes fat loss. I'll buy two, one for my brows, and one for my lashes, to avoid cross contamination. Thank you, beautiful!!! Blessing..MaryEllen
Hello MaryEllen! It always makes me smile to see you! I’m so glad you’ve had no issues. That’s the thing, right? Lots of people will use these with no issues. People just need to have all the info so they can make an informed decision 💙💙 I sure hope you are going well my friend!
I used latisse & Jan Marini like 15+years ago. I think it took a while for the effects to show, but 3 years ago BAM!! My eyes had undereye pigmentation AND hollows!! I looked horrendous. I believe it was those serums plus age. I got a round of fillers & had a compounded fade cream to address the hyperpigmentation and I’m getting back to normal. I’m staying away from all lash serums & sticking with $5 essence mascara👍🏿👍🏿
I used Latisse, for a few months this past spring and summer. I used it on my lashes and eyebrows. My brows got thicker and darker. My lashes grew and got darker, nothing too crazy. I stopped because my eyes got very itchy and irritated. I've decided that I will work with what I have at this point in my life :) Stay healthy ladies
I use DS laboratories lash serum. Does not include any of the ingredients she says to avoid and in fact includes the ingredients she recommends. I have been using it for years and I have ocular rosacea and have had no irritation.
Spectacular, Penn! I so appreciate your research and recommendations. I definitely saw that my eyes changed when I was on a prostaglandin based last serum for a couple years. I looked back at those pictures and I actually look different. I find that now some of that has gotten better. It didn’t seem to be permanent for me but maybe I caught it in time.?
Thank you so much for this Penn. I now have a peri-orbital fat loss around my eyes. What do I do? Is thé damage irréparable? Also, can you make a video on Minoxidil and how ut causes premature aging?
Penny, I had heard about these potential side effects from certain lash serums some time ago and am thankful for your educational video!! I've used different lash serums for over 20 years, starting with Latisse when it first came out then tried Revitalash and Obagi, which became my favorite. My undereyes have changed but thought it was just age as I'm almost 59. For good measure I'm switching to Reviv!Serums! Love the depths you go to give us thorough education! xo
I used the revitalash for about 6 months. Lashes grew like crazy but yes, so did the side effects: discoloration. Heard it wasn't good for your eyes (Dr. Rajani) so immediately stopped using. Been using the Ordinary lash/brow serum as soon as it came out. It's helped, lashes are better, but lashes and brows arent as good as they were with Revitalash (59 years old). Was gladly willing to make the sacrifice..health before beauty. Going to try Anteage first. When it runs out, will try Reviv (I've been using their growth factor serum for possibly 2 years now). Learned about it from you of course. You always have the best information!!!
That’s wonderful! Like all “risks” there are people who will not experience any of the side effects and some who do. I’m so glad you are one who doesn’t!! 💙💙
I SWITCHED FROM LATISSE TO REVIVLASH. Thanks Penn! I really appreciate all the time & effort you’ve given to teach us about taking good care of our skin! I have learned so much from u that I get compliments DAILY ON MY SKIN! It’s all from everything I’ve learned from u! You’ve taken my skin to the next level! MUCH APPRECIATION❤🙏🏻
I have been using the Reviv serum since the beginning of April and saw a significant amount of thickness and length increase by August . I had lash extensions prior and when I removed them during lockdown when salons weren’t open, I was left with barely any lashes . I have tried many serums with prostaglandins and was left with red irritated eyes . I was going to give up but wanted to try a prostaglandin free one and I know you trust this brand . I am so happy with the results and someone for the first time in my life complimented me on my natural lashes and how long they were the other day! Thank you Penn for the recommendation 😊
Hi Penn. Speaking of fat loss, can you please do a video on volufiline? I saw you briefly mentioned it in a video about a year ago, but I just heard about it now. If you can do a comparison video with Adipeau, that would be so so helpful. Thanks so much for all you do! 🙏🥰
@@flowergirl8887did u ever use it I see ppl who say they had fat loss with it in those places when they lost weight or just in general or others saying permanent swelling
I was using the Lily Lash serum which made my lashes mega long however it absolutely darkened my lids. I’m now using the Ordinary one and not as good results but I’m getting some and no darkening so good enough for me. Also way more affordable! Lily was 47$ and ordinary was 15$ I believe. Lily did have way more in it though. I believe it was a 90 day supply.
Love all you do for us… What do you think about using Castor Oil for your lashes? I apparently heard it from somewhere.. Enjoy your journey in life and keep spreading your sunshine..🌞
It’s interesting that you mention this. About 5 yrs ago I started using latisse & b/c i had hooded eyelids it was a nice side effect to have less hooded lids, but after a year, my eyes didn’t look as good anymore & looked sunken. When i stopped, it seemed to reverse itself.
I cannot thank you enough for this video. I used grande lash for years and it sensitized my eyes and it discolored my skin around my eyes. I switched to RevitaLash and more recently I am starting to see the same F’ing issue!!! Thank you so much for this. Buying Reviv RIGHT now. ❤
I am now putting all of this together! I have used Grande for several years. My eyes have become red, itchy, and so irritable!!!! I bought the Reviv as well! I guess I need to chuck my unopened bottle of Grande out! UGH! :)
Great topic, there are many dangers to using prostaglandin analog serums, and the periorbital fat loss is irreversible! Would also recommend twenty/twenty beauty which is a physician developed company (by a board certified ophthalmologist) who created an eyelash serum safe for the eyes and conditions the lashes with ingredients castor oil, coconut oil and argan oil (that's it), to prevent lash brittleness and breakage. It's a safe natural formula that I especially would recommend to people with sensitive skin/eyes and even teen girls.
Hi Penn, I've used Grandelash on and off and have noticed that my eyelids near the lash line have turned red. Since discontinuing use, the red is gone. Great video, thank you.
Oh my goodness... I've been using Rodan+Fields Lash Boost for 5+ years and had no idea there was a risk! Okay, ordering one of your recommended lash serums immediately!!!
I had a bad experience with The Ordinary lash serum. I lost more lashes than ever, and had gaps in my lashline after using it. My eyelashes went back to normal after discontinuing it. Never again.
I knew about this . and I have seen many women with red and dark eye lids. but I didn't know that there were non prostaglandins lash serums options. YOu're awesome. thank you
Thanks for the deep dive! I ordered RevivLash with your code and just started using it last night so I’ll give an update in a month. I chose RevivLash over The Ordinary because it only has to be used once daily vs twice with TO. I also saw some reviews that TO felt heavy and/or caused dry eye. Update, nearly 4 months later: Using the serum along my upper lashes only as directed, I noticed another row of lashes coming in on my lower lash line the first week! My lower lashes have gotten longer as well. But there was a lot of shedding of my upper lashes. Thankfully they grew back and I think they’re slightly longer and thicker but not an obvious difference. I’m happy with the longer bottom lashes and just wear lash clusters on the top since I can’t stand mascara.
Ha! That’s funny. I ordered this one, confusing it with the Revitalash, which I only realized quite a while after. Guess now I should be happy about my mistake then! And, yes, I really like it! And by the way, works for eyebrows also!
Just received my RevivLash in the mail! I’ve been using Revita Lash for over a year now and other prior serums like Babe Lash that contain prostaglandins. My eyelids started to form a dark pinkish lash line which I was not happy about. I hope it’s reversible now that I will stop using this and begin using Reviv! Can’t wait to see my results with Reviv Lash!
Perfect timing for your video! I was just going to purchase the Obagi Lash Serum, but at $120 for 3ml it’s expensive. I am going to try your recommendations first.
On the search to repair my orbital fat loss and dark circles from using PGA lash serums, thank you for sharing these options. I’m really hoping my eyes improve after stopping usage some months ago.
My eyes inherently are hollowed and I don’t need any help with worsening it:) I heard about this side effect of prostaglandins several years ago and struggled to find a good replacement for the Rodan and Fields. About 8 months ago I started using the Reviv and I love it!! Thank you for all you do I appreciate all your content keep all the good stuff coming!! Would love to hear more about ingredients like methylene blue
Thank you Penny for another great video. Ive been using the Ordinary lash and brow serum on my brows and have seen great results. I had several patches where hair just wouldnt grow and those have filled in. They look darker too but not sure if thats because they're getting thicker. Thanks again for all you do!!
I used it too-i reached out to company -THEY DO use a prostaglandin so beware. I will not use anymore- i have the hollowing and trust me u don’t want to get that -its horrible!!
Penny, I ordered the Revivserum based on your recommendation. How long before you saw results and how long does it last if planning on using for both eyelashes and eyebrows?
I used one here in the Uk and it took 3 months for me to notice significantly sunken eyes and also discolouration - Im only 36 / wasnt stressed and no chsnge in my lifestyle so I knew something was off. I ditched my lash serum immediately after research and wont ever go back xx
I have 55yo short, straight Asian lashes. I also have undereye darkness and the early signs of hollow troughs due to age. I have always been frustrated with dealing with curling my lashes everyday and searching for the HG mascara that holds a curl. I've always envied the results from women who have used lash serums but always held off due to the risks. I'm not willing to chance it. With all the valuable research you do for us, it would be fantastic if you created a beauty line for us!!!
I’m so glad I found your video. I have been using latisse for 3 years. I had started to notice a hollowness under my eyes and chalked it up to aging. I definitely have hyperpigmentation too which I knew was a common side effect. I’m hoping that discontinuing will help get back to normal );
Thank you for this post. I have been using Revitalash for several years. Thankfully, I have no issues under my eyes, but I have developed discoloration on my eyelids. I bought a Mac eyelid primer and it hides this. Earlier, I did buy the Ordinary one to try when I finished the Revitalash. I’ll use it now and hope that the Revive will go on sale on Black Friday.
Thank you for explaining the ingredients and benefits (as well as problems) with different lash serums. I´ve used Sweed lash serum for the last (2?) months and it´s really changed my lashes a lot, they almost look fake, as they are visibly longer, curlier and thicker (unfortunately not in the outer corners though!). It´s a Swedish brand and the serum is without prostaglandines of any kind. Yet I do have some itchiness a few times a day, not sure it´s from the serum or from having allergies in my eyes (which I always have when being in the city). Because of the quite extreme (I´ve tried many other serums without any results, and had to throw away a few as they irritated my eyes) effectiveness of this serum I can´t help worrying about possible side effects and would love hearing from other users´ experiences with it.
I feel like I just dodged a bullet, so thank you for this. I used maybe 1-2 tubes of Latisse back in the day when I believe it was the only one out there. I am lucky enough to have been born w/long full eyelashes & pretty dark thick eyebrows thanks in large part to my dad’s genes. But my cosmetic derm whom I saw for facials, Botox & peels thought it’d be fun for me to see how long my lashes would get. I was warned about the potential for the darkening of my eyelids but was told it usually dissipated if it happened at all. I was in my 20s & tried it. But like I said, only for a very short time & I very much doubt I was consistent in daily use. I stopped because my lashes just got too long & were actually bending down against my eyeglass lenses & that drove me nuts. I have darkish upper eyelids to the point where my female friends often compliment my “eye shadow” when I’ve nothing on. To be honest, I am not sure now if it’s natural or due to the short amount of time I used Latisse or if it’s a combination of both. I haven’t noticed any fat loss around my eyes, thank goodness. In any case, I am so grateful for this video because I just bought some Revitalash in the Nordstrom’s sale. I was noticing a thin patch in my eyebrow & thought I might like to take another go at using a lash & brow serum to: 1) fill in my eyebrow & 2) see how long my lashes would get this time! I hadn’t opened the package yet as my eyebrow seems to have filled itself in, (maybe due to the supplements I’ve been using to stop my hair loss & rejuvenate my hairline), & I’ve been debating about whether or not to return it or keep it to use for when my honey returns from a long work assignment out of town. Now I’m absolutely going to be returning it. THANK YOU!
There is a wonderful cream called adipeau that may be able to help restore the loss of fat in the eye area. I have used this cream and it does work!❤ it does need to go through the hair follicles, so I'm not sure how it would work on the orbital of the eye, but it's definitely worth trying
I tried Rodan & Fields lash serum & developed hyperpigmentation, mostly on my upper eyelids, rather quickly. It was a reddish brown color. Made me look like I never slept or had a hangover 24/7! It did go away after I stopped using it. I'd rather have tiny eyelashes than look like that. Now, I use The Ordinary & have no side effects. My lashes did get a tiny bit longer. Mostly I can tell when I put mascara on. I'm curious to try the Revivlash next. Thanks for the info based on science Penn!
Thanks for the video and posting the study links. I've seen videos from derms and at least one ophthalmologist over the past few years on side effects from lash serums. I believe Dr. Rupa Wong (ophthalmologist) has reviewed the ordinary lash serum (and maybe Dr Dray).
Hi Penny - I just ordered Revitalash during the Nordstrom sale getting 2-for-the price-of-1. Do you think I could use this just on my brows - and not get the bad effects? or I guess I could use on my scalp/hairline, too. I hate to waste it - too expensive for me to just toss. thanks for your help! Angela
Ive used Larissa briefly years ago, revitllash a couple years ago for a while (great lash results) and then went more “natural” or so I thought with Nulastin. Recently back to Revitalash to get more pronounced results. ALL THREE of these have the PG or analogs in them!!!! My eyes look dark hollow and awful quite frankly!! I am so glad to have run across this info on you tube (thanks to Gloria’s channel and now Penn’s) I am stopping and will expect my eyes to heal knowing our body has such intelligence and healing abilities-and be aware of the power of our thoughts!! IF i had known this earlier or at least known what to watch for….. I tell you it is super disheartening to look in the mirror-it is depressing!! Thank god i know the reason now. Penn are there any mascaras that we need to worry about (obviously would avoid those from the same companies as the lash serums above! Thank you!!
Hi, absolutely love your informative videos. Very helpful! What do you think about Lavish Lash serum? And also I use Latisse, and do notice some hyperpigmentation around my eyes, but I was recommended to apply Vaseline or aquaphor ointment around eye area to serve as a barrier before applying Latisse to prevent hyperpigmentation/irritation. I have not tried it yet. What are your thoughts?
Thank you so much for this video. I have been using RevitaLash for a few years now and love the results. However, lately I have noticed hollowing under my eyes - as you mentioned, I attributed it to age (I am 52). As soon as I saw your video - I knew I had to watch it. I have an unopened box of RevitaLash and NeuLash (from Nordstrom Anniversaly Sale) as backup, but will be returning them both promptly. Both contain at least one of the ingredients you say to avoid. Again - the hollowing could indeed be due to age, but I am not willing to chance it just to get longer lashes. Thank you once again!
I was blessed with long lashes that are curved. People used to ask if I had false lashes, especially when I wore eyeliner, so stopped using eyeliner until my 40s when my eyes started to disappear. As I have aged, the lashes are less full, but still pretty long. My husband has glaucoma and his eye drops have in fact caused his lashes to be quite lush. I had heard to steer clear of prostaglandin due to change in eye color. I have multi-color irises anyway so that wasn’t a real concern. If I had crystal blue eyes like yours, I would not risk it. At first I thought fat loss could be good: “maybe it will reduce my hooded and puffy eyes” - lol. But knew better. I am currently on my 2nd tube of The Ordinary. I am not sure I see much difference. Maybe a little. I might try the Reviv to compare. Like you, I am hoping for fuller lashes, not longer.
Thanks for the detailed explanation and the relevant studies. I like the NYK1 eyelash serum but will definitely check the other serums you've recommended
Hi Penny, I really appreciate this video. I’ve been using NeuLash for over a year. Is it one of the bad ones? I have noticed my lashes are harder to tame a little. I value your opinion and your expert advice. Thank you, Trisha
I've been suing Nulastin thinking it only had peptides as the active ingredients but in fact it does contain prostaglandins! Disappointed but I will try your recommendations. Thank you!
I heard about the side effects a few months back when I came across a video from Twenty Twenty Beauty. A dermatologist created a lash serum with caster oil that helped with lash growth and condition. I had never had real success with lash serums and have been diagnosed with dry eye. I am using the Twenty Twenty lash serum and have noticed slight lengthening, but definite filling in of sparse areas and better condition of my lashes. I checked the ingredients and there are no growth factors or peptides in it, just oils. I am going to try the Reviv!Serums now and see if I can get some length! I do have one drawback, my lashes curl toward the center of my face when they do grow :/
I have been using Dermawerks after years of using products like rodan and fields, Latisse and Revitalash. I found all the prostaglandin products to work initially and then kind of stop working- all eventually irritated my eyes especially since I am a side and stomach sleeper. My eyelids got very red and it looked like I was wearing red eyeliner on my top lid. I noticed hallowing beneath the eye of the side I usually sleep on after several years. The good news is since I stopped using prostaglandin products the hallow under the effected eye seems to have lessened so I don’t think my hallowing is necessarily permanent. I’m definitely trying Reviv because I don’t think Dermawerks has any growth factors. Thanks Penny!
So I have a question that is probably a bit crazy… I still have Revitalash in my cupboard that cost me a small fortune to get to Australia. Could I use that just on my eyebrows (I have hooded eyes so would be happy to have fat loss underneath my eyebrows taken from my puffy lids) & then use something like Revivelash on my eyelashes?
That’s what I would do. But….I haven’t researched the fat loss associated with prostaglandins on the eyebrows. I’m not sure that there IS research on that 🤔 I’ll look in to it and certainly report back 🫶🏼
Also, very important: prostaglandins can cause DRY EYE Syndrome. Repeated use can destroy the mybomian glands. Several eye doctors explain why on their RUclips channels.
I have pretty pronounced eye bags so thank you for this video!! My goto lash serum is actually by Neutrogena. I'm not normally a fan, however this serum works incredibly well for me! My lashes are so thick and long! They actually touch the lenses of my glasses when i wear them. Just did a comparison of the inci list and im not seeing any of these ingredients in it! ❤
I enjoyed your video. Thanks for providing helpful information and helping me stay safe. I have a question: Could Revitalash volume enhancing foam, which also contains Dichlorohydroxydifluoro, cause fat loss on the forehead or scalp?
Revitalash contains a smaller amount of prostaglandin, called latanoprost, which can have similar results to Latisse (a prescription lash growth treatment), though it usually takes longer to see the effects.
Hi Penn, thanks so much for this information and listing the the ingredients to avoid. I was using neuLASH several months ago and it did work but I stopped using it (before I even finished it) because I was getting red lines on my eyelids, above my eyelashes. I just looked and it does contain Isopropyl Cloprostenate, which may have been the reason. I will definitely be trying the Revivlash you recommended…. Thank you so so much again, as always! 😘
Is the elf serum ok? I’ve checked the ingredients you listed but it’s always hard to tell. I’ve had better results with the elf vs the ordinary. However I don’t want to continue to use it if it may have negative effects. Please let me know if you get a chance. Thanks so much.
Oh man thank you so much for the information. I’ve been using GrandeLash for almost a decade! I just purchased Dermelect Lash Volumizer. Any thoughts on that one? I think it only has peptides and no growth factors.
I haven't used the one from Dermelect but I just checked out the ingredient deck and it looks so good! I may just have to go order this as well. Also, just so you know you can save 20% on their site with code Penn20 😊
About 6 years ago I used Latisse for a while- my eyes were a LOT more sunken in during that time-I stopped using it and only use one with growth factors, now, and I do believe a lot of that hollowness has dissipated and looks much better. Luckily, I never got discoloration/pigmentation. I like my lashes to be thicker too- I don’t notice mine as thick as they used to be either. I’m going to pick up the Reviv 4 sure.
😳Uh-oh. I take eye drops to control the pressure in my eye. I have begun noticing the side effects. The normal vitreal fluid in the eye was exchanged for silicon oil to aid my vision; sadly, it didn't work. But, the oil contributes to high pressure. I have the option of removing the silicon oil (I think they replace it with saline and let nature take its course, so that I end up with natural vitreal fluid after a bit). 🤔 Hmm. Should I go for the operation so that I can abandon the itchy eye-irritating, staining (but necessary) eye drops? Do you happen to know if the discolouration will eventually reverse? It's not a terribly expensive surgery, and the drops cost a fortune, so it's tempting. 🤗Thank you for your outstanding channel, Penny. I've learned SO much from you!
Thank you .... interesting you mention growth factors! Question... Would you please do a video on growth factors for skin care? What serum /moisturizer do you use. or you suggest?
Dr. Rajani has been speaking about the fat pad loss around the eyes from using lash serums for quite a while now, but until now, I haven't heard even ONE beauty influencer talk about this!
I hope that now with Penny's large following that the word will get out and other influencers will educate their followers as well.

That is one of the more extreme side effects, I am so sorry to hear that this happened to you!
That's what happened to me. I got Dry Eye from using Lattisse. I have to get IPL on a regular basis now. Plus, insurance won't cover it.
@@morganjen1962 I’m sorry you have to go through this too. I don’t understand why insurance won’t cover our IPLs. It’s sooo expensive 😢😭
@@mkryu It's considered "experimental."
I only used the prostaglandin products once or twice because they irritated my eyes. Thanks for giving some other options Penn. Honestly, I’ve found that by brows and lashes have improved most with my red light therapy devices.
In fact there was a lawsuit against the two dermatologist that created Lashboost because of the potential side effects
Honestly this channel deserves so much more subscriptions, it’s just consistently good.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Not going to lie.. MIND BLOWN!! I have all of these symptoms and had no clue. I've been using lash serums for years!
Same!!!
Many years ago my boyfriend who had eye trouble used drops that made him grow the longest lashes ever. He looked adorable.
I have been using Obagi for over a year and my undereyes are soo dark and hollow. I just thought it was my lot in life. Thank you for this video! I am discontinuing use today.
I’m so sorry to hear this. I did see a study where the orbital fat loss reversed after about 6 months and the hyperpigmentation can be reversed too 🙏💙
I used GrandeLash for about 2 years regularly and it worked quite well.
WOW Penny this is unreal. I had NO IDEA. I go one and off of lash serums and I have noticed my under eyes changing quite a bit lately....mind blowing!
People just need to have all the info so they can make an informed decision 💙💙
I sure hope you are going well my friend!
Hello my friend! I’m with you MaryEllen, I knew I’d find you here too!
Hello Maureen. Yes, I love to see our beautiful Penn, and hear what she has to say!! She's brains, and beauty!!@@maureenhansen8321
I have also been using Grande Lash for a few years thankfully without any problems, but I will switch to Revive thanks for the advise ❤
Penn always provides the best information!! @@mariaantonietamora5760
OMG I thought that I was looking so old with my suddenly dark circles! I started using Grande Lash a couple of months ago. Thank you for this video!!
Oh yay!!! I’ll look this one up! Thank you 😊😊💙
Spectacular, Penn!
Minoxidil causes aging?
Does it make your lashes longer or thicker? I find most serums do one or the other. Would love to know❤
Penny, I had heard about these potential side effects from certain lash serums some time ago and am thankful for your educational video!!
I have been using Latisse for years. I love it. No side effects for me as mentioned .
Oh my gosh Tammy! Thank you for this!! 🥹🥹🥹🥹
Thank you for sharing your results!
Hi Penn. Speaking of fat loss, can you please do a video on volufiline? I saw you briefly mentioned it in a video about a year ago, but I just heard about it now. If you can do a comparison video with Adipeau, that would be so so helpful. Thanks so much for all you do! 🙏🥰
yes, I just bought a bottle and I am afraid to use it. LOL Please do a video Thank you
Same here. Waiting for a video😊
I have been using the Ordinary serum and love it! It has definitely helped my sparse eyebrows. I’m on my second tube.
Awesome!!
Love all you do for us…
What do you think about using Castor Oil for your lashes? I apparently heard it from somewhere..
Enjoy your journey in life and keep spreading your sunshine..🌞
It’s interesting that you mention this. About 5 yrs ago I started using latisse & b/c i had hooded eyelids it was a nice side effect to have less hooded lids, but after a year, my eyes didn’t look as good anymore & looked sunken. When i stopped, it seemed to reverse itself.
Great and pertinent topic. Porstoglandins in eye lash/eye brow serum needs to be illegal and not allowed by the FDA.
UGH! :)
It is crazy how many of these brands are not good! I hope you love the Reviv 😊
EXCELLENT, excellent video. Great summary of some of the available data that most people won’t bother to read. Thank you @Penn Smith 🙏🙏
Thank you! That means so much to me coming from you 😍💙💙
I had a bad experience with The Ordinary lash serum.
Agree. Latisse use was one of the reasons I got Dry Eye. Way too much risk to use lash serums with prostaglandins.
Hi Penny
Is this apply for eyebrows serums too?Like revitalbrow?
Is that safe or can damage also the eye area?
I have found something simple. Castor oil at night. It is amazing. Try it ladies on both eyebrows and eyelashes
Yep, this is what did it to my eyes….so hallow
I’m so glad I never used any of these products. Always trust your gut. I don’t put anything around my eyes.
Thank you Penny for another great video. Ive been using the Ordinary lash and brow serum on my brows and have seen great results. I had several patches where hair just wouldnt grow and those have filled in. They look darker too but not sure if thats because they're getting thicker. Thanks again for all you do!!
Thanks for sharing!!
I use Nulastin which only contains collagen, Keratin and HA. Ive been pleased.
I used it too-i reached out to company -THEY DO use a prostaglandin so beware. I will not use anymore- i have the hollowing and trust me u don’t want to get that -its horrible!!
I saw results with Revive and need to reorder. The Ordinary serum didn't give me results, sadly. Love your shirt, Penny! Have a great Sunday,
Penny, I ordered the Revivserum based on your recommendation. How long before you saw results and how long does it last if planning on using for both eyelashes and eyebrows?
I wish i had known this a long time ago 😢 thank you Penny!
Have you tried using a heated lash curler? I just got one and it holds a curl much longer than the traditional curler.
I’m so glad I found your video. I have been using latisse for 3 years. I had started to notice a hollowness under my eyes and chalked it up to aging. I definitely have hyperpigmentation too which I knew was a common side effect. I’m hoping that discontinuing will help get back to normal );
Glad it was helpful!
THANK YOU!
Penny, thank you for this video. I have wanted to use a lash serum, but just wasn't sure after hearing the problems they created. Thank you
I use castor oil with lavender, rosemary and cedarwood. Buy an empty mascara tube and make your own. It really works!
Great information Penny! Thank you! ♥️🙏
Angela
Hi Penny.. which copper peptides on the market do you recommend for scalp microneedling and at what depths and frequency? Thanks so much 😀🙏
Ok I just purchased the revivserums, thank you for the discount code 🦋
I hope you love it!
Thanks for this information! I can keep using my Ordinary lash serum!
Yes I had researched it and stop using it. Thanks for sharing .
Thanks for sharing Penny! I was using Lashboost once a week and my upper lashes were getting red!
I will ditch it and start using one of yours.
Thank you!!
Great video!! I have been absolutely loving Scorolash, super effective for lashes and brows. Highly recommend it.
Thank you for this video!!!! Question, I have a tube of Revitalash left, is it safe to strictly use on the brows?
Great video Penn! Thank you as always 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you!
I have used the Reviv lash and brow serum for the past year really happy with my results.
Thank you!
Thank you for this info ... will be changing immediately
Thanks so much for this information. I will switch.😊
I use the ordinary one, it’s so good. Best one I’ve tried
I’m not sure that there IS research on that 🤔
I’ll look in to it and certainly report back 🫶🏼
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Please do and let us know asap!
I was just sent the eyelash serum by Obagi last week and realised it has dehydrolatanoprost. What a shame!
About 6 years ago I used Latisse for a while- my eyes were a LOT more sunken in during that time-I stopped using it and only use one with growth factors, now,
and I do believe a lot of that hollowness has dissipated and looks much better.
I love your channel because you care about the exact same things that I do! 😉🩵🙌🏼
😁💙💙💙😍😍
Thank you! I’m so glad!
