I never had one of the compact auto 35mm modern cameras. I think in time these will become more and more curiosities, passed up for most part, between 'classic'' manual film rangefinder and slrs, and the higher end auto compacts as Contax, and some auto SLRs from Canon, Nikon (such as Nikon F100 I got used a couple of years ago), maybe Minolta etc. I used a Minoltta Hi Matic 7 s rangefinder from summer 1973 out of High School, into the early 1990s. It needed maintenance but I did not do that and got rid of it. No camera until first digital in 2001. Now mostly using Nikon DLSR, having lots of Nikon F, so , being older and money getting tight enough not to really think about moving on to full frame mirrrorless!
Thanks for this video. I am looking to identify a Chinon camera that was given to for use as a teenager in1975-77 time frame and this model is the closest thing I can identify, the characteristic being a skinny shutter button/pole. You claim 1978 as the time of introduction, but I am not sure whether that is correct considering my experience with it 2-3 years prior to that. Can you confirm? That camera created most beautiful pictures at the time, sharp and colorful. Thanks.
👍😄Grazie ciao

I spent my youth as a photographer while using a lot of cameras... Now I'm just a camera collector. I don't know if the passion has disappeared ...
@@lian68812 If you like film and compacts, do you have any Contax? Thanks, bye.
There's no such thing as a nice Contax to brag about, just uploading it as it was organized, and the order got mixed up. Be healthy^^
Super merci
