As a cook; hair is far easier to burn that people think. You don't even need to cover them in fire. Heck, my right arm is noticeably less hairy than my left because of the sheer heat pans have when stirring. Stay safe Colin, wear that safety tie!
Former line cook here, can confirm; my hair has been on fire more times than a California forest. Colin needs to invest in a helmet or something.

This man is a genius. A lot of stuff like this you see on RUclips is made with REALLY expensive machines that basically do all the work for you. Using a Ryobi to hand drill a pipe then a tap and wrench to thread it!? Amazing and very skilled. And the welding skill… Blew my mind 🤯 I’d take an unpaid apprenticeship with this man to learn some of those skills.

The shiny suit works by reflecting out radiated heat (i.e. infrareds) when you're close to a flame. It's less effective if you're actually touching the flame (conducted heat).
